Eight years ago, on the day of the new student registration, the sun was shining brightly. At the entrance of Nanwu City's First High School, Wen Yifan's father dropped her off on his electric scooter. With her father's advice ringing in her ears, Wen Yifan happily ran into the school. Unable to find her class, she asked Sang Yan, who happened to be passing by.

When Wen Yifan finally arrived in the classroom, the teacher mistakenly thought she was Sang Yan. At that moment, Sang Yan arrived too. He and Wen Yifan were the only two students who were late, so the teacher assigned them to the last row of seats in the classroom, where they became desk mates. After the New Year’s Eve live broadcast, Wen Yifan declined Zhong Siqiao's enthusiastic invitation and went home alone, posting a moment on her social media.

Zhong Siqiao, at the party in the restaurant and bar, unexpectedly learned that Sang Yan was the owner of the bar street and quickly sent Wen Yifan a voice message. Wen Yifan opened her chat history with Sang Yan. Apart from the single question mark, there was nothing else. Quietly, she moved her bed and blocked the door, her mind swirling with emotions. Tears gently slid down her face, silently.

The next day, Wen Yifan visited a house that her colleague, Wang Linlin, was renting out. The environment was good, and it was close to the TV station. Although the rent wasn’t cheap, Wen Yifan decided to rent it for the sake of safety. Wang Linlin invited Wen Yifan to join her for a meal with her ex-boyfriend, Su Haoan.

Su Haoan immediately recognized Wen Yifan as Sang Yan’s "white moonlight" and excitedly shouted, waking up Sang Yan, who was sitting in the back seat. They had been in the same class in high school, and although Su Haoan said it was all in the past, Wen Yifan and Sang Yan still didn’t say a word to each other. The atmosphere was as cold as ice.

Su Haoan drove them to the "Overtime" restaurant and bar, where two of Sang Yan’s high school roommates also worked. The four of them had partnered to open the bar. Once everyone was gathered, Su Haoan couldn’t wait to spill the beans that today was Sang Yan’s birthday. After coming out of the restroom, Wen Yifan inexplicably ran into Sang Yan again.

She greeted him, saying "long time no see," to which Sang Yan replied, "We just saw each other on New Year’s Eve, it’s only been two days, it shouldn’t feel like a year. " Wen Yifan shot back that the reason she had been staring at him at the bathroom door was because his zipper was undone. Sang Yan was rendered speechless, and in that brief moment, Wen Yifan had already slipped into the elevator.

Wen Yifan excused herself early from work, and though Sang Yan didn’t say anything, he silently followed her outside. He suggested she lead the way to the underground parking lot to find Su Haoan’s car. When they found the car, Sang Yan stubbornly insisted it wasn’t on his way. While Wen Yifan was waiting for her ride, Sang Yan parked in front of her. The silence in the car was unnerving.

Wen Yifan suggested turning on some music, and they awkwardly started chatting. Wen Yifan asked if it was his birthday, and Sang Yan replied, "Did you forget? " Fragments of memories flashed through Wen Yifan’s mind. She remembered when Sang Yan gave her a birthday gift and casually mentioned that he was a Capricorn born on January 2nd. Back at her shared rental, the man who had tried to assault her before was released from custody.

He brought two friends with him, seeking revenge. Wen Yifan desperately tried to escape, running out of the compound, but she was cornered in a dead-end alley. In a critical moment, Sang Yan arrived just in time. He sent Wen Yifan into his car and then fought the group of men. To avoid hurting Wen Yifan, Sang Yan deliberately led them away. After shaking them off, Sang Yan returned to the car and took Wen Yifan away.

At the police station, Sang Yan scolded Wen Yifan for not following him when he had called her over while he was in front of her. Wen Yifan quickly explained that the other side was outnumbered. Concerned for Sang Yan's injuries, Wen Yifan bought some medicine to help him treat the wounds. Sang Yan acted tough, not saying anything on the surface, but deep down, his heart was stirred. Worried about Wen Yifan, Sang Yan followed her home.

He helped her pack her belongings and escorted her to her new rental. On the way back to the car, Sang Yan noticed that Wen Yifan had forgotten the keys to the shared rental in the passenger seat. He quietly went back to the shared rental alone and overheard the three men talking about secretly filming her. To confirm whether they had been spying on her, Sang Yan took care of them.
