One night in the Yihe University dormitory, Wen Yifan, while sleepwalking, turned on a desk lamp and stood there blankly, startling her roommates. The next day, after an exam, the roommates went to a social gathering, but Wen Yifan made an excuse to leave early so she could play video games with Sang Yan. Meanwhile, Zhong Siqiao was talking with Su Haoan's grandparents.
The grandmother recounted a recent solo road trip where she spent a day at the site where Su Haoan's parents and brother died in a car accident. She explained that facing the pain helped her truly move on, and she expressed her gratitude for still having her husband and Su Haoan in her life, concluding that living well was the most important thing. Later, Wen Yifan changed into a dress before leaving work to meet Sang Yan.
Her colleague, Mu Chengyun, saw her out and sincerely wished her happiness. At their friend Qian Fei's wedding, Duan Jiaxu arrived late. As soon as Duan Jiaxu sat down, Sang Yan, remembering Wen Yifan's past compliment about Duan Jiaxu's looks, started asking his friends who was more handsome, him or Duan Jiaxu. Wen Yifan received a call from Sang Yan and hurriedly got into a car, failing to notice a man watching her from afar.
After she left, the man glanced back at the television station. At the wedding, Sang Yan made a show of their relationship, and Wen Yifan publicly announced that she was the one who pursued him. A friend then mentioned that Sang Yan had been asking who was more handsome between him and Duan Jiaxu. Wen Yifan turned to Sang Yan and said she would vote for him.
Sang Yan arrogantly responded that he didn't need her vote, but Wen Yifan softly insisted that she meant it, asking why else she would have pursued him so intensely. As the wedding reception progressed, Wen Yifan drank a lot of alcohol. Sang Yan helped the inebriated Wen Yifan outside to wait for a taxi. She told him that she was saving money to support him in the future, to prevent him from smiling at other women.
Once in the taxi, Wen Yifan struggled to put on a pair of pants over her dress, so Sang Yan quickly shielded her with a bag and covered his face until she was done. In another car, Su Haoan told Zhong Siqiao how envious he was of Sang Yan's public announcement, as his previous girlfriends had never allowed him to post about their relationships on social media. After getting out of the taxi, Wen Yifan could barely stand.
Sang Yan dotingly carried her on his back, and she made him promise not to rely on his looks to make a living. On the way, she started talking about her time in the news department at Yihe Television, recalling how people gossiped that she only got the job due to a special relationship with her boss. Though she spoke lightly, her story made Sang Yan's heart ache for her. When she felt nauseous, Sang Yan put her down.
Looking at the stars, Wen Yifan apologized for her harsh words in the past, admitting that she didn't like Yihe or Beiyu. She added that Nanwu was the only place where she had someone she cared about. Back at home, Sang Yan prepared a hangover soup for Wen Yifan. She collapsed on the sofa, refusing to move to the bed because she felt she smelled bad from the alcohol.
Sang Yan told her to take a shower, but Wen Yifan playfully demanded he wash her. When Sang Yan refused, she jumped on him, wanting to sleep in his arms. He finally managed to get her to bed, but as he turned to leave, a drowsy Wen Yifan apologized again for avoiding him in the past. The next morning, Sang Yan woke up to find Wen Yifan hugging him. She awkwardly claimed she must have sleepwalked.
Sang Yan then recounted her drunken antics from the night before, reminding her that she had asked him to bathe her and even told a lame joke about animals. Later, Sang Yan provided her with a change of clothes and prepared a bath for her. He helped her remove her false eyelashes before telling her he would leave so she could get undressed and shower.
