Ski into Love Recap

Episode 1 Recap

Wei Zhi was a comic artist with delicate, porcelain-like skin and stunning beauty, exuding both elegance and a mischievous charm. With her natural beauty, she could easily take shortcuts to success, but she was determined to rely on her talent. She spent her days hunched over her computer, meticulously drawing her comics, and even in her dreams, she was surrounded by the characters she created.

Despite her dedication, her boss always took her work for granted, frequently calling her to attend inexplicable dinner gatherings. This time, Boss Wang once again asked her to join a dinner, claiming it was with an investor and she needed to get there immediately. Unable to defy authority, Wei Zhi rushed to the scene.

However, during the dinner, she overheard the investor admitting that they had never even seen their comic style but were only interested in their promising data, which was why they were offering an investment. Disappointed, Wei Zhi suddenly received news that a short video about their studio had gone viral, accusing their team of being irresponsible and claiming that some of their comic characters were AI-generated.

Wei Zhi was shocked by these false accusations — she had personally hand-drawn every single stroke — how could someone throw dirt on her like this? Wei Zhi tried to explain the situation to her boss, but he refused to listen, immediately instructing her to issue a public apology and pin the blame on her assistant for the alleged AI generation. Wei Zhi strongly disagreed — the assistant was innocent, and she refused to let her take the fall.

Furious, the boss reminded her that the comic was no longer just her personal work but represented the company's collective effort. Because of her refusal to comply, the boss coldly dismissed her on the spot. With her job lost, Wei Zhi had no choice but to find another way to make a living. She printed out her previous works and set up a street stall near an anime exhibition, hoping to sell her comics.

Yet her former boss was relentless, even filing a complaint against her for infringement, causing her stall to be suddenly searched and investigated. Just when she was at her wit's end, a young man with strikingly handsome features appeared. This man was Shan Chong. In the past, Shan Chong had worked part-time in a plush bear costume, and two mischievous kids once spilled ice cream all over him.

Wei Zhi had fiercely scolded the kids and then carefully wiped the ice cream off the "bear's" costume. At that time, Shan Chong, hidden beneath the thick headgear, was extremely grateful to Wei Zhi and deeply imprinted her adorable face in his memory. Now, seeing his former benefactor struggling, he naturally stepped in to help — not only did he buy a large number of her comics, but he also purchased her second-hand drawing tablet without hesitation.

As Wei Zhi was leaving the exhibition, she was captivated by a huge screen on the wall, which played a video of Shan Chong skiing. His movements were smooth, powerful, and incredibly cool, instantly capturing her heart. Wei Zhi had never imagined skiing could look so stylish, and a sudden inspiration struck her — what if she reworked her comic and made the male lead a skilled skier? The story would undoubtedly become even more interesting.

She excitedly shared the idea with her best friends, who all supported her decision. Although she had just experienced a massive career setback, she still felt fortunate to have such wonderful friends by her side. To gather more creative inspiration, Wei Zhi signed up for a ski training class. Coincidentally, Shan Chong recognized her at first glance during the class. Upon hearing her name for the first time, he immediately claimed her under his wing and voluntarily became her coach. At that moment, Wei Zhi was still unaware that this cold and handsome young man had already taken a liking to her days ago.

Episode 2 Recap

Perhaps all handsome men with a cool demeanor have a warm heart deep down. However, Shan Chong showed no enthusiasm toward the beginner Wei Zhi. He constantly increased the difficulty of her training without prior notice and often made sarcastic remarks. For example, he once asked her whether talent or hard work was more important. Wei Zhi thought for a moment and answered that hard work was more valuable.

Unexpectedly, Shan Chong retorted that, in fact, Wei Zhi did have a talent for skiing — because her slightly chubby figure provided thicker fat, making her more resistant to falls. Wei Zhi couldn't believe she had just heard such an outrageous answer, but being thick-skinned and resilient, she quickly shrugged it off. Soon, they entered the training area. Shan Chong, with zero mercy, set ambitious training goals for Wei Zhi.

However, every step she took ended up with a hard fall. Her body had countless intimate encounters with the ground, especially her poor hips. After countless tumbles, Wei Zhi secretly made up her mind to shorten her training time as much as possible. She discreetly called her best friend, Jiang Nanfeng, asking about her skiing experience and what her coach was like.

To her shock, Jiang Nanfeng gushed with excitement, saying she adored her coach because he was very caring, considerate, and never let her fall. Hearing this, Wei Zhi instantly questioned — was her best friend really practicing skiing? Later, in the restroom, Wei Zhi’s ski goggles got splashed with water. Unable to find her glasses cloth, she was momentarily at a loss. Just then, someone wearing a mask handed her a glasses cloth.

Wei Zhi froze when she noticed the person's wristband — it was identical to the one on the poster of the skiing prince she had been mesmerized by. Her eyes widened in disbelief. Although her best friend always joked that she was face-blind, she could never forget the young man's wristband from the poster. Wei Zhi clutched the cloth like a treasure. Meanwhile, Shan Chong watched her reaction, confused, unaware that she hadn’t recognized him as her coach.

After a night of rest, Wei Zhi didn’t give up. She returned to the training ground the next day, showing up on time for her class. Shan Chong was surprised — he had assumed that after yesterday’s falls, she would have quit by now. But seeing her again, he silently resumed his role as her personal coach. Wei Zhi, remembering how indifferent he was the day before, did not seem particularly enthusiastic toward him. However, she remained polite.

Watching her lukewarm attitude, Shan Chong immediately realized that Wei Zhi still hadn’t recognized him. With a helpless shake of his head, he decided to wait patiently until she finally figured it out. Later, when Wei Zhi and Jiang Nanfeng took the cable car together, Jiang Nanfeng casually asked about Wei Zhi’s coach. The moment she heard the answer, she immediately understood who Shan Chong was — he was the very poster prince Wei Zhi had been obsessed with.

Amused, Jiang Nanfeng chose to keep this a secret but still kindly advised Wei Zhi to get along better with her coach, subtly hinting that a good relationship would be beneficial for her training. Meanwhile, after firing Wei Zhi, Boss Wang noticed the rising popularity of skiing and instantly ordered the team to wrap up Wei Zhi’s original comic series Farewell Song.

In light of the skiing craze, Boss Wang instructed the team to shift their creative direction to focus on winter sports content. Although the team members were dissatisfied, they ultimately chose to comply with the boss’s demands to avoid suffering the same fate as Wei Zhi.

Episode 3 Recap

This time, Wei Zhi and her best friend set off for training again. While they were on the cable car, Wei Zhi coincidentally heard Shan Chong and another coach’s phone ring at the same time. It turned out that the coach group chat had caught wind that Shan Chong had recently recruited a cute and soft newbie girl, so they urged him to add Wei Zhi to the group chat.

However, Shan Chong pretended not to notice and deliberately ignored it. That day, the training took on a new mode. A long-time rival who had always doubted Shan Chong's title as the "King of Skiing" appeared on the mountain, intending to challenge him to a duel. Everyone's eyes lit up — they finally had a chance to witness the elegance of the ski king up close. The crowd instantly turned into enthusiastic cheerleaders, eager to see the showdown.

Shan Chong agreed to the challenge without hesitation. Upon seeing his opponent wearing an extremely cool pair of ski goggles, Shan Chong immediately thought about how Wei Zhi never even had the heart to buy herself a decent pair of goggles. On a whim, he declared that if he won the match, he wanted the opponent's goggles as his reward. Within minutes, Shan Chong effortlessly secured his victory.

Without any hesitation, he walked up and directly took the goggles off his opponent's head as promised. Jiang Nanfeng was present at the scene and recorded the entire thrilling competition on her phone. She initially thought that once Wei Zhi saw the video, she would instantly recognize that the skillful young skier in the video was the very poster prince she had been obsessed with.

However, to her disbelief, Wei Zhi watched the video in awe and raved about how amazing the ski king was — without realizing that her coach was the same person she had been crushing on. The next morning, Shan Chong showed up early at the training ground, holding the ski goggles he had won in the competition, intending to give them to Wei Zhi as a surprise.

However, when he overheard Wei Zhi still clueless about his true identity and fantasizing about her "poster prince," he was left completely speechless. In the end, he chose not to give her the goggles. The person who challenged Shan Chong was Dai Duo, a free-spirited and charming skier who always ended up losing to Shan Chong, which left him slightly bitter. Unable to swallow his defeat, Dai Duo vented his frustration to Shan Chong's sister over the phone.

Soon after, Shan Chong received a call from his sister, who was an avid comic fan. The first thing she complained about was how the art style of her favorite comic artist, Ah Zhai, had suddenly changed. Then she curiously gossiped about why Shan Chong had taken Dai Duo's goggles. Shan Chong wasn’t interested in Dai Duo's complaints but was instead intrigued when his sister mentioned the change in the comic style.

Glancing toward Wei Zhi in the distance, he wondered if she was working on a new story inspired by their time here. Wei Zhi, still unaware that Shan Chong was the "poster prince," continued to grumble about his poor coaching ability, claiming that his bad temper and lack of professional teaching skills were the reason she kept falling. On top of that, she shamelessly expressed her desire to get in touch with the ski king and obtain his contact information.

However, fate intervened. One day, by chance, Wei Zhi spotted the exact same wristband on Shan Chong’s arm — identical to the one her "poster prince" wore. In an instant, her face flushed red. All the complaints and grumbling she had made earlier now seemed like a huge embarrassment, given that the person she admired was the one she had been bad-mouthing all along. Wei Zhi stammered an apology and questioned why Shan Chong didn’t reveal his identity earlier.

Shan Chong was utterly speechless. Out of everyone in the entire training ground, she was the only one who didn’t recognize him — and he was her coach, no less. It was hard to find a more "visually impaired" person than her. Regardless, the misunderstanding was finally cleared up, and Shan Chong secretly rejoiced.

Wei Zhi had always worried that the ski king wouldn’t like a fan like her, but Shan Chong wished he could tell her — she had no idea how long the ski king had secretly admired her. One day, Wei Zhi accidentally sat on her little turtle plush toy and ripped it apart. Without hesitation, Shan Chong personally sewed it back together for her.

When his roommates witnessed the "ski king" skillfully threading a needle and patching up a plush toy, they were completely dumbfounded — as if they had discovered a whole new side of him. The next day, when Wei Zhi received her perfectly repaired plush toy, her roommate specifically reminded her to cherish it — after all, this was a handmade item from a true legend.

Episode 4 Recap

Ever since Wei Zhi discovered Shan Chong’s true identity, she became even more enthusiastic about skiing. Whenever she had free time, she would suggest making Shan Chong the male protagonist of her comic series. However, Shan Chong rejected her every time—he always acted based on his own mood and had no interest in any so-called "male lead aura. "She never expected that signing up for skiing lessons would lead her to meet the ski prince from the poster.

This realization energized Wei Zhi every day. One day, Shan Chong suggested that she invest in professional sports gear, such as ski clothing, boots, and goggles. Previously, Wei Zhi had been reluctant to spend money on such things, but now that she was serious about training, she decided to splurge. She went shopping for equipment with her best friend and Shan Chong. It was her first time in a ski gear specialty store, and many things were unfamiliar to her.

When she saw Shan Chong asking the shopkeeper if they had protective pads, the shopkeeper nodded mysteriously and quickly returned with two silicone pads. Wei Zhi's eyes widened in shock. The flesh-colored silicone pads were firm and oddly sensual, making her blush. Were these… chest pads for protection? When the shop owner asked Shan Chong which size he wanted, Shan Chong glanced at her seriously before calmly choosing the largest size. Wei Zhi nearly fainted.

Seeing her expression, Shan Chong quickly clarified that they were just regular knee pads and told her not to misunderstand. While shopping for clothes, Shan Chong ran into Hua Yan, another one of his students. Relying on his strong connections, Hua Yan always spoke boldly and never held back when talking to Shan Chong.

When he saw Wei Zhi, he shot her a glance filled with ambiguous meaning and casually asked the people beside him if she was Shan Chong’s new little junior. Shan Chong picked out a pair of ice skates that he believed would be perfect for Wei Zhi’s current training. Without hesitation, he took them from a spot right next to Hua Yan and handed them to Wei Zhi.

To keep Hua Yan from getting upset, Shan Chong immediately offered to teach an additional training session. Hua Yan, delighted, eagerly agreed. Meanwhile, Wei Zhi stood there sulking—shouldn’t Shan Chong at least consult her before making training arrangements with other students? Frustrated, Wei Zhi called him out on the spot, saying that he was completely unreliable. She even declared that she would no longer train at this ski resort and would find another place to practice.

That night, Wei Zhi vented her anger by drawing two sulking little figures in her comic. Just a few days ago, she had been overjoyed to discover that Shan Chong was the ski prince, but today, she was fuming, her lips pouting so much they could reach the sky. The next morning, having stayed up all night drawing, Wei Zhi overslept.

She immediately called her best friend to ask if she wanted to train together, but her friend had just gone through a thrilling night of "tangled bedsheets" and was suffering from lower back pain, so she flatly refused. Wei Zhi put on her ski gear, grabbed her snowboard, and headed out alone. Today was supposed to be Shan Chong’s lesson with Hua Yan, so Wei Zhi, still fuming, decided to practice by herself.

Following the training videos that Shan Chong had previously sent her, she clumsily ventured onto an advanced ski trail. Shan Chong had repeatedly warned her never to go there without proper skills, but at that moment, Wei Zhi was too angry to care and completely ignored his advice. As a result, her phone slipped from her hands and fell to the ground. On her way back, she lost her balance and took a nasty fall.

Episode 5 Recap

When Wei Zhi woke up, she found herself lying safely in a hospital room. In her dream, she had thought it was the end for her, even imagining someone who looked just like Shan Chong coming to take her away. She had assumed he was an angel sent by God to escort her to the afterlife. Fortunately, when she opened her eyes, she realized she was still alive. Shan Chong, sitting beside her, did not scold her much.

After the nurse examined her and placed a bandage on the injured heel, she was discharged. Since Wei Zhi had trouble walking, Shan Chong simply carried her on his back. It had been a long time since she felt the sensation of both feet leaving the ground—especially on such a steady and reliable back. She felt incredibly safe. When Jiang Nanfeng heard that Wei Zhi had fallen, she rushed over in a panic.

Through Jiang Nanfeng, Wei Zhi learned that Lao Yan and a few others had gone to the venue to investigate. It turned out that the substitute coach Wei Zhi had temporarily switched to had left as soon as the training session was over, leaving her alone on the ski trail, which led to the accident. Outraged, Lao Yan decided to confront the coach for leaving his junior sister in danger.

Fearing that Shan Chong would get into a fight and lose his coaching qualifications because of her, Wei Zhi quickly tried to stop him. However, Shan Chong calmly explained that there was no problem—because he no longer had any qualifications to lose. Back at home, Wei Zhi browsed through old videos and records of Shan Chong. She couldn’t understand why someone so skilled had retired. She felt a deep sense of regret.

If she wanted to know the truth, she would have to ask him directly. However, she didn’t press the issue. Exhausted from the day, she quickly fell into a deep sleep. The next day, Shan Chong took the initiative to pick Wei Zhi up for training. Considering her injured foot, he specially found an electric scooter—it was much better than carrying her the whole way. Today was the scheduled PK (challenge match) between Lao Yan and Wan Tong Hall’s Lao K.

Lao K arrived with a group of disciples in a grand and imposing manner. However, Shan Chong had no interest in participating himself and simply let his own student compete in his place. Within less than three minutes, the Wan Tong Hall disciples were completely defeated. Humiliated, they left in shame. Afterward, Shan Chong had a brief warm-up match with his own student. This was the first time Wei Zhi had the chance to watch him compete in person.

She was amazed by his agility, swift reflexes, and the sheer elegance of his movements. His every move was effortlessly cool. By the time the match ended, Wei Zhi was nearly moved to tears—this was the hero she had always admired, and now, he had become her coach. It was almost too good to be true. Wu Dajing, who had once been Shan Chong’s coach, happened to visit the ski resort that day and saw the match.

He encouraged Shan Chong to return to professional training. Last year, Shan Chong had suffered a minor mistake that led to a back injury, which still left lingering aftereffects. After retiring, he had taken on various jobs, such as distributing flyers and working in sales. Yet, in the end, he realized that nothing brought him the same joy as soaring down the slopes.

If there was any happiness after retirement, it was meeting Wei Zhi—this mischievous, lively girl who had brought him so much joy and excitement. Training at the ski resort was only a temporary break. Wei Zhi and Jiang Nanfeng decided to leave the next day and planned to visit the ice rink to say their goodbyes. Jiang Nanfeng even arranged for Wei Zhi and Shan Chong to have some alone time together.

That evening, Wei Zhi and Shan Chong had hotpot together, but she noticed that Shan Chong seemed a bit down. He admitted that he had never had a student like her before—one who hadn’t even properly learned to ski before deciding to leave. It seemed that his coaching abilities were rather limited. Wei Zhi was preparing to return to her creative work. Before leaving, she sent a message to a longtime fan who had been supporting her for years.

This fan had admired Wei Zhi for a long time and had repeatedly asked to become her apprentice. This time, Wei Zhi finally agreed to meet. Back in her room, Wei Zhi accidentally spotted the small turtle-shaped protective gear on the sofa. This had been a gift from Shan Chong, but now, it was time to return it. She called Shan Chong, only to find that he was still downstairs and hadn’t left yet. Wei Zhi took the small turtle and went downstairs, asking him if she could keep it as a gift.

Episode 6 Recap

Wei Zhi and her best friend Jiang Nanfeng were about to leave. Before departing, Wei Zhi and Shan Chong had a farewell meal together. Although it was only a few days of training, they had formed a precious friendship. Shan Chong took Wei Zhi home, and downstairs, she suppressed her overwhelming emotions and hugged him. At that moment, Shan Chong almost teared up—someone who was usually serious and reserved had actually been moved.

Lao Yan and Jiang Nanfeng had spent the night together. Although he was also a charming and warmhearted guy, he had developed feelings for her that he shouldn’t have. Lao Yan waited outside Jiang Nanfeng’s house for a long time until she finally arrived. When their eyes met, Lao Yan suddenly found himself at a loss for words, stammering. It was Jiang Nanfeng who calmly asked if he was upset because she hadn’t informed him of her decision to leave.

Lao Yan felt a sting in his nose as emotions surged. Seeing Jiang Nanfeng’s expression, he understood the unspoken rules between them. Since he had known the rules from the beginning, he shouldn't be reluctant to let go at the end. Lao Yan didn’t say anything more. Before leaving, he asked if he could at least see her off, but Jiang Nanfeng refused. The next day, Lao Yan was visibly absent-minded at the training ground.

After much hesitation, he finally gathered the courage to send Jiang Nanfeng a WeChat message, asking if she could give him another chance to get to know her again. But the moment he sent it, he discovered that he had already been deleted from her contacts. Being deleted so quickly broke Lao Yan’s heart. What Jiang Nanfeng didn’t know was that this wasn’t actually the first time they had met. Many years ago, they had been classmates.

Back then, the radiant Jiang Nanfeng would stand on stage giving speeches, and Lao Yan had silently admired her from afar. But as time passed, they drifted apart. He never imagined that years later, they would reunite at the ski training ground. At that time, Lao Yan had been so happy he could hardly believe it. Wei Zhi had previously arranged to meet up with a fan for a short trip to the northeast.

Unexpectedly, that fan turned out to be Shan Chong’s younger sister, Shan Shan. When Wei Zhi got off the car and saw Shan Shan sitting in a wheelchair, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. However, Shan Shan greeted her cheerfully and took out their first-ever photo together. It was from when they met at an anime convention.

Back then, Shan Shan’s love for Wei Zhi’s artistic style and encouragement had given Wei Zhi confidence in her own choices. Shan Shan took Wei Zhi to visit her favorite childhood spots and introduced her to the local specialties. Wei Zhi was overjoyed. In this snow-covered city, she felt an inexplicable sense of warmth and happiness. Shan Shan also recommended a cozy and clean local inn right next to her home.

That night, Wei Zhi sat under the warm glow of a bedside lamp, peacefully sketching her comics while still immersed in the joy of the day. The next morning, Shan Shan continued showing her around. They took photos in the small forest and played in the snow. Meanwhile, Shan Chong had taken a long leave from training to return home and rest.

When he heard that his sister was out taking photos in the woods, he felt uneasy and immediately went over to check on her—only to unexpectedly run into Wei Zhi! Seeing Wei Zhi’s back, Shan Chong felt a sour ache in his heart. Perhaps it was fate—how could he meet her again in his hometown? Wei Zhi was taking photos when, through the camera lens, she suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar figure.

Focusing her gaze, she realized—it was really him! That evening, Shan Shan invited Wei Zhi to visit their home. It was her first time meeting Shan Chong’s family. His parents were incredibly kind, which explained how they had raised such a bright and optimistic girl like Shan Shan, as well as Shan Chong, a coach with such strong principles. Shan Chong’s parents were warm hosts, but Wei Zhi wasn’t quite used to the local cuisine.

Later that night, feeling a little hungry, she stepped outside—just in time to run into Shan Chong. Without hesitation, Shan Chong took her out for hotpot.

Episode 7 Recap

After dinner, Shan Chong and Wei Zhi went for a walk to help with digestion. Nearby, someone was setting off fireworks. Excited, Wei Zhi ran over to watch but didn’t notice a firecracker being lit right beside her. In a split second, Shan Chong covered her ears to protect them from the noise. At that moment, Wei Zhi’s heart raced wildly—she was so thrilled that her idol had so considerately shielded her ears.

After an unforgettable night, it was time to part ways. Wei Zhi dragged her suitcase and took a photo of the small cabin from the night before as a memento. She looked regretfully toward Shan Shan’s house when she suddenly heard someone calling her from behind—it was Shan Shan and Shan Chong! The two of them were in the car, ready to personally drive her to the airport.

Wei Zhi’s gloomy face instantly brightened, and she happily carried her luggage over. All good things must come to an end. After leaving the airport, Shan Chong felt a sense of loss. His sister showed him a photo she had taken of the two of them earlier. Through the camera lens, they looked like a perfect match—such a great pair! Shan Chong smiled, and his sister caught that fleeting expression.

She could tell that her brother really liked the talented Wei Zhi. Dai Duo and the coach arrived at Shan Chong’s house one after another. The two had been old neighbors for years, and Dai Duo had always kept in touch with Shan Shan—their relationship was very close. During dinner, the coach kept trying to persuade Shan Chong to return to the competition scene, but he seemed extremely resistant to the idea.

His mother also didn’t want him to compete again. In his last match, a minor mistake had nearly resulted in a broken back. For the sake of her son’s safety, as a mother, she couldn’t bear to see him continue with such high-risk training. As night fell, Shan Shan sat alone by the window, gazing into the vast darkness outside, lost in thought. In reality, her brother’s injury was partly because of her.

Back then, in order to raise money for Shan Shan’s expensive prosthetic limb, Shan Chong had intensified his training, hoping to win a competition as soon as possible. However, he overexerted himself and suffered a severe back injury, ultimately forcing him to retire. Thinking about it now, Shan Shan still felt deeply saddened. Shan Chong was incredibly talented at skiing, but it was a pity that he had to give it up halfway.

Wei Zhi returned to Shanghai, where Jiang Nanfeng’s older brother, Jiang Yiming, personally drove to pick her up. Jiang Yiming was also a returnee from overseas, but his admiration for Wei Zhi remained as unwavering as ever. This time, he arrived at the airport early, prepared with flowers and gifts, publicly expressing his enthusiasm. This caused many onlookers to cheer him on, encouraging a proposal. Embarrassed, Wei Zhi quickly hid in the car. Wei Zhi came from a wealthy family.

Her mother was a typical workaholic, and in Wei Zhi’s memory, her mother had always been a strong, career-driven woman who rushed to work every day, never having time to play with her. Instead, it was her beloved manga books that had always been there, silently accompanying her and filling the void left by her mother’s absence. Perhaps without her mother’s strong financial support, she wouldn’t have been able to pursue her passion for art for so long.

With graduation approaching, many of her peers were busy job hunting, while Wei Zhi continued drawing in the library. She wanted to dedicate her life to creating comics, but her mother was determined for her to return to the family business as soon as possible and become an accountant. As Jiang Yiming drove Wei Zhi home, he noticed that she kept holding her phone, smiling to herself.

Sneaking a glance, he saw that a WeChat contact named "Shifu" kept sending her messages. Curiously, he tried to probe his cousin for information, but she refused to reveal anything.

Episode 8 Recap

Wei Zhi arrived in Shanghai and immediately noticed how different the temperature was compared to the Northeast. Just yesterday, she was building snowmen there, but today, she could wear a light jacket. Jiang Yiming took her to the seaside, enthusiastically talking about his professional knowledge, while Wei Zhi remained silent, lost in her own thoughts.

She reminisced about the excitement and happiness she felt when she met Shan Chong in the Northeast, but now that she was back home, she found the sky without him felt empty. As she thought about it, she was on the verge of tears. Meanwhile, Shan Chong went on vacation with his friends, following his plan to start a new journey. On the other side, Wei Zhi attended a family dinner with Jiang Yiming’s parents.

Their two families had watched each other's children grow up and knew each other well. Since Jiang Yiming's family was also well-off and highly regarded Wei Zhi, they believed their union would be perfect. However, Wei Zhi had never harbored romantic feelings for Jiang Yiming, whereas he remained as passionate as ever. Taking advantage of the family gathering, he made a special effort to impress her.

Jiang Yiming’s mother deliberately brought up childhood memories, mentioning how Wei Zhi often visited their home and once called Jiang Yiming handsome. Wei Zhi immediately refuted it, saying that was all in the past. Her mother shot her a disapproving look. Wei Zhi’s mother had never had any expectations for her academic achievements, but seeing her graduate from university only to continue drawing comics—completely ignoring the family business—made her feel that Wei Zhi was being foolish.

She frequently tried to stop Wei Zhi from picking up her pen to draw, so Wei Zhi did her best to avoid her mother. After dinner, Jiang Yiming insisted on driving Wei Zhi home. He noticed that she was distracted throughout the meal, constantly holding her phone and only half paying attention. It made him suspect that she had someone she liked. Wei Zhi found an excuse to refuse his offer and took a taxi instead.

During their time apart, both Wei Zhi and Shan Chong felt incredibly lonely, as if their phones were their only connection. They would feel anxious when they didn’t see a message from the other and ecstatic when they received a reply. Wei Zhi even dreamed about Shan Chong, where the two of them embraced happily, and she eagerly anticipated a romantic "kabedon" from him. But just as the moment was about to happen, reality pulled her back.

With one in the South and the other in the North, when would their paths cross again? Wei Zhi continued working on her comic, but her mother couldn't help but worry about her marriage. She had selected several candidates, with Jiang Yiming being the most outstanding. However, Wei Zhi seemed completely uninterested, especially during their last dinner when she kept staring at her phone, as if she had no intention of engaging in the matter at all.

Completing her work alone proved to be a challenge for Wei Zhi. She began reaching out to former team members she had collaborated with in her previous company. However, after she was dismissed, many of them had moved on to new jobs. Having switched industries, they no longer wanted to return to comic creation, viewing it as an exhausting field that could only be a hobby at best. Without her creative team, Wei Zhi felt deeply saddened.

She thought about her mentor, Octopus Sensei, who had once given her invaluable guidance and advice. Now that he was no longer by her side, she wondered if he was doing well in the company. During the day, Wei Zhi went to meet her former colleague "Elephant. " Upon hearing Elephant’s refusal to collaborate, Wei Zhi, though disappointed, still returned the hand-drawn sketches she had treasured. Seeing the letter Wei Zhi left behind, Elephant reminisced about their time working together. Finally, she picked up her phone and called Wei Zhi—she had decided to continue working with her.

Episode 9 Recap

The company that fired Wei Zhi had been performing poorly lately. Although Wu Manman took over as the writer for "Fei Zhai" (Fat Otaku), the original creator of the "Li Ge" (Farewell Song) concept was Wei Zhi. As a result, many details lacked the deep emotional connection needed. When Octopus Sensei talked to her about it, Wu Manman, feeling sensitive, assumed he was criticizing her creative flaws. Reacting defensively, she snapped back at him and then stormed off.

Shan Chong invited Wei Zhi to Xicheng for ice skating, but she was still focused on her work. Meanwhile, Wu Manman sought out Elephant, hoping she could help with the company’s next project. However, Elephant had already chosen to work with Wei Zhi and had no intention of collaborating with Wu Manman. By accident, Wu Manman learned that Wei Zhi's next project was related to skiing. Determined to prove her abilities, Wu Manman decided to work on a similar theme.

Realizing she had accidentally spilled the news, Elephant immediately informed Wei Zhi. However, Wei Zhi didn’t mind—she wasn’t concerned about having the same theme, as it was the story that truly showcased one’s skills. Wei Zhi wanted to travel to Xicheng for inspiration and initially tried to discuss it with her mother. However, her mother strongly disapproved of her career, believing that the comic industry was struggling and that Wei Zhi had already spent years on it without significant success.

She reminded Wei Zhi that at twenty-five, she was at a critical age and hoped she would focus on something more practical, like other ordinary girls. Since the conversation with her mother didn’t go well, Wei Zhi decided to leave quietly on her own. Jiang Yiming, seeing how upset Wei Zhi was after the argument with her mother, couldn't stop worrying about her. He pulled Jiang Nanfeng along to check on her.

Jiang Nanfeng noticed that Wei Zhi had taken her newly ordered skateboard with her and immediately guessed that she must have gone back to Xicheng. At Xicheng Airport, the moment Wei Zhi got off the plane, she saw Shan Chong. It felt like a dream. Overjoyed, she ran straight to him and excitedly hugged her shifu. Shan Chong was also delighted and immediately took her back to the training base. Among the group, Wei Zhi paid special attention to Lao Yan.

Strangely, he didn’t mention Jiang Nanfeng at all—weren’t they always very close? Regardless, this time in Xicheng, Shan Chong seemed different from his usual cold and serious self. Instead, he was more cheerful and even spoke more gently to Wei Zhi during training. Outside of practice, the two of them joined the others for tea and played Truth or Dare. Shan Chong treated her with extra care, and the group as a whole looked after their little shimei.

Surrounded by such a happy atmosphere, Wei Zhi found herself bursting with inspiration, producing an endless stream of new works every day. Being in Xicheng gave Wei Zhi many new insights into her comic characters, and her drawing style became more refined. The skaters at the rink noticed a Weibo address in her work and began speculating whether a comic artist was nearby.

Only Shan Chong understood that Wei Zhi had fully tapped into her potential under the influence of her surroundings. Given enough time, she was sure to create something outstanding. The time spent in Xicheng was the simplest and happiest. When exhausted from drawing, Wei Zhi would go to the training ground to skate with her shifu. When she wasn’t tired, she would continue working on her comics. In her free time, she even learned how to brew coffee.

One day, she carefully prepared her first-ever cup of coffee and excitedly presented it to Shan Chong, sweetly calling out for him to come and drink it. Shan Chong was nearly melted by her warmth, and from then on, he wore a smile on his face every single day.

Episode 10 Recap

Shan Chong knew that Wei Zhi was working on a story about a "Ski Prince. " To provide her with more rich material, he specially introduced her to a legendary figure in the skiing world. When Wei Zhi first heard about someone skydiving from a plane and then continuing to snowboard upon landing, her eyes widened in shock. It turned out that those seemingly agile and graceful athletes trained with such intensity.

If not for their deep passion, their training would truly be a matter of life and death. Shan Chong actively sought out top professionals for Wei Zhi, even leveraging his own connections to introduce her to valuable resources. However, Wei Zhi thought to herself that she already had the perfect inspiration for her male protagonist. Every time she saw him, every expression and smile of his made her happy.

During the day, she trained in skiing with her shifu, then continued working on her comic. She enjoyed every moment of the process—it was her source of inspiration. One of Shan Chong’s friends accidentally took a candid photo of him and Wei Zhi together. The two of them were smiling sweetly, looking perfectly in sync. By mistake, instead of sending a planned video to Shan Chong, his friend accidentally shared the photo in their group chat, triggering a heated discussion.

Everyone was very enthusiastic about the little shimei by Shan Chong’s side, showering praise on the beautiful couple. Seeing the endless stream of comments below, Wei Zhi turned red with embarrassment. Jiang Nanfeng sent Wei Zhi a WeChat message, telling her she would receive a huge surprise in five hours. Wei Zhi went to Shan Chong’s room next door to borrow a car so she could pick up Jiang Nanfeng.

Since Shan Chong's door wasn’t closed, when she walked in, she happened to see him stepping out of the bathroom in his pajamas, fresh from a shower. Wei Zhi unintentionally caught sight of a long scar on his chest and gasped in shock—how did he get such a long scar? Shan Chong immediately pulled his shirt up to cover it, handed her the car keys, and said nothing more.

When the two best friends met at the airport, they hugged each other excitedly, almost bursting with joy. But just as they were about to celebrate, Jiang Yiming suddenly stepped out from behind Jiang Nanfeng. It turned out he had rushed over from Shanghai as well! Jiang Nanfeng secretly whispered to Wei Zhi that if it weren’t for Jiang Yiming’s help, the person she’d be seeing now would have been her terrifying mother instead.

Jiang Yiming was so happy to see Wei Zhi that he could barely blink. He had taken a long leave just to stay with her and immediately booked a room nearby after promising that he wouldn’t interfere with her work. Wei Zhi, knowing about Jiang Nanfeng’s relationship with Lao Yan, asked her outright if Lao Yan had mentioned her.

Jiang Nanfeng didn’t hold back and asked Lao Yan directly, but Wei Zhi admitted that although he hadn’t brought her up, it seemed like he was deliberately avoiding the topic. That night, Wei Zhi added a scar identical to Shan Chong’s on her comic’s male protagonist’s chest. She was very curious about how her shifu got that scar—could it have something to do with his retirement?

Meanwhile, one of Shan Chong’s friends used a nearby-friend feature on an app and discovered that a local comic artist was working on a skiing-themed story. Not only that, but the character had a scar on his chest. He immediately guessed that it must be Wei Zhi’s alternate account and excitedly showed his phone to Shan Chong. Seeing that Wei Zhi had based her male lead on him, Shan Chong secretly felt delighted.

The next day at the training ground, Jiang Yiming’s presence threw off the previously well-ordered practice schedule. He constantly hovered around Wei Zhi, showering her with praise for everything she did. He even went up to Shan Chong and warmly introduced himself as Wei Zhi’s childhood friend. Wei Zhi’s face turned red with embarrassment—dealing with someone this outrageous was really too much!

But since Jiang Yiming was so used to sticking to her side, Wei Zhi could only let him be. That evening, to welcome Jiang Nanfeng, Wei Zhi treated everyone to a roasted whole lamb feast.

Episode 11 Recap

At the dinner table, Wei Zhi noticed a group of beautiful women surrounding Lao Yan, eagerly asking him to teach them. These women behaved flirtatiously, but Lao Yan showed no reservations and readily agreed. Wei Zhi couldn't stand watching from the sidelines—how could her best friend’s boyfriend change his affections so quickly? Just yesterday, he had promised to teach Jiang Nanfeng how to ski, and now he was acting completely different.

Wei Zhi almost lost her temper on the spot, but Jiang Nanfeng quickly pulled her back. Feeling indignant on her best friend's behalf, Wei Zhi sent a text to her shifu while in the restroom, asking him to find a guy ten times more handsome than Lao Yan to help Jiang Nanfeng regain her dignity. The cool guy Wei Zhi met was named Dai Duo, a skier who had always been slightly inferior to Shan Chong in past competitions.

Wei Zhi thought this man was far better than Lao Yan and quickly put in a good word, persuading him to take on a student. At first, Dai Duo found her request rather baffling, but in the end, he agreed to coach Jiang Nanfeng the next day out of respect for Shan Chong. The following day, Dai Duo brought Jiang Nanfeng to the training ground. Wei Zhi quietly observed Lao Yan.

When Lao Yan arrived with another team member and noticed Jiang Nanfeng had a new trainer, his expression darkened. Wei Zhi found the situation incredibly amusing. Dai Duo, already a highly skilled skier, only needed to give Jiang Nanfeng a few pointers before she showed rapid improvement. Lao Yan, on the other hand, was visibly distracted during training.

Originally, he had only intended to get back at Jiang Nanfeng a little—after all, when she left, she had directly blocked him on WeChat. He never expected that she would find such an outstanding coach so quickly, making his chances of winning her back seem even slimmer. As Dai Duo gradually intensified Jiang Nanfeng's training, she accidentally took a fall, injuring one of her feet and spraining an arm.

Dai Duo immediately called Wei Zhi, and after checking on Jiang Nanfeng in the medical room, he carried her back to the hotel. After finishing his training, Lao Yan hesitated about whether to send Jiang Nanfeng a message. He debated for a long time before ultimately turning off his phone. Just then, a colleague mentioned seeing Dai Duo carrying Jiang Nanfeng toward the hotel. Lao Yan was startled—weren’t things progressing a little too fast?

In a panic, he called Dai Duo, demanding to know what had happened to Jiang Nanfeng. Unaware of the situation, Dai Duo simply replied that Jiang Nanfeng was already lying in bed. Hearing this, Lao Yan felt even more unsettled. He rushed to find his shifu, Shan Chong, angrily questioning why he had introduced Dai Duo as Jiang Nanfeng’s coach. In his frustration, he even smashed Wei Zhi’s snowboard on the ground.

To protect the snowboard, Shan Chong reached out and ended up injuring his hand. Wei Zhi had no idea why Lao Yan was so furious, but to avoid escalating the conflict, she quickly took Shan Chong away to get his wound bandaged. Meanwhile, Dai Duo had only carried the injured Jiang Nanfeng to her hotel. Just as he was about to leave, Lao Yan suddenly barged in and started a fight with him without listening to any explanations.

Unable to separate the two, Jiang Nanfeng had no choice but to call the police. Jiang Nanfeng’s older brother soon arrived, immediately explaining the situation to the authorities, hoping it wouldn’t affect the careers of the two athletes. At last, Lao Yan realized he had completely misunderstood Jiang Nanfeng and Dai Duo, feeling embarrassed as he apologized. Later that evening, Shan Chong’s younger sister called Dai Duo.

As a professional skier, he was not allowed to break any discipline rules, so she punished him with a hundred squats as a warning. Dai Duo, amused by the lighthearted punishment from his girlfriend, happily accepted it. Ever since he first met Shan Shan, he had liked her. Even though her legs couldn't walk, to Dai Duo, the beauty of Shan Shan in her wheelchair was absolutely unique and irreplaceable.

Episode 12 Recap

While Jiang Nanfeng was unable to train due to her sprained ankle, Shan Chong suggested going on a trip to relax. Everyone wholeheartedly supported the idea, and they quickly packed their bags, ready to set off for their destination. Jiang Yiming drove while Jiang Nanfeng and Lao Yan shared a car. The two of them remained silent the entire ride. Sitting in the driver’s seat, Jiang Yiming watched them deliberately ignoring each other and found it quite amusing.

Shan Chong led the group to their destination, where they were greeted by a vast, snow-covered mountain peak. Everyone was thrilled, posing for photos together. Away from the noise of the city, surrounded by endless grasslands and close friends, they were as excited as cooing white doves. Upon arriving at the lodge, everyone quickly picked out their preferred beds, played games, and had a group meal together. As always, Jiang Yiming stuck close to Wei Zhi whenever they went out.

During dinner, he even helped Wei Zhi get food, carefully informing everyone about her dietary preferences—she couldn’t eat anything too salty or spicy. Seeing Jiang Yiming’s enthusiasm, Wei Zhi kindly accepted the food he handed her, while Shan Chong, on the other hand, was burning with jealousy. That night, Jiang Yiming’s roommate in their shared suite overheard him having a video conference.

Despite Jiang Yiming’s usual playful and carefree demeanor, enjoying all the things young people liked, he was extremely meticulous in his professional work. Though still young, he already had extensive clinical experience and personally guided interns through surgeries. Watching him seriously and rigorously managing his work, he looked undeniably cool. The group couldn’t help but ask about his relationship with Wei Zhi—it was obvious that Wei Zhi was Jiang Yiming’s “special someone.

” When asked about their progress, Jiang Yiming earnestly replied that Wei Zhi was the person he wanted to protect for a lifetime. Their families had already approved of them; they just hadn’t officially defined their relationship yet. The group planned to watch the sunrise together the next day. Lao Yan and Jiang Nanfeng headed out early, eagerly waiting for the sun to slowly emerge from the horizon.

As its golden light spread across the snow-covered landscape, everything became bright and clear. Jiang Nanfeng was elated—this was her first time watching a sunrise in the snow, and it filled her with energy. However, Jiang Yiming didn’t see Wei Zhi at sunrise. As the group prepared to move on to their next destination, he couldn’t stop worrying about her. Instead of following them, he parked his car nearby, waiting for Wei Zhi to contact him.

Jiang Yiming waited a long time, but his calls couldn’t get through. Just as he started to wonder why he couldn’t reach her, he overheard someone mentioning that an avalanche had just occurred on a nearby road. His heart clenched, and he immediately sped off in that direction. Wei Zhi and Shan Chong had been out exploring when they were caught in the avalanche.

Just moments earlier, the weather had been clear, but suddenly, a loud rumbling sound filled the air, and massive chunks of snow came crashing down. Seeing the danger, Shan Chong grabbed Wei Zhi and ran, but the snow pursued them relentlessly. As it was about to engulf them, Shan Chong ordered Wei Zhi to hold onto a tree tightly while he ran off to find cover elsewhere. It was unclear how much time had passed before Wei Zhi regained consciousness.

Everything around her was a vast, blinding white, and there was no sign of her shifu. Panicking, she cried out for Shan Chong and searched desperately. After what felt like an eternity, she finally saw a hand moving beneath the snow—it was Shan Chong! Overwhelmed with relief, she burst into tears. With visibility low and no clear sense of direction, Shan Chong led Wei Zhi as they carefully made their way down the mountain. As nightfall approached, they managed to find a forest ranger’s cabin.

Episode 13 Recap

Thankfully, in the freezing weather, they found a small cabin to shield them from the cold. Inside, Shan Chong lit a fire, and the two of them sat around it, chatting. Shan Chong opened up about the guilt he had been carrying in his heart. Many years ago, he had taken his younger sister skiing. From that moment on, Shan Shan developed a deep love for skiing and showed a natural talent for it.

At the time, Shan Chong believed that if she followed the training schedule, she would undoubtedly make it into the national team early. However, during one training session, she had an accident—her legs were severely injured, and she later suffered fractures. Since then, Shan Chong had been blaming himself endlessly. If he had never taught his sister how to ski, perhaps she would still be able to walk like any healthy person. But it was too late.

Now, his only wish was to save enough money as soon as possible to get his sister fitted with prosthetics. Seeing Shan Chong lost in sorrow, Wei Zhi comforted him, telling him not to dwell on the past. Many things in life only become clear in hindsight, and besides, Shan Shan genuinely loved skiing. Shan Chong knew that after his sister’s amputation, she had been deeply saddened.

Later, she found joy in reading comics—especially Wei Zhi’s works, which brought her a lot of happiness. Sitting by the fire, the two of them came to understand each other on a deeper level. There was only one sleeping bag in the cabin, so Wei Zhi crawled into the warm bag and called her shifu to join her. Seeing the innocence in Wei Zhi’s eyes, Shan Chong followed her in.

Although they were lying very close to each other in the same sleeping bag, nothing happened. Exhausted from the avalanche earlier that day, both quickly fell asleep. The next morning, Wei Zhi woke up and immediately urged Shan Chong to return as soon as possible. Before leaving, Shan Chong took Wei Zhi to a large tree. Its roots were thick, and upon closer inspection, it turned out to be two trees that had merged and grown together.

Shan Chong told Wei Zhi that those who made a wish under this tree would find happiness—then, he confessed his feelings to her. Wei Zhi’s cheeks flushed red. The truth was, ever since she had seen her shifu’s incredible skiing video, she had secretly admired him, thinking he was incredibly cool. So this time, she didn’t hesitate to accept his confession. Jiang Yiming had spent the entire night worrying.

When dawn finally arrived, he couldn't wait any longer and got into his car, preparing to search for them. Just then, Wei Zhi and Shan Chong returned. Overjoyed, Jiang Yiming ran over to greet them—only to see the two holding hands. It was clear that the avalanche had brought them even closer together. With their relationship now public, Wei Zhi and Shan Chong immersed themselves in their newfound happiness.

Jiang Yiming silently watched as Wei Zhi beamed with joy, feeling as if a jar of vinegar had been knocked over in his heart. He had come on this trip hoping to grow closer to Wei Zhi, but instead, his beloved had been “taken” by someone else. For several nights, Jiang Yiming hid under his blanket, feeling dejected. One evening, as he sat outside drinking beer, Shan Chong came over and sat beside him.

Jiang Yiming candidly admitted that seeing Wei Zhi so happy and well cared for, he had decided to fully support her happiness. From now on, he would treat her like his own younger sister.

Episode 14 Recap

Jiang Yiming made Shan Chong promise to treat Wei Zhi well in the future. He warned that if Wei Zhi ever suffered any grievances, he would not let Shan Chong off easily. Shan Chong replied that Wei Zhi was a gift from God, and of course, he would cherish her dearly. That evening, Shan Chong brought some fruit for Wei Zhi.

She shared with him that she was working on a new project—a comic collection titled Hush, the King is Hibernating. She envisioned a powerful king who was in deep hibernation; no amount of noise from the outside world could wake him, but once winter passed, he would inevitably awaken. Shan Chong knew that Wei Zhi was quietly using him as inspiration for her story, but as long as it made her happy, he would wholeheartedly support her work.

Dai Duo hoped that Shan Chong would return to the competition scene. Everyone had always wanted him to continue competing, but he had been away for a long time. As an athlete, there was an optimal training period, and any delay could have irreversible consequences. However, Shan Chong remained in no rush, which Dai Duo could not understand.

Seeing Dai Duo becoming increasingly aggressive in his words, Wei Zhi immediately stood in front of Shan Chong and scolded Dai Duo, driving him away. Shan Chong confessed that he wanted to save enough money for his sister’s prosthetics first. Once she could stand again, only then would he consider returning to training. Wei Zhi fully supported her shifu’s decision—since the king was hibernating, his decision should be respected. She believed that he would not let everyone down.

The coach also extended an invitation to Shan Chong. Meanwhile, Dai Duo sent him a video of himself performing on the training grounds. Seeing that Dai Duo had already advanced to a higher level of difficulty, Shan Chong immediately decided to return to the team. Wei Zhi, Jiang Nanfeng, and Lao Yan cheered for Shan Chong in person. Shan Chong did not disappoint—he executed high-difficulty skating moves with incredible smoothness.

The crowd applauded, and the coach was so moved that he nearly shed tears. Finally, there was someone to carry on the legacy. With retirement approaching, knowing that a promising athlete could take over brought him peace of mind. During a gathering, everyone asked when Shan Chong would officially join training. Shan Chong stated that he needed just one more year to save enough money for his sister’s prosthetics, after which he could start focusing on himself.

The others felt regretful—one year was an invaluable time for an athlete. They suggested pooling money together to help him, but Shan Chong refused. Jiang Yiming, having overheard Shan Chong’s situation, later pulled him aside when no one else was around. He revealed that his family was in the medical equipment business and had long-standing collaborations with high-tech German companies.

He offered to take care of the prosthetics, ensuring that Shan Chong’s sister would receive the best treatment and the most advanced technology. Thanks to Wei Zhi, Shan Chong had unexpectedly found a connection to a medical expert. Meanwhile, Dai Duo sent a video of Shan Chong performing high-intensity ski moves to Shan Shan. While watching the video, her mother happened to see it.

The past still haunted her—her daughter had lost both legs due to skiing, and her son had nearly broken his back because of it. Now, just as he had finally recovered, he was planning to return to the sport. As a mother, it was painful to watch. Shan Shan quickly sent a secret warning to her brother, telling him to be careful—mother was definitely going to take action soon.

Episode 15 Recap

Wei Wuxian pretended to be deep in thought and speculated that as long as Su She’s master could enter the secret chamber of the Cloud Recesses, obtaining the "Luan Po Chao" would naturally be effortless. It seemed that the only person with both free access to Gusu and high status was none other than Jin Guangyao. Su She’s expression grew uglier by the moment.

Wei Wuxian continued, saying that today’s siege was nothing more than a well-directed play by Jin Guangyao. To avoid suspicion, he had feigned injury and refused to come, instead sending Su She to secretly sabotage the others. If all the major clans’ disciples perished at Burial Mound, the blame would undoubtedly fall on Wei Wuxian.

Su She, his face dark, retorted that Jin Guangyao was already the Chief Cultivator who commanded the cultivation world—he had no need to fight for power, so why would he needlessly sacrifice the disciples of the great clans? What benefit would that bring him? Seeing how confidently Su She spoke, Wei Wuxian challenged him to play the battle tune he had just performed once again. Naturally, Su She did not dare.

Wei Wuxian smiled slightly and took out two pages of sheet music from his robe, claiming that they were remnants of "Luan Po Chao" found in Jin Guangyao’s secret chamber. If Lan Qiren were to examine them, he could easily determine whether Su She had indeed played a demonic tune. Su She, flustered and desperate, drew his sword to attack, unwittingly falling into Wei Wuxian’s trap—exposing himself as someone who had not lost his spiritual power.

Now, Su She could no longer refute the accusations. He coughed up blood, destroyed the array on the ground, and used a teleportation talisman to flee. Wei Wuxian was stunned. Both he and Lan Wangji realized that Su She was the masked man who had stolen Xue Yang’s Yin Tiger Talisman. As soon as Su She escaped, hordes of corpses swarmed in.

Wen Ning shut the doors and went out alone to fight, while Wei Wuxian informed the others that the Yin Tiger Talisman in Su She’s hands was a replica made by Xue Yang. In other words, all these corpses were under Su She’s control. Though Wen Ning was the Ghost General, he was still only one person. Against the never-ending waves of corpses, he gradually struggled to hold his ground.

Sizhui and Jin Ling stepped in to help, but their efforts were barely enough to make a difference. At the critical moment, Wei Wuxian drew a Summoning Yin Flag on himself, making himself a living target to lure the corpses while Lan Wangji and Wen Ning struck from the sides. Only then did the major clans find a chance to escape with their lives. To avoid further complications, the major clans decided to take temporary refuge at Lotus Pier.

Jiang Cheng was concerned for Wei Wuxian’s safety, and Sizhui also worriedly went back to check on him, only to see Wei Wuxian, weak and exhausted, slowly approaching with the support of Lan Wangji. It was clear they had just fought a fierce battle. The group prepared to travel to Lotus Pier by boat. Unexpectedly, Sizhui became seasick, puzzling everyone, as people from Gusu were not supposed to suffer from seasickness.

At that moment, Wen Ning cautiously approached and tentatively asked for Sizhui’s name and whether his parents were still alive. Sizhui politely replied that his surname was Lan, his name was Yuan, and his courtesy name was Sizhui. He explained that his parents had passed away, and he had been raised by Lan Wangji since he was four or five years old. He no longer remembered anything from before that time.

The more Wen Ning listened, the more excited he became—he was convinced that the young man before him was Wen Yuan. Carefully, he took out a toy butterfly from his robe—it was Wen Yuan’s favorite childhood toy. Sizhui was stunned. He felt that both the butterfly and Wen Ning’s face looked familiar, yet no matter how hard he tried, he could not recall where he had seen them before. Just then, Jin Ling angrily drew his sword and charged forward.

The sight of Wen Ning immediately reminded him of his father’s murder, filling him with rage. In his fury, he accidentally knocked over Sizhui, who had been trying to mediate. The crowd scolded Jin Ling for his reckless behavior. Clutching the sword left behind by Jin Zixuan, Jin Ling burst into heartbreaking sobs, and in the end, it was Jiang Cheng who called him to his side. Soon, the group arrived at Lotus Pier.

Wen Ning, knowing that he was unwelcome, pitifully lingered outside. Sizhui, however, felt an inexplicable sense of closeness to him and took the initiative to chat with him. The two quickly became engrossed in conversation. Two women named Sisi and Bicao arrived at Lotus Pier, claiming to have urgent matters to report. Jiang Cheng brought them into the hall, where everyone gathered to listen. Sisi spoke first, recounting an event from eleven years ago.

At the time, she had been a courtesan, but after her face was slashed by an enemy, her business declined drastically. Left with no choice, she joined a group of aging courtesans to do lower-class prostitution work. One day, they were offered a high price for their services.

After being transported by carriage to a mysterious location, they were shocked to discover that the man they were meant to serve was a middle-aged man tied to a bed—that man was Jin Guangshan. Sisi and the others immediately sensed that something was wrong, but their employer refused to let them leave and forced them to continue “serving” the man.

Jin Guangshan struggled violently, and before long, he took his last breath, scaring Sisi and the others out of their wits. However, even then, their employer refused to let them go. In the end, all of Sisi’s companions were killed to silence them. Only she survived by desperately pleading for her life, swearing to keep the secret. She was imprisoned ever since. Recently, someone unknown had set her free, and she finally resolved to expose the employer’s crimes. Everyone was dumbfounded.

Based on Sisi’s description, the employer was undoubtedly Jin Guangyao, with Xue Yang as his accomplice. At this moment, the other woman, Bicao, spoke up. She introduced herself as Qin Su’s personal maid and revealed an event from twelve or thirteen years ago. Many years ago, after Qin Su’s mother learned that her beloved daughter was to marry Jin Guangyao, she became deeply troubled, barely eating or drinking. Eventually, she passed away from grief.

On her deathbed, she confided a shocking secret to Bicao. It turned out that Jin Guangshan had once taken advantage of Qin Su’s mother while intoxicated. She had been furious but dared not speak out. Later, she gave birth to Qin Su—who was actually Jin Guangshan’s daughter, making her Jin Guangyao’s biological sister! When Qin Su’s mother learned that Jin Guangyao was going to marry Qin Su, she lived in constant fear and anxiety.

Unable to confront Jin Guangshan, she secretly told Jin Guangyao the truth, hoping he would stop the marriage. However, despite knowing that Qin Su was his own sister, Jin Guangyao still went through with the wedding. This realization devastated Qin Su’s mother, and she passed away in despair and terror. Hearing Bicao’s shocking revelation, the crowd clenched their fists in fury, feeling that Jin Guangyao was truly worse than a beast.

Episode 16 Recap

Wei Zhi gathered her former teammates one by one for a reunion dinner. Now, even Teacher Zhang Yu was willing to join Wei Zhi’s team. Sister Mei was worried that taking care of her child might burden the team, but Wei Zhi had already considered this. She suggested that Sister Mei work from home, and whenever something came up, they could hold video meetings, making things much more convenient.

Teacher Zhang Yu still felt guilty for implicating Wei Zhi in the previous AI plagiarism incident. However, Wei Zhi quickly changed the subject, saying there was no need to bring it up again. In truth, the one responsible for the AI plagiarism issue was Teacher Zhang Yu, but since she had a sick child in urgent need of medical expenses, Wei Zhi chose to shoulder the blame alone and voluntarily resigned.

Wei Zhi launched a new project and enthusiastically invited Teacher Zhang Yu to participate, offering a generous salary. Quietly, Teacher Zhang Yu paid the bill and told Wei Zhi not to call her "teacher" anymore. Now that Wei Zhi was the leader of the creative team, she would be in charge of the entire production plan from now on.

Sister Mei’s son had autism, and to help with his treatment, Shan Chong often took him to the skating rink for a change of scenery. Xuan Xuan tended to keep to himself and didn’t seem very interested in ice skating. Instead, he had plans to make money by playing video games in the future.

Squatting down, Shan Chong patiently explained to him that every stage of life had its own priorities, and for now, his most important task was to study. Playing games for money was something for adulthood. He even used Xuan Xuan’s father as an example, encouraging him to grow into a responsible man and, one day, a father who takes care of his family. Suddenly, Xuan Xuan seemed to understand his goal.

He stopped being stubborn and took the initiative to walk toward his mother, tearfully telling her that he loved her. Seeing her little boy, dressed in his fluffy clothes, say "I love you, Mom," Sister Mei couldn't hold back her tears. Her child had always kept his emotions locked away, and his willingness to express himself was a new beginning.

Everyone stumbles and grows along the way—Sister Mei had encountered an irresponsible husband, and her child had lost his father early on. But now, she was doing her best to shoulder the responsibility of raising her son and striving to build a better life. Shan Shan and Dai Duo went shopping at a nearby marketplace, where Shan Shan picked out two wish cards. She intended to write messages for someone in the future.

Curious, Dai Duo leaned in to take a look, but Shan Shan quickly covered them. Dai Duo gazed at the wish cards in front of him and began writing his own message on a letter: hearing that Shan Shan had accepted the prosthetic fitting, he felt genuinely happy. In the future, he wanted to take Wei Zhi to all the places they had never visited before, to see the mountains and oceans together, making up for everything they had missed.

However, as he thought about how he would soon have to return to his team for training and wouldn’t be able to accompany Shan Shan through her prosthetic fitting, he felt deeply saddened. As he wrote, he couldn’t help but shed tears. Shan Shan, quick-witted as ever, teased him, telling him not to get sentimental. The two of them cheerfully packed up their letters and headed back together.

When Dai Duo dropped Shan Shan off, he couldn’t resist giving her a kiss. Just at that moment, Shan Chong happened to see the affectionate scene—his sister was dating, and of all people, it was his own teammate! Shan Chong deliberately put on a disapproving expression, while Shan Shan pouted and signaled for Dai Duo to make a good impression.

Since Dai Duo was already a close brother to Shan Chong, and they knew each other inside and out, Shan Chong soon acknowledged Dai Duo as his future brother-in-law. Meanwhile, Wei Zhi’s parents went to Jiang Yiming’s hospital for a check-up. There, they saw Wei Zhi, Shan Chong, and Shan Shan together.

Noticing the seemingly intimate interaction between Wei Zhi and Shan Chong, Wei Zhi’s mother, eager to clarify the situation, immediately stepped forward to greet them and even invited Shan Chong and Shan Shan to their home for dinner.

Episode 17 Recap

Hearing her mother invite Shan Chong to dinner at their home, Wei Zhi immediately understood her mother’s intention. Worried that her mother would interfere in her relationship, she tactfully declined, but her mother insisted on inviting both Shan Chong and Shan Shan over for dinner. On the way there, Shan Chong felt a bit uneasy. Wei Zhi sent him a comforting message, reassuring him that it was just a meal—everything should be fine.

Wei Zhi’s mother personally prepared a nourishing fish maw soup, and everyone praised her cooking skills. During dinner, the conversation turned to their skiing experiences. When Wei Zhi’s mother heard that Shan Shan had broken both legs in a skiing accident, she was startled. In her mind, she couldn’t understand why a girl would engage in such a dangerous sport. She also couldn’t comprehend why Shan Chong insisted on following the same path, aiming to train for the national team.

Unable to hold back, she commented that girls shouldn’t take part in impulsive and high-risk sports. She also questioned the practicality of winning a gold medal, arguing that championship titles wouldn’t guarantee lifelong financial stability. Jiang Yiming tried to speak up for Wei Zhi, mentioning that the country was increasingly investing in skiing as a sport. However, Wei Zhi’s mother remained unconvinced. The atmosphere at dinner felt somewhat stifling.

Shan Chong, however, sat there quietly the entire time, never refuting a single word. On the other hand, Wei Zhi couldn’t help but glance at him repeatedly, feeling guilty for making him sit through her mother’s “lecture. ”After dinner, Wei Zhi quietly pulled Shan Chong onto the balcony to apologize for her mother’s remarks. However, Shan Chong wasn’t angry. He understood that every mother in the world only wanted the best for their daughter.

She was simply concerned about her daughter’s unstable future and unpredictable income. After all, if Wei Zhi was going to be responsible for raising a family in the future, engaging in such a challenging and risky profession could be worrisome. Visiting Wei Zhi’s home made Shan Chong realize the vast differences between their families. His family was middle-class, while Wei Zhi’s family owned a large business empire.

Both of her parents were career-driven and had high expectations for their daughter’s future spouse. Shan Shan also noticed this and quietly worried for her brother—it was clear that Wei Zhi’s mother had strict standards. Wei Zhi’s father, though quiet during dinner, keenly observed the subtle connection between his daughter and Shan Chong. Later, he privately invited Shan Chong to a meal. A conversation between two men meant getting straight to the point.

Wei Zhi’s father openly admitted that while he and his wife had always supported their daughter’s passion for comic art, they also knew that relying solely on drawing wouldn’t guarantee financial security. No one could count on a lifelong career in art. He also pointed out that being a skiing coach was a profession that relied on youth, subtly implying that without a stable job and steady income, it would be difficult for Wei Zhi to have a secure future.

Shan Chong understood his concerns. While he hadn’t been aware of the significant gap between their families when he first started dating Wei Zhi, now that they were together, he was determined to prove his worth through actions. Once Shan Shan completed her prosthetic fitting, he planned to return to the national team for training and earn his accolades.

Wei Zhi’s father nodded, but Shan Chong could tell what he was truly thinking—no father would entrust his daughter to a man with an uncertain future and unclear capabilities. Feeling conflicted, Shan Chong called Wei Zhi and invited her out for a walk. In truth, he was wavering. Winning a gold medal was a gamble—there was no guarantee of becoming the champion.

His heart was filled with uncertainty, fearing that he might not be able to give Wei Zhi the happiness she deserved. As he gazed at Wei Zhi’s bright and gentle smile, a pang of sorrow filled his chest. This girl was everything to him—but could he truly give her the happiness she wanted? Wei Zhi noticed Shan Chong’s hesitation. She embraced him and reminded him not to forget his original intentions.

He had once promised her they would always be together, and through hard work, they could achieve their dreams. Despite growing up in privilege and facing countless obstacles from her parents, Wei Zhi had never let go of her passion for drawing. She wanted to encourage Shan Chong to stop worrying about the future and just focus on the present. However, the more Wei Zhi reassured him, the more inadequate Shan Chong felt.

Overcome with self-doubt, he apologized to her and asked for some time. He suggested that perhaps it would be best for them to take a break for now. Tears welled up in Wei Zhi’s eyes as she ran away. Watching her retreating figure, Shan Chong felt an overwhelming sense of sadness. Wei Zhi ran home and poured her heart out to her best friend, Jiang Yiming. Jiang Yiming analyzed Shan Chong’s current mindset, advising Wei Zhi to give each other some time to figure things out.

Episode 18 Recap

Shan Shan finally completed all the necessary measurements at the hospital. Thanks to Jiang Yiming's connections in Germany, the prosthetic limb that was originally expected to take at least three months to arrive would now be available before the end of the year. Shan Chong was genuinely happy for his sister. With nothing else to worry about for the moment, he took Shan Shan home.

After her heartbreaking breakup, Wei Zhi devoted herself entirely to drawing comics, channeling all her frustration and sadness into motivation for work. Her daily serial updates became richer and more engaging, causing her readership metrics to skyrocket. Meanwhile, at her former comic company, the boss was fuming. Ever since Wei Zhi resigned, their comic statistics had been dismal—both the frequency of updates and audience engagement had plummeted. Even "Workplace Rookie," a much smaller series, had far surpassed them.

Furious, the boss summoned Teacher Zhang Yu and scolded him harshly, questioning his management skills. He reminded Zhang Yu that he was in charge of overseeing the company’s entire comic lineup, yet they couldn’t even compete with an independent creator. The boss demanded that Zhang Yu push Wu Manman to improve the performance of her comic as soon as possible. Zhang Yu was filled with frustration after the meeting, but he didn’t take it out on Wu Manman.

Instead, he patiently advised her to focus on her new project. Wu Manman, who had previously worked as a coloring assistant on the "Farewell Song" series, now found herself completely lost as the main artist. She doubted her own ability to lead a comic. Seeing her hesitation, Zhang Yu still managed a smile and encouraged her, assuring her that as long as she kept drawing, she would achieve results.

In just a short period, Wei Zhi’s new work, "Hush, The King is Hibernating", soared to the top spot on the charts. When Boss Wang, her former employer, saw the number-one ranking, he found the art style eerily familiar. After making a few inquiries, he was shocked to learn that the creator was none other than Wei Zhi. His face turned green with rage.

He had a company full of employees, yet they couldn’t even compete with a single Wei Zhi. In a fit of anger, Boss Wang stormed out of his office, shouting at his staff that if they didn’t come up with a way to improve their numbers, they would all be fired. Rather than focusing on improving the quality of their work, Boss Wang resorted to underhanded tactics. Determined to crush Wei Zhi, he devised a sneaky scheme.

To get her disqualified from the competition, he manipulated the voting system, artificially inflating Wei Zhi’s vote count to an outrageous level—her entry now had 100,000 more votes than the second-place contender, an obvious anomaly. When Wei Zhi discovered that her comic had gained so many votes overnight, she was puzzled. While some of her colleagues were excited, others worried that someone was deliberately tampering with the results. Wei Zhi immediately called the oversight committee to report the situation.

Since she had maintained good relationships with her former colleagues, they secretly informed her that the company's boss had been misusing copyrights for personal gain and had compiled substantial evidence against him. Wei Zhi quickly deduced that Boss Wang was behind the fraudulent votes. To prepare for battle, Wei Zhi consulted a lawyer. After reviewing all the gathered evidence, the lawyer confidently assured her that they had a strong case.

If Wei Zhi had any lingering attachment to her former company before, Boss Wang’s shameless tactics had now erased any hesitation. She decided there was no need to show mercy. Without delay, Wei Zhi and her lawyer went to confront Boss Wang at his company. She firmly stated her demands: he must allocate a portion of the profits from "Farewell Song"’s copyright sales to her, or she would take the matter to court. Boss Wang had miscalculated.

The Wei Zhi standing before him now was no longer the timid girl he once controlled—she had grown into an independent force capable of withstanding any storm. If he refused to comply with her conditions, his company would soon face the threat of bankruptcy.

Episode 19 Recap

Although Wei Zhi poured her heart and soul into her comics, some people online still misunderstood her. On top of that, the past AI plagiarism controversy made matters worse—many impulsively reported Wei Zhi’s work, putting it in a dangerously precarious situation. Her creative team was deeply worried; if public opinion continued to spiral out of control, there was a real risk that her comic might be taken down.

Seeing that some netizens were still fixated on the AI plagiarism incident, Zhang Yu remembered how Wei Zhi had taken the blame for him back then, shouldering the consequences alone. As her teacher, if he didn’t step forward to clarify the truth now, he might never get another chance. Without hesitation, Zhang Yu made a public post under his real name, revealing the truth behind the AI incident.

He admitted that it was his own moment of negligence—he had experimented with software for spontaneous creation, but it had only lasted ten minutes before keen-eyed users noticed it. To minimize the impact on the company, Wei Zhi had voluntarily resigned. Beyond clearing up the misunderstanding, Zhang Yu also reported Boss Wang for illegally misappropriating copyrighted works, repeated rule violations, and multiple breaches of labor laws. Thanks to Zhang Yu’s public testimony, Wei Zhi’s work was finally safeguarded.

The competition judges ultimately awarded first prize to her comic. However, as a consequence, Boss Wang immediately fired Zhang Yu. After packing up his belongings, Zhang Yu stepped out to bid farewell. Many of his colleagues were deeply saddened, their eyes turning red as they gave him farewell gifts. Zhang Yu had always been a kind mentor who treated everyone well, but Boss Wang’s ruthless actions had fractured what was once a tightly knit and highly creative team.

Now, without its core talents, the company was facing a severe loss. But Boss Wang, who knew nothing about the comic industry, failed to grasp this reality. Instead, he coldly announced that anyone who sympathized with Zhang Yu was welcome to submit their resignation as well. His actions completely shattered the remaining employees' faith in the company, leading several to quit on the spot.

Although Shan Chong had not contacted Wei Zhi in the past few days, he had been closely following the situation with her comic. From the moment public pressure mounted against her work, he had been deeply concerned about whether she would pull through. He often asked Shan Shan for updates, and when he finally heard that the controversy had subsided and Wei Zhi had won the award, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Having witnessed Wei Zhi’s struggles from the very beginning, he silently reminded himself that he had to train even harder—only then could he stand by her side as an equal. Wei Zhi attended the awards ceremony with her creative team, and Shan Shan also went on stage for the group photo as a contributor. Seeing their daughter not only find her passion but also soon receive her prosthetics, Shan Chong’s parents were overjoyed.

Their children were growing up, and they could finally feel at ease. Meanwhile, Lao Yan decided to focus on earning a stable income. Skiing was his passion, but after years of training, he had to admit that he lacked the natural talent to pursue it professionally. Accepting reality, he decided to step onto a more traditional career path. He sent out resumes to several companies and patiently waited for interview results.

Jiang Nanfeng was reviewing resumes brought in by her assistant when she came across an application that caught her attention. The applicant had attended the same elementary school as her and also had a passion for ice skating. Curious, she checked the name—and to her surprise, it was "Li Keyan. " Lao Yan had actually applied to her company! Without hesitation, Jiang Nanfeng told her assistant to schedule him for an interview.

During the interview, Lao Yan was stunned to learn that Jiang Nanfeng was the company’s boss. Fate truly had a funny way of bringing them together—even a randomly sent resume had led them back to each other. After work, the two had dinner together. When Jiang Nanfeng realized that Lao Yan knew about her pineapple allergy, a distant memory suddenly resurfaced.

Back in school, a chubby-faced boy had once confessed his feelings to her, but she hadn’t paid much attention at the time. After graduation, she had deleted him from WeChat along with everyone else. Now that she thought about it, she had actually deleted Lao Yan from WeChat twice in her life—what a heartless move!

Episode 20 Recap

After Jiang Nanfeng learned that Lao Yan was actually her classmate from over a decade ago and that the dog she had adopted had come from him, she felt increasingly guilty when she got home. As she stroked her dog, a flood of emotions washed over her. The prosthetic limb Shan Shan ordered had finally arrived. Shan Chong brought the package home and let his sister open it herself.

After years of being in a wheelchair, Shan Shan put on the prosthetic limb, and with her brother’s help, she finally stood up. Overwhelmed with joy, she burst into tears—this was the day she had been waiting for, the moment she could truly stand on solid ground again. Their mother, also in tears, pulled her daughter into a tight embrace. Accidents are something no one wishes for, but once they happen, one must face them with courage.

After taking a photo, Shan Shan excitedly video-called Dai Duo. Dai Duo had deep feelings for her, and seeing the girl he adored standing with the prosthetic limb brought tears to his eyes as well. But life must go on, and to him, whether Shan Shan had a prosthetic limb or not, she was still the most beautiful girl in his eyes. On New Year's Eve, Shan Chong, his sister, their friends, and their parents raised their glasses in celebration.

The atmosphere was filled with joy. Seeing that the time was right, Shan Chong told his parents about his decision—he wanted to return to his team and resume ice skating. Back then, Shan Shan had broken both her legs in a skiing accident. Now, hearing that her son still insisted on skating, their mother fell silent. The air seemed to freeze. Shan Chong feared she would refuse him again.

But instead of protesting, his mother turned and went to her bedroom. When she returned, she was holding a pair of gloves. Handing them to her son, she silently expressed her support for his skating dream. Dreams are a magical thing—every child has their own. Since she could see that her children were passionate about theirs, even though she worried deep down, she chose to smile and stand firmly behind them as their strongest support.

Shan Shan also took the time to call Wei Zhi and update her on everything that had been happening. She even asked if Wei Zhi wanted to talk to Shan Chong. But Wei Zhi understood Shan Chong’s mindset. She shook her head—he would be too focused on training now. To help him concentrate better, she chose not to call him. Instead, she quietly kept an eye on his progress from afar.

Lao Yan successfully got the job and started from the ground up. His first task was distributing flyers to promote the company’s main services. With his charming and confident appearance, he quickly attracted the attention of many young women. Jiang Nanfeng noticed that some of them not only helped him distribute flyers but also added him on WeChat.

It made her realize that perhaps she had been overlooking him all this time—Lao Yan had quite a bit of charm and potential. Of course, Jiang Nanfeng wasn’t going to let Lao Yan stay at the bottom forever. She personally took him along to business meetings, introduced him to valuable connections, and as they expanded their client base, her own chances for promotion also grew.

At night, when Lao Yan stayed late at the office working overtime, Jiang Nanfeng ordered takeout for him and stayed by his side, keeping him company as he worked. Meanwhile, Shan Chong resumed training. His physical fitness had slightly declined, so his coach created a specialized training plan to help him quickly return to peak condition. However, Shan Chong was impatient. Anxious to recover his form, he secretly increased his own training intensity.

Unfortunately, this led to a muscle strain from overexertion. When his coach found out, he gave him a heartfelt warning—not to rush. Shan Chong already had the foundation and ability, and as long as he followed the structured training plan step by step, he would definitely make it.

Episode 21 Recap

Lao Yan finally finished working overtime, and Jiang Nanfeng took him out for a late-night snack. Although they were now in a superior-subordinate relationship, Jiang Nanfeng still called him "Lao Yan" as she always had and continuously provided him with opportunities at work. Lao Yan worked extremely hard, and with his former senior supporting him, he should have felt at ease. But ever since Jiang Nanfeng realized that he was her old classmate, everything felt different to him.

After dinner, the night was cool and quiet. Sitting under the moonlight, Lao Yan and Jiang Nanfeng chatted about their current lives. Lao Yan sighed and said he was thinking about resigning. The once-distant moon had now turned toward him, and he felt uneasy. It wasn't like before—back on the training grounds, he could shamelessly act as her devoted admirer. But now that everything was laid bare, he didn’t know how to adapt.

Jiang Nanfeng was amused when she heard Shan Chong describe her as "the moon"—she hadn't realized Lao Yan was this deeply infatuated. After a period of intense training, Shan Chong quickly regained his physical condition, and his coach was very satisfied with his performance. During breaks, Shan Chong often secretly looked at the photos on his phone. Wei Zhi’s sweet smile in the pictures was his greatest motivation.

Dai Duo couldn't help teasing him, deliberately calling Shan Shan in front of him. "A proper couple should embrace the challenge of being affectionate," he joked. "Look at you, you're the classic repressed type—thinking about her all day but too scared to even make a call. "Wei Zhi received an invitation from the Ice and Snow Committee to visit the ice-skating training facility for inspiration. She knew that Shan Chong was also training there.

Although they hadn't contacted each other in a long time, she had always kept up with his recent updates through Shan Shan. The night before her visit, Wei Zhi was so nervous that she couldn't sleep. The long-awaited day finally arrived. Feeling anxious, Wei Zhi called Jiang Nanfeng, asking how she should greet Shan Chong when she saw him.

Jiang Nanfeng encouraged her to be bold—since they clearly cared for each other, why were they both so stubborn about holding back? At the training facility, Wei Zhi unintentionally turned her head and locked eyes with Shan Chong. Her cheeks instantly flushed. Neither of them spoke at first. Shan Chong looked at Wei Zhi, his eyes filled with longing and joy.

After exchanging a few words, Shan Chong quickly excused himself, saying he had to return to training, and rejoined his team. Having finally seen him, Wei Zhi felt relieved. That afternoon, she overheard that someone had fallen from the jumping platform and was seriously injured. Immediately, she panicked and asked if it was Shan Chong. The person wasn’t sure, and Wei Zhi’s eyes filled with tears. Without hesitation, she rushed toward the medical center.

Her sister had already suffered a tragic accident while skiing—she couldn't let the same thing happen to Shan Chong. When she reached the hospital room and saw that the injured person wasn’t Shan Chong, she still couldn’t hold back her tears. As she wiped them away and walked toward the door, she suddenly bumped into Shan Chong. At that moment, all their emotions erupted. Shan Chong pulled Wei Zhi into his arms.

If there was anything in this world worth holding onto and fighting for, for him, it was undoubtedly Wei Zhi. Now that he knew she had always been thinking about him, his heart swelled with gratitude, making him feel that life was truly worth cherishing.

Episode 22 Recap

By the time Shan Chong sent Wei Zhi back to her place, it was already nighttime. Noticing that Wei Zhi’s eyes were uncomfortable, he left after saying goodbye but immediately went out to buy eye drops. Shortly after, Wei Zhi heard a knock on her door—the hotel staff had delivered the eye drops. Wei Zhi quickly ran outside to look for Shan Chong.

She had thought she wouldn’t see him again, but to her surprise, he had returned, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Wei Zhi’s eyes turned red again. The two of them had an open and heartfelt conversation. Wei Zhi asked why he had left without saying a word. Shan Chong, feeling sorrowful, admitted that he didn’t want her to endure a difficult life with him.

Wei Zhi came from a privileged background and should have met a better guy who could bring her more blessings. Wei Zhi sighed and responded—she didn’t want anyone else; she only wanted to be with Shan Chong. Their sincere hearts collided once again, and Shan Chong couldn’t resist kissing her. Reuniting felt so wonderful.

Wei Zhi and the boy she loved ate ice cream together, dined at the hotel, read books at the library, and worked on crafts side by side. It was as if time itself carried a sweet fragrance, and even the air around them bubbled with happiness. While Wei Zhi was decorating a handmade cake, Shan Chong stayed beside her.

When the cake was finally finished, Wei Zhi lit a candle and made a heartfelt wish: to be happy with her "master" forever. Back then, Wei Zhi’s father had met with Shan Chong, reminding him of the vast difference between their families and urging him to consider Wei Zhi’s future happiness. Now that he and Wei Zhi were back together, Shan Chong requested another meeting with her father.

This time, he brought along his financial records from the past few years. In the past, Wei Zhi’s father hadn’t believed that Shan Chong could provide his beloved daughter with a stable life. But now, Shan Chong openly shared his thoughts and plans—he was earning a substantial income from competitions each year and would continue to strive for more.

Even after retiring, he planned to become a coach, ensuring that he could always provide Wei Zhi with a good quality of life. Looking at the bank statements in Shan Chong’s hands, Wei Zhi’s father sighed and shook his head helplessly. He had never wanted to stand in the way of his daughter’s happiness—he simply wanted to ensure that she had a stable and comfortable life.

But seeing how overjoyed she was after reuniting with Shan Chong, he realized that this was her choice. Since she was truly happy, as her father, all he could do was support her. Before they knew it, it was Wei Zhi’s mother’s birthday. Wei Zhi carefully prepared a beautiful cake for her. Her mother, seeing this, immediately guessed that Wei Zhi had reunited with Shan Chong.

She only wished for her daughter’s happiness and reminded her that no matter what difficulties she faced in the future, she must tell her mother right away. A mother would always be there, standing strong behind her. Understanding her mother’s love and concern, Wei Zhi couldn’t hold back her tears and hugged her tightly, crying in her arms. A few days later, Wei Zhi’s mother invited Shan Chong over for dinner again. However, this time, the atmosphere was much warmer.

Throughout the meal, Wei Zhi’s mother smiled at Shan Chong and even reminded him to take care of his health—not only to focus on training but also to stay safe.

Episode 23 (Ending) Recap

Upon hearing that her boyfriend was competing, Wei Zhi immediately rushed over to cheer him on. The competition was fierce, with every contestant being incredibly strong. Success was not easily attained, and Wei Zhi couldn’t help but feel nervous for Shan Chong. She watched as he changed into his competition gear and stepped onto the field. There could only be one champion, and without relentless effort, victory was impossible.

The coach patted Shan Chong on the shoulder, encouraging him to stay relaxed. Every time Shan Chong stepped onto the competition stage, he would summon his strongest self in his heart. He still remembered the previous competition, where a small mistake had caused a serious back injury, almost leaving him unable to stand. Now, after adjustments and recovery, he was back in the arena.

This time, he not only had to overcome his opponents but also conquer the fear in his own heart, determined to make up for last year’s regrets. Several contestants before him had lost points at crucial moments. Finally, it was Shan Chong’s turn. The audience held their breath, watching him closely. He glided across the ice with remarkable agility, seamlessly executing his moves with an incredible smoothness. His skating trajectory was stunningly flawless.

Everyone clenched their fists nervously, their eyes locked on him. At last, Shan Chong did not disappoint—he set a new world record with an outstanding performance. Dai Duo also performed exceptionally well, securing second place. As the two stood on the podium, their hearts surged with emotion. Only competitors could truly understand the significance of a gold medal. At home, Wei Zhi’s parents were watching the competition on TV. Seeing Shan Chong’s impressive performance, they were delighted.

It was clear that Shan Chong’s abilities were not to be underestimated. As long as he maintained this determination, his future would be bright. After the competition, Shan Chong took Wei Zhi out to relax and have fun with their friends. Jiang Nanfeng and Lao Yan also joined them. During dinner, Jiang Nanfeng quietly reminded Shan Chong not to forget about proposing—after all, a marriage proposal was incredibly important to a girl.

Her advice was spot on, and Shan Chong had already been thinking about it. Since they were all out together, he enlisted some friends to help create a lively atmosphere. Shan Chong carefully planned every detail, even preparing fireworks. Surrounded by a sea of flowers, he reached into his pocket, where he had a diamond ring specially prepared for Wei Zhi. Wei Zhi noticed the excitement on his face and curiously watched him.

Just as Shan Chong was about to kneel and propose, a surprised exclamation came from the neighboring table—another couple had just gotten engaged before them. Shan Chong suddenly felt awkward. He wondered if proposing right after someone else would make it seem less sincere. As a result, the carefully planned proposal was abruptly interrupted. The next day, the group arrived at the vast snowy mountains. Lao Yan took out his camera, capturing everyone’s wishes at the mountain’s peak.

Everything was blanketed in white, the world so pure and serene. Shan Chong knelt on one knee before Wei Zhi, holding up the diamond ring. Wei Zhi gazed at the boy she loved, her emotions overflowing. Amidst the snow-covered mountains, the two embraced and kissed. After waiting for so long, the day of their happiness had finally arrived.
