Xiang Yuan waited in the rain for a long time, but Dang still didn't come to see her. Disheartened, she decided to break up with him and told him that she was already with a high school classmate. Dang only wished her happiness. Once she arrived home, Xiang Yuan tried to detach herself from the memories. Xu Yanshi asked her what she wanted to talk to him about before the press conference, but Xiang Yuan didn't reveal her true identity to him. Shortly after Xiang Yuan went upstairs, Xu Yanshi received a call from Li Yongbiao. The two investigators from the headquarters were searching through Xu Yanshi's office, and they accidentally broke a photo album.

Feeling angry, Xiang Yuan rushed in and questioned them, but Xu Yanshi used his eyes to signal her not to cause trouble. Afterward, Xiang Yuan went to the staircase to call her grandfather and assured him that Xu Yanshi was not at fault in this matter. Si Tumingtian asked her if she liked Xu Yanshi, but Xiang Yuan avoided answering directly. Xu Yanshi followed her to the staircase and overheard her conversation with Si Tumingtian, thus learning that Xiang Yuan was the granddaughter of the chairman. After Lu Dong and Chen Shu finished their work discussion, Lu Dong asked Chen Shu to take him to Xiang Yuan's office. He knew that Xiang Yuan had a cold and specially brought her cold medicine. Xu Yanshi also prepared rock sugar and snow pear water for her, but he never had the opportunity to give it to her. The directors of Ruidong Group were interested in Weilin's project, and Xiang Yuan received a call to attend a dinner party.

Xu Yanshi chased after her but saw Xiang Yuan getting into Lu Dong's car. Xiang Yuan flew back to Shanghai from Xi'an and rushed into Si Tumingtian's office. She presented a lot of evidence to prove Xu Yanshi's importance to Weilin and how, with his technical support, Weilin secured an order from Ruidong Group. Si Tumingtian asked all the employees to leave and earnestly told Xiang Yuan that she and Xu Yanshi were not meant for each other. Xiang Yuan met with Xu Yan, who believed that Xu Yanshi was playing with her feelings and considered him a scumbag. Xu Yanshi asked Gao Leng about Xiang Yuan and learned that she had gone to Shanghai. Xu Yanshi wanted to message her and ask when she would return, but he edited the message several times and ultimately didn't send it.

Back in the day, Xu Yanshi didn't play games, but he followed Xiang Yuan's Weibo account. When he saw Xiang Yuan posting about games, he started playing and eventually crossed paths with her. They had a short-lived online relationship. However, their happiness didn't last long. Xu Yanshi's incompetent father left his newborn brother with him while he was still in college and disappeared without a trace.
