Ning Yu returned to the palace, and this concerned the Emperor. Ning Yu informed the Emperor that during her journey, she and Qin Junyi had privately committed to a lifelong relationship. The Emperor praised Qin Junyi when he learned he was the son of Prime Minister Qin. However, he was unaware of another side of Qin Junyi. It turned out that Qin Junyi's father, Prime Minister Qin, had been the one planning to assassinate Wang Jin all along. Li Lan was walking alone on the street, reminiscing about their past. She pondered the possibility that their fates had been intertwined long ago. She wondered if not returning might be for the best. Lost in her memories, Wang Jin hurriedly approached her, blindfolding her with a ribbon and telling her he was taking her somewhere.
