Yun Niang told Hua Qian that she had been married before, but her life wasn't pleasant. After a miscarriage during her first pregnancy, she couldn't conceive again. Her husband used this as an excuse to take many concubines. Those concubines, favored by her husband, began to boss Yun Niang around. She had to wash piles of clothes every day, and over time, her hands developed calluses that would heal and crack repeatedly, becoming a permanent condition. She had considered returning to her family, but in the end, her family rejected her, and she had to make her own way in life.

Hearing Yun Niang's ordeal, Hua Qian felt deeply sorry for her. On the fifth day of each month, Hua Rongzhou would come again. He had never missed an appointment in the past two years because Zhong Xiwu had promised that once he defeated the Lin brothers, he would tell him about Hua Qian. This time, Hua Rongzhou had succeeded. However, Zhong Xiwu only told him that Hua Qian had passed away. Hua Rongzhou refused to believe it, but he had no leads on Hua Qian's whereabouts. Despite that, he was determined to continue searching for Hua Qian until he grew old.

Seeing Hua Rongzhou's unwavering determination, Zhong Xiwu felt a tinge of envy. Hua Rongzhou could openly inquire about Hua Qian's whereabouts, as he was the person Hua Qian was waiting for. In contrast, Zhong Xiwu, as the head of the family, could only learn about Hua Qian's life through his spies, like a rat hiding in the dark, greedily stealing the sunshine that didn't belong to him. He sighed softly and told Hua Rongzhou about Hua Qian's location. After Hua Rongzhou left, Zhong Xiwu burned all the letters sent by Yun Niang, as if he were saying goodbye to the past and finally letting go of his obsession with Hua Qian.

One day, Hua Qian went to look for Yun Niang, but she had disappeared. Without Yun Niang's company, Hua Qian could only carry her lantern and walk alone. However, at some point, she noticed a "tail" following her. Startled, she quickened her pace, but the "tail" showed no intention of stopping. Hua Qian decided to take out the bracelet that Hua Rongzhou had given her and was ready to confront the "tail." She had prepared herself but was pleasantly surprised to find that the "tail" was Hua Rongzhou. Her heart, which had been suspended, finally settled, and the reunion was filled with a tight embrace.

Another person who was as happy to see Hua Rongzhou was Xu Ming. Annoyed by Bai Luo's pursuit, Xu Ming went to Hua Rongzhou to ask him to teach her a martial art that Bai Luo couldn't catch up with. Hua Qian was getting a headache from their bickering, but she genuinely enjoyed the lively atmosphere. However, the merriment didn't last long. She wanted to return home, but she realized that she was already a person who had died, and there was no way to return to the bustling Hometown City.

Hua Qian sometimes wondered what her father was thinking when he saw her collecting evidence of his crimes. She knew that her father had never blamed her. However, because of this, she felt even more guilty and helpless. She didn't know how to resolve this feeling, so she just sat in the courtyard, staring at the moon until it reached its zenith. Hua Rongzhou sat nearby, quietly accompanying her. After thinking the whole day, Hua Qian finally understood that the place she had always wanted to escape from was the warmest.

On this day, Hua Qian was washing clothes by the river, as usual, when a familiar face suddenly appeared before her. Hua Rongzhou approached her and gestured for Hua Qian to meet Zhong Xiwu. From Zhong Xiwu, Hua Qian learned that her parents had been settled safely and had returned to their hometown. It seemed that everything was improving, and a smile couldn't help but appear on Hua Qian's face. After Zhong Xiwu left, Hua Qian asked Hua Rongzhou to take a bowl of longevity noodles on her behalf. It was a bowl that Zhong Xiwu had hoped for but no longer insisted on.
