At night, Yu Qi and Jiang Shi bought gifts for their return visit. Yu Qi valued Jiang Shi greatly and bought many gifts, still feeling they were not enough. Jiang Shi was delighted, but she suddenly saw Du Er and found an excuse to send Yu Qi away so she could meet Du Er alone.

When they met, Du Er told Jiang Shi that he had uncovered her identity as the Holy Maiden and wanted to take her back to Nanwu. Jiang Shi refused to leave and urged Du Er to leave quickly. However, Du Er insisted on staying, waiting until Jiang Shi was willing to return to Nanwu with him. The next day, Yu Qi and Jiang Shi officially returned home, and the Jiang family treated them with great importance.

Jiang Shi, now a princess consort, was given newfound respect, especially from the Jiang Matriarch, whose attitude had changed significantly. Upon their return, everyone was happy, but as Aman packed Jiang Shi’s belongings to move them to the prince's residence, she couldn't help but feel sentimental. After all, Jiang Shi had lived in this house for over a decade, and suddenly moving out left her feeling nostalgic.

Jiang Shi reassured Aman that, even after leaving, her uncle’s home would always be hers, and she could return anytime if she missed it. Jiang Yi personally sewed a pair of mandarin duck-patterned quilts as a gift for Jiang Shi. Taking this opportunity, Jiang Shi told Jiang Yi about what had happened on Zhu Ziyu’s wedding night. Since the Grand Princess’s residence had sealed off all information, Jiang Yi was unaware of the events.

Upon hearing that Zhu Ziyu had killed Cui Mingyue and then set himself on fire, Jiang Yi couldn't help but feel sorrowful. She recalled when Zhu Ziyu had come to see the child, and she had warned him about Cui Mingyue’s intentions against the Jiang family. She now believed that Zhu Ziyu had ultimately sacrificed himself to eliminate Cui Mingyue in order to protect his child. That night, Yu Qi happily returned to the room.

Jiang Shi, looking at her surroundings, felt a little melancholic and told Yu Qi that she was reluctant to leave home so suddenly. Yu Qi understood her feelings well and promised that she could return home often. To cheer her up, he led Jiang Shi into the courtyard and surprised her with a romantic gesture.

Meanwhile, the Grand Princess learned that when Jiang Shi was treating Princess Fuqing’s eyes, it was Granny Duo who personally took her to the Imperial Pharmacy to collect the medicine. The Grand Princess found it strange and wondered what method Jiang Shi had used to win Granny Duo over. She ordered people to keep an eye on Granny Duo and waited for an opportunity to capture her.

She also began suspecting that Jiang Shi might have ties to Nanwu and instructed her trusted aide, Nineteen, to watch over Jiang Shi closely. While Yu Qi and Jiang Shi were strolling through the market, they noticed someone following them. Jiang Shi suspected that the Grand Princess was beginning to doubt her identity. Worried about Granny Duo and Madam Xiao’s safety, she wanted to send people to protect them.

Although Madam Xiao and Jiang Pei no longer lived as luxuriously as before, they had at least found peace. While they were happily organizing their clothes, imperial guards suddenly barged into Madam Xiao’s residence. Realizing that these men had likely been sent by the Grand Princess, Madam Xiao told Jiang Pei to flee while she stayed behind to hold them off. In the end, she sacrificed herself, holding out until reinforcements arrived.

Jiang Shi anxiously waited at home, but only Jiang Pei returned. Upon learning that Madam Xiao had been killed, Jiang Shi was heartbroken. Knowing that her identity would eventually be exposed, she decided that she had to take action. Since Jiang Anmou had been persistently begging Jiang Shi to have Yu Qi help him with a border matter, Jiang Shi used this as an excuse to sever ties with her family—her true intention being to protect them.

Granny Duo secretly left the palace to meet Du Er. Du Er proposed inciting chaos at the border, as Yu Qi, being the leader of the Chiyu Cavalry, would have to return, and Jiang Shi would surely follow. At that time, bringing Jiang Shi back to Nanwu would be much easier. On their journey back, the Grand Princess’s elite guards attempted to capture Granny Duo, but Du Er and Long Dan appeared simultaneously and rescued her.

Upon returning to the prince's residence, Jiang Yi and Jiang Zhan had already arrived. Since they shared deep bonds, they were unwilling to cut ties. However, to protect her family, Jiang Shi had no choice but to act ruthlessly. Meanwhile, the Grand Princess ordered a search for Granny Duo in the palace but found nothing.

Granny Duo sought out the Empress and Princess Fuqing and confessed that she was the one who had poisoned the late Empress and caused Princess Fuqing’s blindness. Following Jiang Shi’s plan, the Empress sent Granny Duo to the Crown Prince’s residence.
