The First Frost Episode 31 Recap
> The First Frost Recap
Wen Yifan's father rode an electric scooter to take her to her high school registration. They were running a bit late, so Wen Yifan hurriedly ran toward the school. At that moment, Sang Yan noticed her. But how could he start a conversation with her? Seeing Wen Yifan anxiously looking for her classroom, Sang Yan grabbed a basketball from a classmate and deliberately dribbled it on the steps she was passing by.
His leisurely demeanor made Wen Yifan mistake him for a senior, so she asked him for directions. During the New Year, Sang Yan brought Wen Yifan home. His parents were overjoyed and warmly welcomed Wen Yifan, all while nagging Sang Yan for being away for so long without a single message. If not for Wen Yifan, they might not have even had the chance to eat New Year's Eve dinner together.
Sang Zhi mentioned that after Wen Yifan and her brother broke up, Sang Yan was like a lost soul. But in a way, it was a good thing. Sang Yan had always been outstanding, surrounded by people who admired him, which made him a bit arrogant. Ever since he lost Wen Yifan, he started becoming more approachable and considerate of others.
During the meal, Sang Yan’s mother stared at Wen Yifan for a few seconds and praised her for being so beautiful, making Wen Yifan feel extremely shy. Wen Yifan explained that she and Sang Yan didn’t date in high school; they only got together after they started working. Sang Yan’s mother understood her son too well—he was stubborn and had always had his heart set on Wen Yifan.
After saying this, she handed red envelopes to her son, daughter, and Wen Yifan, specially telling Wen Yifan that she was now part of the family. Originally, Wen Yifan was supposed to sleep with Sang Zhi, but Sang Zhi was too busy chatting on the phone with Duan Jiaxu. So, Wen Yifan sneaked into Sang Yan’s room instead. As expected, Sang Yan was waiting for her.
Wen Yifan told him to call her "Ah Yan" from now on and then stood up to kiss him. Sang Yan kissed her back and agreed that he would always call her that. While Wen Yifan was packing, Sang Yan accidentally found a notebook. One of the pages had a name written on it—Mu Chengyun. Feeling a little jealous, he pouted. Wen Yifan laughed and coaxed him, even exposing his secret fear of horror movies.
Wen Yifan ran out of space in her suitcase, so she went to use one of Sang Yan’s. In the process, she discovered a metal box at the bottom of the suitcase. Inside, there were countless ticket stubs from Sang Yan’s trips to visit her in other cities, along with all the clippings of the reports she had written. Seeing these things, Wen Yifan’s eyes welled up with tears.
She told him that she had actually seen him at their graduation ceremony but didn’t chase after him because she thought she was mistaken. She regretted it deeply. Sang Yan wiped away Wen Yifan’s tears, pulled her to sit on his lap, and asked if she had ever done anything to wrong him. Wen Yifan nodded and confessed that before they got back together, she had taken advantage of him once—she had pretended to sleepwalk and hugged him.
Sang Yan set the password for their new home to the date they first met. The interior decor was exactly the same as their previous home, just so Wen Yifan wouldn’t feel unfamiliar.
