When she awoke, her brother Kong Hao was with her. She immediately asked for DongBo Xueying, becoming frantic when she learned he had fallen into the Black Wind Cliff and that even the elders couldn't save him.
Believing he was in mortal danger, she insisted on going to find him, but Kong Hao stopped her, urging her to rest. Meanwhile, DongBo Qingshi received the news from his master. He learned that the Demon Clan had attacked the Sea God Palace, and his brother, DongBo Xueying, had sacrificed himself to protect everyone by dragging the demon general Xiang Pangyun into the Black Wind Cliff.
Distraught, Qingshi vowed to go to the cliff to find his brother and take revenge on the demons. Ji Rong volunteered to accompany him to ensure his safety. Si Borong scoffed, calling the dead useless, which angered Yu Jingqiu. Si Tu Hong forced his brother to apologize to both Xueying's memory and Jingqiu. Privately, Si Tu Hong felt a mix of annoyance at Jingqiu's strong reaction and envy for Xueying's posthumous fame. That night, a grieving Yu Jingqiu saw a fleeting vision of Xueying practicing his spear. Si Tu Hong observed her sorrow from a distance, his jealousy deepening as he lamented that everyone favored Xueying.
He feared that if he had been the one to die, no one would remember him, and that he would never surpass Xueying's legacy. Upon their return to Changfeng Academy, they were confronted by a distraught Puyang Bo, who furiously blamed them for returning safely while Xueying was gone. With their Abyss Demons depleted after the battle, they needed more forces to activate the Demon Well with their newly acquired source stones. Ao Lan reported that they were searching for a new drilling site and proposed a new plan: capture disciples from Changfeng Academy and transform them into Black Armored Warriors. The Demon King approved, ordering them to observe the academy's routines.

At the bottom, she found DongBo Xueying entangled in vines, barely conscious but fiercely clinging to life. She freed him, and they embraced tightly in an emotional reunion. Realizing their true feelings, they shared a kiss.
Their joy was short-lived as they discovered a magical barrier preventing their escape. They decided to settle for the moment, finding a brief sense of peace while fishing, a poignant reminder of a happier time they once shared.
