The Inextricable Destiny Episode 24 (Ending) Recap
> The Inextricable Destiny Recap
Jiuling and Rong Yu bid farewell. She told him that she and the Emperor would travel day and night once they reached the official road. However, Rong Yu, as an army astrologer, insisted on joining her, claiming he wasn't one of her soldiers. Jiuling was worried about his safety and felt anxious. Just then, He Shan hurriedly arrived, and that put Jiuling's mind at ease.
Three years passed, and the young Emperor personally led an expedition. After three months of fierce battles, they reclaimed four cities, but both sides suffered heavy losses and agreed to a ceasefire for several months. Jiuling recounted to the Emperor how General Yan had led a small rescue team to save her during the Southlands battle. Inside his tent, the King of the Southlands sat, drinking heavily. He couldn't understand why Jiuling would like a fool like Rong Yu and felt humiliated that he had been defeated by a fool.
Determined to defeat Jia Lin and take Jiuling away, the King of the Southlands asked Jiuling what her plans were after the Southern campaign. The Emperor intended to promote her to a general, and he asked if she had any specific ambitions. Jiuling refused the title of general and expressed her desire to buy a small house in the Southlands and live there freely. The Emperor asked about Rong Yu, knowing Jiuling hadn't forgotten him. Just then, Wang Dequan reported that Rong Yu had been abducted on the street, prompting Jiuling to rush to find him.
At that moment, Rong Yu had been taken away by an elderly woman, who turned out to be Jiuling's master. She intended to bring Rong Yu to Wuhua Mountain. Jiuling recognized the token left behind by the elderly woman and knew that her master had come.
The elderly woman took Rong Yu through the wilderness, but his body couldn't keep up with her pace. Frustrated, she gave him a stamina-boosting pill. Jiuling finally caught up with her master and Rong Yu. The master was angry that Jiuling had chosen a seemingly weak man like Rong Yu as her husband. Learning that Jiuling and Rong Yu had separated, the master intended to lecture Rong Yu, but Jiuling intervened to prevent it. The master didn't want to see Jiuling and her master fight and tried to persuade the King of the Southlands. However, the King remained obstinate and didn't heed the master's advice, so she came to Jiuling for help. The master revealed she had implanted a unique poison into Jiuling's body, rendering her immune to almost all poisons, but this remedy was now lost.
After several days of fierce fighting, the battle for the last city became intense. The Emperor and the master anxiously awaited news. A messenger arrived to report that Jiuling had achieved a great victory, capturing Malanshan. The master was relieved but also felt frustrated with Rong Yu's indifference. Rong Yu started telling the master about his father and his feud with a formidable martial artist. This angered the master, who remembered that a single phrase from the Astrology Pavilion had disrupted her relationship with the late Emperor.
Just then, Jiuling, in high spirits, ran over to the master. Seeing the master once again interfering with Rong Yu, Jiuling offered her apologies and persuaded the master to leave, mentioning that there was a victory celebration. Zhan Ping had already guessed who the formidable martial artist Rong Yu was talking about.
Jiuling got drunk and, upon hearing Rong Yu playing the pipa, stumbled over to him. She noticed the wounds on his hands and wanted to kiss them, but Rong Yu withdrew, as he thought she was acting inappropriately. Jiuling spoke her mind, expressing her affection for Rong Yu and her desire for him to remain by her side. She mentioned how difficult it was for her to set the Astrology Pavilion on fire but that she had no choice. Upon hearing Jiuling's confession, Rong Yu felt immense sympathy and kissed her on the forehead. He used his clothing to cover her. From a distance, the master saw this and felt comforted.
When Jiuling woke up, she found a letter left by the master. She didn't want to witness a fight between her and her master, so she decided to leave first. The next day, the Emperor gathered everyone to discuss the situation. Jiuling noticed that Rong Yu seemed upset. The Emperor urged them to begin the meeting. Rong Yu analyzed the situation, emphasizing that Wutu was the final battle between Jia Lin and the Southlands, a matter of life and death. The King of the Southlands' army reached the city, and he wanted to talk to General He Jiuling. Jiuling firmly stated there was nothing to discuss between them. He tried to persuade her not to persist, but she declared that their sibling bond was severed, leading to a fierce battle. While in the chaotic streets, Zhan Ping saw the wounded Cheng Bi and kindly brought her back. However, Cheng Bi intended to assassinate Rong Yu. Just then, the messenger arrived, and Jiuling received news that Yan Lie had succeeded.
