Director Han Ke insisted on pursuing Zheng Dongni and proposed to take care of the matter of enrolling Xuebi in a top middle school. Dongni did not want to owe Director Han a favor and evaded the issue. On the other side, Chen Yucheng took Xuebi to eat french fries and secretly hid a strand of Xuebi's hair with a drop of soda on the table.
Dongni went to talk to Xuebi's teacher about her enrollment in middle school but ran into Chen Yucheng who came to pick Xuebi up after school. Dongni was furious to discover that the two had been secretly seeing each other and could not help but slap Xuebi. Dongni insisted that Xuebi had nothing to do with Chen Yucheng and asked him to stay away from her daughter, even if it meant bringing up Director Han again. Chen Yucheng had intended to show Dongni the DNA test report but, seeing how much she despised him, he eventually decided not to and promised not to contact Xuebi again.
Back home, Dongni ordered Xuebi to delete Chen Yucheng's contact information, leaving her feeling very upset. Zheng Xijue criticized Dongni for hitting a child and asked about the situation with Chen Yucheng. Dongni finally admitted that he was Xuebi's father. Xijue asked if Chen Yucheng had given any explanation for his sudden disappearance years ago, but Dongni said she did not want to know.
Zheng Nanyin planned to sell her and Su Yuanzhi's new house without telling Third Aunty. Dongni and Xijue arrived and were confused about Nanyin's actions.
