Initially, Chen Le felt a lot of guilt because Fu Yunshen's recovery wasn't going well. He believed that if he had been driving that day, such an issue wouldn't have arisen. Zhou Zhizhi had been comforting Chen Le all along, emphasizing that they needed to stay strong to help Fu Yunshen. Chen Le found out about clinical trials related to neurological conditions in Heidelberg and thought it could be an opportunity. He discussed it with Manager Jiang, who initially disagreed but later agreed.

Zhu Jiu called her grandmother, who had just finished teaching children to read ancient poetry. Zhu Jiu expressed her regret about not being able to spend the New Year with her this year, but her grandmother assured her that she had gotten used to it and reminded Zhu Jiu to take care of her health.

Zhu Jiu sent a text message to Chen Le, informing him that she had resigned. Chen Le called Zhu Jiu to inquire about the reason for her resignation. After much contemplation, Chen Le decided to tell Zhu Jiu about Fu Yunshen's situation. He emphasized that Zhu Jiu was the only one who could help Fu Yunshen now, and if she gave up, Fu Yunshen might truly have no one to turn to.

While walking on the street, Zhu Jiu encountered a former patient who begged her to help save a friend. However, when Zhu Jiu arrived at the scene, she realized that she had been deceived. The person did not want to let her leave and attempted to take advantage of her. Zhu Jiu tried to escape, but she was knocked unconscious. In her hazy state, she noticed a nearby wine bottle and used it to strike the person in the head. Despite defending herself, Zhu Jiu was taken to the police station and accused of intentionally harming someone.

Zhu Jiu tried to call Ji Jingtang and another colleague, but neither of them answered. Fortunately, Linda called and asked Zhu Jiu to come home to check on their dog, who had not been eating well recently. Zhu Jiu asked Linda for help and mentioned that she was currently at the police station. Linda quickly informed Fu Yunshen about the situation. Fu Yunshen was surprised to learn that Zhu Jiu had almost been sexually assaulted. He attempted to stand up from his wheelchair using crutches and ended up falling down the stairs. Zhou Zhizhi, who was upstairs, witnessed the incident and asked Fu Yunshen where he wanted to go. Fu Yunshen remained silent.

Later, Fu Yunshen took Linda to the vicinity of Zhu Jiu's assault, hoping to find surveillance cameras. While Fu Yunshen could have entrusted this to a lawyer, the lawyer was out of town. Fu Yunshen wanted to investigate the matter himself to expedite Zhu Jiu's release. It was snowing heavily at the time, and Linda wanted Fu Yunshen to go back home, but he happened to spot the surveillance cameras near the scene of Zhu Jiu's assault. He successfully located the scene where Zhu Jiu had been attacked.

Zhu Jiu was released on bail thanks to Fu Yunshen's lawyer. When she learned that Fu Yunshen had also come, she was thrilled. However, when she enthusiastically approached Fu Yunshen, he remained cold and distant. After Fu Yunshen left, Zhu Jiu couldn't hold back her tears. Zhu Jiu learned from the lawyer that the evidence had been collected by Fu Yunshen himself, and he intended to sue the man who had assaulted her. Zhu Jiu couldn't understand why Fu Yunshen was helping her despite his cold demeanor.

Zhou Zhizhi happened to arrive and revealed the whole truth to Zhu Jiu. Realizing that she had no chance with Fu Yunshen, Zhou Zhizhi implored Zhu Jiu to help him. Zhu Jiu was grateful to Zhou Zhizhi for sharing the information and hurriedly went to the villa. In reality, Fu Yunshen hadn't thrown away the mint; he had been silently caring for it. When Zhu Jiu arrived, she immediately kissed Fu Yunshen, and this time he didn't push her away. Fu Yunshen was concerned that being with him might be tough in the future, but Zhu Jiu didn't mind and wanted to face whatever challenges together.

Fu Yunshen found Leo and expressed his desire to join the clinical trial for olfactory cells. Leo was still concerned about the risks and advised Fu Yunshen not to tell Zhu Jiu for now. Fu Yunshen wanted to wait until the surgery was successful before discussing it with her. Currently, Zhu Jiu and Fu Yunshen were in good spirits. Fu Yunshen saw a happy family together and felt a sense of envy. Later, he informed Zhu Jiu that he was preparing for the surgery. Zhu Jiu was worried about the risks and didn't want to lose Fu Yunshen.
