Gu Yi, the president of Ansha Group, is a shrewd and capable individual who always stands by his decisions. On this day, he secretly went to discuss a historic mansion project with his secretary, Qiao Jing. Unexpectedly, they encountered obstruction from their competitor, Chen Jia. With their seamless cooperation, not only did they successfully secure the project, but they also exposed Zhang Chen, who had leaked their confidential conversation, and subsequently fired him. The next day, Bai Yun suddenly became Gu Yi's special assistant at Ansha Group, targeting Qiao Jing at every opportunity. Furthermore, Bai Yun concealed an important contract, intending to frame Qiao Jing for incompetence. However, although Gu Yi reprimanded Qiao Jing and other members of the executive office, he did not agree to Bai Yun's request to dismiss them. Bai Yun concluded that Gu Yi was protecting Qiao Jing and decided to seek help from Gu Yi's mother, Fang Pei.

After learning the truth about Qiao Jing's intentions, Gu Yi fell into despair and drowned his sorrows in alcohol every day. Bai Yan took this opportunity to demand an explanation from Gu Yi but was informed that he would not marry her. Zhou Rui, seeing Gu Yi's constant depression and Bai Yan's pain, tricked Qiao Jing into returning to Nan City under the pretense of Gu Yi being in trouble.
