The First Frost is a urban romance drama directed by Qu You Ning, starring Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan, with supporting roles from Chen Haosen, Zhang Miaoyi, and Yuan Ye. Zhai Xiaowen makes a special appearance, and Wu Yuheng and Liu Chutian make guest appearances.
The drama is based on the novel of the same name by Zhu Yi. It tells the story of how, through a series of coincidences, Wen Yi Fan ends up living with her high school classmate, Sang Yan, whom she had previously rejected. Initially, the two keep their distance, but their paths cross when Wen Yi Fan learns from Sang Yan that she sleepwalks, which leads to an unexpected connection between them.

Synopsis
Wen Yifan returns to her hometown for work and unexpectedly meets her high school classmate, Sang Yan. After being separated for a long time, they pretend not to recognize each other, but keep running into one another. When Wen Yifan is harassed by the man next door, she decides to move. Sang Yan’s apartment is also affected by a fire from a neighbor’s home and needs renovation. By a twist of fate, they end up co-renting an apartment together.
Initially avoiding each other, they begin to break down the barriers between them and gradually grow closer. Sang Yan’s attentive care helps Wen Yifan open up and decide to take the initiative to pursue him. Sang Yan, in turn, crosses cities to confess his sincere feelings for her, and they officially become a couple.
Later, Wen Yifan confesses the real reason she didn’t apply to the same university as him, going against their earlier agreement. Upon hearing the truth, Sang Yan is deeply touched and vows to never let her be hurt again, protecting her with his actions. In the end, they move into a new home designed by Sang Yan and begin to build a happy life together.
