After leaving, Hua Qian ran into Qi Ruxin. Upon hearing that Hua Qian had divorced Zhong Yelan, even though they were currently in the Zhong Family Estate, Qi Ruxin made derogatory comments about Hua Qian. She even made disrespectful remarks about Hua Shenyin, who had passed away. Hua Qian had had enough, so she turned around and grabbed Qi Ruxin's throat, warning her not to slander her late brother, or else she wouldn't mind making sure Qi Ruxin couldn't speak for the rest of her life. As they confronted each other, Miss Meng suddenly arrived, breaking the stalemate.

Hua Qian suddenly remembered something and agreed with Miss Meng to go back to the courtyard to chat. On the way, Hua Qian revealed that the assassins' target was actually herself. Surprisingly, Miss Meng showed no sign of surprise and even praised Hua Qian for her determination. Hua Qian was about to ask more questions when Zhong Xiwu suddenly approached. After Miss Meng had walked away, Zhong Xiwu continued to straightforwardly express his feelings to Hua Qian, with a clear look of joy on his face.

Hua Qian didn't want to linger with him, so she said her farewells. However, Zhong Xiwu had no intention of leaving, so he insisted on following Hua Qian. Helpless, she had to remind him again that their relationship wasn't something she could accept willingly. Zhong Xiwu seemed not to hear Hua Qian's refusal at all, speaking as if he didn't care about her rejection, as long as she turned around, he would wait for her. Having experienced so many changes, Zhong Xiwu was like a warm breeze at this moment, blowing away the darkness that had clouded her. However, Hua Qian's heart remained firm, even though she was tempted. She had died once and wouldn't allow herself to make a wrong move. She coldly bid farewell to Zhong Xiwu, stating that she didn't need him.

After several days of tracking and investigation, Hua Qian finally found the whereabouts of Wu Shuomo. Upon learning that he had been inquiring about the Eastern Splendor Mountain recently, Hua Qian couldn't help but burst into laughter, as she hadn't expected that even in this lifetime, he would choose the same escape route. That day, Hua Qian waited at the Eastern Splendor Mountain, setting a trap for Wu Shuomo. After a while, Wu Shuomo did arrive. Now, with the city inside and outside searching for assassins, Wu Shuomo naturally didn't dare to act recklessly, especially since he was injured. Soon, Hua Qian captured him.

Hua Qian used her previous fierce demeanor to quickly make Wu Shuomo confess. He told Hua Qian that he wasn't the one who killed Hua Shenyin at the banquet, and he didn't know who did it. Wu Shuomo had approached Mu Yao in the past, telling her that regardless of whether she wanted a divorce or not, Zhong Yelan's initial intention was always Hua Qian, not her. When Mu Yao refused to believe it, Wu Shuomo made a bet with her and planned the assassination. However, Wu Shuomo himself didn't expect that people from another group had infiltrated theirs.

Back at the Hua residence, Hua Qian orchestrated a situation where Hua Rongzhou posed as an assassin, stirring up confusion within the house. Following this, she borrowed assistance from Magistrate Wang's men. After waiting for several days, those people still hadn't come. At that moment, Miss Meng brought over a card, so Hua Qian went out to have a look. Hua Qian intentionally mentioned to Miss Meng that she had caught a fugitive a few days ago. Miss Meng's expression didn't change much, but she brought up Qi Ruxin.

Mu Yao found out that Wu Shuomo had been captured by Hua Qian and came to the Hua residence at night to look for her. She told Hua Qian that everything was her doing and had nothing to do with Wu Shuomo. But Hua Qian knew very well that from the assassination at the banquet to the kidnapping and the fall from the cliff, none of these incidents were unrelated to Wu Shuomo. Seeing Mu Yao persist in her denial, Hua Qian couldn't help but scold her. She asked if Mu Yao couldn't live without Zhong Yelan and why she didn't just ask him for answers if she really wanted one.
