Si Jin Episode 25 Recap
> Si Jin Recap
Jiang Ancheng and Jiang Zhan were playing with Yanyan, while Jiang Yi sat in the Lanting Pavilion, embroidering flowers, creating a warm and harmonious scene. Since Jiang Ancheng was slightly older, he strained his back while playing and intended to call Jiang Shi over to accompany Yanyan. However, upon hearing that Jiang Shi was not in the manor but had gone to Prince Qi’s residence, he became very worried.
Jiang Ancheng initially wanted to bring Jiang Shi back but hesitated because it was a prince’s residence, making it difficult to barge in directly. He did not want his daughter to marry into the imperial family; he only wished for her to live a peaceful and happy life. To ease Jiang Ancheng’s worries, Jiang Yi told him that Jiang Shi already had someone she liked.
Jiang Ancheng was shocked upon hearing this, while Jiang Zhan kept giving Jiang Yi meaningful glances, signaling her not to reveal more. However, Yanyan, being young and quick to speak, blurted out Yu Qi’s name. Upon learning that his daughter fancied Yu Qi, Jiang Ancheng became concerned. Yu Qi was handsome and held a high status, which would attract many admirers. Jiang Ancheng feared that his daughter might suffer in the future.
At the banquet, the Crown Prince deliberately had the screen removed to put Jiang Shi in a difficult position, seeking justice for Cui Mingyue. However, Jiang Shi was not one to back down and instead countered with sharp remarks, leaving the Crown Prince humiliated. Enraged, the Crown Prince stood up, intending to hurl a bowl at Jiang Shi. At that moment, Yu Qi rose and splashed wine from his cup onto the Crown Prince’s face.
Seeing this, Prince Qi was secretly pleased. The scuffle between the princes escalated, reaching the Emperor’s ears. Furious, the Emperor wanted to punish them all. However, the eunuch Bao Ping reminded him that Yu Qi was still unranked and not officially part of the royal family, making it impossible to discipline him by royal rules. Upon hearing this, the Emperor asked Bao Ping which noble title had not yet been conferred.
Seizing the opportunity, Bao Ping mentioned the title “Yan,” and thus, the Emperor granted Yu Qi the title of Prince Yan and punished him along with the other princes. Despite being granted a title, Yu Qi was not happy. He had no desire to be entangled in royal disputes and only wanted to live as he pleased.
The Emperor advised Yu Qi that in Ling’an, many people sought to align with power, and without a title, Yu Qi would struggle to protect himself. The Emperor was particularly pleased with how the situation unfolded, as it gave him the perfect excuse to bestow a title upon the Seventh Prince. Upon returning to the palace, Consort Xian was furious with Yu Qi. She also believed that her son was unlucky, bringing punishment upon her as soon as he returned.
Jiang Ancheng wanted to investigate Yu Qi’s background and approached Zhen Hang, knowing that Zhen Hang and Yu Qi were close colleagues and should have a good understanding of him. However, Zhen Hang was unsure how to explain things to Jiang Ancheng and Jiang Zhan. Seeing Zhen Hang’s hesitation, Jiang Ancheng assumed that Yu Qi’s background was problematic.
Believing that Zhen Hang was simply too embarrassed to say it, Jiang Ancheng reassured him that as long as Yu Qi had a clean identity and treated his daughter sincerely, he would not mind his family background. Eventually, Zhen Hang revealed to Jiang Ancheng and Jiang Zhan that Yu Qi was actually the Seventh Prince. Both Jiang Ancheng and Jiang Zhan were utterly shocked by Yu Qi’s identity. However, Jiang Ancheng was not pleased by this revelation.
Yu Qi’s status was far too high—if he ever mistreated Jiang Shi, there would not even be an opportunity for divorce. Meanwhile, Jiang Shi was also deeply worried after returning home. She was unsure what kind of punishment Yu Qi would face for offending the Crown Prince on her behalf. However, upon seeing Yu Qi return unscathed, she felt relieved but still acted a bit sulky, deliberately keeping her distance from him.
Jiang Zhan confronted Lu Chuchu, blaming her for not informing him about Yu Qi’s true identity and their sworn brotherhood. Hearing this, Lu Chuchu felt disappointed and angry. That night, Jiang Shi looked at the wooden puppet Yu Qi had given her and recalled their intertwined fates in the past life. She worried whether they could truly be together in this lifetime.
The next day, Yu Qi wanted to visit Jiang Shi, but he was stopped by the eunuch Bao Ping, who took him to see the newly prepared Prince Yan’s residence. Xie Yinlou resigned from his post as a captain in Lingshui, intending to settle in Ling’an and continue pursuing Jiang Yi. However, due to past experiences, Jiang Yi had lost all hope in romance and felt content with her current life.
Despite this, Xie Yinlou remained steadfast in his determination to wait for her. Prince Qi deliberately reminded the Jiang family of his invitation for Jiang Shi. Old Madam Jiang was pleased and wanted Jiang Shi to attend, but Jiang Ancheng was reluctant. He believed that noble families like Prince Qi’s would only bring suffering to his daughter if she married into them. That night, Yu Qi and Jiang Shi arranged to meet through messages delivered by Aman and Long Dan.
However, Long Dan misunderstood Yu Qi’s words, which led to Jiang Shi getting angry and storming off. Upon hearing of Yu Qi’s return, the Crown Prince immediately sought out the Eldest Princess to discuss countermeasures. Meanwhile, Cui Mingyue, upon learning that Prince Qi was hosting a banquet and planning to find Yu Qi a suitable match, also wanted to attend. The Eldest Princess realized that Cui Mingyue had taken a liking to Yu Qi and strongly opposed it.
However, the Crown Prince was willing to let Cui Mingyue pursue Yu Qi, hoping to use this to win him over. As Jiang Shi prepared to attend the banquet at Prince Qi’s residence, she encountered Ji Chongyi’s sister, Ji Fanghua, and the Prime Minister’s granddaughter, Kou Lingbo, at the entrance. The two intended to humiliate Jiang Shi but ended up being put in their place by her. The banquet officially began, and Prince Qi enthusiastically entertained the guests.
However, the Crown Prince unexpectedly arrived. Once there, he deliberately caused trouble during the banquet and attempted to make things difficult for Yu Qi, but Yu Qi managed to handle the situation effortlessly.
