Everyone arrived at the entrance of the underground city. Meanwhile, because the time had come, Jiu Xuanye was taken by Lü Chunmian to undergo the Pool Transformation. At this time, Zi Kong and the others had already reached the underground city but, seeing no sign of Jiu Xuanye, decided to head to the Small Grotto first. Lü Chunmian suddenly received news that something had happened and immediately left, letting Jiu Xuanye proceed ahead on his own.

Zi Kong realized that Lü Chunmian and the others intended to slaughter them all, so he covered for Chu Youhuang and Sima Lingying to head to the Bone-washing Pool first, while he stayed behind to intercept Lü Chunmian's group. Shen Tunan told Jiu Xuanye that by jumping into the Bone-washing Pool, he could be reborn, and that from there, he could also reach his home, Wuyou Realm.

Shen Tunan had been to Wuyou Realm before and believed it was a place overrun by arrogant demons. He guarded the boundary gate there, not allowing any demon to enter. Jiu Xuanye asked if anyone else had ever tried, and Shen Tunan firmly insisted that others had successfully done so, which was why he was letting Jiu Xuanye enter. He kept urging Jiu Xuanye to go inside. Sima Lingying, Chu Youhuang, and Zi Kong joined forces to block Lü Chunmian's pursuit.

Meanwhile, Ban Xia, fearing there wouldn't be enough time, ran off to find Jiu Xuanye, but was stopped by two people with knives pressed against her neck. Jiu Xuanye didn't trust Shen Tunan at all. After transforming into a leopard, he went to find Zi Kong but instead discovered a fallen jade pendant at the place where Lü Chunmian had been hunting Zi Kong.

He searched through a lot of information and finally proved that Xue Qiao and the others had all died at Shen Tunan's hands. Over the years, Shen Tunan had been purchasing demons at high prices and hiring many demon hunters to capture demons, throwing them into the Bone-washing Pool. Shen Tunan finally dropped his pretense and fought Jiu Xuanye.

He had always been jealous that their master had passed the Canglong Box to Jiu Xuanye’s father, who then passed it down to Jiu Xuanye, planting the seed of hatred back then. To force Jiu Xuanye into the pool, Shen Tunan captured Ban Xia as a hostage, but Jiu Xuanye still managed to save Ban Xia and, along with the arriving Zi Kong and others, fought fiercely against Shen Tunan’s men.

Zi Kong reminded Jiu Xuanye to use the skills taught by his father. The two fought side by side against Shen Tunan. Zi Kong also wanted to see how much Jiu Xuanye had improved over the years among humans. However, Zi Kong suddenly activated a formation, trapping both himself and Jiu Xuanye inside. Both of them screamed in pain. Sima Lingying and Chu Youhuang tried to rescue them but were blasted away, coughing up blood.

As an elder brother, Zi Kong ordered Jiu Xuanye to escape. He created a gap for Jiu Xuanye to break through. At that moment, Chu Youhuang was wounded by Lü Chunmian’s stab, and Sima Lingying, seeking revenge for Chu Youhuang, killed Lü Chunmian but was also fatally wounded in turn. Both of them died on the spot. Ban Xia, witnessing all of this unfold, was filled with terror.

Zi Kong intended to perish together with Shen Tunan, and instructed Jiu Xuanye to protect Wuyou Realm and the Xuan Leopard clan at all costs. But Shen Tunan absorbed Zi Kong’s demon power and the blood and bones of thousands of demons, transforming into a demon himself. Years ago, Ban Xia had been brought to the underground city by human traffickers and happened to witness Shen Tunan slaughtering demons to avenge his family.

When the traffickers chased after Ban Xia, Shen Tunan killed them and tried to save her, but Ban Xia entered Wuyou Realm instead. To save Ban Xia, Shen Tunan followed her into Wuyou Realm. It was only then that he discovered the vast fields of Wuyou Grass and the numerous Yuan Spirits it created, which explained why so many demons appeared. Shen Tunan wanted to eradicate the Wuyou Grass so that no more demons would be born.

However, humans could do nothing in Wuyou Realm. Desperate, he had no choice but to transform himself into a demon in order to eliminate all the demons there. After waiting twelve years, he had finally become a demon. As soon as the boundary gate opened, he planned to enter and destroy the demon clan. Ban Xia handed the Canglong Box to Jiu Xuanye, who wanted to stop Shen Tunan from entering Wuyou Realm.

Shen Tunan went mad and tried to destroy the underground city, dragging everyone down with him. The Guiyuan Sword suddenly activated. Jiu Xuanye drew the Guiyuan Sword and struck at Shen Tunan, killing him. Though Shen Tunan was unwilling to accept his defeat after a lifetime of scheming, he ultimately fell into the Bone-washing Pool and disappeared. Jiu Xuanye tried to take Ban Xia away.

As everything was collapsing around them, Ban Xia, too weak to move, knew she could no longer leave. She could only urge Jiu Xuanye to leave quickly. At that moment, the Canglong Box activated the Changle Sword. In that instant, everything froze. Thinking of his past with Ban Xia, Jiu Xuanye finally decided to wield the Changle Sword, knowing that from then on, Ban Xia would no longer remember him.

Jiu Xuanye only wished for Ban Xia to live a life without worries. After swinging the Changle Sword, everything returned to peace.
