After Jiang Ying left her secret base, she came to the cemetery with an umbrella and called out “Uncle Wu”. Lao Wu was frightened and knelt down on the ground. Jiang Ying claimed to be the daughter of Jiang Yezhou and Xu Yinglan, which Lao Wu found hard to believe.
Du Xunyu lifted the white cloth on the altar and saw the spiritual tablets of Jiang Yezhou and Xu Yinglan. He couldn’t help but chew on Jiang Ying’s name and knew in his heart that she was Jiang Su Su. However, he couldn’t accept it for a while and kept muttering “It’s impossible”.
Jiang Ying asked Lao Wu if today’s rain was similar to the day when Lao Wu buried her alive. This frightened Lao Wu and he quickly explained that he was forced to do it. Jiang Ying remembered that day when Lao Wu tied the mouth of the sack tightly and buried her in the rain, covering her with thick mud. Jiang Ying thought she would surely die, but unexpectedly the heavy rain washed away the mud that Lao Wu had covered her with, making her feel cold. So she used the carving knife that Du Xunyu gave her to cut open the sack little by little and escaped.
Lao Wu felt that he was also threatened by Du Jingchuang at that time and had to obey orders. After burying Jiang Su Su alive, Du Jingchuang asked him to come back and check the situation. At that time, he had already found out that Jiang Su Su was missing, but he did not make a fuss and wanted Jiang Ying to let him off.
Jiang Ying threw her umbrella away and stood in the rain, questioning Lao Wu if she should still be grateful. Lao Wu repeatedly said he dared not, but Jiang Ying then wrapped the red cord around Lao Wu's neck and threatened to send him to hell.
Years ago, Lao Wu was shown mercy by Jiang Yezhou, who hired him after he stole property to pay for his sick wife and children. Jiang Ye Zhou even let his daughter Jiang Susu call him "Uncle Wu." Although Lao Wu did not kill the Jiang family, he helped cover up the crime and buried Jiang Susu, so he deserved punishment. Therefore, Jiang Ying revealed that Du Jingchuang had a recording of a conversation with Jiang Yezhou on the day of the incident, which was hidden in his study in Tang City.
Jiang Ying thought for a moment, untied the red rope, and gave Lao Wu a way out. She wanted Lao Wu to be frightened every rainy night. Although he was alive, he felt like he was in hell. Lao Wu couldn’t stand this torture and tremblingly reached out to touch the broken porcelain on the ground.
Jiang Ying returned to Du’s house soaking wet. Looking at Du Xunyu in the corridor, she felt that he was her brother in knowledge and ran towards him, hugging him tightly.
Jiang Ying got wet and caught a cold. Du Xunyu sent her back to her room. When he was about to change her wet clothes, Jiang Ying woke up and instinctively became wary of Du Xunyu.
