Fu Yunshen and Zhu Jiu bid farewell to Zhu Jiu's aunt, taking a photo together before reluctantly leaving. Zhu Jiu visited the hospital to check on Mengmeng, learning that Mengmeng had not yet woken up. She decided to wait in the corridor for a while. In the parking lot, Jiang Shuning intercepted Gu Ruanruan's father, pretending to apologize on behalf of Fu Xizhou. She mentioned overhearing Gu Ruanruan talk about divorce, and Gu Ruanruan's father, looking displeased, responded that it was their family matter, and Jiang Shuning need not bother. However, Fu Xizhou found excuses, claiming to be busy lately. Angrily, Gu Ruanruan told him to call her when he had time and walked away. Outside the operating room, upon hearing of Mengmeng's passing, Mengmeng's parents couldn't accept the cruel reality. Emotionally charged, they questioned the medical staff. Zhu Jiu stood there helplessly, allowing Mengmeng's father to blame her. Zhou Zhizhi's mother visited the hospital to bring soup to Zhou Zhizhi. Seeing Zhou Zhizhi's tired face, Zhou's mother felt sorry for her. She suggested Zhou Zhizhi resign, but Zhou Zhizhi refused. Zhou's mother then brought up Zhou Zhizhi's relationship with Fu Yunshen, and Zhou Zhizhi, not wanting to hear more, used work as an excuse to usher her mother away. In front of the elevator, Zhou's mother called Jiang Shuning, inviting her to lunch. Jiang Shuning gladly accepted. Fu Xizhou opened a package sent by Gu Ruanruan, finding a physical copy of the online novel she wrote based on them. He carefully opened it and read the content. In the company, Fu Xizhou casually asked his secretary how to win back a girl. Following the advice given, he even brought Gu Ruanruan her favorite instant noodles. Zhou Zhizhi's mother found Mengmeng's parents, telling them that Mengmeng's death was caused by Zhu Jiu mistakenly taking medicine. She offered money and introduced a lawyer to help them file a lawsuit. Mengmeng's parents were skeptical but eventually decided to go with Zhou Zhizhi's mother to see the lawyer. The next day, the hospital director had Ji Silaro call Zhu Jiu to the office, intending to suspend her from work. Although reluctant, Zhu Jiu had no choice. Ji Silaro, upon learning about it, wanted to share the responsibility with her, but Zhu Jiu convinced him not to. After returning home, Zhou Zhizhi heard her mother talking on the phone, apparently about Zhu Jiu. She turned on the recorder on her phone before entering the room. Seeing documents on the table and combining them with what she overheard, she figured out that Mengmeng's situation was related to her mother. Tearfully, she questioned her mother, but Zhou's mother remained obstinate, thinking she was doing it all for Zhou Zhizhi's good. Zhou Zhizhi, angry, left. Zhu Jiu came to deliver food to her grandmother, deceiving her with the excuse of being off duty. The grandmother believed it, and when Zhu Jiu went to get the medical records, Fu Yunshen arrived. Hearing the grandmother mention Zhu Jiu's day off, he was puzzled but still helped Zhu Jiu cover up the lie. However, the grandmother was still worried and asked Fu Yunshen to check on Zhu Jiu. When Fu Yunshen found Zhu Jiu, he didn't ask much. Zhu Jiu leaned on his shoulder. Zhou Zhizhi, listening to the recording, felt conflicted and pained but ultimately didn't call Fu Yunshen. Meeting with Fu Xizhou, Fu Lingtian discussed the acquisition of Redstone. Fu Xizhou thought it was a diversion, but Fu Lingtian was reluctantly persuaded. Zhou Zhizhi told Gu Ruanruan about everything and decided to give the recording to Fu Yunshen. Gu Ruanruan comforted her and supported her decision. Zhou Zhizhi found Fu Yunshen, played the recording for him, and expressed her gratitude. Fu Yunshen thanked her, his emotions complicated, and his eyes reddened. When Fu Yunshen tried to approach Wang, the lawyer for the Mengmeng side, Wang avoided the question and left. Fu Yunshen wanted to follow him but received a call from Chen Le, saying he had already sent the address of Mengmeng's family. Fu Yunshen went to Mengmeng's home, and Mengmeng's mother opened the door. Seeing him, she tried to close the door, but Fu Yunshen said he came to deliver the items that Zhu Jiu had arranged for Mengmeng.
