Winter 2010, Yanjiao. The alarm went off. Zhou Shui and Dai Daji opened their eyes and called each other awake, then dragged their tired bodies to work. Yanjiao was a strange place—without traffic, it only took half an hour to get from Guomao to Yanjiao. But out of the 365 days in a year, traffic jams lasted for 360, which meant they were always late clocking in.

To get converted to full-time employees, the five of them asked Lai Chaoyang how to make it happen. But Lai Chaoyang, who joined Deep Film at 28 and only got converted at 32, told them there was no way. Still, he signed them up for the Creative Showcase competition. This was their only chance now. And so, their first project was born—"Yanjiao Version of Fallen Angels".

A Hong Kong-style café refused to let them film there, and more and more problems arose. Xiao Huang and Xiao Mao’s girlfriend gave them a lot of support. Then, Dai Daji received a call: the café owner had agreed to let them shoot. The team immediately rallied and resumed filming. In that very café, they held a rushed and simple yet hopeful opening ceremony and took their first group photo.

Zhou Shui quietly thanked Dai Daji—without her, this film would never have been possible. Dai Daji replied that the most important thing about being a girlfriend was loyalty. Dong Leyi discovered a man changing photos in Dai Daji’s office. Dai Daji quickly introduced him as the company chairman, Mr. Zhang. He had changed the computer wallpaper to a photo of himself. Dai Daji wanted to refute it but realized she didn’t have a dream. She began to wonder—what was it that she truly wanted? Despite winning first place, the company leadership wasn’t optimistic about their film. Xue Cheng slammed the table and stormed out on the spot. Xiao Mao heard rumors that the company was planning to shut down the online department and reassign them elsewhere.

He threw a farewell party for Xue Cheng, who was going back to his hometown and didn’t want to return to Beijing. Xiao Mao also decided to quit—he was going home to marry Yan Yan. Zhou Shui tried to smile and said to Lin Aze and Dai Daji that the three of them could still make films together. But Lin Aze said he had already gone full-time. Xiao Huang was shocked—they had already broken up.

Lin Aze was now with Sudan because she could help him become full-time. Dai Daji slapped Lin Aze across the face. Xiao Mao held her back while Lin Aze lost control, complaining furiously. In the chaos, Zhou Shui was powerless. In the end, he flipped the table, and the room fell silent. Sudan drove to pick up Lin Aze. Xiao Huang forced a smile and made an excuse to leave.

Zhou Shui tried to stop Lin Aze, telling him that if he got in that car today, no one would consider him a friend again. But Lin Aze left anyway—he had chosen his future. Xiao Mao left soon after. Zhou Shui was left standing with the wine bottle raised in mid-air. After seeing Xue Cheng off, only Dai Daji and Zhou Shui remained from the Deep Film five. That night, they never saw each other again.

Xiao Mao returned to his hometown, inherited the family business, married a wealthy beauty, and reached the peak of his life. Lin Aze married Sudan and had a child, giving up his career to raise the kid. Xiao Huang became a well-known streamer and never saw the others again. Xue Cheng became a "National Geographic" photographer, staying true to his dreams. Only Zhou Shui and Dai Daji remained in Beijing. They said they would never part, always stuck together like glue.
