The General's Sweety Recap
Episode 1 Recap
Li Lan was reading the manga "The General's Sweety" when she accidentally crossed into the world of the manga. She happened to encounter General Wang Jin, who was being pursued by someone. Li Lan, observing the chaotic situation, picked up a stick and threw it, unintentionally hitting Wang Jin with a direct blow, leaving him bewildered.
Fearing that the villains might still be after them, Li Lan exerted great effort to drag Wang Jin into a cave. As expected, it didn't take long for Li Lan's father, Li Song, to arrive with Liu Changfeng. They had come looking for Li Lan, as their subordinates had reported seeing her run off with a man the previous night. Li Song was a compulsive gambler who owed a lot of money to Mr. Liu. In the end, he could only use his daughter as collateral. Li Lan thought Wang Jin had died, and she even touched his nose to check. The night passed, and when Liu Changfeng and his men arrived at the cave, they found the two who had just woken up. Li Lan faced her father and others, unable to explain.
Due to the blow to his head, Wang Jin lost his memory, which left Li Lan feeling helpless. Eventually, her father kicked her out of the house, and people gossiped about her not upholding her virtue. When Li Song realized his daughter was no longer of any use, he turned to Wang Jin for money. However, Wang Jin not only had no money but also had no recollection of who he was, despite a thorough search of his body, which only yielded a jade pendant.
Episode 2 Recap
Li Song, using a jade pendant as a lead, found the Wang family residence. When Mrs. Wang saw her son return, she was overjoyed. However, she noticed that her son had clearly lost a lot of weight, and upon hearing from Li Lan that Wang Jin had amnesia, she became instantly worried. Li Song was thinking to himself that a camel is bigger than a horse even when it's skinny and that he could sell his daughter anywhere. Unexpectedly, before Li Song could say anything, Mrs. Wang spoke up first, and she directly asked Li Lan how far their relationship had progressed.
Li Lan was very surprised, clearly a victim of a misunderstanding. Upon hearing Mrs. Wang's words, Li Song was quite pleased. In this unwilling situation, Li Lan was forced to marry Wang Jin, who had lost his memory. Li Lan had no choice but to write many agreements and compel Wang Jin to sign them. However, Wang Jin, having amnesia, had no idea what these agreements were, only feeling like he, as the second party, was at a disadvantage. Li Song had been eavesdropping at the door the whole time but couldn't hear anything.
Early in the morning during breakfast, they saw a table full of potatoes, which even puzzled Wang Jin. Li Lan immediately inquired about the location of the kitchen and went on to make a plate of French fries. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and they were all surprised that potatoes could be prepared this way. Li Lan felt that everyone's life was too bland and uninteresting, so she made a lot of French fries and went to the street to set up a stall, naming it "General's French Fries."
Episode 3 Recap
Wang Jin was on street patrol, while Li Lan was buying French fries. Many people, upon seeing General Wang Jin return, curiously gathered to have a look. Suddenly, Ning Yu saw Wang Jin and inquired why he was ignoring everyone. She bought all the French fries and, on her way home, continuously asked Wang Jin about the past ten-plus years and if everything was still alright at home.
Ning Yu's appearance surprised everyone. She and Wang Jin were childhood sweethearts, deeply in love. However, now that Wang Jin had amnesia, he couldn't recall their past together. When Wang Jin took out their couple's bracelet, everyone was left dumbfounded. Li Lan looked at Ning Yu with an expression of discontent. Mrs. Wang, observing the relationship between Ning Yu and Wang Jin, could only arrange for her to stay at the mansion and wait for Wang Jin's memories to return.
Wang Jin found himself caught between two women, and he was in a difficult situation. He couldn't rest peacefully. Li Lan thought that even though they had reluctantly married, she couldn't lose the momentum. Ning Yu also realized that she was a step too late as they had already married. Ning Yu accompanied Wang Jin to buy French fries and took good care of him. Mr. Liu's people noticed that someone had been selling French fries in the streets recently, and this person turned out to be Wang Jin and Li Lan. Mr. Liu became immediately displeased and decided to send people to cause trouble.
Episode 4 Recap
Li Lan and Wang Jin were buying French fries on the street when Mr. Liu, the boss, came with his men to disrupt their stall. Wang Jin initially thought he wasn't skilled, and he suffered some minor setbacks at first. However, he quickly turned the tables and defeated the opposing group, forcing Mr. Liu to leave with a strong warning. The group had no choice but to pack up their stall and head home.
As soon as Li Lan entered, she saw Wang Jin applying medicine to himself. She helped Wang Jin tenderly with the medication. Wang Jin could tell that Li Lan had something on her mind. Li Lan felt that the stall rental fees were too expensive and not paying them was not an option. Moreover, relying solely on selling French fries wouldn't sustain them financially or support their household. Wang Jin suggested that having a restaurant would be a good idea, and Ning Yu also found it feasible. So, the three of them went to buy back the restaurant.
When Mr. Liu saw that they had come to him on their own, he thought about teaching them a lesson. However, he was surprised to learn that they came to buy back the restaurant and were willing to pay interest. Wang Jin didn't have the money at the moment and suggested paying at the end of the month, but Mr. Liu adamantly refused, making it clear that buying back the restaurant without the immediate payment was impossible.
Ning Yu took out her personal jade pendant to cover the debt. Mr. Liu noticed it was a high-quality jade pendant and agreed to their request. Mr. Liu, looking at the jade, had a feeling it wasn't just an ordinary pendant and decided to have it investigated in the capital to trace its origin.
Episode 5 Recap
Li Lan accidentally cut her hand while cutting meat, and Wang Jin, feeling sorry for her, wrapped her injured finger. Coincidentally, Ning Yu witnessed this and became jealous. She claimed to be short of help in cleaning and asked Wang Jin for assistance. However, Wang Jin wanted to help Li Lan with cutting the meat, and Li Lan volunteered to help Ning Yu with cleaning. But Ning Yu declined Li Lan's offer and cleaned by herself, all the while complaining about Wang Jin and scolding him for being heartless.
Li Lan worked on designing the marketing plan for the restaurant. She listed everything from food safety to service quality and operational procedures. She also provided training to the staff and explained the restaurant's situation in detail. The top priority was ensuring food safety, including the source of ingredients, which needed to be safe and reliable. Li Lan also discussed the restaurant's opening, in-house activities, discounts, benefits, and specific services. Although not everyone fully understood, they listened attentively to Li Lan.
Jin Lan Xuan Restaurant had just opened, and it was filled with customers. Everyone was extremely busy. Wang Jin, dressed in armor, stood at the entrance and called out to attract customers. Many people entered the restaurant and took their seats. With Li Lan's unique way of taking orders, they earned a considerable amount of money by the end of the day, much more than what they used to earn selling French fries. The group looked at the day's results and shared smiles.
Episode 6 Recap
While Li Lan was on her way to buy groceries, she encountered a young girl being mistreated by others and kindly rescued her, bringing her back to the restaurant. Li Lan noticed the girl had a talent for cutting vegetables and decided to keep her in the kitchen to help. In the evening, Wang Jin was calculating the restaurant's revenue and realized it was slightly lower than the previous days. He curiously asked Li Lan what she had been preparing with the beef all day, and she assured him that there would be a surprise for everyone.
Early in the morning, Li Song arrived at the restaurant with Wang Jin. Li Lan was well aware of her father's nature and warned him not to cause trouble. Coincidentally, Li Lan was holding a plate of meat, which Li Song took from her. Li Lan looked at her father with a sense of helplessness. Suddenly, Qin Junyi (played by Ke Jun) arrived at the restaurant. He had come to find Ning Yu and heard that she was opening a restaurant here.
Ning Yu had just arrived when he presented the gift he had brought, claiming it was a Qixi Festival gift for her. He said he knew that the princess had endured a lot of suffering. Upon hearing "princess," Ning Yu panicked as she had been concealing her identity when opening the restaurant. Just then, Wang Jin appeared, and Qin Junyi, unaware of Wang Jin's amnesia, mentioned that he had brought a gift to see General Wang, who had resigned from his post, out of concern. Li Lan couldn't help but laugh when she saw the hairpin and flowers in his hands.
Episode 7 Recap
Surprisingly, Li Lan's "Lamp Shadow Beef" became incredibly popular, and the restaurant was bustling with business. However, Li Song was at the restaurant, treating his friends to food and drinks, claiming that it was his own restaurant. He declared that in the future, anyone mentioning his name, Li Song, would get a special discount, and he kept calling the restaurant staff.
Qin Junyi, seeing Ning Yu continuously busy, kindly brought her some food, but she declined his offer.
In the evening, Li Song thoughtfully brought a pot of chicken soup to Li Lan, thinking she had a tough day. However, he took the opportunity to steal all of Li Lan's money and secretly gave it to Mr. Liu, paying back the full four hundred taels. Li Lan was furious upon discovering this, as the restaurant wouldn't be able to operate without that money. They wondered how to handle the situation. Ning Yu offered to sell some of her jewelry to help, and Mrs. Wang assured everyone not to worry too much, as she would cover the expenses. They were all concerned about the situation.
Suddenly, Li Lan shouted, seemingly coming up with an idea. Mr. Feng then arrived at Jin Lan Xuan. When many people saw Mr. Feng's arrival, they all rushed to Jin Lan Xuan. Mr. Liu was curious about why no one was in his restaurant, but he didn't seem to mind. As soon as Mr. Feng entered, he instructed Li Lan to serve the restaurant's signature dish promptly, emphasizing that it had to be not only talked about as delicious but also served promptly.
Episode 8 Recap
Mr. Feng was quickly served a plate of "Lamp Shadow Beef." After taking a bite, he couldn't help but praise it repeatedly. The beef was not only thinly sliced but also incredibly flavorful. Li Lan saw an opportunity and promptly introduced a membership points system. Despite the new store's ongoing discounts, Li Lan added a membership points system with both purchases and rewards. Everyone was concerned that this might result in financial losses.
Upon seeing the situation, Li Song, along with a few others, hurriedly went to the front to start adding money to their memberships. Everyone joined as members, and the atmosphere became lively. Li Lan was carefully tallying the accounts while Li Song kindly inquired about the restaurant's income. Concerned that Li Song might have more money-related ideas, she discreetly hid the money behind her.
Soon after, Li Lan used the money to pay Liu Changfeng. Unexpectedly, due to the poor business at the restaurant, Liu Changfeng vented his anger on Li Lan's restaurant. He issued a market order prohibiting everyone from selling goods to Jin Lan Xuan. He wanted to see how Jin Lan Xuan would continue its business.
As expected, when they went to the market early in the morning to buy ingredients, they couldn't find any meat or vegetables. They had no choice but to temporarily close down. Li Lan suspected that Liu Jin was behind this, and when she went to repay the money, Liu Jin warned her not to try any tricks, stating that running a business here required honesty. This angered Ning Yu, and she wanted to confront Liu Jin, but the group managed to stop her.
Episode 9 Recap
Several people were baffled by the sudden closure of the restaurant. Just as they were trying to understand the situation, a group of individuals arrived, all demanding refunds in unison. Before Li Lan could explain, most of them entered the restaurant. It was clear that someone had instigated them to cause trouble. The troublemakers, realizing that everyone else had gone into the restaurant, left dejectedly.
Ning Yu wanted to pursue the fleeing troublemakers but was intercepted by Qin Junyi. The priority was to take care of the restaurant's customers. Li Lan quickly prepared food for everyone with the limited ingredients, while Liu Changfeng was cooking. Suddenly, he caught a small lobster with his tongs, and news quickly spread that a large insect had appeared in the area. It not only bit people but was also venomous.
Li Lan was fishing by the river and unexpectedly caught a lobster. Wang Jin shouted from a distance, warning that the creature was toxic and should not be touched. Only after Li Lan explained did Wang Jin relent. In the evening, Li Lan indeed prepared a plate of small lobsters for everyone to enjoy. Everyone relished the meal, but Ning Yu couldn't peel them herself. As a grand princess, she had never done such tasks. Her Qin Junyi had already peeled a whole plate for her. However, a plate of lobsters ended up being passed around between several people, and it ultimately landed in Li Lan's hands, leaving her in a dilemma.
Episode 10 Recap
After being bitten by the insect, Liu Boss had been continuously detoxifying and taking medicine. However, he never expected that Li Lan's business would thrive due to the small lobsters. When Liu Boss heard this news, he couldn't stay in bed any longer, feeling instantly better. Just as Li Lan entered with the money, giving him four hundred taels, it completely infuriated Liu Boss.
A major customer suddenly arrived at Li Lan's restaurant, claiming that their family had dined at Jinlan Xuan and found the food to be exceptionally delicious. They asked if Li Lan could cater to them, and without hesitation, Li Lan agreed. It was clear that this was a high-value customer. Many people in the street were talking about how tasty Li Lan's restaurant's food was. Unfortunately, some malicious rumors had misled them, stating that the food was not clean, leading to digestive problems. A few people who were initially skeptical fell for this ruse because the deception was so convincing.
Suddenly, a group of officials arrived, alleging that Li Lan had poisoned the food and were about to make arrests. Wang Jin tried to intervene but was struck by a heavy blow that sent him reeling. Unexpectedly, this blow triggered the recovery of his memory. After regaining consciousness, he left Li Lan bewildered. Wang Jin realized that Ning Yu was the eldest princess and that the Emperor would be worried about her extended absence. He even took off the bracelet he was wearing and, seeing how he was intimidating everyone, Ning Yu looked at the bracelet, feeling unjust and gazing at it with a sad expression.
Episode 11 Recap
When Wang Jin woke up, he secretly went to the Jia Family to check the situation. He observed from the rooftop for a while, and it seemed he had figured something out. He even discreetly brought back half a bowl of medicine left by the old lady. In their room, Wang Jin and Li Lan were examining what had been added to the medicine. Wang Jin decided to taste it himself, but Li Lan wouldn't allow him to take such a risk. She said that if someone had to try it, it should be her. They ended up arguing over a bowl of medicine.
Suddenly, Ning Yu walked in and witnessed their heated exchange. She took the bowl from them. But before she could say anything, Qin Junyi entered. He turned out to be the unlucky one because after drinking a bit of the medicine, he hardly got up again. His symptoms were just like those of Jia's mother. Wang Jin's suspicion had proven to be correct; the maidservant had poisoned the medicine. In the evening, she tried to give another bowl of medicine to the old lady, but Wang Jin caught her in the act.
The group persuaded the maidservant to drink the medicine, only to find out that Liu Jin had given her some silver to poison it. Soon, Mr. Jia reported the matter to the authorities and had Liu Jin arrested. Business at Jinlan Xuan returned to normal. Due to Li Lan's promotion, there was already a queue forming outside the restaurant. Since Wang Jin had regained his memory, he was no longer on guard duty wearing armor. Li Lan noticed this change and promptly asked him to change his clothes.
Episode 12 Recap
Business at the restaurant was getting better and better. Li Lan finally paid off the last installment to Mr. Liu and reclaimed Ning Yu's jade pendant. Everyone was feeling much more relaxed. However, during a meal, Li Lan noticed that Wang Jin always seemed gloomy. She approached him and asked what was on his mind.
Wang Jin actually felt that their Qingshui County was too isolated. It had almost no connection to the outside world, and trade was limited due to the lack of proper roads. Access was inconvenient because of the mountainous terrain. He thought about whether it was possible to build a major road that would connect Qingshui County to the outside world, allowing goods to be transported in and out, and fostering development. However, the major problem was funding.
He tried reaching out to the local government, but they declined, citing a lack of funds. The group discussed whether they could use the restaurant's money, but Li Lan vehemently opposed the idea. Stuck in this impasse, Wang Jin refrained from forcing the issue. Ning Yu suggested that she could ask her father for funds, but Wang Jin interrupted her immediately. He had to think of an alternative solution.
He set up a meeting with some local wealthy merchants, but when they heard about the road construction project and that they'd have to contribute funds, no one was willing to participate. Each person came up with excuses and left. This left Wang Jin feeling quite frustrated. These people appeared wealthy, but not one of them was willing to contribute. Li Lan observed Wang Jin's disappointment and felt unsure about what to do next.
Episode 13 Recap
Wang Jin initially faced rejections when he sought funding for the road project. He then tried approaching others, but they also turned him down. Li Lan noticed his determination and found Wang Jin standing alone in the courtyard, lost in thought. She kindly handed him a coat and provided some money. Everyone was willing to help, with tasks and responsibilities clearly defined, which boosted Wang Jin's confidence.
Liu Changfeng, realizing that Wang Jin was fully occupied with the road construction, decided to create trouble for Jinlan Pavilion. He arranged for people to cause a disturbance. Li Lan could tell that these troublemakers were clearly following someone's orders. She quickly dispatched people from the restaurant to the construction site to find Wang Jin. A few burly men tried to take advantage of the situation and even bullied the restaurant staff, but when things escalated, Qin Junyi stepped in to protect everyone. Ning Yu attentively administered medication for his wounds. Little did anyone know, Qin Junyi had deep feelings for Ning Yu.
On the way to the road construction site, Wang Jin fell into an ambush. Fortunately, he swiftly dealt with the attackers and drove them away. But by the time he reached the restaurant, it was already late. Li Lan was angry when she saw Wang Jin arrive late, complaining that he prioritized the road project over everything else. Everyone felt unfairly treated. Wang Jin was also frustrated, as he hadn't foreseen the ambush in the woods. If he had arrived earlier, perhaps Qin Junyi wouldn't have been injured. Li Lan was exasperated because they faced disruptions in their business every few days.
Episode 14 Recap
Wang Jin was preparing food at the construction site when suddenly a wave of dizziness washed over him. He handed the task to others but fainted before they could take over. It turned out that Wang Jin's chronic stomach ailment had flared up. The doctor cautioned him not to consume cold foods in the future, which worried Li Lan and the others.
Ning Yu was especially concerned about Wang Jin and went with him to the construction site to help with the cooking. However, when she saw the watery gruel in the pot, she was at a loss for words.
Just when they were figuring out what to do, Li Lan arrived carrying two large baskets. She had brought lunch for everyone. To their surprise, Li Lan had invented self-heating lunchboxes, and the dishes were still warm. This brought joy to everyone. Wang Jin couldn't help but smile as he watched Li Lan's heartfelt efforts. The self-heating lunchboxes from Jinlan Pavilion also sold well. Many people were unwilling to go home for lunch and bought their lunchboxes instead.
Liu Changfeng started to advertise loudly, claiming that he had made a crab dish fit for the imperial court. Following Li Lan's previous approach, he encouraged people to become members. Despite the curiosity of the onlookers, nobody was willing to enter and try the food. However, at that moment, Mr. Feng arrived and personally tasted the dish. He declared it delicious, and the townspeople followed his lead, much to Liu Changfeng's delight.
Episode 15 Recap
Liu Restaurant suddenly had many more customers, but some found the dishes too expensive. Unexpectedly, Liu Changfeng came forward to praise the dish extravagantly, stating that when you eat this imperial cuisine, you're eating status and social standing. Pricing it too low would diminish its value. With Mr. Feng chiming in, even those who initially hesitated now demanded a serving. This delighted Liu's boss.
Ning Yu was busy with accounting when Qin Junyi suggested they go flower viewing early today since they had fewer customers. She was worried about the decrease in customers, so she had Qin Junyi buy Liu Restaurant's Golden Pumpkin Baked Crab. Li Lan just tasted a bit and figured out how to make this dish, which was essentially steamed crab with pumpkin, presented as something high-end. The next day, they introduced a new dish priced much lower than Liu's.
Soon, Jinlan Pavilion was packed with guests, while Liu's restaurant was almost empty. Liu's boss even had a falling out with Mr. Feng. Mr. Feng admitted that the food at Jinlan Pavilion was indeed better. Workers were busy on the construction site when someone came running, saying that there was blood on the ground. Everyone was alarmed, thinking they had offended the gods by building the road, and now it couldn't be completed. Wang Jin was frustrated and brought a sample of the red soil back to show Li Lan. After seeing the soil, Li Lan suggested taking Wang Jin around to various places.
Episode 16 Recap
Li Lan believed that the red soil might indicate the presence of tea leaves. So, she took Wang Jin to the construction site, and indeed, their efforts paid off. They finally found tea leaves. They gathered some leaves and Li Lan started drying them. She brewed tea for everyone, and they all found it delicious. She had Li Song invite many villagers and told them that if the road was completed, the tea leaves could be sold for a good price.
Initially, some were hesitant, but they eventually agreed. Men would work on the road, and the women would pick tea leaves. Once the road was complete, they could start selling the tea leaves. Li Lan assured Wang Jin not to worry; she already had a plan. She had been working continuously. Since the tea leaves were so fragrant, she believed tea eggs made from them would also be delicious. Wang Jin had been feeling down due to the road construction halt, so Li Lan handed him a plate of tea eggs and he couldn't help but praise how delicious they were.
Soon, the five-spice eggs became a popular delicacy at Jinlan Pavilion. Everyone was eager to buy them, and the price was reasonable. Even Liu's boss's employees bought many of them, intending to have their boss taste the eggs. Surprisingly, Liu's boss was too absorbed in his new product and didn't seem to care about the delicious five-spice eggs.
Episode 17 Recap
Liu Changfeng made a matcha cake that was well-received by everyone, especially the children. Liu's restaurant became very popular. Even the people from Jinlan Pavilion bought some to try. Li Lan, passing by and seeing Qingqing eating the cake, asked if it was really that delicious. She suggested Li Lan make this cake herself, but Li Lan refused.
Soon, Mr. Feng found Li Lan, intending to sell her the recipe for the matcha cake. He wanted Li Lan to make it too. However, Li Lan refused. One reason was that the cake contained cream, which was not easy to store. Additionally, the cake had a high cost, and many people were unwilling to pay a high price. Li Lan offered her own new product to Mr. Feng, who tried it and praised it. It was Li Lan's special milk tea.
With the road under construction, Wang Jin didn't have to stay at the construction site anymore. He was worried about Li Lan's restaurant. He took out a bracelet, but Li Lan noticed that he wasn't eager to put it on her and seemed a bit stubborn. Unexpectedly, Wang Jin took her hand and put the bracelet on for her. The two of them leaned against each other while gazing at the night scenery.
Due to the high cost of the matcha cake, many people were unwilling to buy it. Liu Changfeng decided to reduce the cost, which made the cake less delicious, and naturally, fewer people bought it.
Episode 18 Recap
Li Lan's milk tea quickly went on sale, and many people were enjoying it. In addition, the ingredients inside made it even more appealing. However, before everyone could react, Liu's restaurant introduced tea milk with a lower price than Li Lan's milk tea and a buy-one-get-one-free promotion. This made everyone quite distressed. People had someone buy Liu's tea milk, which tasted exactly the same. No one could detect any difference.
People couldn't understand why the milk tea was identical. In their confusion, Qin Junyi suddenly thought of one thing: the recipe had been leaked. However, only the five of them knew the milk tea recipe. Li Lan suddenly thought of Feng Yao and, therefore, they questioned Mr. Feng to find out if he had leaked the recipe to Liu's restaurant. Nobody else knew about it.
Feng Yao felt wronged and believed he was unfairly accused. He initially thought Li Lan had made some new product and invited him to taste it, but it turned out to be about the leaked milk tea recipe. Facing five people's questioning, he couldn't explain himself and left angrily.
Wang Jin's road construction project was nearly complete. Liu Changfeng's master instructed him not to constantly keep an eye on Li Lan from Jinlan Pavilion but to focus on his work.
Episode 19 Recap
Li Lan, in the midst of working on her future sales plan for the leaked milk tea recipe, was interrupted by Ning Yu. Ning Yu wanted to discuss something with her, and she candidly revealed her identity as the Princess of Ning Guo. She had come to Qingshui County to find Wang Jin because she had liked him since childhood. However, upon arriving here, she discovered that Wang Jin had lost his memory.
As the Princess of Ning Guo and Wang Jin being the Grand Marshal of the Western Expedition, they were a match made in heaven. If they were together, Wang Jin would become a nobleman, ranking above tens of thousands of others. This should have been the life he deserved, rather than being the mascot at the entrance of Jinlan Pavilion selling fries. These words left Li Lan deep in thought.
The road was finally completed, bringing joy to Wang Jin. He used a loudspeaker to inform the local villagers that they no longer had to eat potatoes every day. Li Lan was also happy for him.
Soon, a group of merchants came to sell rice, but their prices were much lower than what Liu's restaurant offered, which upset Liu Changfeng. He gathered a group of people to confront the merchants and began to physically assault them. The merchants thought they were there to buy rice and were taken by surprise when they realized they were under attack. Thankfully, Wang Jin intervened at a critical moment, and Liu Changfeng's group desisted from their actions.
Episode 20 Recap
Qin Junyi had long noticed Ning Yu's feelings, and now that she had regained her memory, there was no point in her staying any longer. As the princess of Ning Guo, she had been away for quite some time. Did she really plan to become an accountant and manager at a local restaurant for the rest of her life? Ning Yu felt restless, and she didn't want to engage with Qin Junyi, as she was wholeheartedly focused on Wang Jin.
Since the road had been completed, people from Qingshui County had started selling their goods outside, making much more profit than when they were supplying the Liu family. Two local wealthy merchants invited Wang Jin, hoping that he would join the merchant association to advocate for more benefits for the people. They also wanted him to take on the role of chairman. Although he hadn't immediately agreed, Wang Jin said he needed a few days to think about it.
After reconciling with Li Lan, Wang Jin and she enjoyed a sweet relationship. Wang Jin had also become more persuasive. Eventually, for the sake of the people, he agreed to temporarily assume the role of chairman in the merchant association. He first reduced the booth fees for everyone, which made many people no longer fear Liu Changfeng. This infuriated Liu Changfeng. To make matters worse, much of the rice from Liu's restaurant had gone bad due to its high prices. In desperation, Liu Changfeng turned to Wang Jin, hoping to buy back the position of chairman in the merchant association with money.
Episode 21 Recap
Qin Junyi had long recognized Ning Yu's feelings. Now that Ning Yu had regained her memory, there was no meaning in staying further. She was, after all, the princess of Ning Guo, and she had been away for so long. Did she truly intend to become an accountant and manager at a local restaurant for the rest of her life? Ning Yu felt a sense of urgency but chose not to engage with him. She was well aware of Qin Junyi's feelings for her, but she was wholeheartedly devoted to Wang Jin.
Since the road had been completed, people in Qingshui County had started selling their goods outside, making much more profit than they did when supplying the Liu family. Two local wealthy merchants specially invited Wang Jin, hoping he would join their trade association, advocating for more benefits for the people. They also hoped he would take on the role of chairman. Although he didn't immediately agree, he said he needed a few days to think about it.
After reconciling with Wang Jin, Li Lan and he were very affectionate. Wang Jin had become more persuasive. In the end, for the sake of the people, he agreed to temporarily take on the role of chairman in the trade association. He first reduced everyone's booth fees. Many people were no longer afraid of Liu Changfeng, which infuriated him. What was even more vexing was that due to high prices, much of the rice from the Liu family had gone bad. Liu Changfeng was forced to turn to Wang Jin, hoping to buy back the position of chairman in the trade association with money.
Episode 22 Recap
Liu Changfeng had messed up many things, and Liu Jin was killed for being too talkative. Left with no other option, Liu Changfeng resorted to robbing the trade association's convoy, planning to kill Wang Jin. When Wang Jin noticed that Li Lan was not returning home, he went to find her with a lantern. To his surprise, he found Li Lan at the crossroads, pale and frightened. Wang Jin was very concerned about her, but he had to accompany the trade association's convoy for some time.
Although Li Lan was reluctant and worried, she couldn't help but feel that many things had been strange lately. Not only were many new recipes always obtained by Liu Changfeng, but she also had a constant feeling of being watched. Wang Jin understood Li Lan's excessive worry, and soon she bid farewell to him. Ning Yu also came to see him off, but they couldn't talk for long before Wang Jin was called away.
As soon as Wang Jin left, Ning Yu proposed a deal with Li Lan. She offered to help Li Lan expand her hotel business throughout Ning Guo if Li Lan would leave Wang Jin. She promised to agree to anything as long as Li Lan left Wang Jin. However, Li Lan rejected all of her offers, which forced Ning Yu to implement her second plan.
Sure enough, shortly after Wang Jin's departure, he encountered Liu Changfeng and his gang on the road attempting to rob him. Fortunately, Wang Jin was well-prepared. However, what Wang Jin didn't anticipate was that shortly after he left, Li Lan was targeted. Qin Junyi used Wang Jin's absence to deceive Li Lan.
Episode 23 Recap
Qin Junyi had long noticed that Wang Jin had no interest in Ning Yu, but she refused to give up. Frustrated, he planned to kill Wang Jin. However, Ning Yu rejected this plan. Instead, he resorted to a staged drama to test Wang Jin's true feelings. Just as Wang Jin was about to attack Liu Changfeng, Liu Changfeng suddenly revealed a secret to him—someone was planning to kill Wang Jin, and he was unaware of it.
Suddenly, Qin Junyi rushed over with a letter, claiming that Ning Yu and Li Lan had been kidnapped. In this simple game, Ning Yu also saw Wang Jin's true intentions. Qin Junyi believed that Wang Jin had been playing games with the princess, and as long as he remained in their lives, Ning Yu would never be able to like him. He was about to kill Wang Jin when Ning Yu stepped in to protect him. Reluctantly, Ning Yu had to follow Qin Junyi back to the capital to proceed with the arranged marriage.
Leaving Li Lan and Wang Jin behind, everyone could finally be together happily. They were no longer in a situation where their table was only filled with potatoes, as it was at the beginning. While they were enjoying their meal, Li Song suddenly asked how Wang Jin's recovery was going. He and Li Lan had been together for quite some time, but there hadn't been any activity. Wang Jin suddenly realized what Li Song meant, and both he and Li Lan were surprised. Since their wedding, they hadn't consummated their marriage yet, which worried Li Lan.
Episode 24 (Ending) Recap
While everyone was having their meal, the fact that Wang Jin and Li Lan hadn't consummated their marriage yet became a topic of concern for Madam Wang. Li Lan quickly reassured her father not to worry about her. Their wedding had been a hasty affair initially, and she wanted a proper wedding of her own.
