Feng Lixue waited outside the mountain gate. Po Yun heard from the mountain-guarding disciples that today was the day Mo Xiao would succeed as sect leader, and informed Feng Lixue. She gave a faint smile, knowing that this was Mo Xiao's destiny. Just after Mo Xiao officially became sect leader, news came from Fengdu City that the previously poisoned disciples had another outbreak of demonic poison.

As no one could cure it, Feng Lixue stepped forward and said she could detoxify them and was willing to help the sect dispel the poison—but she hoped the "Tianxing Seal" could be returned to her so that she could reopen the Tianxing Sect. Yuan Beichen agreed to consider it carefully, and then Mo Xiao led everyone to Fengdu City.

Chong Guang praised Feng Lixue's actions, saying this was the behavior of a true disciple—daring to go to Shushan for the Tianxing Seal on such an important day for the sect. If Feng Lixue could truly earn the sect’s trust, things would become much simpler. Mo Xiao, Feng Lixue, Xie Lingyun, and Murong Jing arrived together at Fengdu City. Feng Lixue spoke at length with Murong Jing, while Mo Xiao, following behind, remained silent.

Murong Jing noticed that Mo Xiao had been acting differently since returning, especially after Feng Lixue ascended the mountain. Xie Lingyun understood it was all because of Feng Lixue. After Mo Xiao settled into an inn, Murong Jing and Xie Lingyun visited Feng Lixue to check on her and understand how she intended to dispel the poison. Feng Lixue didn’t reveal her method but assured them she would appear on time to help Mo Xiao cleanse the poison.

She also asked them not to visit her too often to avoid suspicion of collusion with demonic forces. Murong Jing didn’t mind at all—after all they had been through, they were already friends, especially now that Feng Lixue had left the demonic cult. Murong Jing wanted to tell Feng Lixue about Mo Xiao’s sacrifices for her but was stopped by Xie Lingyun, who thought it best for Mo Xiao and Feng Lixue to handle things themselves.

On the way back, Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing saw Lady Hongyue in Fengdu City and, fearing trouble, quickly reported it to Mo Xiao. At that moment, Mo Xiao had just learned from Hwarang that the poison outbreak in Fengdu City was orchestrated by the "Seven Caverns and Nine Abysses" of the demonic cult. Mo Xiao suspected that Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing had visited Feng Lixue and questioned them about her plans.

Upon learning that Feng Lixue hadn’t revealed anything, Mo Xiao grew concerned. That night, Mo Xiao secretly went to Feng Lixue’s window. He knew she had chosen the most difficult path but was resolute, and he vowed to protect her. When his emotions stirred, the "Heart-Guarding Sand" on his wrist seared with pain, forcing him to leave. Feng Lixue, hearing the noise, came out and found a pinwheel left on the windowsill—she knew Mo Xiao had been there.

Meanwhile, Lu Jianchuan secretly practiced the Soul Transfer Incantation, transferring his own toxins into a rabbit. Murong Changfeng happened to witness this and scolded Lu Jianchuan for practicing a forbidden art. Lu Jianchuan begged him to keep it secret, promising to serve him loyally in the future. Considering his difficulties, Murong Changfeng agreed but reminded him to act as guardian during Mo Xiao’s detoxification, as people might discover his poison hadn’t been eliminated.

A zither player named Ling Xiang approached Lu Jianchuan, asking him to arrange for some of her friends to enter the altar to dispel the demonic aura. Learning her friends were of demonic origin, Lu Jianchuan immediately refused. However, Ling Xiang threatened him with his secret training of the Soul Transfer Incantation, forcing him to agree. She then took the token from Lu Jianchuan’s waist.

Hongyue, who had fallen in love with Haotian in the Valley of Desire, came to find him again, believing their love was real. Since the demonic poison hadn’t been purged, their memories of that time remained. However, Haotian had long been engaged to Yueyao and didn’t wish to revisit the past. He urged Hongyue to leave. Hongyue refused, determined to disrupt everything. When Haotian saw sect disciples approaching, he fled, leaving her behind.

A maidservant then approached Hongyue, claiming she could help her achieve her wish. She took Hongyue to a room where Ling Xiang, the Island Lord of Biqiong, and the Valley Master of Changshou were waiting. They all hoped to enter the altar to dispel the poison. Although Hongyue had a way to suppress the poison, she was unwilling to go. Ling Xiang used Haotian as leverage to convince Hongyue to join them.

Feng Lixue and Po Yun arrived at the altar as scheduled. Feng Lixue told Po Yun to observe from a distance and not to interfere. Mo Xiao approached and softly urged Feng Lixue not to act recklessly, assuring her he would be there for everything. Feng Lixue gave a slight nod. She and Mo Xiao sat at the center of the altar to activate the formation, while the sect disciples sat around them.

The poisoned disciples released black mist from their bodies and suffered great pain. Lu Jianchuan also showed signs of poisoning but forcefully suppressed them. Suddenly, Hongyue tried to break the formation and escape with Haotian, causing Feng Lixue to be injured and demonic energy to surge outward. Mo Xiao immediately cast a barrier to contain it. Xie Lingyun and Murong Ce arrived to help.

Hongyue crawled toward Haotian to take him away, but Yueyao appeared and stabbed her to death, scolding her for trespassing into the altar. Seeing the formation about to collapse and the demonic aura breaking free, Feng Lixue used her body as a vessel to absorb it all. Chong Guang sensed her pain, while Po Yun rushed in and carried her away. Mo Xiao and the others were busy saving the sect disciples and couldn’t pursue.

But the poisoned disciples died one after another, and Mo Xiao shed tears. Po Yun and Gu Bai watched over the unconscious and injured Feng Lixue, planning to find magical artifacts to help purge the poison, leaving Cangcang to care for her. At that moment, Chong Guang arrived, knocked Cangcang unconscious, and, heartbroken at Feng Lixue’s condition, cut his wrist and let his blood drip into her mouth.

When it was discovered that demonic cult members had infiltrated the group, Lu Jianchuan accused Feng Lixue of pretending to exorcise demons while actually letting them sabotage the ritual, resulting in so many deaths. Mo Xiao wanted to go to Tianxing Residence to investigate, but Xie Lingyun stopped him. Since Feng Lixue couldn’t explain herself, Mo Xiao’s involvement would only make things worse. Mo Xiao had no choice but to lead everyone back to Shushan.

When Feng Lixue awoke, she found herself unharmed. Gu Bai and Po Yun had returned with supplies and were relieved to see she was well. Feng Lixue asked about the situation at the altar. Po Yun believed that since Feng Lixue had absorbed all the demonic energy herself, the others should be fine. Feng Lixue smiled.
