Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu encountered a masked person and politely asked how to escape Heifeng Cliff. However, the person didn't provide a direct answer and instead threw a book at them, instructing them to practice according to the book's contents. Yu Jingqiu recognized that the book contained fire-based spells and, in order to escape sooner, Dongbo Xueying intensified his practice. Unbeknownst to them, the masked person was actually the High Priest of the Demon God Assembly. The captured people, including students from Changfeng Academy, were held there for demonic training. The High Priest ordered his subordinates to closely monitor Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu, ensuring they wouldn't escape. Meanwhile, Dongbo Qingshi, under Bai Yuanzhi's guidance, intensified his practice of lightning magic. Despite numerous failures, he persevered and eventually mastered the technique, much to Ji Rong's delight. However, his training caused significant destruction, and when Bai Yuanzhi discovered his cherished flowers had been destroyed, he became furious and demanded punishment for Dongbo Qingshi. To appease his master's anger, Dongbo Qingshi personally brewed chicken soup but secretly kept the chicken legs for Ji Rong. Bai Yuanzhi noticed the chicken legs missing from the soup and questioned Dongbo Qingshi. Upon seeing Ji Rong with the chicken legs, Bai Yuanzhi disregarded everything and snatched them away.

After witnessing a fragment of the Blood-Refining Divine Weapons, Kong Youyue couldn't shake off her unease and decided to return home to investigate. Worried, Pu Yangbo volunteered to escort her. Kong Youyue agreed, but she made Pu Yangbo promise not to disclose anything they might see. They secretly returned to Kong's house, where they overheard people discussing the traitor who sold Blood-Refining Divine Weapons to the demons. This angered Kong Youyue even more. Kong Hai was settling accounts with the steward when Kong Youyue burst in. Kong Hai was displeased, especially when he saw her with an unfamiliar person. Kong Youyue questioned if Kong Hai sold the Blood-Refining Divine Weapons to the demons, but Kong Hai refused to admit it and suggested she quit school and find a wealthy and influential person to marry. Kong Youyue became even more frustrated, and her master, who couldn't tolerate Kong Hai's behavior, confronted him. In his anger, Kong Hai slapped her. Kong Youyue initially wanted to leave in anger but reconsidered, suspecting her father was hiding something from her. She stayed with Pu Yangbo. They overheard an artificer demanding payment from the steward for the work on the Blood-Refining Divine Weapons, only to be killed by the steward to keep the secret. Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo witnessed the scene and were locked up, but thanks to Pu Yangbo's Shadow Step, they managed to escape.

Dongbo Xueying practiced throughout the night and returned to the masked person, requesting to be released. After testing his skills, the masked person was surprised to see Dongbo Xueying's significant progress in just one night. The masked person already knew Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu's identities and intentionally instructed Dongbo Xueying to practice fire-based spells, hoping to awaken his ancient bloodline. However, during their encounter, the High Priest discovered that Dongbo Xueying did not possess the ancient bloodline. The masked person informed them that if they wanted to leave, they had to pledge allegiance. Otherwise, Heifeng Shrine was not a place where they could come and go freely. Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu firmly refused, and as a result, the High Priest ordered them to be imprisoned. It was then that they discovered many others who had been trained and transformed into demonic beings. Dongbo Xueying went to find the High Priest and offered to stay if Yu Jingqiu could be released, to which the High Priest agreed. Dongbo Xueying immediately sought out Yu Jingqiu, who had the same intention and confronted the High Priest, willing to stay if Dongbo Xueying was set free. However, in the end, they met again inside Heifeng Shrine and realized that the High Priest had never intended to keep his promise.
