Si Jin Episode 19 Recap
> Si Jin Recap
Madam Zhu's hostility toward Jiang Yi stemmed from her jealousy of Zhu Ziyu’s bias toward Jiang Yi, rather than any genuine desire to drive her out of the family. Zhu Ziyu, however, was disheartened upon learning this. His initial plan was to maintain his good reputation while letting his mother handle the divorce.
Now, seeing his mother unwilling to go that far, Zhu Ziyu suggested that as long as Jiang Shi remained in the house, it would continue to affect his relationship with Jiang Yi. His true intention was to persuade his mother to drive Jiang Shi away since all his previous schemes had been foiled by Jiang Shi. Only by removing Jiang Shi could he successfully get rid of Jiang Yi.
Jiang Shi, after rescuing Qing'er, finally exposed Zhu Ziyu's true face to her. Realizing how she had been used, Qing'er no longer concealed the truth and decided to help Jiang Shi. Meanwhile, Zhu Ziyu instructed Yu'er to deliver a message to the noblewoman behind the scheme. However, through Qing'er, Jiang Shi intercepted the letter and learned about the secret meeting.
Jiang Shi then devised a plan to gather Zhu Ziyu and the noblewoman together while simultaneously spreading rumors through Meng Nan. Zhu Ziyu arrived at the meeting spot, only to find out that the woman behind everything was Cui Mingyue. During the meeting, Zhu Ziyu promised Cui Mingyue that he would find a way to divorce Jiang Yi but expressed his concern about Jiang Shi and Yu Qi making it difficult for him to act.
He also promised that once everything was settled, he would eliminate both Qing'er and Yu'er to cut off any loose ends. However, unbeknownst to him, Jiang Shi and her group overheard the entire conversation. Meng Nan led a group of people to surround the courtyard where Zhu Ziyu and Cui Mingyue were meeting. Realizing that something was wrong, Cui Mingyue attempted to escape with Zhu Ziyu through the back door, but they were quickly blocked.
Cui Mingyue covered her face with a veil, and Zhu Ziyu tried to protect her by falsely claiming that she was his wife, intending to take her away. At that moment, Jiang Shi and Jiang Yi appeared, immediately exposing Zhu Ziyu’s lies. Jiang Shi stepped forward and lifted Cui Mingyue’s veil, revealing her identity to everyone. Cui Mingyue was momentarily stunned, not knowing how to react. Just then, the Grand Princess suddenly arrived with her guards.
In a moment of panic, Cui Mingyue shifted all the blame onto Zhu Ziyu, claiming that she had only just arrived in Lingnan and was deceived by him. The Grand Princess seized the opportunity to take Cui Mingyue away, but Jiang Shi stepped forward to stop her. Unwilling to back down, the Grand Princess began to pressurize Jiang Shi.
Sensing Jiang Shi was in danger, Yu Qi immediately appeared and stood by her side, forcing the Grand Princess to leave without causing further trouble. By now, Jiang Yi had completely given up any hope for her marriage. Despite Zhu Ziyu’s later attempt to apologize, Jiang Yi insisted on separation. Zhu Ziyu's parents, still feeling guilty toward Jiang Yi, were reluctant to agree to the divorce.
However, Zhu Ziyu, concerned about his own reputation, heartlessly agreed to the divorce, even abandoning his own daughter. Seeing how ruthless his son had become, Zhu Ziyu’s father was furious and turned his anger toward Madam Zhu, blaming her for spoiling him. Jiang Shi then retrieved Yu'er’s deed of sale and returned it to her, granting her freedom.
Later that night, Yu Qi captured Zhu Ziyu in an alley and severely beat him, forcing him to hand over the incriminating letter. After obtaining the letter, Yu Qi left, but Zhu Ziyu was soon dragged away by Cui Mingyue’s men. At first, Zhu Ziyu was hopeful, believing that Cui Mingyue had come to rescue him out of affection.
However, she ruthlessly humiliated him and treated him like a dog, making it clear that he had always been a mere pawn in her scheme. Under Cui Mingyue’s coercion, Zhu Ziyu was forced to hand over the letter, realizing too late how his desire for power had destroyed his entire family. Jiang Shi, in an act of kindness, made arrangements for Qing'er and Yu'er to be taken in by the Caiyun Troupe and entrusted Fei Niang to look after them.
Before parting, Fei Niang handed Jiang Shi a portrait of her mother, revealing that Jiang Shi’s mother had once saved her life. This unexpected revelation brought tears to Jiang Shi’s eyes. Jiang Shi then escorted Jiang Yi and Yan Yan back to the Jiang family. Upon learning the entire story, the Jiang Matriarch scolded Jiang Shi for making such significant decisions without informing the family. That night, Jiang Shi sat alone in the courtyard, lost in thought.
Memories from her previous life flooded her mind. She remembered how, in her past life, she had fled to Nanwu, only to receive the devastating news that Yu Qi had been killed by the Grand Princess. Her entire family had also been destroyed under the Grand Princess's schemes. Filled with hatred and despair, Jiang Shi had once led the Nanwu army into the Da Zhou Palace, personally killing the Grand Princess to avenge her family and Yu Qi.
