Lu Shaojie angrily questioned his mother, Fang Jingyi, why she locked Mu Xiruo and Lu Qinchuan in the cold storage. Fang Jingyi confidently stated that she did it for Lu Shaojie's own good. With the video evidence of them cuddling in the cold storage, Grandfather Lu Qinian would support Mu Meijia and Lu Shaojie being together. She even hinted that it could be used to strike against Lu Qinchuan. Lu Shaojie was furious and asked his mother if she hadn't promised to stop targeting Mu Xiruo. Fang Jingyi suspected that her son had truly fallen for Mu Xiruo, but Lu Shaojie didn't give a direct answer. He only mentioned that if he married into the Mu family, he could obtain a 5% stake in the Lu family's shares. Fang Jingyi instructed Wu Shu to retrieve Mu Xiruo's mother's seal, promising to pay off his wife's medical expenses in return. Wu Shu had evidence of the contract Fang Jingyi had made back then. Fang Jingyi refused to admit that she had taken away Mu Xiruo's mother's property, which made Mu Xiruo very angry.
