That night, after Gui Xiao fell asleep, Lu Yanchen couldn't calm down and went to the balcony to get some fresh air. Qin Xiaonan was also still awake and asked Lu Yanchen if he would have to send the baby back to Qining now that it had arrived. Lu Yanchen assured him that he would still be living there. In the middle of the night, Lu Yanchen, still unable to calm down, went to the canal and called his good friend Hai Dong to share the good news. Hai Dong was also thrilled and congratulated Lu Yanchen and Gui Xiao. Lu Yanchen opened up and said that he had had many places to live before, but he had never felt like he had a real home until now. Hai Dong nodded, his eyes filling with tears without him realizing it.

The next morning, Lu Yanchen took Gui Xiao for a check-up. The nurse told Gui Xiao that the fetus was very healthy, easing her worries. Gui Xiao shared the news about the fetus with Lu Yanchen and they figured out that it was probably conceived during their time in Qining, Lu Yanchen's second hometown and the place they reconnected, which Gui Xiao found very meaningful. Gui Xiao informed Meng Xiaoshan of the news and she offered to plan their wedding.

Lu Yanchen received a one-month mission to train bomb disposal personnel in another city. Originally, Qin Mingyu was supposed to go instead of Lu Yanchen, but Qining was short on manpower, so the boss arranged for Lu Yanchen to go instead.
