Though he said that, the money became like a demon in his heart. Before he realized it, he showed up at Liao Zong’s company. Liao Zong invited him in for tea and, on top of the previous offer, added another 500,000—making a total of 1 million. This time, Hun Xiang was no longer as defiant.

Later, Wang Jingshu received a call from Hun Xiang’s phone, but it was Liao Zong calling—saying Hun Xiang had left his phone behind. Dai Daji was preparing to submit the resignation letters for herself and Zhou Shui when Lai Chaoyang invited her to dinner. On the way, she called Zhou Shui to say she would be home late to talk with Lai Chaoyang. Wang Jingshu returned home uneasily. Hun Xiang had cooked and invited her to eat.

She cautiously asked what he did that day. Hun Xiang smiled and said he had passed by Liao Zong’s teahouse and that the money had been raised to 1 million, but he didn't care about it. Wang Jingshu finally relaxed, but then Hun Xiang said he had a plan—to just take the money and they would secretly return to their hometown. Wang Jingshu's heart turned cold.

Watching Hun Xiang excitedly fantasize about what to do with the money, she coldly said he could take the million if he wanted—but that money had nothing to do with her. Wang Jingshu had never thought of leaving Beijing. During dinner, Lai Chaoyang deliberately sat next to Dai Daji and used it as an excuse to get handsy. Dai Daji awkwardly brought up her resignation, but Lai Chaoyang ignored it.

He continued to sow discord, suggesting she consider her own future—that following the right person was what's best for her. Being a planning director was only the beginning; maybe the company would be hers one day. Lai Chaoyang grabbed her hand, urging her to create a different future with him. Dai Daji pulled away and finally had enough—she brought up how Zhou Shui once described him, saying he shouldn't think of himself as a good person.

Dai Daji and Zhou Shui officially resigned. They were done. On the street, Dai Daji ran into Zhou Shui, who had just come back from grocery shopping. The two happily returned home to cook, only to open the door and find Hun Xiang drunk on the floor while Wang Jingshu had packed and left. Hun Xiang said he had sold Wang Jingshu for one million yuan.

Zhou Shui and Dai Daji ran out of the complex chasing her, but Wang Jingshu still resolutely got into Liao Zong’s car. Even when Dai Daji warned that if she got in, they would no longer be friends. Wang Jingshu said her name wasn't really Wang Jingshu—her real name was Luo Guixi. A girl named Wang Jingshu sounded noble and elegant, while her real name was ridiculed by others.

From then on, she remembered the name Wang Jingshu and even changed her name to it. Dai Daji tried to persuade her, saying no matter what her name was, she should stay true to herself. But Wang Jingshu never had a choice. The next day after Wang Jingshu left, Hun Xiang also left with the million. He said he didn’t understand Wang Jingshu, but that money made him finally understand himself.
