Synopsis

In the eleventh year of the Chengkang reign, Jiang Xu, who has been guarding the border for eight years, returns to the Da Xian dynasty to investigate the embezzlement of military funds in the Dingbei Army. Unexpectedly, the case of embezzlement involves a vast conspiracy, and to uncover the real culprit and purge the court, Jiang Xu voluntarily marries Ming Tan, a noblewoman from another military family, to protect the Ming family from being used as a pawn.

As the conspiracy gradually unravels, Jiang Xu realizes that the embezzlement case is tied to the economic lifeline of the entire Da Xian dynasty. He must root out all those involved in the plot. However, due to Jiang Xu's thorough investigation, the Ming family is framed, resulting in the destruction of their household. Jiang Xu fights to prove the Ming family's innocence.

Amidst trials and tribulations, he and Ming Tan gradually develop genuine affection for each other. Together, they vow to dismantle the enemy forces, uncover the truth, and bring the culprits to justice. In the end, they protect the safety of the common people while finding love.
