That night, he shot the talisman into Jiang Shi's room with an arrow. Seeing the Nightingale Talisman, Jiang Shi became suspicious—only Yu Qi knew that she bore the Saintess Totem. She quickly realized that Yu Qi might be deliberately testing her, so she planned to seek help from Liu Yan'er at Tianxiang Pavilion.

Early in the morning, Zhen Hang saw weapons in the courtyard and thought about practicing martial arts to protect Jiang Shi. However, as a frail scholar, he struggled to handle the heavy weapons. To win Jiang Shi’s favor, he even climbed a mountain to pick orchids for her, injuring himself in the process. Jiang Shi went to Tianxiang Pavilion to find Liu Yan'er, but was refused. With no other choice, she returned home to seek her brother Jiang Zhan’s help.

Together, Jiang Shi and Jiang Zhan went back to Tianxiang Pavilion. The owner of Tianxiang Pavilion recognized Jiang Shi’s identity and, not wanting to offend Jiang Zhan, reluctantly agreed to let her see Liu Yan'er. Just as Jiang Shi was about to succeed, Yu Qi suddenly appeared, insisting on joining them.

Using the pretext of discussing the art of fragrance with Liu Yan'er, Jiang Shi was permitted into the inner chamber, while Yu Qi and Jiang Zhan had to wait outside in the guest hall, watching through the screen. Liu Yan'er used a sedative incense to knock Yu Qi and Jiang Zhan unconscious and began questioning Jiang Shi about her true purpose.

Jiang Shi lied, claiming she was Zhao Yu from the Nightingale Sect and had discovered the Saintess Totem while carrying out a mission. She questioned why this woman, who had never left Northern Zhou, would bear the Saintess Totem and asked if there were any other ways to verify the Saintess’s identity. Liu Yan'er revealed that a true Saintess could predict the future and lead Nanwu to prosperity.

However, neither of them realized that Yu Qi had not actually fallen unconscious—he had only pretended to be. He overheard every word they said. As Jiang Shi and her brother Jiang Zhan walked down the street, the county princess Cui Mingyue galloped recklessly through the marketplace, killing several people. Jiang Zhan stepped forward to stop her and demanded that she apologize. Seeing Cui Mingyue, Jiang Shi was momentarily shaken—this exact scene had played out in her previous life.

Back then, Jiang Zhan had also stood up for justice and ended up offending Cui Mingyue, which ultimately led to his death. Desperate to prevent history from repeating itself, Jiang Shi rushed forward to stop her brother from confronting Cui Mingyue. She even humbled herself, kneeling to beg for forgiveness. Enraged, Cui Mingyue attempted to trample Jiang Shi with her horse. At that moment, Yu Qi suddenly appeared, stopping Cui Mingyue and throwing her off her horse before taking her away. Meanwhile, Liu Yan'er began investigating Jiang Shi’s identity and tracked down the shop she owned. After examining the fragrance that Jiang Shi, disguised as Zhao Yu, had used, she found it remarkably similar to her own. This further fueled her suspicion that Jiang Shi might be the true Saintess.

Cui Mingyue, having overheard a conversation between her mother and father, was shocked to learn that Yu Qi was actually a prince. She also discovered her father’s connection to the Duke of Dongping’s estate. Curious, she asked Nanny Xu about the person her father truly cared about. Fearing that Cui Mingyue would retaliate against Jiang Shi, Jiang Shi ordered Jiang Zhan to stay indoors for a month for his own safety.

Initially, Jiang Zhan refused, but he eventually agreed for Jiang Shi’s sake. To help her brother protect himself, Jiang Shi sought out Master Qin Feng to teach Jiang Zhan martial arts. Through Madam Zhen’s matchmaking, Jiang Pei was introduced to an ideal husband. When the two met, they were mutually satisfied with each other. Seeing the successful match, Jiang Shi expressed her gratitude to Madam Zhen. Madam Zhen was highly impressed with Jiang Shi and openly admired her.

Seizing the opportunity, she brought up the possibility of a relationship between Jiang Shi and Zhen Hang. She even intentionally left them alone together, excusing herself.
