Autumn 2024, Chongqing. Su Zihao had helped Xiao Juan’s child get into school, and Zhou Shui prepared many gifts to thank them. Su Zihao and Dong Leyi planned to watch a movie together that night. When they saw the "dog couple" file on the hard drive, Su Zihao decided to deal with it the next day and throw the hard drive away. Meanwhile, Dong Leyi also handed in her resignation to Dai Daji.

Dai Daji didn’t understand why Dong Leyi suddenly wanted to quit. Dong Leyi confessed that she had known Zhou Shui and Dai Daji’s story from beginning to end. Su Zihao also went to see Zhou Shui and admitted that he had known him for a long time—and that he also knew his story with Dai Daji. Zhou Shui and Dai Daji told them that the video they saw wasn’t the whole story.

They had broken up, but later got back together. They had been together for a full ten years. In 2017, Zhou Shui and Dai Daji boarded a plane to shoot a film together. It was only later that Dai Daji found out Wang Jingshu had left that day too. She didn’t hit the child and eventually stepped onto a different path in life because of the child.

Zhou Shui and Dai Daji flew to Haikou, not knowing they wouldn’t return together in the future. With Sister Chao’s domineering control, Zhou Shui and Dai Daji had almost no say in the production crew. The hotel arranged for them was an old, shabby place—so bad that there was only one single bed in the room—while Sister Chao herself stayed at the Hilton in the city. Gritting their teeth, Zhou Shui and Dai Daji endured it.

Then, Sister Chao directly assigned an executive director to Zhou Shui, who came in holding a storyboard and insisted on doing it his own way, telling Zhou Shui there was no need for him to draw anything. Zhou Shui was very unhappy, and Director Feng mocked him, saying he hadn’t made any real movies and was only lucky to become a director.

This time, Zhou Shui couldn’t hold back and hit him on the spot, then called Man Jiaxin to question him. But from Man Jiaxin’s perspective, Zhou Shui’s dignity didn’t matter. The movie couldn’t go on without him, but it could still be made without the others. Dai Daji went to calm Sister Chao down, but she said she couldn’t work with Zhou Shui. Her only demand was for him to leave.

Suddenly, she claimed to be dissatisfied with the script and demanded that filming start with a new version. Zhou Shui slammed the table and walked out. Dai Daji followed Zhou Shui, and before they knew it, they ended up at a school. They decided to go in and take a look. The campus was still full of youthful energy, while they felt somewhat out of place.

As they walked through the campus, they talked about old memories and began imagining how they would shoot their own movie. While talking about their story, it felt like a bit of their love had come back. But the film’s name had changed, the script had changed, the main creative team had changed, and Zhou Shui no longer knew what to do.

Dai Daji had always believed that once filming began, they would have control—she hadn’t expected things to turn out like this. Since the story had changed, she decided to stick with Zhou Shui anyway. Worst case, they could go back to shooting commercials. Zhou Shui saw a junior student filming a short and planning to submit it to Beijing. Zhou Shui and Dai Daji felt a bit melancholic.

They went to Sister Chao’s office and decided to resign, even giving up credit. Suddenly, Sister Chao changed her tone and spoke to them kindly. As they kept listening, they realized there were threats and temptations hidden in her words. When Dai Daji decided to leave, Zhou Shui changed his mind—he wanted to continue filming, because he absolutely didn’t want to become the kind of “husband” Sister Chao spoke of.

After hearing their story, Dong Leyi and Su Zihao were both angry—each thinking the other person was terrible. But now, Dai Daji and Zhou Shui were able to understand each other’s situation back then. After that, Dai Daji and Zhou Shui drank an entire bottle of erguotou. Having drunk it so many times before, they barely felt it anymore. Dai Daji left Haikou, and the last thing she did before leaving was sign her name on the clapperboard.
