Initially, Jin Lin was overjoyed to go to the City of Splendors. However, Manager Qi told him that this trip was meant to make Ruxin completely give up hope. Despite Jin Lin's reluctance, he had to consider his family's well-being. Seeing Ruxin's despair, Jin Lin was in great pain but could only silently shed tears when she left. He carefully picked up the fragrant sachet that she left behind.

During the banquet, Hua Qian asked her father what he planned to do now that the one-month deadline had passed. As expected, Hua Wenang still couldn't let go of his wealth and status. Although Hua Qian had anticipated this outcome, it still pained her. Her hand holding the cup trembled incessantly, but she forced herself to remain calm, then finished her tea as if bidding farewell.

Feeling uninterested, Hua Qian got up and left. Seeing this, Zhong Xiwu quickly caught up with her and said that he would agree to the divorce. After expressing her thanks, Hua Qian left without showing any mercy. Subconsciously, Zhong Xiwu reached out to stop her, but Hua Rongzhou blocked him. Zhong Xiwu was filled with an inexplicable emotion, and he quickly ordered someone to investigate Hua Rongzhou. Hua Qian noticed Zhong Xiwu's anger and explained for Hua Rongzhou. Later, she couldn't help but remind Hua Rongzhou that although she appreciated his protection, he should remember that he was the family master, and he couldn't intervene too easily.

Back in the main hall, Zhong Xiwu was almost attacked by a dancing girl. Before anyone could react, a group of masked men in black burst in from outside. Chaos ensued, and Zhong Xiwu tried to protect Hua Qian, but the guards surrounded her, making it impossible for him to reach her. Hua Wenang pulled Hua Qian away, and the family rushed to escape. The scene was chaotic, and Hua Qian somehow got separated. In a moment, she became the target of the masked men. Fortunately, Hua Rongzhou arrived in time to save her. Hua Qian saw that Cui Zhu was in danger and asked Hua Rongzhou to rescue her. However, she realized too late that these masked men were targeting her.

A sharp sword was coming straight for Hua Qian, but the cold light ended up on Hua Shen, who smiled and reassured her not to worry. Then, two masked men knocked her out and took her away from Hua Shen. When Hua Qian woke up, she found herself hanging over a cliff, with Mu Yao tied up beside her.

Zhong Yelan received a message and arrived at the cliff in time. The two masked men forced him to make a choice: save Hua Qian's life or Mu Yao's. Zhong Yelan hesitated and repeatedly withdrew his foot before finally stepping forward. Seeing Mu Yao's reaction, Hua Qian seemed to understand something. She couldn't help but laugh and then took out the bracelet that Hua Rongzhou had given her, cutting the rope and dropping down the cliff. Fortunately, there was a lake beneath the cliff, and Hua Qian was unharmed. After climbing ashore, she was relieved to know how to swim from her year in exile. She hurriedly swam upstream to find a nearby house, but the pouring rain, injuries, and the onset of night made it difficult. Fortunately, Hua Rongzhou arrived in time, giving her hope.

When Hua Qian woke up again, she was in the Hua residence. Before she could celebrate her narrow escape, she heard the terrible news about her brother. She stumbled to her feet but only saw a lifeless body; her mischievous, trouble-making brother who used to call her "little sister" was no more.
