The Furthest Distance Synopsis

Su Ying, an interior designer, has suffered a betrayal in her relationship and has had difficulty in opening her heart for six years, focusing only on her career until she meets Qin Yunsheng again.

As Qin's house needs to be refurbished, they take part in the reality show "House Building" together.

As their contact increases, Su Ying gradually falls in love with Qin Yunsheng, but then realizes that Qin Yunsheng still misses his ex-girlfriend, Mi Su.

In order to cross the seemingly furthest distance between them, Su Ying takes the initiative to pursue love.

In the end, Qin Yunsheng is infected by Su Ying's brave and optimistic attitude, and gradually lets go of his past and emerges from the shadow of his ex-girlfriend's death.

With the support and encouragement of Qin Yunsheng, Su Ying takes a leap forward in her career and becomes a designer with both commercial values and humanistic sentiments.

Episode 1 Recap

Su Ying is a spatial designer who gave a speech today about the emotions and resonance in design. A student in the audience raised their hand to ask a question. Su Ying had become famous for her glass design in a past event called "Zao Wu Ji." The student asked her why she used glass material and what kind of love story it was. Su Ying replied that it was the happiest representation of love she had ever witnessed, and the audience was filled with admiration.

Qin Yunsheng stood in a glass room facing the sea, reminiscing about the joyful times he had with Mi Su in the same place. Unfortunately, Mi Su eventually passed away during surgery.

Su Ying returned home and watched the interview of Qin Yunsheng and Mi Su from their time in "Zao Wu Ji." Qin Yunsheng was Mi Su's attending physician, and he joined "Zao Wu Ji" for her. They wanted to create the best memories in this house during Mi Su's last days. Su Ying designed the glass room for them based on their wishes. Initially, others didn't understand Su Ying's proposal. She turned off the lights in the meeting room and used a flashlight to shine on a piece of glass, causing it to emit colorful lights. Mi Su loved it, and the plan was approved.

Su Ying visited the hospital to see Qin Yunsheng and asked how he had been in recent years. Qin Yunsheng smiled and said everything was fine. Su Ying offered to add Qin Yunsheng on WeChat, but before she could, an emergency patient arrived, and Qin Yunsheng rushed to attend to them. Su Ying left in disappointment. Su Ziyang, displeased with the request, asked Qin Yunsheng to find the original designer and left in a huff. After hearing Su Ziyang's words, Qin Yunsheng came up with a better idea.

Du Huixuan called an investor to inform them that the program was ready, but the investor wanted to withdraw their investment. Du Huixuan was angry and frustrated but had no choice. At that moment, Qin Yunsheng called Du Huixuan and explained his intention. Upon hearing it, Du Huixuan was filled with hope again. She conducted a site survey of the glass house and promised Qin Yunsheng that they would take responsibility for it.

Su Ying was troubled by the lack of practicality in her project when Du Huixuan approached her and asked her to participate in her program. Su Ying was initially hesitant but changed her mind when she heard it was about renovating the glass house.

In the evening, Qin Yunsheng hosted Su Ying on the couch, and they had a conversation. Su Ying offered to check the current condition of the glass house for him. Su Ying shared her thoughts, and suddenly, she noticed the tulips on the table, Mi Su's favorite flowers. She couldn't help but touch them. Qin Yunsheng saw this and gave Su Ying a tulip seed. Su Ying asked Qin Yunsheng why he wanted to rebuild the glass house, and he replied that he wanted to preserve this place for Mi Su.

The new producer, Peter Liu, chaired the first meeting of the "Building Chronicles" season, and Su Ying presented her plan. However, Peter Liu didn't quite agree and was concerned that mere repairs might affect the house's on-screen appeal. He wanted a major overhaul. Su Ying explained her reasons and refused the major changes. Peter Liu then tried to dig into Qin Yunsheng's privacy, asking if repairing the glass house was for Mi Su. Qin Yunsheng brushed it off. Peter Liu also proposed turning the sixth season into a love memoir for Qin Yunsheng and Mi Su, which made Qin Yunsheng uncomfortable. Su Ying stood up for Qin Yunsheng and rejected the idea. Despite this, Peter Liu continued to push and wanted to include Su Ying in the publicity. Du Huixuan indignantly told Su Ying about the malicious editing, assuring her support. Su Ying advised her not to get too worked up and to handle things calmly. After Du Huixuan left to work on the editing, Su Ying opened the comments and cursed.

In the design studio, they discussed the specific plans for the glass house. Qin Yunsheng messaged Su Ying, wanting to talk to her about something and waited outside. However, Su Ying received a call from a client and went out to attend to it. Xu Mingshi, seeing Qin Yunsheng outside, informed him that Du Huixuan had clarified everything. Although Qin Yunsheng wanted to talk to Su Ying in person, Xu Mingshi convinced him to leave for the time being.

Su Ying was busy the entire day, and that evening, Qin Yunsheng, observing her from outside the design studio, refrained from disturbing her. Du Huixuan informed Qin Yunsheng that they would need to work together for a few days, and he chuckled, suggesting they should start as soon as possible. However, when Du Huixuan conveyed this to Su Ying, she mentioned her reluctance to be seen with Qin Yunsheng due to the endoscopy and requested Du Huixuan's assistance.

On the day of their work, Su Ying and Qin Yunsheng recorded together. While rehearsing the script, Qin Yunsheng hinted that Su Ying was avoiding the endoscopy, employing a persuasive technique. Su Ying eventually agreed to have the procedure.

Upon receiving the endoscopy report, Su Ying's face turned pale as it indicated a possibility of gastric cancer. After heavy rain, Du Huixuan called Su Ying to inform her that their warehouse had been flooded. Su Ying urgently looked for a new warehouse, and eventually, Qin Yunsheng suggested using the glass house. Everyone hurriedly moved the items, and Xu Mingshi also joined them. The warehouse had a leak due to a loose ceiling, and during the day, a designer named Su was checking the warehouse. Episode 30 (Ending) Recap

Everyone together reenacted the details of the night when Qin Yunsheng and Su Ying first kissed. Xu Mingshi and Du Huixuan kissed, Hai Ge brought congee, Director Ruan helped Han Jie tie her hair, Zhang Yisen played the guitar and sang. Su Ying, feeling a mix of emotions, watched as others danced, while she sat alone, bitterly eating and drinking. Qin Yunsheng watched this scene from afar. After dinner, Su Ying walked alone to the seaside, recalling every moment she spent with Qin Yunsheng. Su Ying sat on the beach, crying, and Du Huixuan came over to comfort her. Su Ying, in tears, expressed her longing for Qin Yunsheng, and Du Huixuan consoled her.

Several days passed, and Su Ying continued to miss Qin Yunsheng. She went to the glass house, repeatedly checking Qin Yunsheng's sunset moments on social media. The next day, when Su Ying arrived at the studio, Xu Mingshi and others were still acting. Su Ying interrupted them and called Qin Yunsheng out. Qin Yunsheng told them to stop pretending, as Su Ying already knew everything. The group apologized to Su Ying, and she forgave them.

Su Ying and Qin Yunsheng continued their sweet life, and the relationship between Xu Mingshi and Du Huixuan also warmed up. Zhang Yisen got the opportunity to work abroad and happily informed Mi Bai. Cai Chen's work status improved, and she got her first contract. She shared her joy with Cao Xiaoye, who suggested they go out to eat. However, Cao Xiaoye suddenly said she would treat, revealing that her library case had become a popular check-in spot. The two embraced and twirled around.
