Hua Qian woke up from a hangover and suddenly forgot what had happened the previous night. Qian Zhi helped her recall and revealed that she had cursed many people while intoxicated. Hua Qian had a splitting headache and hurriedly called Hua Rongzhou to inquire about the situation. Strangely, Hua Rongzhou's face was completely wrapped up, making Hua Qian suspicious that she might have hit him while she was not sober. After receiving confirmation from Qian Zhi, Hua Qian felt remorseful. She tried to check Hua Rongzhou's injuries, but he seemed resistant. Since the person involved claimed to be fine, Hua Qian decided not to press the matter further.

Later, Hua Qian returned to her family's home and informed her father that she had a plan to rescue Hua Shen. Before presenting the plan, she gave her father a fright. She asked him how many sins their family had committed. Hearing this, Hua Wenang couldn't help but sneer and stated that their current prosperity was the result of his deliberate efforts, not mere luck. Hua Qian didn't back down and exposed her father's supposed wealth and glory as nothing more than short-sighted aspirations.

After leaving her father's place, Hua Qian intended to return directly to the Zhong residence but was stopped by her mother. Hua Qian's heart softened, so she followed her mother back to their room. Her mother had prepared some snacks, showing her affection that Hua Qian hadn't felt in a long time. However, she knew her mother's actions were motivated by the desire to rescue her beloved son. Hua Qian assured her mother that she would not ignore her brother's situation.

Seeing Hua Qian's response, Hua's mother couldn't help but sigh and told her the story of her own parents. Her mother, despite her position as the legitimate wife, had not lived as well as the concubines because she had only given birth to one daughter. In her father's eyes, daughters would eventually marry into other families, while the lack of a son left her mother vulnerable and oppressed. Therefore, Hua's mother didn't want to go through the same hardship and relied on Hua Shen as her pillar. Hua Qian didn't entirely agree with her mother's perspective but understood her mother's predicament. She promised her mother that she would ensure her brother's safe release.

After some time, Hua Wenang finally delivered a list to Hua Qian. She quickly instructed Hua Rongzhou to use the money to redeem the people listed. Hua Rongzhou acted decisively and soon retrieved the indentures of those people. Then, Hua Qian, while sending a divorce letter to Zhong Yelan through Qian Zhi, also went to find Mu Yao with those indentures.

Mu Yao's estate had already been heavily guarded by Zhong Yelan's people, making it difficult for Hua Qian to enter. In this urgent situation, Hua Qian had no choice but to have Hua Rongzhou help her climb over the wall. It was Hua Rongzhou's presence that allowed Hua Qian to meet Mu Yao smoothly. Upon meeting her, Hua Qian tossed the indentures to Mu Yao, expressing her intention to make a deal. She informed Mu Yao that she held the key evidence and acknowledged that Hua Shen should bear the consequences of his actions. Still, she should not be responsible for things he didn't do. To prevent further trouble with Hua Shen, Hua Qian also kindly reminded Mu Yao that Zhong Yelan had been aware of her scheme but had deferred it due to his affections for her.

After leaving Mu Yao's estate, Hua Qian turned to find Zhong Yelan. She glanced at the torn and re-opened divorce letter and, not wanting to dwell on it, told Zhong Yelan to quickly sign it. However, Zhong Yelan erupted in anger, accusing Hua Qian of only ever considering herself when making decisions. He then angrily tore up the divorce letter and stormed off.
