Xu Mu remembered the day they met. Xie Shi said it was twelve summers ago when they first encountered each other. Xie Shi used to think fate was a one-way street, but after Xu Mu mentioned it was a circle, he had been waiting ever since. Xu Mu asked if he was waiting for the day they would meet again. Xie Shi replied that it was more than that; he wanted to make sure everything was perfect between them.
Xu Mu said Song Niannian kept asking her if she liked Xie Shi, and she always denied it. Even after getting married to Xie Shi, she couldn't admit it because she feared it was a false impression from spending so much time together, or just her own wishful thinking. She disliked that uncertain feeling. Xu Mu said she had been waiting for the day Xie Shi would tell her he liked her.
She was glad he didn't make her wait too long. Xie Shi walked over, grabbed Xu Mu, and kissed her. Xu Mu laughed, recalling how Shen Yi said Xie Shi had never been in a relationship before. Xie Shi responded that he didn't know it was because of whom. Song Niannian looked at Xu Mu's social media post and said she didn't understand it. Shen Yi glanced at it and said it probably didn't mean anything special, just something ordinary.
Song Niannian insisted there was more to it and asked Shen Yi if he dared to bet on it. Shen Yi agreed to the bet. Song Niannian said if she won, the wedding photoshoot would be her call, and Shen Yi accepted. Xu Mu and Xie Shi bought a lot of things and returned home. Xu Mu asked Xie Shi what they were having for lunch. Xie Shi asked what she wanted, and Xu Mu suggested pork rib soup.
As she spoke, Xu Mu hugged Xie Shi from behind. Just then, Shen Yi and Song Niannian arrived, quietly standing at the door, watching them. When Xie Shi turned to kiss Xu Mu, he saw Shen Yi and Song Niannian. Xu Mu asked why they were there, and Shen Yi joked that they couldn't blame anyone but themselves for leaving the door unlocked. Xu Mu told Song Niannian that Xie Shi had liked her for a long time.
Song Niannian was surprised and said she didn't notice his secret crush. Song Niannian asked Xu Mu if her social media post was about Xie Shi, and Xu Mu confirmed it. She said her starting point was also Xie Shi's starting point. Song Niannian was thrilled that both of them could marry the people they loved. Xie Shi told Shen Yi he would be away for a few days and asked him to feed the cat, Mo Fang.
Xie Shi said he was taking Xu Mu back to his hometown because his father had mortgaged the house to pay off debts, and he needed to retrieve his mother's belongings. Song Niannian and Shen Yi discussed their wedding plans, deciding to have a grand celebration. Song Niannian then said she didn't want a traditional wedding anymore, which startled Shen Yi, thinking she was having second thoughts. Song Niannian clarified that she wanted a destination wedding instead.
They both agreed on going to Iceland to see the Northern Lights and taking photos at Lake Geneva. Shen Yi enthusiastically agreed, saying he wanted to have many children with Song Niannian. Song Niannian said she wasn't ready for children yet and wanted to enjoy more freedom first. Xu Mu and Xie Shi returned to Xie Shi's hometown, where they met an old neighbor who was delighted to see Xie Shi doing well, with a family and a successful career.
After the neighbor left, Xu Mu suggested they start packing his mother's things. She asked why there were so few items, and Xie Shi explained that his father had sold most of them. Just as they were talking, the neighbor returned with some food for them. The neighbor noticed a photo in Xu Mu's album with her silhouette and remembered the day Xu Mu had brought a cake, coincidentally on Xie Shi's birthday.
Xu Mu had given the cake to Xie Shi's mother when she couldn't get one herself. Song Niannian and Shen Yi had an argument, and Song Niannian went to stay at Xie Shi's place. Xu Mu waited until Song Niannian fell asleep and then secretly went out to meet Xie Shi. Xu Mu remarked that although they were married, it felt like they were sneaking around like lovers.
Xu Mu helped Shen Yi arrange a meeting with Song Niannian, and Shen Yi managed to make up with her. Xu Mu was relieved to finally have some time alone with Xie Shi. Xu Mu went home for the New Year and video-called Xie Shi to chat.
