After learning the truth about Qiao Jing's intentions, Gu Yi fell into despair and drowned his sorrows in alcohol every day. Bai Yan took this opportunity to demand an explanation from Gu Yi but was informed that he would not marry her. Zhou Rui, seeing Gu Yi's constant depression and Bai Yan's pain, tricked Qiao Jing into returning to Nan City under the pretense of Gu Yi being in trouble. After a dispute with Gu Yi, Qiao Jing and Gu Yi parted ways unhappily.

When Qiao Jing saw the pale-faced Gu Yi, her heart was moved. Unexpectedly, after Gu Yi made a sincere confession, he fainted in her arms. Qiao Jing had no choice but to send him to the hospital.
