Si Jin Episode 15 Recap
> Si Jin Recap
To celebrate Jiang Zhan’s safe return home, Grand Madam Jiang specially hosted a family banquet and invited Yu Qi and Lu Chuchu. During the banquet, Madam Xiao originally intended to belittle Jiang Shi, but Grand Madam Jiang was very pleased with how Jiang Shi had remained composed and reasoned with the Princess Royal. Left with no choice, Madam Xiao changed the topic.
At this moment, Jiang Ancheng deliberately brought up the incident between Lu Chuchu and Jiang Zhan in the wilderness and insisted that his son take responsibility for Lu Chuchu. It turned out that Jiang Ancheng had taken a liking to Lu Chuchu and wanted her to be his daughter-in-law, making Lu Chuchu feel rather embarrassed. After this ordeal, Jiang Zhan had matured significantly, realizing that his past suffering was due to his lack of ability.
Determined to better himself, he vowed to work hard and bring honor to his family. Grand Madam Jiang was delighted to hear this, but the second branch of the Jiang family was unwilling to see Jiang Zhan become too successful. Yu Qi and Lu Chuchu, after hearing of Jiang Zhan’s determination, decided to personally train him in martial arts. However, Jiang Zhan had no interest in taking the imperial examinations and instead wished to join the Jinwu Guards.
When Jiang Shi and Lu Chuchu were alone, Jiang Shi sincerely expressed her gratitude. Lu Chuchu told Jiang Shi that everything had been arranged by Yu Qi and that Yu Qi had instructed her on what to do. Only then did Jiang Shi realize how much Yu Qi had done in silence, without ever seeking credit. She was deeply moved by this. True to his word, Jiang Zhan worked diligently, no longer slacking off.
He focused on martial arts, practiced archery and horseback riding, and made rapid progress. The Jiang family's story was even adapted by storytellers and spread throughout the city streets. Cui Mingyue was demoted from a commandery princess to a county princess and was even forced to leave Ling'an. Ji Chongyi was also severely punished and banned from taking the imperial examinations, effectively ruining his future.
Meanwhile, the Jiang family was heavily rewarded—Jiang Zhan was promoted to Jinwu Guard, and Jiang Ancheng was granted a noble title, which could be passed down for five generations. Grand Madam Jiang was overjoyed for Jiang Zhan, but Jiang Shi saw things differently. She knew that the emperor’s generosity was merely a way to pacify their family while protecting Cui Mingyue. However, Grand Madam Jiang’s attitude deeply hurt Jiang Zhan.
To her, the comfort of family didn’t seem to matter; she only saw the prestige that came from Jiang Zhan’s achievements. Feeling dejected, Jiang Zhan sat alone by the lake in frustration. Just then, Lu Chuchu found him. Since he had disappeared again, everyone was worried and searching for him. Jiang Zhan confided in Lu Chuchu about his feelings, and she shared her own experiences to comfort him. After their conversation, Jiang Zhan felt much better.
Cui Mingyue was forced to leave Ling'an. Thinking back to how Yu Qi had saved her when she fell into the water, she felt a strange emotion stir in her heart. Using the Jiang family as leverage, she demanded that Yu Qi escort her. Meanwhile, Jiang Shi decided to take everyone on a trip to celebrate. Jiang Zhan suggested they visit Lingshui—the very place Cui Mingyue had been banished to.
When Cui Mingyue saw Yu Qi, she greeted him warmly, but Yu Qi remained cold and distant, refusing to engage in idle conversation and turning to leave. Cui Mingyue revealed Yu Qi’s true identity in an attempt to threaten him. She also confessed her feelings and tried to tempt him with promises of a bright future, but Yu Qi remained unmoved.
Realizing that Jiang Shi was the reason for his indifference, Cui Mingyue then threatened him with Jiang Shi, but Yu Qi still did not waver. While walking through the streets, Lu Chuchu ran into A’Man and heard that Cui Mingyue would soon depart for Lingshui. She rushed ahead to a fork in the road and secretly switched the direction signs.
Meanwhile, Yu Qi discovered that the official who had submitted a memorial accusing him of being an ominous figure was also in Lingshui. Remembering Jiang Shi’s words—that those who frame others must pay the price—he decided to investigate. On the way, he happened to encounter Jiang Shi and her companions and realized they were headed in the same direction, so they decided to travel together.
As they passed by a small river, Yu Qi and Lu Chuchu went into the water to catch fish. Jiang Zhan wanted to join them, but because of his previous experience of falling into the lake, he was still afraid of water and hesitated. While catching fish, Lu Chuchu accidentally twisted her ankle. Overcoming his fear of water, Jiang Zhan rushed into the river and carried Lu Chuchu out.
