Scent of Time Episode 27 Recap
> Scent of Time Recap
Climbing over the wall into Hua Qian's courtyard, Qi Ruxin said some cryptic words before barging into Zhong Xiwu's room. Later, Zhong Xiwu issued an order, stating that Qi Ruxin had a narrow and malicious disposition and had harmed Meng Yifei out of jealousy. As a result, she was expelled from Zhong's Mansion, and the Qi family should not take her in. Gao Neishi sighed as he watched Qi Ruxin happily leave.
Today happened to be Zhong Xiwu's birthday, but he only remembered it when Princess Chang sent food to him. Seemingly reminded of something, he quickly went to Hua Qian's courtyard and invited her to have some snacks. However, Hua Qian was unresponsive and simply wanted to leave the confines of Zhong's Mansion, feeling like a prison. Zhong Xiwu told Hua Qian that he only wanted her. Hua Qian's heart trembled slightly, and she stared intently at Zhong Xiwu, asking if he was willing to give up his position as family head for her. After a moment of silence, Hua Qian understood that from birth, Zhong Xiwu had no choice; he was destined to be the family head and had no control over it, loving without getting what he wanted.
Zhong Xiwu still wanted to salvage something, but Hua Qian had no interest in continuing the conversation and got up to leave. Zhong Xiwu suddenly mentioned Hua Rongzhou, causing Hua Qian's tension to rise instantly. Hua Qian took out the bracelet Hua Rongzhou had given her and warned Zhong Xiwu not to harm him. Zhong Xiwu, however, grasped the sharp knife edge of the bracelet tightly and didn't seem to mind the pain. Hua Qian tried to pull her hand back, but Zhong Xiwu held it tightly, enclosing the sharp edge and her delicate hand.
Hua Qian had once said she was most afraid of death, yet she had jumped off a cliff for Zhong Yelan and taken the blame for Hua Wenang. She even dared to threaten her own life to protect a guard. Suddenly, Zhong Xiwu understood that Hua Qian wasn't afraid of death; she just didn't love him. He looked at Hua Qian and openly admitted that he had never intended to harm the person she cared about. Once Zhong Xiwu walked away, Hua Qian regained her senses, dropped the bloody bracelet she was holding, and stared blankly at her hand, stained with blood that didn't belong to her.
After learning about the situation, Princess Chang was furious and immediately went to Hua Qian's room, offering her a cup of wine. Hua Qian understood Princess Chang's hint, accepted the wine, and asked Princess Chang not to involve others. With Princess Chang's promise, Hua Qian drained the cup and fell to the ground without a sound. By the time Zhong Xiwu learned of this and rushed to the scene, Hua Qian's courtyard was engulfed in flames, with only a charred female corpse. Zhong Xiwu didn't dare to lift the white cloth and stumbled back to his room.
Zhong Xiwu, exhausted and powerless, questioned Princess Chang about why it was so hard to have only Hua Qian. Princess Chang, still angry, bluntly stated that all of this was for his own good. Zhong Xiwu felt somewhat dazed, as he seemed to have heard that same sentence from Hua Qian before. Now, he finally understood how Hua Qian felt being locked up in Zhong's Mansion. But it was too late.
Upon learning of Hua Qian's death, Wu Shuomo no longer cared about Hua Rongzhou and remained in his room, living or dying on his own. As soon as Hua Rongzhou woke up, he rushed back to Hometown City but received the news of Hua Qian's passing. He dared not believe it and sneaked into Zhong's Mansion. However, the scene before him, the ruins and a distraught Zhong Xiwu, told him that Hua Qian was gone. Furious, Hua Rongzhou drew his sword when facing Zhong Xiwu. However, he was no match for Zhong Xiwu in Zhong's Mansion. He not only failed to approach Zhong Xiwu but also got injured by his guards.
Hua Qian always smelled a strange fragrance, and it seemed like someone was calling her name in her ears. But every time she woke up, she was alone with no one around. She fell off the bed and gazed at the empty room, not knowing where she was.
