Qiu Bo found Gu Yi, who had run away from the wedding, and persuaded him to go back. Qiao Jing's younger brother, Qiao Zhi, happened to pass by and misunderstood Qiu Bo as bullying someone. He bravely intervened and pulled Gu Yi away. Upon learning Qiao Zhi's identity, Gu Yi devised a plan and became friends with him. Gu Yi used Qiao Zhi to stay at the skewer shop and constantly compete with Bai Yan, eventually succeeding in moving into Qiao Jing's home. Late at night, Gu Yi accidentally came across a photograph. The man in the photo resembled the man from his nightmares for many years, which left him puzzled. Gu Yi tricked Bai Yan and Qiao Jing into leaving together, but he returned midway and encountered Qiao Zhi, who was preparing a gift for his sister. Although Gu Yi was puzzled by the discrepancy between Qiao Jing's birthday and what he knew, he didn't inquire further. It was not until that night when Qiao Jing got drunk that Gu Yi discovered the truth. He learned from Qiao Jing that their shared birthday belonged to the man in the photograph, Su Juan, whose heart had been transplanted into Gu Yi's body. He was shocked and filled with grief and anger.
