Zheng Xueer couldn't bear to watch Song Haotian and Mi Lili being so close and intimate. It made her nauseous. When she returned to the villa and saw the messy house with Mi Lili's clothes scattered everywhere, she could easily imagine how shameless Song Haotian and Mi Lili had been. Zheng Xueer found her mother's death certificate and their photo together. She repeatedly reminded herself with her mother's words to be careful, not to act impulsively, and to think twice before taking action.
Lao Jin's death made Zheng Xueer even more suspicious about her mother's death being unnatural. On the day she went to the hospital, her mother was fine in the morning, but in the afternoon, she suddenly passed away due to organ failure. Zheng Xueer sought help from Zhang Chi, hoping he could help her obtain evidence.
When Zhang Chi arrived at the door, Song Haotian and Mi Lili were rolling on the sofa. Zhang Chi angrily berated them as a despicable couple. Song Haotian accused Zhang Chi of intruding into his home and refused to let him go upstairs. Knowing that Zhang Chi loved Zheng Xueer deeply but could only watch her marry him, Song Haotian mocked Zhang Chi, saying that Zheng Xueer was his leftover toy and that she was carrying his child in her belly. If Zhang Chi liked, he could have her. Zhang Chi was furious at Song Haotian's words and called Mi Lili a home-wrecker. He accused Song Haotian of being inhumane and claimed to have evidence against Lao Jin, identifying Song Haotian as the murderer. He threatened to expose Song Haotian at any time but offered him a chance in exchange for money. Knowing that Zhang Chi was trying to deceive him, Song Haotian searched Zhang Chi and destroyed the recorded evidence he had on him.
