Ji Man asserted that she didn't need his help and was confident she could win based on her own abilities. Ji Man then asked Ning Yuxuan if he had anything else to tell her besides the competition details. Ning Yuxuan quickly replied that he didn't. As Ji Man, feigning sleepiness, prepared to leave, Gui Bai entered, mentioning something Ning Yuxuan had asked him to prepare, but Ning Yuxuan interrupted him.

They spotted Ning Yuxuan moving cargo. Yuan Lang learned that Guihai Warrior had returned and wanted to meet him. Huang Han suggested sending a formal visit request first, noting Guihai Warrior's status as a major merchant and an elder. He also mentioned that Guihai Warrior was known to be an upright and honorable person, making it important to leave a good impression. Yuan Lang agreed.
Ji Man returned to Ship Guihai later that night and instructed Sang Shen to lie in her bed, pretending to be her and even imitating her voice to mislead her father, promising to return within an hour as she had urgent business with Ning Yuxuan. She then went to find Ning Yuxuan at the dock and saw his hands were chafed from work, so she applied medicine for him.
Ji Man asked Ning Yuxuan what he wanted to tell her when he invited her out that night. He, appearing tired, deferred the conversation, saying they could talk later as the moment had passed, and quickly left. The next morning, Ning Yuxuan secretly went to visit Ji Man at Ship Guihai, but Guihai Warrior discovered him there, forcing him to leave. Yuan Lang visited Guihai Warrior.
Guihai Warrior, pleased to recognize him as "A-Lang," Yuan Lang's childhood name, and as the new leader of the Jiaolong Gang. Yuan Lang, addressing him as "Third Uncle," revealed Guihai Warrior's real name is Ji Ming and his alias in the tea gang was Lei Hu. He also confirmed that Ji Man, who runs Haoxue Cosmetics under the name Miss Nie, is Guihai Warrior's daughter.
Guihai Warrior acknowledged that he had been troubled by Ji Man's relationship with Ning Yuxuan, seeing it as an unfortunate karmic bond. He expressed worry for her safety with Ning Yuxuan.
