Song Niannian was pacing back and forth in front of Shen Yi's coffee shop, hesitating whether to go in and apologize to Shen Yi. She felt it wasn't necessary to make a special trip, but then she thought that if something happened to Shen Yi, the police would probably come looking for her. With that thought, she walked in. Shen Yi asked why she was there.
Song Niannian said she was looking for Xu Mu but called Shen Yi when she couldn't reach her. Shen Yi asked why she called him if she was looking for Xu Mu. Embarrassed, Song Niannian said she would leave since Xu Mu wasn't there. Shen Yi told her to stay and offered her a drink. Song Niannian insisted she wouldn't tell him she was there to apologize. Shen Yi admitted he was wrong too and shouldn't have acted that way.
Song Niannian said she was also at fault and shouldn't have imposed her thoughts on others. Shen Yi was about to explain his troubles when Song Niannian interrupted, saying she understood. Just then, Shen Yi's phone rang. Shen Yi's father arrived outside the coffee shop, prompting Shen Yi to quickly turn off the lights and hide with Song Niannian. After his father left, Shen Yi turned the lights back on.
Song Niannian noticed many design sketches and asked what they were. Shen Yi explained it was a small business venture he was working on. Song Niannian realized this was why Shen Yi was avoiding his father. Shen Yi then showed her a half-finished guide dog prototype he had been working on. He asked Song Niannian to look at his guide dog prototype. Song Niannian asked if this was the reason he insisted on working there.
Shen Yi explained that he had wanted to work on this project since college, but his father had secretly changed his major to finance. Song Niannian told Shen Yi he was impressive and that she thought the intelligent guide dog was pretty cool. When Xie Shi got home, he found Xu Mu asleep while waiting for him, with a table full of delicious food.
Xie Shi picked up a note from the table, on which Xu Mu had written her gratitude for helping her get her job back. The next morning, Xie Shi made two breakfasts and told Xu Mu to eat quickly and not worry about cleaning up. Xu Mu asked why he came home so late the previous night and if he had tried the cake. She mentioned she hadn't tasted it because she was too tired.
Xie Shi then took Xu Mu's cake from the fridge. Xu Mu asked where they were going later, and Xie Shi said they were going to their high school. Xu Mu mentioned she had been there many times but never went inside. Xie Shi said he had business there and offered to take her along. They arrived at their high school campus and reminisced about their high school days. Xu Mu ran into her former advanced math teacher, Mr.
Zhang, who remembered how she cried in his office for an entire class period because she couldn't understand math. Mr. Zhang asked when they were getting married, saying he was waiting for their wedding banquet. Xu Mu asked how he knew, and Mr. Zhang said all the teachers in the office knew from her social media posts. They went to their old classroom, and Xu Mu was surprised to find that the desks and chairs hadn't changed over the years.
She said sitting next to Xie Shi was very stressful. When Xie Shi asked for examples, Xu Mu explained that she couldn't leave her seat during breaks because it would get taken over by others who wanted to talk to Xie Shi about homework. She also mentioned that everyone piled their assignments on her desk because they didn't want to crowd Xie Shi's desk. Xu Mu told Xie Shi that her seat had good feng shui.
After he left, another popular student took the seat. This new student had a very different personality from Xie Shi but looked quite similar and was also a top student. Xie Shi asked if it was a boy or girl, and Xu Mu said it was a boy. When Xie Shi asked if she also sat next to this new boy, Xu Mu replied that without Xie Shi's presence, she was moved to the last row.
While Xie Shi was on a business trip, Xu Mu participated in a cake-baking activity in their community. During the activity, two neighbors asked if Xu Mu was Xie Shi's wife. Xu Mu said she was still his girlfriend. One of the neighbors took a photo of Xu Mu and posted it in the neighborhood group chat, saying that Xie Shi's girlfriend was participating in an activity for the first time and asking everyone to take good care of her.
