After the movie ended, Xijue found signs of heavy bleeding on Zhao Zhao and rushed her to the hospital. At the emergency room, Zhao Zhao, who was on the verge of death, kept mentioning Yucheng's name. Xijue went to find Yucheng and begged him to come and see Zhao Zhao. However, Yucheng refused Xijue, saying that it wouldn't make any difference who saw Zhao Zhao's condition because it was hopeless. Before leaving, Zhao Zhao asked Xijue to tell Xu Hui that she had tried very hard. Xijue tearfully promised her.
Dongni arrived at the hospital only to find out that Zhao Zhao had already passed away. Angry, Dongni wanted to confront Yucheng, but Xijue, who remained silent, pulled her away. Xu Hui learned of Zhao Zhao's death and finally revealed where the money was hidden.
Jiang Yi received a call from Xijue in Beijing and comforted him, saying that he had already done enough for Zhao Zhao.
At the cemetery, Dongni and Third Uncle and Third Aunty lit incense for Zhao Zhao. Dongni saw Yucheng also brought flowers to mourn Zhao Zhao, but Yucheng said he was only doing it to please Dongni. Dongni pointed out the biggest difference between Xijue and Yucheng in her eyes: both suffered, but Xijue would want to prevent others from suffering the same fate while Yucheng would just watch others suffer and tell them that the world is cruel.
Xijue learned that the training institution had closed down due to a long hiatus and felt extremely guilty. Laogao comforted him, saying that they would drink with the new investor tonight and there would be a chance for a comeback.
