The Inextricable Destiny Episode 21 Recap
> The Inextricable Destiny Recap
Jiuling met the Emperor, already having a plan to destroy the star map. She intended to set fire to the Astrology Pavilion, but since it housed numerous astrologers, she was concerned about harming the innocent. She requested that the Emperor find a way to reassign those astrologers. The Emperor realized that there might be a readily available solution. The Empress Dowager's banquet was approaching, and it was an opportunity for all astrologers to enter the palace to offer congratulations.
The princess arrived at the Rong residence, demanding to see Rong Yu. Zhan Ping couldn't stop her, so Rong Yu had to come out to persuade Zhan Ping to return to his room. The princess informed Rong Yu that she couldn't practice her zither properly and decided not to attend the Empress Dowager's banquet. She suggested that Rong Yu go alone. Rong Yu paid no attention to her, which made the princess angry. She lashed her whip, nearly hitting Rong Yu. Jiuling arrived just in time and grabbed the whip. She sternly said that it was her leftover toy. Who did the princess think she was to challenge Rong Yu, whom Jiuling had jurisdiction over? The princess left in a huff.
After the princess left, Zhan Ping was worried about how Rong Yu would manage on his own at the banquet. Jiuling insisted that they had to keep their promise and participate. She asked Rong Yu to play the zither for her once more. When the time came for the Empress Dowager's banquet, Rong Yu and Jiuling went together. Jiuling was not going as the wife of the head of the junior pavilion tonight; she was going as a dancer. Rong Yu handed her the letter he had written and encouraged her to do what she desired. Reluctantly parting ways, they arrived at the banquet.
Rong Yu played the zither, and Jiuling performed an impressive sword dance. They won the admiration of everyone present. However, since Jiuling wore a mask, everyone assumed she was the princess, and they believed Rong Yu and the princess were a perfect match. Only the princess thought everyone had collectively forgotten that Rong Yu had a legitimate wife.
After the banquet, Jiuling set a fire and used it as a reason to infiltrate the secret chamber. Rong Yu, arriving as quickly as possible, found that Jiuling had set fire to the star map inside the chamber. When she emerged, the fumes had overwhelmed her, causing her to collapse. The senior astrologer wept, realizing that the fate of the nation, and even Jia Lin itself, was no longer under control.
Rong Yu saw Cheng Bi, who was desperate to rush into the secret chamber, knew something was amiss, and ventured inside despite the danger. He indeed found Jiuling unconscious inside. He bravely endured the smoke, carried Jiuling, and brought her outside. Cheng Bi returned to see the star map burnt, and Rong Yu had fainted again, vomiting blood. Distressed, he spit out a mouthful of blood.
Jiuling regained consciousness and learned that Rong Yu had been gravely injured while saving her. She was extremely worried. Cheng Bi, informed of the fire's cause, realized he had brought trouble upon them. He reported to the authorities, leading to Jiuling's arrest. When the Emperor learned of the situation, he was furious.
The Regent came to see Rong Jiong and asked him to divine for the future. However, Rong Jiong had no interest in divination. He looked at Rong Yu on the bed, believing that Rong Yu did not want to wake up. Rong Jiong told the Regent about Jiuling burning down the Astrology Pavilion, and the Regent asked why Jiuling would do such a thing. Rong Jiong replied that Jiuling had probably discovered the truth about the harm his family had suffered, and he had noticed her unusual behavior a few days earlier. He intended to make Jiuling die without a resting place, extinguishing her and her family's name. The Regent commented that Jiuling had no one to rely on at the moment and ordered her execution. In the evening, the Regent's men arrived at the prison. They gagged Jiuling, and after, they took her away from the dungeon. Rong Yu had already awakened and overheard Rong Jiong's conversation with the Regent. After Rong Jiong left, Rong Yu opened his eyes, and through divination, he foresaw that Jiuling would soon be killed by an assassin. In a rush, he had Zhan Ping support him to leave.
