Wen Rourou says that she is a helpful person, like a beam of light passing by. She saw Ximen Fangfeng carrying a vase and wanted to help, but he refused and said he could handle it. Wen Rourou tried to assist but accidentally dropped the vase, so she quickly ran away.
Later, Wen Rourou went to Fu Hongxie to borrow a book. Inside the room was too dark, so she tried to light a candle but ended up burning down the bookcase. Wang Feihu asked Wen Rourou to keep the silver notes of the bank, but Bai Xiaosheng told him that Wen Rourou had lost them.
Wang Feihu said that the bank wouldn't retrieve the stolen money. He also said that their gang was now bankrupt, so they could take whatever they wanted. Wen Rourou suggested that they ask the Nanshan faction for money, but Wang Feihu thought it was unrealistic. He was surprised when Wen Rourou revealed that the Nanshan faction's leader, Wen Buwan, was her father and would be willing to invest.
Ximen Fangfeng addressed Wen Rourou as "Teacher Wen" and explained that he didn't know her true identity before.
