The Land of Warriors Recap
Episode 1 Recap
The Douluo Continent is a magical land divided into two major empires: the Xingluo Empire and the Tiandou Empire. Many of the inhabitants here are born with innate Martial Souls. Upon awakening their Martial Soul, they have the opportunity to pursue the most honorable profession on Douluo Continent—Soul Master. Soul Masters hunt Soul Beasts to obtain Soul Rings, which allow them to continuously enhance their strength.
The existence of Soul Masters has given rise to many sects, among which the seven most powerful are known as the Seven Great Sects. The Clear Sky Clan ranks first among them and, together with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan, forms the Upper Three Sects, leading Soul Masters across the continent.
Meanwhile, a special organization known as the Spirit Hall has gradually expanded its influence throughout the continent, becoming powerful enough to rival the two empires. Young Tang San awakens a rare Twin Martial Soul, the Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. To learn and grow, Tang San becomes a disciple of Yu Xiaogang and enrolls in Shrek Academy alongside his classmate, Xiao Wu.
Together with Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing, Oscar, Ning Rongrong, and Ma Hongjun, they form the renowned Shrek Seven Devils. As a team, they participate in the Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Competition. The seven work together, overcoming numerous challenges, and ultimately make it to the finals. Today, they face the Golden Generation of the Spirit Hall, whose strength far surpasses their own. The battle begins between Shrek Academy and Spirit Hall Academy, with each team consisting of seven exceptionally powerful members.
Bi Bi Dong, the supreme leader of Spirit Hall, and Yu Xiaogang, the vice dean of Shrek Academy, are present to observe the match. When Spirit Hall offers an extremely rare Soul Bone as the competition’s prize, Shrek Academy’s dean believes they have nothing to lose. Liu Erlong, Shrek Academy's vice dean, notes that the rarest headpiece Soul Bone seems to be intended for Bi Bi Dong's personal disciple, Hu Liena, indicating Spirit Hall's determination to win the championship.
The match begins with Hu Liena taking the lead. Her Soul Skill, Enchantment, is a form of mental attack. Before the match, Yu Xiaogang had warned the Shrek Seven Devils to be cautious. Tang San pointed out that no matter how powerful Enchantment is, it still requires the six senses to take effect. Thus, when Hu Liena steps into battle, the Shrek team seals off their six senses to avoid being affected.
Xiao Wu counters with her own second Soul Skill, also an Enchantment ability. It becomes a clash of enchantment against enchantment, with victory depending on whose mental strength is greater. However, Yu Xiaogang explains that Xiao Wu’s true intention isn’t to outmatch Hu Liena’s mental strength but to disrupt her initial advantage, allowing the others to quickly enter the fight. Sure enough, Hu Liena, having lost her edge, retreats.
However, she quickly joins Xie Yue to unleash their Martial Soul Fusion Skill, Demonic Charm. The skill creates a mist that suppresses all senses, reduces Soul Power, and slows movement, making it an extremely powerful control ability. Tang San decides to take a risky approach. Using his Purple Demon Eye, he confronts Hu Liena and Xie Yue, the strongest opponents, on his own.
Meanwhile, the others use Oscar’s Flying Sausages to escape the mist and target the remaining Spirit Hall members. Tang San endures against Hu Liena and Xie Yue, whose strength far surpasses his own. He activates his External Soul Bone to fight back but suffers severe injuries, with his Soul Bone shattering under their attacks. Xie Yue remarks on Tang San’s extraordinary talent and urges Hu Liena to finish him off quickly.
Seeing Tang San in danger, Xiao Wu rushes to shield him from Xie Yue’s attack, disregarding her own safety. Tang San, deeply worried, hesitates, but Xiao Wu encourages him, reminding him that the match isn’t over. Summoning his remaining strength, Tang San uses his shattered Soul Bone to launch an attack on the Spirit Hall team. Hu Liena scoffs at his effort, thinking it’s a desperate and futile move. The attack initially appears ineffective, causing only minor injuries.
However, as Hu Liena moves to deliver the final blow, she and her teammates suddenly realize they’ve been poisoned. Tang San had secretly coated his Soul Bone with poison, knowing it was his only chance to defeat Spirit Hall. The Shrek Seven Devils, moved by his sacrifice, resolve to fight to the end to ensure his efforts weren’t in vain. With both sides exhausted and unable to use Soul Power, the battle devolves into hand-to-hand combat.
Despite their injuries, Tang San and his team refuse to give up. Watching the brutal fight, Dugu Bo (the Poison Douluo) reminds Bi Bi Dong that only he can cure the poison from Tang San’s Eight Spider Lances. If they delay any longer, the Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation might lose more members. In the end, Spirit Hall concedes defeat. After the match, Spirit Hall attempts to capture Xiao Wu, as she is revealed to be a Soul Beast in human form.
Tang San declares that Xiao Wu is his family and the one he loves, and he won’t allow anyone to take her. The Shrek team stands with Tang San to block Spirit Hall. However, they are no match for Bi Bi Dong. At this critical moment, Tang San’s father, Tang Hao, appears to confront Spirit Hall, forcing Bi Bi Dong to retreat.
Tang Hao takes Tang San and Xiao Wu away, while the rest of the team is escorted by the Shrek teachers. With the competition over, Shrek Academy has also made an enemy of Spirit Hall. The teachers announce that the students have graduated and are free to pursue their own paths. Ning Fengzhi, the leader of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan, decides to take Ning Rongrong back with him.
Reluctant to part with her, Oscar requests to join the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan. Ning Fengzhi agrees and even extends the invitation to the others. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing return to Xingluo, while Ma Hongjun decides to travel the continent. Before parting, they all agree to reunite at Shrek Academy in five years.
Episode 2 Recap
Xiao Wu wakes up and sees Tang Hao, immediately thanking him for saving her life. Tang Hao warns Xiao Wu that staying by Tang San's side is dangerous right now. She is an immature 100,000-year Soul Beast, a prime target for Soul Masters.
He advises that since neither of them is strong enough at the moment, it would be better for them to meet again when Tang San is capable of protecting her, and when she reaches level 60 and matures. Tang Hao shares with Xiao Wu that Tang San’s mother was also a 100,000-year Soul Beast. Despite his own Soul Power having reached level 80 and Tang San’s mother having fully transformed into human form, their union faced immense challenges.
Xiao Wu agrees with Tang Hao’s reasoning and decides to leave Tang San temporarily to focus on increasing her strength. Fearing that she won’t be able to bring herself to leave if Tang San wakes up, Xiao Wu leaves behind her comb as a keepsake and departs for the Star Dou Forest. When Tang San wakes up and finds Xiao Wu gone, he immediately realizes she left to avoid bringing trouble to him.
He wants to chase after her, but Tang Hao stops him, saying that he is currently too weak to protect her. Tang Hao advises Tang San to focus on improving his strength and promises that when he is capable, he can reunite with Xiao Wu. Tang San, acknowledging his lack of power, resolves to train diligently to find Xiao Wu as soon as possible.
Tang Hao assures him that as his father, he doesn’t oppose their love, but he hopes Tang San gains enough strength to protect the one he loves. Tang San notices that he can still sense Xiao Wu’s presence. It turns out that a strand of Blue Silver Grass, transformed into a bracelet, has stayed with Xiao Wu.
Tang Hao explains that despite its appearance as an ordinary plant, Blue Silver Grass is the most abundant and resilient force on the continent, not to be underestimated. This unique connection allows Tang San and Xiao Wu to sense each other, bringing Xiao Wu great comfort. Meanwhile, Er Ming, a 100,000-year Soul Beast known as the Titan Giant Ape, tracks Xiao Wu through the Blue Silver Grass.
Er Ming complains about her leaving the Star Dou Forest for the human world, saying that they’ve all missed and worried about her. Xiao Wu happily reassures him that she has missed them too. Together, they go to find Da Ming, another 100,000-year Soul Beast, the Azure Bull Python. Da Ming, upset over Xiao Wu leaving the forest, initially refuses to appear. Pretending to be angry, Xiao Wu leaves to provoke him into showing himself.
When Da Ming finally confronts her, he asks if she plans to leave again. Xiao Wu shares that the human world is fascinating, with delicious food and someone very important to her. She recounts her story of meeting Tang San: how Tang San, left alone after his father departed, became her family. The two studied together at Nuoding Academy, and later attended Shrek Academy, a school that specializes in training "monsters.
"Xiao Wu explains how rundown Shrek Academy was and how their entrance exam required all seven of them to fend off Zhao Wuji’s attacks for the duration of one incense stick. Despite working together for the first time, they displayed remarkable teamwork and were all admitted. Forming the Shrek Seven Devils, they faced countless battles together, forged deep bonds, and built a strong reputation.
They eventually participated in the Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Competition, defeating Spirit Hall Academy to claim the championship. However, Spirit Hall discovered Xiao Wu’s identity as the Soft-Boned Rabbit, a 100,000-year Soul Beast, and tried to capture her. In the end, it was Tang San’s father, Tang Hao, who saved them. Da Ming and Er Ming, after hearing Xiao Wu’s story, realize that she has already drawn the attention of humans.
They warn her not to see Tang San again and promise to protect her from harm. Xiao Wu insists that Tang Hao doesn’t oppose her and Tang San’s love, and as long as she reaches maturity, she can reunite with him. She reminds them of her promise to Tang San, saying she cannot break it. Meanwhile, Tang San continues training with Tang Hao. Tang Hao explains that a Soul Beast reaching 100,000 years has two choices.
The first is to endure the Heavenly Tribulation and, if successful, survive to the next 100,000 years and face another tribulation. The second choice is to transform into human form. However, upon transformation, a Soul Beast’s cultivation resets to zero, and they must start all over again. Most Soul Beasts are unwilling to take this path. Transformed Soul Beasts are considered to be in their juvenile phase until they reach level 60.
Before then, even Titled Douluo Soul Masters can detect their true identity and hunt them down. Once they surpass level 60, they can completely conceal their identity and be considered truly human.
Episode 3 Recap
Tang San continued training with his father, Tang Hao. Tang Hao instructed Tang San to go all out and fight him. However, even with his Mysterious Jade Hand, Tang San was unable to block several of Tang Hao's hidden weapons. Realizing the vast power gap between himself and his father, Tang San confidently declared that he wouldn’t remain weak forever. Tang Hao noticed the unique techniques Tang San was using and asked if they were taught by Yu Xiaogang.
In response, Tang San showed his Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, explaining that he had accidentally found the book and discovered it to be a secret treasure of the Tang Sect. The book contained detailed instructions on crafting hidden weapons. Tang Hao acknowledged that the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record had indeed taught Tang San many things. Feeling regretful as a father, he admitted that he had taught Tang San far too little.
Tang Hao reminded Tang San that since he had inherited the teachings of the Tang Sect, he should consider himself a disciple of the Tang Sect and strive to carry forward its legacy. Tang San assured his father that he cherished this opportunity and that once he found rare metals, he would forge all the powerful hidden weapons described in the book.
Eager to improve his strength and reunite with Xiao Wu, Tang San decided to absorb the Spirit Condensing Wisdom Skull, which he had won in a competition. He believed that absorbing the skull would strengthen his body, enabling him to endure more intense training. He asked Tang Hao for assistance in the process.
Tang Hao warned him that absorbing a high-intelligence skull over 50,000 years old would indeed enhance his spiritual power but would also place immense physical and mental strain on him. Given Tang San’s current condition, Tang Hao believed it would be suicidal to attempt absorption. He advised Tang San to rest and recover fully before trying, promising to assist him as a protector when the time came.
Meanwhile, Da Ming and Er Ming grew concerned about Xiao Wu personally collecting Purple Crystal Soft Jade, as she was now just an ordinary human Soul Master. If she were discovered by Spirit Hall, it could place her in grave danger. To protect her, the two decided to handle the collection themselves, leaving Xiao Wu to focus solely on her cultivation. When Xiao Wu learned about their plan, she became furious, insisting that cultivation required her own efforts.
She argued that relying on others would leave her helpless in future battles against enemies. Xiao Wu firmly demanded that they stop interfering with her training. She took the Purple Crystal Soft Jade collected by Er Ming and resumed her cultivation without their involvement. Spirit Hall agents lingered around Shrek Academy, questioning students about Xiao Wu’s whereabouts. The teachers at the academy were deeply worried.
To ensure Ma Hongjun left the academy safely, Liu Erlong intentionally injured him during a demonstration duel. Yu Xiaogang and the headmaster explained to Ma Hongjun that cultivation required various trials and experiences. Understanding their reasoning, Ma Hongjun decided to leave the academy to explore the outside world. After his departure, Liu Erlong revealed that sending the children away was meant to remove distractions, allowing the teachers to confront Spirit Hall directly.
When they arrived to face Spirit Hall, they discovered that the agents had already been defeated by Ma Hongjun. It turned out that he had understood the teachers’ true intentions: they wanted to deceive him into leaving to avoid danger. Wanting to contribute one last time to Shrek Academy, Ma Hongjun had secretly taken action against Spirit Hall. In the end, everyone bid a heartfelt farewell to Ma Hongjun as he left to begin his journey.
Yu Xiaogang received an invitation from Emperor Xue Yue to visit the Heaven Dou Palace. Recently, numerous Soul Masters had gone missing, and the emperor suspected something unusual. He had tasked Crown Prince Xue Qinghe with investigating the matter. The emperor also offered Yu Xiaogang the position of Chief Royal Soul Master, expressing admiration for his ability to train the Shrek Seven Devils, who had earned widespread acclaim.
The crown prince praised the brilliance of each member, especially Tang San, who had left a lasting impression. Impressed by Yu Xiaogang’s educational philosophy, Emperor Xue Yue hoped he could cultivate more talent for Heaven Dou. Yu Xiaogang accepted the invitation. Tang San was eager to absorb the spirit bone, but his impatience concerned Tang Hao. To test Tang San’s resolve, Tang Hao allowed him to attempt it under his supervision.
As Tang San began the absorption process, he fell into a hallucination. In the illusion, Xiao Wu appeared and told him that she missed him so much that she came to find him. She begged him to stay with her, away from the outside world. When Tang San insisted on returning to Shrek Academy, "Xiao Wu" objected, saying they could live together peacefully without involving anyone else.
Recognizing that this was not the real Xiao Wu, Tang San broke through the illusion and successfully absorbed the spirit bone. Tang Hao, pleased with his progress, told Tang San that if he could endure ten of his father’s strikes within five years, he would be allowed to reunite with Xiao Wu. Tang San trained relentlessly and, within three years, managed to withstand ten of Tang Hao’s strikes. Overjoyed, he rushed to find Xiao Wu.
However, upon finding her, Tang San noticed something strange. Xiao Wu insisted she was safe, yet she no longer wore the Blue Silver Grass bracelet that symbolized their connection. When Tang San asked about it, she claimed she had lost it. Realizing something was wrong, Tang San uncovered the truth: he was still trapped in an illusion and had yet to break free.
Episode 4 Recap
Tang San finally broke through the illusion and successfully absorbed the spirit bone. Under Tang Hao's guidance, he realized that he must not rush and needed to confront his inner demons—his attachment to Xiao Wu. Tang Hao explained that if Tang San became too fixated on the outcome, he would lose sight of the path he needed to walk. Cultivation required patience and steady progress. With this new understanding, Tang San resolved to proceed methodically.
After absorbing the spirit bone, he entered the Sea of Consciousness and achieved the rank of Spirit Douluo. Tang Hao reminded him not to rush back into cultivation but to first strengthen his physical endurance. The agents of Spirit Hall returned to report to Bi Bi Dong, but they also delivered a message from Yu Xiaogang, asking her to stop harassing the people of Shrek Academy.
Hearing this, Bi Bi Dong was furious, feeling that Yu Xiaogang was always opposing her. Undeterred, she ordered her subordinates to continue searching for Xiao Wu in the forest. Her ambitions were vast—she aimed to consolidate power, unify all Spirit Masters, and ultimately conquer the continent. To achieve this, she not only hunted spirit beasts for her own cultivation but also captured Spirit Masters, making them disappear.
It was revealed that these missing Spirit Masters were victims of Spirit Hall's schemes. One day, Tang San encountered an injured Scaly Beast. Despite Tang Hao's earlier advice to avoid impatience, Tang San believed this was a rare opportunity. He rushed forward to kill the Scaly Beast, intending to make it his first spirit ring for the Clear Sky Hammer.
However, attempting to add spirit rings to both his martial spirits simultaneously overwhelmed his body, and he fell unconscious, critically injured. Tang Hao arrived just in time to heal him. Meanwhile, in the forest, Xiao Wu sensed Tang San's peril and, disregarding her own safety, channeled spirit power to him through the Blue Silver Grass connection. With their combined efforts, Tang San regained consciousness. Tang Hao was furious.
Although Tang San had let go of his emotional attachment to Xiao Wu, he had not given up his obsession with gaining strength, which led him to recklessly endanger himself. Tang Hao sternly told him that someone so reckless would never be capable of protecting his loved ones. Tang San, deeply ashamed, finally understood that there were no shortcuts to cultivation and resolved to train honestly and diligently.
In the Star Luo Palace, Zhu Zhuqing found it difficult to adjust to life in the royal court. She missed the simplicity of Shrek Academy, where life lacked the luxuries of the palace but was much more straightforward. Dai Mubai explained that he had gone to Shrek Academy to escape the royal family's power struggles, while Zhu Zhuqing had sought refuge there to avoid being controlled by her family.
Now that they had defeated Davis and Zhu Zhuyun, they had gained control over their own destinies and should be happy about it. Zhu Zhuqing revealed that she had made a deal with her father: if she could defeat Zhu Zhuyun, she would be allowed to renounce her noble status and travel the continent. Dai Mubai reassured her that, no matter what challenges lay ahead, he would always stand by her.
However, Emperor Star Luo summoned them and declared that since they had defeated Davis and Zhu Zhuyun and become the new heirs to the throne, they must shoulder the responsibilities that came with it. The emperor emphasized that they could not afford to oppose Spirit Hall over a hundred-thousand-year-old spirit beast. He also hinted that Davis and Zhu Zhuyun needed to be eliminated for the stability of the kingdom.
Oscar and Ning Rongrong returned to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, where they demonstrated the hidden weapons Tang San had crafted. The intricate designs and effectiveness of the weapons amazed the clan's teachers, and they asked Oscar to explain the usage of each weapon in detail. Meanwhile, Ning Rongrong, as the clan's heir, struggled with her training in accounting.
She repeatedly made mistakes, frustrating her father, Ning Fengzhi, who lamented that if she continued this way, she might eventually bankrupt the clan. Rongrong, feeling immense pressure, grew increasingly dejected. Seeing her distress, Oscar comforted her, reminding her that being the heir of a clan was inherently exhausting. It was impossible to please everyone, and she should not place undue pressure on herself. His words reassured her, helping her regain her confidence.
Elsewhere, Bi Bi Dong continued using captured Spirit Masters for her cultivation. Some of the captives accused her of committing atrocities and declared that she would ultimately face the scorn of the world. Bi Bi Dong, unfazed, retorted that once she stood at the pinnacle of power, with the world beneath her feet, no one would dare to despise her. Instead, they would kneel in worship.
Episode 5 Recap
Tang San became extremely anxious when he could no longer sense Xiao Wu’s presence. Tang Hao explained that it was likely Xiao Wu had intentionally severed their connection. Meanwhile, Xiao Wu had lost the Acacia Heartbroken Red flower that Tang San had given her. Da Ming searched for it in the lake but couldn’t find it. At that moment, Er Ming said he had discovered some spiritual grass.
Upon seeing it, Xiao Wu recognized it as her missing Acacia Heartbroken Red. Da Ming told her that with this flower, she wouldn’t need the Purple Crystal Radish for cultivation. However, Xiao Wu decided not to use the flower for cultivation because it was a gift from Tang San, and she wanted to keep it as a memento. Xiao Wu prepared to train in a mixed cultivation area where Purple Crystal Radish could be found.
She asked Er Ming to return her Blue Silver Grass bracelet, expressing that Tang San had likely realized his mistake, and she had forgiven him. Tang San continued training under Tang Hao’s guidance. Watching Tang San’s dedication, Tang Hao was reminded of his younger self and began reminiscing about Tang San’s mother. When Tang San asked what kind of person his mother was, Tang Hao described her as a gentle woman who loved them both deeply.
He explained that Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass martial spirit was inherited from her. As per royal law, there could only be one heir, and the defeated Davis and Zhu Zhuyun were to be executed. Dai Mubai brought two cups of poisoned wine to their cell. Although Zhu Zhuqing was reluctant to go through with it, Zhu Zhuyun reminded her that this was the law, and if the situation were reversed, she and Dai Mubai would face the same fate.
Resolutely, Davis and Zhu Zhuyun drank the poisoned wine. However, knowing Zhu Zhuqing’s unwillingness to harm them, Dai Mubai secretly saved them after ensuring they were out of sight. When Davis and Zhu Zhuyun regained consciousness, they were both surprised and grateful. Dai Mubai instructed them to change their identities, leave the empire, and live peaceful lives. Hu Liena entered the Limbo Realm, feeling an oppressive force suppressing her.
Bi Bi Dong explained that the Limbo Realm’s power was far more formidable than what Hu Liena was currently experiencing. Ever since her defeat at the hands of Tang San in the competition, Hu Liena had been determined to train harder, pushing herself to the brink of death to awaken her potential and surpass Tang San.
Pleased by her disciple’s dedication, Bi Bi Dong handed her a spirit bone to absorb and encouraged her to continue training, emphasizing that she must survive the ordeal. In the forest, Xiao Wu was cultivating when she found a Purple Crystal Radish. Overjoyed, she picked it and prepared to leave, but she soon noticed people from Spirit Hall nearby. They seemed to be searching for her.
Hiding quietly, she overheard them talking about capturing her, a hundred-thousand-year-old Soft Bone Rabbit, to claim a reward from Spirit Hall. Suddenly, one of them caught her scent, and Xiao Wu quickly fled before they could find her. Tang San finally earned Tang Hao’s approval, and Tang Hao lifted the seal on him, allowing him to obtain his fifth spirit ring. Tang San came to understand the care and effort his father had put into his training.
Initially, Tang San assumed Tang Hao had chosen a spirit beast for him to hunt, but Tang Hao explained that sometimes adding a spirit ring didn’t require killing a spirit beast. He instructed Tang San to release his Blue Silver Grass martial spirit and sense its essence carefully. As Tang San entered his spiritual sea, he heard a voice calling to him. The voice explained that Tang San’s martial spirit wasn’t merely Blue Silver Grass but the Blue Silver Emperor.
Tang San doubted this, as his Blue Silver Grass martial spirit had always seemed fragile and weak. The voice revealed that it was the oldest living Blue Silver Grass and that all Blue Silver Grass were Tang San’s kin. It offered to help awaken Tang San’s Blue Silver Emperor martial spirit. In this process, Tang San saw a vision of his mother and realized that his Blue Silver Grass martial spirit was inherited from her. Both he and his mother possessed the Blue Silver Emperor’s bloodline. At last, Tang San awakened his Blue Silver Emperor martial spirit.
Episode 6 Recap
Xiao Wu sensed that Tang San had awakened the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, and she was genuinely happy for him. However, Da Ming and Er Ming still opposed her being with Tang San. They believed the human world was too dangerous, especially since Spirit Hall was actively searching for her. Xiao Wu expressed her determination, saying that Bi Bi Dong had killed her mother, and she would not let her go unpunished.
Da Ming warned her not to dwell on revenge, explaining that Bi Bi Dong had gained immense power through the hundred-thousand-year spirit ring from Xiao Wu's mother, making her strength far beyond ordinary. He also reminded her that living with hatred was exhausting. Xiao Wu replied that she intended to live her life to the fullest, not just for herself but also for her mother.
She promised not to seek revenge hastily, but she believed that one day, when her strength grew, she would never forgive Spirit Hall. Moreover, she wanted to contribute something meaningful to the future of spirit beasts and vowed not to retreat in the face of Spirit Hall. The Blue Silver Emperor martial spirit was a legacy from Tang San’s mother, and his fifth spirit ring could evolve according to his body’s changes.
After truly awakening his martial spirit, Tang San told his father that he had seen his mother while absorbing the spirit ring. Tang Hao was deeply emotional and asked where he had seen her. Tang San explained that it was in his spiritual sea, where his mother had also apologized to him. Tang Hao, however, tearfully admitted that it was he who should be sorry, as he had failed to protect her.
When Tang San saw his father coughing up blood in agitation, he became extremely worried and checked Tang Hao’s injuries. He discovered that Tang Hao’s internal organs had shifted from past injuries, and if he were to engage in combat again, it could trigger a fatal relapse. Tang San told Tang Hao that his Tang Sect techniques could heal him, urging him not to fight anyone.
However, Tang Hao insisted that he had many unfinished matters and couldn’t be held back. Left with no other choice, Tang San threatened to take his own life unless Tang Hao agreed to let him treat him when Tang San reached his father’s level of strength. Reluctantly, Tang Hao agreed. Tang Hao then brought Tang San to a mysterious place, saying he could gain great power there.
To pass through the capital of the Netherworld, one had to first drink the Spring of Yellow Springs Dew. Tang San refused, as drinking it was mandatory, but the Netherworld capital respected only the strong. Anyone strong enough could break the rules. Tang Hao encouraged Tang San to train there and instructed him to survive and come back to see him before leaving.
In the Netherworld capital, spirit power was sealed, and Tang San, having trained under Tang Hao’s seal, easily defeated the Nether Guards who blocked his way, earning the Life-and-Death Token and gaining entry to the capital. Meanwhile, Hu Liena was also training in the Netherworld capital and noticed Tang San’s presence. Tang San inquired about the rules of the Netherworld capital. A guide explained that once inside, leaving was not easy. The law enforcement team constantly monitored everyone.
To leave, one had to win a hundred consecutive victories in the Hell Infernal Arena and then successfully pass the Hell Path trial to earn the title of God of Slaughter, which granted free access. However, over the past thousand years, only eight people had achieved this. The Netherworld King ruled this place, and while spirit techniques were unusable within the city, one could rely on spirit power and instincts to survive.
There was no currency; all food was free, but its safety was not guaranteed. As long as one was capable, they could do whatever they wanted. The guide took Tang San to the Hell Infernal Arena, where battles were held in groups of ten, with only one winner. The victor could absorb the spirit power and possessions of the other nine.
Tang San noticed that much of the absorbed spirit power was being funneled to the arena itself, leading him to suspect that the Hell Path might be located beneath it. When Hu Liena saw someone about to attack Tang San, she intervened and killed the attacker, warning Tang San, the "newcomer," to be cautious. She assumed this masked individual wasn’t Tang San, as his skills seemed far superior to what she remembered of him.
She speculated that he might be a disciple of the Clear Sky Sect undergoing a trial. The guide cautioned Tang San to avoid Hu Liena, as her ruthless methods had already earned her sixteen consecutive victories in the Hell Infernal Arena, ranking her among the top one hundred. Oscar and Ning Rongrong went out shopping but were harassed by a couple of street thugs.
The thugs mocked Oscar for being just a support-type spirit master and beat him until he couldn’t stand. At that moment, Wang Zheng appeared and saved the two. After thanking him, they left. Unbeknownst to them, the thugs had been deliberately arranged by Wang Zheng.
Episode 7 Recap
Tang San participated in the battles at the Hell Infernal Arena. When he hesitated to kill the remaining nine opponents, the guide reminded him that he could only claim victory when the others were all dead. With no other choice, Tang San killed his opponents. The spectators around him murmured in agreement, saying that he should have done so earlier.
Looking at the blood on his hands, Tang San struggled to accept what he had done, feeling deeply conflicted and tormented. Xiao Wu, sensing his inner turmoil through their connection, comforted him by singing through the Blue Silver Grass. Gradually, Tang San's agitated emotions calmed down. Yu Xiaogang pointed out that the missing spirit masters were usually captured at night and suggested to the emperor to enforce a curfew.
He also advised that groups of five or more should travel together, and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan should assist in securing the other clans. Yu Tianheng dined with Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong, mentioning that their grandfather missed Yu Xiaogang and hoped he could visit with Erlong.
Yu Xiaogang replied that while he knew their grandfather missed him, as the shame of the clan, he believed his grandfather did not truly wish for him to return. Tianheng didn’t understand why Yu Xiaogang had been expelled from the clan just because his martial spirit mutated into Luo San Pao during its upgrade, something that wasn’t his fault. Yu Xiaogang avoided answering and instead told Tianheng that he no longer had a home.
Tianheng then offered Yu Xiaogang some mugwort cakes from their clan, sent by their grandfather. The gesture touched Yu Xiaogang, who deeply missed his clan but felt it wasn’t the right time to return. He hoped to one day make his father proud and vowed to return to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan only when Tang San and his companions stood at the peak of the spirit master world, proving the worth of his theories.
The Star Luo Emperor confronted Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, telling them that mercy toward their enemies was cruelty toward themselves. He had discovered that the two had secretly let Davis and Zhu Zhuyun go, violating the ancestral rules. As punishment, the emperor decreed that the two pairs would battle, with the victors becoming the crown prince and princess.
Davis and Zhu Zhuyun mocked them, revealing that their actions had been under their father’s watchful eyes all along, leading to their capture. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, however, still could not bring themselves to harm Davis and Zhu Zhuyun. Instead, the four reached a consensus not to kill each other. Zhu Zhuqing asked the emperor to spare Davis and Zhu Zhuyun if she could reach level 60 by the age of 25.
The Star Luo Emperor doubted the possibility, but Davis promised to accompany Zhu Zhuqing in her efforts. Wang Zheng visited the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. The clan leader invited Ning Rongrong and Oscar to meet the guest. Oscar felt deeply frustrated for failing to protect Ning Rongrong earlier, admitting that if not for Wang Zheng, they would have been bullied. Ning Rongrong, however, found the situation suspicious, noting that Wang Zheng's appearance had been too timely, as if orchestrated.
Wang Zheng feigned humility, claiming it was a coincidence that he encountered Rongrong and joking about their "fate. " Ning Rongrong politely exchanged a few words before excusing herself, saying she felt unwell. The clan leader later spoke with Ning Rongrong, acknowledging that Wang Zheng had likely set up the incident. While his methods were clumsy, it highlighted a potential issue for Ning Rongrong and Oscar in the future.
As a support-type spirit master, Oscar’s combat ability was weak, making it hard for him to protect Rongrong. The clan leader reminded Ning Rongrong that she was the next clan leader of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, and historically, all clan leaders’ spouses had been battle spirit masters. Oscar, he concluded, was unlikely to become the clan's son-in-law. Oscar overheard this conversation while looking for Ning Rongrong.
Disheartened, he left, realizing that unless he became stronger, he might lose the chance to stay by Rongrong's side. Tang San continued to progress through the Hell Infernal Arena, earning the nickname "King of Shura. " He was on the verge of completing his hundred victories, but his injuries during matches made others attempt to kill him while he was vulnerable.
Tang San defeated all his attackers, but while recovering, he was poisoned by the toxic air of the Netherworld capital. He took some pills but was unsure if they could neutralize the poison. Sensing Tang San's distress, Xiao Wu used the Blue Silver Grass bracelet to heal him. Seeing him recover, she finally felt at ease and began absorbing her spirit ring. Meanwhile, Bi Bi Dong increased the number of people searching for Xiao Wu in the forest. Xiao Wu had reached level 50 and needed to focus on her cultivation.
Episode 8 Recap
Oscar told Ning Rongrong that he planned to leave the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. He wanted to test himself in the extreme cold regions and become as capable as a battle spirit master so that he could truly protect Rongrong. Knowing his mind was made up, Rongrong didn’t try to stop him. She offered to go with him, but Oscar refused, reminding her that she had her own responsibilities.
Oscar promised that once he became stronger, he would return for her. Rongrong gave him hidden weapons for protection and urged him to stay safe and come back as soon as possible. In the Netherworld Capital, Tang San heard cries for help and rushed to rescue a young boy. However, under the influence of the malevolent aura, the boy stabbed Tang San with a knife.
Tang San, already injured and affected by the aura himself, nearly lost control and tried to kill the boy. Xiao Wu’s voice snapped him back to reason. Hu Liena arrived and attempted to kill the boy, saying that in a place like this, the weak didn’t deserve to live. Tang San stopped her, arguing that even the weak have their own ways of survival.
He stated that it wasn’t the boy’s fault for being born in the Netherworld Capital and vowed to create opportunities for people like him to have a choice someday. Hu Liena, having been raised under Bi Bi Dong's belief that the weak should perish, was deeply influenced by the malevolent aura. Tang San’s words awakened her from this mindset.
Watching him leave with the boy, Hu Liena reflected on how not everyone was fortunate enough to have the power to choose their fate. In the forest, a little fox noticed a large number of people searching for Xiao Wu. It carried a dropped portrait of Xiao Wu into the forest's core to warn her. While defending its tribe from human invaders, the little fox was severely injured.
When Xiao Wu saw this, she halted her spirit ring absorption and used her spirit power to save the fox despite the toll it took on her body. The interruption caused serious inner damage, and the process of converting the spirit ring became chaotic and agonizing. Tang San, sensing her pain, used the Blue Silver Grass to transfer his spirit power to her to ease her suffering.
Yu Xiaogang learned that Bi Bi Dong was searching for Xiao Wu in the forest, disrupting the spirit beasts and risking the outbreak of a beast tide. He went to the Martial Hall to warn Bi Bi Dong that continuing a large-scale search would only lead to disastrous consequences. Bi Bi Dong, reminiscing about her past with Yu Xiaogang, felt conflicted. She recalled their former relationship, how kind and caring he used to be toward her.
Saddened by the state of their current relationship, she instructed her subordinates to switch to discreet operations to avoid alarming the elders. Hu Liena approached Tang San to ask why the Tang Clan, which had been in seclusion for years, was suddenly interested in the God of Slaughter Domain.
Tang San was puzzled by her question, so she explained that defeating the Hell Road not only granted freedom to enter and leave the Netherworld Capital but also bestowed the God of Slaughter Domain, a powerful domain-type skill. Such abilities are rare and grow stronger as the user’s malevolent aura increases. Tang San realized this was his father Tang Hao’s true intention for sending him to this place. When Hu Liena proposed working together, Tang San refused.
Bi Bi Dong sent people to Gengxin City, ordering the blacksmith association there to pledge allegiance to the Martial Hall to ensure a supply of weapons and armor. Miles, the envoy, initially attempted to bribe the association, but when they remained unmoved, he prepared to use force. However, his plans were interrupted by the leader of the Power Clan, Titan, who had already achieved the rank of Title Douluo.
The Martial Hall's envoys had no choice but to leave in disgrace, stating they would report the matter to their superiors. Titan watched them leave but seemed preoccupied. When asked, he revealed that he had sensed his master’s presence. Shortly after, a strong wind blew through the area, and all the money Miles had brought in his chest mysteriously vanished.
Episode 9 Recap
Tang San was about to participate in the Hundred Battles Challenge when Hu Liena approached him with a proposal for cooperation. She explained the secrets of the Malevolent Aura Domain to him. In return, Tang San shared a secret with her: the air in the Netherworld Capital contained a slow-acting poison that made people irritable and restless.
Prolonged consumption of Yellow Springs Dew was akin to drinking poison, as the poison hidden in the blood was likely tied to the Hell Road, using spirit power to tempt people into continued consumption. Tang San gave Hu Liena a pill to suppress the poison, and without hesitation, she swallowed it, expressing her trust in him. However, she noted that Tang San always wore a mask and hadn’t revealed his real name.
Tang San replied that while expressions could be faked, a mask was more reliable, making his current appearance even more trustworthy. He then introduced himself as Tang Yin. For Tang San’s Hundred Battles Challenge, the King of the Netherworld arranged for an Illusion Soul Douluo to fight him. Soul Douluos are capable of using spirit skills.
At the start, Tang San was momentarily caught in an illusion, mistaking it for Xiao Wu calling out to him, and he was struck by an attack. However, he eventually broke free from the illusion, defeated the opponents, and won the match. This victory granted him the opportunity to challenge the Hell Road. Tang San informed the King of the Netherworld that he wouldn’t face the challenge alone—Hu Liena, the Hell Emissary, would join him.
The King of the Netherworld, fearing that their challenge to the Hell Road might disrupt the Netherworld Capital and weaken his spirit power, offered them an exception. He proposed granting Tang San and Hu Liena the title of God of Slaughter, which would allow them to freely enter and exit the Netherworld Capital, second only to his own authority. However, both of them declined the offer.
The King warned that working together on the Hell Road might increase their danger, and once they entered, their lives could no longer be guaranteed. Even so, Tang San and Hu Liena decided to proceed with the challenge. The King reminded them that their identities destined them to be enemies, to which Hu Liena replied, “There are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests. ”As the two prepared to face the Hell Road, the King of the Netherworld opened its gates.
Contrary to its appearance as a refuge for the fallen, the Hell Road had been draining the spirit power of its inhabitants all along. Tang San believed such a place should not exist. Working together, they managed to pass the first trial, defeating a three-headed bat. Hu Liena, surprised by Tang San’s innate domain ability, asked about it. Tang San then realized that the domain had appeared naturally after his second martial spirit awakening.
In the second trial, they encountered the legendary Primordial Beast, the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake. This snake was not only highly venomous but also possessed an inner core. To defeat it, they needed not just power but also unwavering conviction and willpower. The pair successfully cut off six of its heads, but the snake chose to self-destruct. Tang San used the Clear Sky Hammer to prevent the explosion.
Just as they thought they had cleared the trial, Tang San sensed something was wrong. Both of them were plunged into chaos, reliving painful memories from their pasts and turning on each other. Tang San, on the verge of succumbing to the influence, was about to attack Hu Liena. However, he remembered Yu Xiaogang’s teachings: the Blue Silver Grass was not a useless martial spirit, and harboring constant suspicion and hostility would lead to a life of loneliness.
Yu Xiaogang had also told him never to submit to his own dark thoughts. With this in mind, Tang San tried to wake Hu Liena from her torment. Hu Liena, recalling her companion’s teachings—that one must be ruthless against enemies but open-hearted with friends—admitted she could no longer hold on. She entrusted her life to Tang San, hoping he would bring her out alive. If they survived, she would owe him her life.
Seeing that she had lost control, Tang San knocked her unconscious. Tang San finally broke free from his inner darkness, realizing that this trial was the third challenge. Having cleared it, he obtained the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake’s inner core. Meanwhile, the King of the Netherworld was affected by Tang San’s actions—his hair turned completely white in an instant. The King realized he had underestimated Tang San.
Tang San, remembering his vow to give the children of the Netherworld Capital a better future, destroyed the Netherworld Capital. With Hu Liena by his side, he left the Hell Road, bringing an end to the cruel cycle.
Episode 10 Recap
Niu Junhong approached the Three Vagabond Swordsmen to sign up for a "Love Training Camp. " He was informed by others that it was actually a scam and had connections to the Spirit Hall. Among them, the worst offender was a man named Bu Le. Niu Junhong found him, paid the enrollment fee, and introduced himself as a spirit master.
He claimed he joined the camp purely to find love, explaining that he wore a mask because of a contagious rash on his face. While there, he indeed spotted Bu Le, whom he had encountered before when he was out with Xiao Wu. At that time, Bu Le had tried to take advantage of Xiao Wu but was subdued by her instead. Seeing Bu Le here, Niu Junhong grew suspicious that there was more going on behind the scenes.
Tang San and Hu Liena both obtained the Malevolent God Domain. Tang San told Hu Liena that she could seize the chance to kill him, but Hu Liena replied that since she had entrusted her life to him once, and he had done the same for her, they were now even. Hu Liena lamented that while she was from Spirit Hall, Tang San came from the Clear Sky Clan.
Tang San warned Hu Liena that if Spirit Hall continued its evil deeds, he would show no mercy if they crossed paths again. Yan and Xie Yue searched for traces of the 100,000-year-old Soft-Boned Rabbit in the Star Dou Forest. However, their large-scale movements alarmed other spirit beasts, triggering a beast tide that caused Spirit Hall significant losses. Meanwhile, Xiao Wu was in the process of converting her spirit ring.
Er Ming heard the commotion and wanted to investigate, but Da Ming reminded him that protecting Xiao Wu during this critical moment was more important. During the process, Xiao Wu fell into a loop of painful memories of her mother being captured by Spirit Hall, reliving the agony of loss repeatedly. Tang San sensed her distress and used his Blue Silver Grass to transfer his spirit power to help her overcome the ordeal.
Ma Junhong noticed that Xiao Jia, a student at the Love Training Camp, had gone missing. When he asked his classmates, he learned that many students, especially spirit masters, had been disappearing lately. Bu Le told Ma Junhong that he would help him "transform" into the next Xiao Jia and invited him to observe his "charm" in action. Ma Junhong saw Bu Le pretending to be the second prince to deceive a young woman for money.
Just as Ma Junhong was about to expose him, a masked young woman stepped forward and revealed Bu Le’s lies. She pointed out that Bu Le’s plain hemp clothing and worn-out shoes were clear signs that he couldn’t possibly be royalty—what kind of prince wouldn’t even own decent clothes? However, the deceived young woman believed Bu Le’s excuse, thinking he was a compassionate prince who empathized with the common people.
Ma Junhong showed her the evidence of Bu Le’s fraud, and upon realizing the truth, the woman slapped Bu Le and left. The masked woman also departed. Ma Junhong captured the Three Vagabond Swordsmen and paraded them through the streets, forcing them to confess to being shameless scammers. He interrogated Bu Le about the missing spirit masters, but Bu Le claimed he didn’t know anything and was merely borrowing Spirit Hall’s name to commit fraud.
Hu Liena reported to Bi Bi Dong that another person had obtained the Malevolent God Domain. Bi Bi Dong instructed her to investigate the individual’s intentions, and if they posed a threat to Spirit Hall, to eliminate them. Bi Bi Dong initially wanted to assign this task to Yan, but Hu Liena volunteered, explaining that since she had interacted with Tang Yin in the Netherworld Capital, she would recognize him more easily.
Bi Bi Dong agreed and ordered Hu Liena to find Tang Yin and, if possible, kill him. Yan, noticing Hu Liena’s admiration for Tang Yin, warned her that Tang Yin was from the Clear Sky Clan, making them destined enemies. Tang Hao took Tang San to Yue Xuan in Star Dou City, instructing him to study there in the future. When Tang San asked what he would learn, Tang Hao replied, "Self-cultivation.
" As they arrived at Yue Xuan, they witnessed Spirit Hall recruiters nearby trying to lure talent. When the recruiters were rejected by a Yue Xuan maid, they began harassing her. Tang Hao stepped in to help, but the Spirit Hall members insulted him and prepared to fight. Tang San had no choice but to intervene, defeating them. Hearing the commotion, Yue Xuan’s owner invited them inside.
It turned out that Yue Xuan’s master, Tang Yuehua, was Tang San’s paternal aunt. Tang Hao explained that Tang San had just returned from the Netherworld Capital and needed her guidance. He entrusted Tang San’s future studies to her. Tang Yuehua asked Tang San to change into Yue Xuan’s attire and follow her.
Episode 11 Recap
Tang Yuehua prepared some snacks for Tang Hao, mentioning that their father used to enjoy these as well. Tang Hao inquired about their eldest brother, and Tang Yuehua said that while their brother didn’t say much, he was clearly worried about him. She expressed her wish to accompany Tang Hao back to the Clear Sky Clan to see things for herself. However, Tang Hao felt unworthy of returning to the clan, saying he had no face to face them.
He told his sister that Tang San was the explanation he would give to the clan. Tang San was the only child of him and Ah Yin. After entrusting Tang San to Tang Yuehua, Tang Hao departed, instructing Tang San to return to the valley to find him once his studies were complete. Tang Yuehua’s first lesson for Tang San was to clean a zither.
Yue Xuan was a Royal Etiquette Academy, and one of its rules required hands to be cleansed of all water, oil, or dirt before touching a zither, ensuring a calm and peaceful mindset. Every zither in Yue Xuan was an ancient instrument imbued with spirituality. Without a focused mind, the strings would become restless, making it impossible to clean the instrument properly. Tang San was puzzled, wondering what kind of cultivation could come from cleaning a zither.
His aunt explained that it was a way to cultivate one’s state of mind. She told Tang San that having great strength alone wasn’t enough. His father, for instance, was incredibly powerful but emotionally scarred, leading him to stagnate and avoid confronting reality. Tang San was curious about why his Malevolent God Domain was easily dissolved by his aunt, despite him not sensing any spirit power from her. Tang Yuehua revealed that this was her innate domain, the Noble Ring.
Although her spirit power was only at level nine, she could control her domain with precision, even surpassing Tang Hao in this aspect. She explained to Tang San that a person must learn to control their emotions and breathing. Tang San realized that his training in music and etiquette at Yue Xuan was to help him master control over his domain.
Yue Xuan’s true teachings focused on mastering emotions and achieving precise control to fully unlock the potential of domain skills. Xue Beng, the fourth prince of the Heaven Dou Empire, was studying at Yue Xuan when he was disturbed by Tang San’s zither playing. He called out for Tang San to stop and demanded to know why he was wearing a mask. Tang San, in response, unleashed his Malevolent God Domain, terrifying the fourth prince.
Tang Yuehua quickly stepped in, dissolving Tang San’s domain. Meanwhile, Hu Liena, who had been tasked with tracking Tang Yin, received reports of a masked individual at Yue Xuan. She arrived at Yue Xuan to investigate and immediately sensed Tang Yin’s Malevolent God Domain. As she tried to enter, she was stopped by Tang Yuehua and the fourth prince. However, her domain was also suppressed and dissolved by Tang Yuehua, leaving her impressed by Yue Xuan’s master.
Hu Liena explained that she was under orders from Her Majesty to find Tang Yin of the Clear Sky Clan and insisted on conducting a personal search. The crown prince of the Heaven Dou Empire also arrived and tried to block her, pointing out that the feud between Spirit Hall and the Clear Sky Clan was longstanding, and Heaven Dou should avoid getting involved. Hu Liena, undeterred, forced her way in.
Tang Yuehua asked Tang San not to interfere and handled the situation herself. She activated her domain skill to fight Hu Liena but was eventually overpowered and injured on the neck. Despite her efforts, Hu Liena couldn’t find Tang Yin and had to leave frustrated. The crown prince and the fourth prince returned to the palace and reported to the emperor that Spirit Hall had disregarded royal authority at Yue Xuan.
The fourth prince requested his father to deal with Spirit Hall, but both the emperor and the crown prince stopped him. The crown prince explained that Spirit Hall was searching for a disciple of the Clear Sky Clan. Upon hearing this, the emperor remarked that if this disciple, who had obtained the Malevolent God Domain, could be recruited by the Heaven Dou royal family, it would be a great advantage. He asked Yu Xiaogang if this disciple could be Tang San.
Yu Xiaogang replied that he hadn’t heard from Tang San in a long time, and since the Clear Sky Clan had many outstanding disciples, he couldn’t be sure. Yu Xiaogang then visited Yue Xuan to see Tang Yuehua, directly stating that he was there to meet Tang San. He showed her the token their father had once given to Tang Hao, which reassured Tang Yuehua. Realizing she had been overthinking, she took Yu Xiaogang to meet Tang San, who was diligently practicing music.
Episode 12 Recap
Tang San asked Yu Xiaogang how he knew he was here. Yu Xiaogang explained that he had overheard the Crown Prince mention a disciple of the Clear Sky Clan who had acquired the Malevolent God Domain and instinctively felt it was Tang San. He then inquired about Xiao Wu's whereabouts. Tang San replied that Xiao Wu had returned to the Star Dou Forest, and until he met his father’s expectations, he couldn’t go looking for her.
He expressed his anger, blaming Spirit Hall for separating them. Tang San’s emotional outburst made Yu Xiaogang sigh, remarking that while Tang San had grown stronger in the City of Hell, he had also been affected by its aura. Not only was he influenced by the killing intent, but he was also burdened by too many concerns, leading to impatience. That was why Tang San had been sent here to refine his temperament.
Tang San admitted that he was anxious because Xiao Wu was in the process of converting her soul ring, and he felt helpless, which was why he wanted to find her as soon as possible. Yu Xiaogang advised Tang San to use Blue Silver Grass to support Xiao Wu in achieving co-cultivation. However, his priority was to stabilize his emotions and achieve inner peace to avoid negatively impacting Xiao Wu.
Tang San assured him that he now understood the importance of cultivating his state of mind and would not rush the process, putting Yu Xiaogang at ease. The Crown Prince suspected that the Clear Sky Clan member Spirit Hall was searching for was in Yue Xuan. He decided to use his upcoming birthday banquet to invite Yue Xuan and the mysterious masked individual to attend.
He planned to test this person, as those who acquired the Malevolent God Domain were rumored to be easily angered and battle-hungry. If it turned out to be the Clear Sky Clan disciple, he hoped to recruit him into the Heaven Dou Imperial Court. When Tang Yuehua and Tang San received the invitation, they realized it was a test for Tang San.
Tang Yuehua told Tang San that if he could pass this test, it would prove he was ready to meet his father. At the banquet, the Crown Prince invited Tang San to play a piece on the zither. However, the Fourth Prince interjected, stating that he had heard Tang San play before at Yue Xuan and thought his skills were poor.
He even mocked Tang Yuehua, calling her a mere lady-in-waiting recruited by his father, doubting she could teach anything worthwhile. Tang San calmly responded that since the Crown Prince had invited him, he couldn’t refuse. The Crown Prince ordered the Fourth Prince to be taken away. The Crown Prince then used a spirit master proficient in musical combat to launch a soundwave attack at Tang San through their performance. However, Tang San didn’t retaliate directly.
Instead, he adapted the melody and incorporated their attack into his variation, neutralizing the assault. After the performance, the Crown Prince praised him and invited Tang San to stay and serve the Heaven Dou Imperial Court. Tang San declined, stating that he valued his freedom and was only at Yue Xuan temporarily, as he would soon be leaving.
Tang San bid farewell to his aunt, commenting that the Fourth Prince didn’t seem to be making things difficult for him but rather appeared to intentionally help him by deflecting the Crown Prince’s probing. Tang Yuehua assured him that she would continue to keep an eye on the Fourth Prince. Tang San told her that he had someone he deeply cared for and needed to meet his father’s expectations quickly so he could reunite with her.
With reluctance, Tang Yuehua saw Tang San off, promising to wait for him at the clan. Ning Fengzhi noticed that his daughter, Ning Rongrong, had been unhappy ever since Oscar left. To cheer her up, he personally cooked tomato and egg noodles for her. He admitted that he regretted being too strict and following the clan’s rules. It was clear to him that Rongrong truly liked Oscar. Ning Fengzhi offered to send someone to bring Oscar back immediately.
However, Ning Rongrong refused, explaining that leaving the clan had been Oscar’s choice, and he wouldn’t return unless he achieved his goals. She added that they had grown together, and she had discovered her own strengths, such as practicing evasion techniques. As long as they were alive, there would always be hope. Meanwhile, Oscar was training with a team but encountered trouble. Some team members coveted his weapon and tried to steal it while he was asleep.
When Oscar caught them, he decided to leave the group. Unwilling to let him go, they pursued Oscar deep into the mountains. Suddenly, a ferocious beast appeared, scaring the group into fleeing. One of the injured members, hurt by Oscar’s weapon, desperately begged Oscar to help him escape. In the end, Oscar softened his heart and helped the injured person leave the danger zone.
Episode 13 Recap
Tang San went to the valley to find Tang Hao, only to discover that his father had broken both his arms and legs. Furious, he demanded to know who had hurt him so badly. Tang Hao calmly explained that he had done it to himself. After leaving Yue Xuan, he had shattered the limbs that had fused with his spirit bones. While this came at a significant cost, it was his choice.
His current spirit power level had dropped to 75. As for why he did it, Tang Hao said it was time for Tang San to learn the truth about what had happened in the past. Tang Hao revealed that he had once been chosen by his father to lead the Clear Sky Clan to greatness. While training outside with his older brother, they encountered Tang San's mother, Ah Yin, being pursued by a group of men.
The two of them stepped in to protect her and discovered that Ah Yin had stolen disaster relief gold coins from those men and returned them to the victims. Tang Hao invited Ah Yin to train with them, and during this time, the two fell in love, earning a reputation together. Tang Hao’s older brother later left to handle matters at the clan.
Ah Yin eventually confessed to Tang Hao that she was a 100,000-year-old Blue Silver Emperor spirit beast approaching maturity. At the time, Tang Hao was already a Spirit Douluo. The two got married and planned to return to the Clear Sky Clan. However, on their way, they were intercepted by people from Spirit Hall, who demanded that Tang Hao hand over Ah Yin.
Tang Hao and Ah Yin joined forces to defeat a Title Douluo from Spirit Hall, but this confrontation made it impossible for them to return to the clan. Tang Hao realized Spirit Hall would surely target the Clear Sky Clan in retaliation, and his father, already gravely ill, passed away from anger and grief. With Ah Yin pregnant, they decided to stay in hiding until their child was born and plan their next steps.
Ah Yin gave birth to their child and named him Tang San. However, Qian Xunji, one of Spirit Hall's supreme elders, found them and demanded that Tang Hao hand over Ah Yin. Tang Hao vowed to protect his wife at all costs but was outnumbered and severely injured. Ah Yin stepped forward and revealed her true identity as the Blue Silver Emperor, a 100,000-year-old spirit beast with the Blue Silver Domain.
She explained that as the Blue Silver Emperor, her spirit was eternal and could not be killed unless she willingly gave her life. She told Qian Xunji that it was impossible for him to extract her spirit ring and spirit bone unless she chose to offer them willingly. She then struck a deal: if Qian Xunji let Tang Hao and their child go, she would sacrifice herself and give him her spirit ring and spirit bone. Qian Xunji agreed.
However, Ah Yin chose to sacrifice herself in a different way—offering herself as Tang Hao's ninth spirit ring. She told Tang Hao that she was happy to have loved him in this life and asked him not to grieve, promising to always be with him. Her body then dissolved and fused with Tang Hao. Overcome with grief, Tang Hao watched helplessly as Ah Yin disappeared. Enraged, he defeated Qian Xunji.
Not long after, Qian Xunji died of an illness, but Spirit Hall blamed the Clear Sky Clan for his death. Tang Hao's older brother decided, for the sake of the clan, to expel Tang Hao and announce the clan's withdrawal from the world. Tang Hao explained that he had broken his own limbs to give Ah Yin a chance to reshape her form.
He gave Tang San the spirit bone Ah Yin had left behind and told him to absorb it. After fusing with the spirit bone, Tang San’s power grew significantly, bringing Tang Hao great joy. However, Tang San felt deep sorrow seeing his father’s broken arms and legs. Tang Hao reassured him, saying that he wouldn’t die. His previous ailments had already been life-threatening, but breaking his own limbs had forced those lingering illnesses into his severed limbs.
For now, his life was no longer in immediate danger, and he could live a few more years. He expressed his hope to see Tang San lead the Clear Sky Clan to glory once more. Tang San vowed not only to restore the clan’s former glory but also to avenge his parents. Tang Hao, however, cautioned him. He explained that his purpose in sharing the past was not to encourage revenge.
He warned Tang San that when powerful individuals pursue their goals recklessly, they can bring tremendous disaster to the world—just as he and Qian Xunji had done. Tang San insisted that Tang Hao had done nothing wrong and placed the blame solely on Qian Xunji and Spirit Hall. Tang Hao replied that Tang San had yet to understand what he truly meant but would one day grasp the true meaning of being a strong individual.
Episode 14 Recap
While Qian Xunji was recovering from injuries inflicted by Tang Hao, Bi Bi Dong took the opportunity to kill him and absorb his spirit power. She discovered that absorbing a Spirit Master's spirit power could enhance her own strength. This revelation became the final "lesson" Qian Xunji, as her teacher, inadvertently taught her.
Using Qian Xunji's death as justification, Bi Bi Dong expelled the Clear Sky Clan and unlocked the Rakshasa Secret Realm, ultimately leading Spirit Hall to new heights of power. Tang Hao gave Tang San two of the spirit bones that the Clear Sky Clan had once bestowed upon him and asked Tang San to return to the clan. He wanted Tang San to greet his older brother on his behalf and to pay respects to their father at his memorial.
When Tang San asked why Tang Hao wouldn’t return himself, Tang Hao explained that he had wronged the clan. He said his remaining years would be spent by his wife Ah Yin's side, protecting her as she gradually reformed her physical body. Tang San then told Tang Hao about a place called the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, one of the three great treasure troves in the world, where plants could grow a thousand times faster than usual.
Tang Hao was thrilled upon hearing this. Tang San and Tang Hao brought Ah Yin to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Tang San personally planted Ah Yin there and watched her grow visibly, knowing this was the perfect place for her recovery. Tang Hao marveled at the magical properties of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and asked Tang San how he had discovered it.
Tang San explained that it was thanks to a bet with Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo. He had cured Dugu Bo of his poison, forcing it into his spirit bone and using the teachings of the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record to detoxify him. In exchange, Dugu Bo allowed Tang San to collect herbs from the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, which his friends had also used for cultivation.
Over time, Dugu Bo became Tang San's lifelong friend and gifted him the well. Tang Hao expressed his admiration for Tang San, noting how fortunate he was to have friends, brothers, and a loved one, which gave life meaning and joy. The Fourth Prince intercepted Imperial Physician Yang’s attempt to give the Emperor a medicinal pill. Instead, he used a poison refined by Dugu Bo from his Emerald Serpent Emperor's venom to suppress the Emperor's toxins through counterpoisoning.
Dugu Bo planned to analyze Imperial Physician Yang's poison to develop an antidote. However, since the Emperor’s poisoning was severe, one treatment might not suffice. The Fourth Prince decided to take the risk of changing the medication multiple times, all the while hoping the Crown Prince wouldn’t grow suspicious of him. Bi Bi Dong visited the Elder Hall, intending to meet the Grand Worshipper, but Elder Golden Crocodile informed her that the Grand Worshipper was in seclusion.
Bi Bi Dong replied that she wasn’t seeking the Elder Hall's support or assistance; she was merely informing them of her plans. Holy Dragon Douluo, an elder of the Hall, was displeased with Bi Bi Dong's growing ambition and her increasing disregard for the Elder Hall. He argued that the Elder Hall was the true core of Spirit Hall, and just as they had once granted her control of Spirit Hall, they could take her power away.
Golden Crocodile, however, remarked that times had changed. Bi Bi Dong had grown too powerful, amassing a vast following of Spirit Masters across the continent. The Elder Hall could no longer restrain her. The Grand Worshipper, however, revealed to the other elders that he had received a divine message and believed the chosen one would eventually appear to stop Bi Bi Dong.
After training for a night at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Tang San noticed significant improvements in his cultivation. However, he also realized that Tang Hao had been poisoned. The toxic fumes of the well made it unsuitable for ordinary people to stay there. Tang San attempted to detoxify Tang Hao, but his efforts were ineffective. Tang Hao refused to leave, stating that he had promised never to leave Ah Yin’s side after seeing her again.
Moreover, with his level of cultivation, the poison was not life-threatening. Tang San, seeing his father’s resolve, gave him two slices of Dragon Zhi Grass and promised to refine a pill that would protect him from the toxins. Tang Hao worried about Tang San expending so much effort on the pill, but Tang San reassured him, saying he had managed to cure Poison Douluo’s poison and this situation was no different.
During the process of refining the pill, Tang San was injured but successfully completed the medicine and made Tang Hao take it. Tang Hao was furious upon discovering that Tang San had hurt himself to create the pill. He admonished Tang San, saying he must never harm himself for anyone, not even his parents.
Tang San explained that he only wanted Tang Hao to stay healthy and spend time with Ah Yin, and that it was his way of showing filial piety. Tang Hao, moved by his son’s dedication, finally took the pill. Tang Hao then urged Tang San to leave for the Clear Sky Clan, as his spirit power was about to reach level 60. He also reminded Tang San that Xiao Wu would soon reach maturity.
With a slight disguise, she would be safe from discovery. Tang San eagerly anticipated reuniting with Xiao Wu. On his journey, he sensed Xiao Wu’s emotions and used Blue Silver Grass to communicate with her, helping her overcome her inner demons and successfully transform her spirit ring.
Episode 15 Recap
Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing continued their training together. When Zhu Zhuqing saw that Dai Mubai was injured, she felt distressed and helped him bandage his wounds. Dai Mubai remarked that if all seven of the Shrek Seven Devils were here, the two Spirit Saints they were dealing with would be no match for them. He then suggested recruiting the Shrek Seven Devils under the name of the Star Luo Crown Prince.
Zhu Zhuqing advised him not to think too far ahead. At that moment, a guard announced that someone claiming to be the prince’s close friend had come to visit. To their surprise and delight, it turned out to be Ma Hongjun. After eating his fill, Ma Hongjun informed the two that during his travels across the continent, he noticed Spirit Hall recruiting high-level Spirit Masters in various regions.
He joined them undercover and discovered that Chrysanthemum Douluo, one of Bi Bi Dong’s followers, had arrived in Star Luo. He also noticed Chrysanthemum Douluo transporting a large number of weapons and armor into Star Luo City. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing agreed this was suspicious. First, Spirit Masters were mysteriously disappearing, and now Spirit Hall was recruiting soldiers everywhere. Ma Hongjun revealed that Spirit Hall was not training ordinary Spirit Masters but rather Spirit Master armies.
The three decided to secretly investigate and report their findings to the Star Luo Emperor. When Xiao Wu awakened, she realized that Spirit Hall was still trying to locate her. Not wanting to trigger another beast tide, she set up a warning system around her location. If Spirit Hall sent a large number of Spirit Masters to attack, the warning system would alert her, thus preventing the spirit beasts from being disturbed and initiating another beast tide.
Da Ming and Er Ming assumed that after setting up these precautions, Xiao Wu would leave to reunite with Tang San, whom she missed dearly. However, Xiao Wu stated that with the forest in danger, she could not abandon them at such a critical time. Tang San used the map his father gave him to locate the Clear Sky Clan but found himself in a small village.
When he asked the children there about the Clear Sky Clan, they claimed they had never heard of it. The children then snatched his map and ran off. When Tang San chased them to retrieve it, he fell into a trap. Tang San demanded they bring someone in charge to meet him. Tang Long, upon hearing the news, discovered that the person who fell into their trap was none other than Tang San, whom Tang Yuehua had often praised.
However, because Tang San was Tang Hao’s son and therefore considered a traitor to the clan, Tang Long declared that Tang San must wear chains before being allowed to enter the clan. Tang San agreed, putting on the chains and following the Clear Sky Clan disciples up the mountain. He also crossed a chain bridge to reach the clan. During the crossing, the bridge broke, and a disciple fell.
Tang San used his Blue Silver Grass to save the disciple, earning Tang Long’s respect. Tang Long admitted his change of opinion and removed the chains, leading Tang San into the clan. He warned Tang San that the clan’s top disciple, Tang Hu, would be a challenge to face. Tang San met the Clear Sky Clan leader, his uncle. The clan leader questioned Tang San’s purpose in returning to the clan.
Tang San replied that he had come to repay his father’s debts. He wanted to shoulder the responsibilities that Tang Hao owed the clan. The clan leader grew angry, criticizing Tang Hao for avoiding the clan’s consequences and now sending his son to make amends. Tang San explained that Tang Hao only sent him back because he felt unworthy of facing the clan himself.
Tang San admitted he didn’t know if he was capable but promised to do his best to bear the responsibilities for the clan. He then took out the two spirit bones his father had given him, stating they were part of what his father owed the clan. Tang Yuehua and Tang Xiao were shocked when they realized Tang Hao had forcibly removed his own spirit bones. Tang Xiao inquired about Tang Hao’s condition.
Tang San explained that his parents were recovering slowly at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Tang Xiao decided to hold a recognition ceremony to officially welcome Tang San back into the clan. Tang Yuehua suggested informing the elders first, but Tang Xiao proposed addressing it openly. He advised Tang San that strength was the ultimate authority in the Clear Sky Clan and that serving the clan wasn’t about repaying debts—it was his duty as a member.
Tang Xiao clarified that Tang Hao had simply acted as a father and husband should, and the clan’s struggles were not solely his fault. Tang Yuehua took Tang San to visit the graves of the Clear Sky Clan disciples killed by Spirit Hall. She explained that the clan was divided into two factions. One faction, led by Tang Xiao, believed Tang Hao was not at fault and blamed Spirit Hall.
The other faction, led by the elders, held Tang Hao responsible for neglecting his duties to the clan and siding with spirit beasts, which they saw as betrayal. Tang Yuehua warned that the elders would not permit Tang San to pay respects to his grandfather. Tang San replied that he understood the difficulty of reclaiming his heritage but vowed to do his best. Tang Yuehua urged him to prioritize his safety above all else and avoid unnecessary harm.
Episode 16 Recap
Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ma Hongjun infiltrated Spirit Hall in Star Luo City. They tasked Ma Hongjun with distracting the guards at the entrance while Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing snuck inside. However, they discovered that Spirit Hall was already empty, with its weapons burned. The fact that no one in the city was looking for Ma Hongjun suggested that Spirit Hall was too preoccupied to care. The three quickly decided to leave and report this information to the emperor.
They informed the Star Luo Emperor that the Spirit Hall in Star Luo City was empty, with no trace of the armor, spirit masters, or Chrysanthemum Douluo. Fearing that Spirit Hall might have ulterior motives against Star Luo, they requested the emperor to investigate. However, the emperor assured them that they need not worry about such matters and should focus on their cultivation. He explained that Duke Lingmao had already investigated the situation and found that all Spirit Hall branches were empty. When Ma Hongjun asked where Spirit Hall had gone, the emperor revealed that everyone from Spirit Hall had moved to Heaven Dou. The emperor expressed disinterest in interfering as long as it didn’t threaten Star Luo.
Dai Mubai argued that if Spirit Hall attacked Heaven Dou, it would inevitably affect Star Luo, but the emperor dismissed him, saying that whether Star Luo would suffer or benefit remained uncertain. He added that although Spirit Hall was strong, Heaven Dou was no pushover either. When Zhu Zhuqing tried to speak further, the emperor reminded her of the bet she and Dai Mubai had made long ago, urging them to focus on their own matters first. He also ordered guards to keep a close watch on Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, preventing them from leaving again.
Tang San's attempt to reclaim his heritage at the Clear Sky Clan was blocked by the elders. The Seventh Elder, whose son had died fighting Spirit Hall, held a deep grudge against Tang Hao, blaming him for the clan's decline and the deaths of its disciples. He declared that as Tang Hao’s son, Tang San was unworthy of standing within the Clear Sky Clan. When the Seventh Elder insulted Tang San’s mother, Tang San couldn’t hold back. Although he understood their resentment toward him, he refused to tolerate slander against his mother. Tang San challenged the Seventh Elder to a duel, demanding an apology for his mother if he won. The elders deemed this disrespectful, stating that Tang San had no right to challenge them unless he first defeated Tang Hu, the clan’s top disciple.
During the duel, Tang San revealed that he possessed twin spirits, a rarity seen only once in a century, as well as innate talents such as the Blue Silver Domain and the Asura Domain. This astonished the elders, and Tang San ultimately defeated Tang Hu, earning the right to challenge the Seventh Elder.
Before the duel, the Seventh Elder donned his late son’s armor, saying it was the only memory he had left of him. He declared that since Tang Hao refused to accept punishment, his son would have to bear it in his place. During the fight, Tang San displayed his external spirit bone, shocking the elders. Tang Yuehua explained that Tang San possessed three spirit bones, only one of which was inherited from his mother; the others he had earned through his own efforts. She added that Tang San had already surpassed Tang Hao in many aspects. To avoid damaging the Seventh Elder’s cherished armor, Tang San refrained from attacking and instead focused on defending against the Seventh Elder’s full-strength strike. As a result, Tang San fell into a valley.
Tang Xiao rushed to save Tang San, only to find that he was unharmed. Tang San used his flying ability to ascend from the valley. The Seventh Elder was stunned, remarking that anyone else would have suffered severe injuries or even death from such a strike. The Second Elder noted that Tang San could have used his flying ability earlier but refrained to protect the armor. He declared that the Seventh Elder had lost. The Seventh Elder conceded defeat, promising to personally apologize to Tang San and his mother once Tang San regained consciousness.
The elders agreed to let Tang San reclaim his heritage. However, before allowing him to pay respects to his grandfather, the Second Elder imposed three tasks:
Achieve a spirit power level of 80 within ten years.
Defeat a Titled Douluo from Spirit Hall.
Obtain a 100,000-year spirit ring upon reaching level 80.
If Tang San completed these tasks, not only would he officially inherit his position in the clan, but they would also allow Tang Hao to return. Additionally, Tang San would become the clan’s next leader, with full authority over its decisions. Tang San accepted these conditions.
Crown Prince Xue Qinghe discovered that someone had tampered with Emperor Heaven Dou’s medicine. He set up surveillance and caught the Fourth Prince, Xue Beng, in the act. Cornered, Xue Beng had no choice but to consume the poison himself. Unable to find the tainted medicine, Xue Qinghe released Xue Beng.
Meanwhile, Ning Fengzhi, the leader of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, and Yu Xiaogang received a message from Dai Mubai regarding Spirit Hall’s mobilization of spirit masters to Heaven Dou. They rushed to the imperial palace to report this to the emperor but were intercepted by Xue Qinghe. The prince claimed the emperor was unavailable and promised to secure the palace gates. He asked them to assist in defense.
After Ning Fengzhi and Yu Xiaogang left, Xue Qinghe secretly ordered Porcupinefish Douluo to inform Spirit Hall to act quickly. Xue Beng, now poisoned, sought help from Poison Douluo to suppress the toxin. Knowing they had been exposed and could no longer swap the emperor’s medicine, Xue Beng acknowledged that the emperor might not survive until they developed a cure. He also confirmed his suspicions that Xue Qinghe was behind the plot.
Episode 17 Recap
Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing had reached level 60 in spirit power as promised. The Star Luo Emperor ordered the release of Davis and Zhu Zhuyun but intended to cripple their spirits. Zhu Zhuqing pleaded for their spirits to remain intact, but the emperor grew angry, stating that he had already compromised multiple times. He emphasized that these ancestral laws were established to protect the royal authority of Star Luo, and they must be upheld.
Ma Hongjun then questioned, “What if the sole crown prince were captured or killed? Wouldn't that be a devastating loss for the Star Luo royal family? ” The emperor responded confidently that the crown prince was always protected by elite guards. Ma Hongjun pressed further, “But what if something unexpected happens? ”Dai Mubai joined in, explaining that his older brother’s excellence had shaped him into who he was today.
Sibling rivalry didn’t always have to end in conflict—it could also lead to mutual support. The emperor, contemplating their arguments, decided to give them a chance. If the four of them—Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing, Davis, and Zhu Zhuyun—could work together and defeat him, he would reconsider. He allowed Ma Hongjun to join their team as well. In a grueling battle, the four of them managed to injure the emperor in the final moments.
Shocked, the emperor realized a new possibility: the ancestral laws didn’t have to focus solely on conflict—they could also be used to foster strength through unity. Moved by this revelation, he decided to let the four of them lead Star Luo into the future together. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing mentioned their agreement with their friends to reunite at Shrek Academy in five years.
The Star Luo Emperor reminded them that Heaven Dou was currently in turmoil and advised them to stay vigilant during their journey. Upon returning to Shrek Academy, Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ma Hongjun were stopped at the entrance by junior students. At that moment, Ning Rongrong also arrived, using her Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda to confirm her identity. Liu Erlong, the headmaster, and Yu Xiaogang came out to welcome them.
Everyone noticed Oscar’s absence and asked Ning Rongrong about him, but she replied that she wasn’t sure if he would make it back. Meanwhile, Oscar had encountered a dire situation. He and his companions had stumbled upon a head spirit bone, but the Gale Wolf sought to kill them and claim it. In the end, Oscar managed to turn the tables and defeat the Gale Wolf.
Oscar’s companion, aware of his longing to reunite with his beloved, decided to give him the head spirit bone, believing it would help him return sooner. At Shrek Academy, the headmaster asked about their current spirit power levels. Dai Mubai revealed that he had reached level 63, Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong were at level 61, and Ma Hongjun was at level 57. The headmaster speculated about the levels of the remaining Shrek Seven Devils.
He guessed that Oscar, fueled by the power of love, was likely at level 58, and Xiao Wu, cultivating in the Star Dou Forest with its abundant spiritual energy, was likely at level 59. Liu Erlong even wagered that Xiao Wu might have already reached level 60. As they talked, the lights dimmed, and they suddenly found themselves in the spirit battle arena.
The students teased the headmaster, saying he was trying to squeeze every ounce of fame out of the Shrek Seven Devils. The headmaster explained that their championship win at the Spirit Master Tournament had greatly boosted the academy’s reputation, bringing in a steady stream of new students. Now that they were back, it was time for them to showcase their strength in a demonstration match. During the match, Tang San returned and joined the fight.
Everyone’s strength had improved significantly, and even the teachers went all out against them. In the end, noticing that the teachers were getting serious, the Shrek Seven Devils voluntarily admitted defeat. The headmaster praised them for their prudence. The headmaster noticed changes in Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass spirit. Yu Xiaogang explained to everyone that Tang San’s spirit had undergone a second evolution. The group was astonished, as they didn’t know spirit evolution was possible.
Tang San shared his experiences over the past five years, and everyone was moved by his journey. Zhu Zhuqing brought up the fact that Spirit Hall had been searching for Xiao Wu relentlessly over the past year. Yu Xiaogang noted that Spirit Hall’s attempts had failed and even triggered retaliation from a beast tide, forcing them to retreat from the Star Dou Forest. Zhu Zhuqing asked if Xiao Wu would have to continue hiding indefinitely.
Tang San reassured her that once Xiao Wu reached maturity, she would be able to conceal her aura, even from Titled Douluo. Tang San admitted that he had planned to find Xiao Wu first, but since it was time for their reunion, he came to the academy to ensure everyone’s safety. Upon hearing this, the group urged him to hurry and find Xiao Wu. They eagerly anticipated the day he would return with her, so they could reunite as a complete group.
Episode 18 Recap
Xiao Wu, in order to ensure the survival of the orphaned young spirit beasts who lost their parents in the beast tide, used Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass to build fences for them. She also had Er Ming spread his droppings around the area to deter other spirit beasts from approaching. This allowed the young beasts to grow up safely. When Tang San arrived at the Star Dou Forest, he noticed these arrangements and realized they were Xiao Wu’s doing.
He knew she must have expended a lot of spirit power to restore the area to normal, leaving her exhausted. Whenever he came across one of her setups, he reinforced it. Xiao Wu, informed by a bird that someone had tampered with her barriers, rushed over and discovered Tang San’s traces. She realized he had come looking for her. At Shrek Academy, everyone was discussing how to break through their limits during training.
Ning Rongrong mentioned that, as the first in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan to evolve her Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda spirit into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, no one had been able to guide her on surpassing her limits. At that moment, Ning Fengzhi, the clan leader, arrived. Despite being gravely injured, he dragged himself to the academy to deliver urgent news: Spirit Hall had attacked the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.
He feared that the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan was also in danger, as Spirit Hall was targeting clans, not just Heaven Dou. Ning Fengzhi decided to relocate the clan from the outskirts of the city to within the capital, seeking protection under the Heaven Dou royal family. He asked Rongrong to stay at the academy, where it was safest. As the hope of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, she must remain unharmed.
When Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong arrived at the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, they discovered that no one had survived. Yu Xiaogang’s father had been killed by Bi Bi Dong. Devastated and enraged, Liu Erlong wanted to seek revenge against Bi Bi Dong, but Yu Xiaogang and Fu Lan De stopped her. Xiaogang was heartbroken, regretting that he hadn’t returned to the clan earlier, which could have prevented his father’s death.
He declared that he would avenge his father, not just out of personal grievance, but also because Bi Bi Dong’s ambitions were now fully revealed. Liu Erlong later sneaked into Spirit Hall to confront Bi Bi Dong. When Yu Xiaogang discovered this, he hurried to rescue her. Bi Bi Dong tried to persuade Xiaogang to join Spirit Hall and work for her. Xiaogang retorted that she was the person he hated most and would never let her control him.
Hearing this, Bi Bi Dong was deeply hurt and asked why he hated her. Xiaogang angrily reminded her that she had destroyed his clan and killed his father—how could he not hate her? Bi Bi Dong argued that the clan had humiliated and scorned him in the past, and she had acted out of anger on his behalf by eliminating those who had belittled him. However, Xiaogang furiously stated that they were still his family.
Bi Bi Dong then asked what she meant to him. Xiaogang demanded she release Liu Erlong, declaring that the Bi Bi Dong he once knew was long gone. If she intended to kill him, she should do it now, because he would stop at nothing to avenge his clan’s destruction. Bi Bi Dong lamented that she had lived like a monster all these years, and Xiaogang was the only person who made her feel alive.
Killing him would be no different from killing herself. In the end, Xiaogang took Liu Erlong and left Spirit Hall. Yu Xiaogang and Ning Fengzhi went to the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace to report Spirit Hall’s actions against the two great clans. The emperor was enraged and vowed to wage war against Spirit Hall. However, Xiaogang advised him to bide his time and build up strength.
He explained that Spirit Hall had 20,000 spirit masters, including Titled Douluo, while the Heaven Dou royal family controlled far fewer spirit masters and could not match them in a direct confrontation. Xiaogang proposed issuing a royal decree to recruit spirit masters willing to oppose Spirit Hall. Despite the proclamation, no clans came forward. Instead, Spirit Hall announced that they would reselect the Seven Great Clans in one year. Upon hearing this, the emperor was so furious that he collapsed.
Crown Prince Xue Qinghe informed Xiaogang and Ning Fengzhi that the emperor had been severely poisoned, with the toxin reaching his lungs. Ning Fengzhi examined the emperor and confirmed that the poisoning had been ongoing for a long time, not a one-time act. Xue Qinghe assured them that he had a plan to catch the perpetrator if they made another move.
After regaining consciousness, the emperor handed over the Tiger Talisman to Xiaogang, entrusting him with command of the Spirit Master Legion. Xue Qinghe was alarmed and tried to intervene, but the emperor appointed Xiaogang as the Imperial Advisor, insisting that the young crown prince needed guidance from Xiaogang and Ning Fengzhi. Reluctantly, Xue Qinghe agreed. Outside the palace, Xue Qinghe stopped Xiaogang and Ning Fengzhi, expressing concerns about Xiaogang’s lack of experience.
He suggested appointing someone to assist in managing the Spirit Master Legion. When Ning Fengzhi proposed seeking the emperor’s approval first, Xue Qinghe firmly rejected the idea.
Episode 19 Recap
When Dugu Bo learned that the emperor had entrusted the Tiger Talisman to Yu Xiaogang, he happily reported it to the Fourth Prince. He believed that the Crown Prince would no longer have the energy to focus on them and, due to his concerns, wouldn’t harm the emperor further. The Fourth Prince thought that Dugu Bo had already prepared an antidote, but Dugu Bo admitted he couldn’t detoxify the poison himself.
However, if a close friend of his agreed to help, curing the emperor wouldn’t be an issue. Crown Prince Xue Qinghe appointed General Ge Long as a co-trainer with Yu Xiaogang to oversee the Spirit Master Legion. Xue Qinghe explained that while Xiaogang had been appointed as the Imperial Advisor in a moment of crisis, the heavy responsibilities of the Heaven Dou Empire still required dependable pillars like Ge Long.
Ge Long dismissed Xiaogang as a weak scholar with low spirit power and no battlefield experience, claiming the emperor had grown senile to entrust him with the Tiger Talisman. Ge Long was confident he could force Xiaogang out and reclaim the talisman, intending to give it to the Crown Prince.
Ge Long insulted Xiaogang, but Xiaogang presented the token given to him by the emperor, asserting that it was not up to Ge Long to decide whether he was fit for the position. Xiaogang pointed out that the slow progress in the Spirit Master Legion’s cultivation over the years was due to uniform, indiscriminate training methods. He explained that at Shrek Academy, training plans were tailored to each individual, which was far more effective.
After Spirit Hall destroyed the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, Bi Bi Dong ordered her people to search the Star Dou Forest for the 100,000-year spirit beast, the Soft-Boned Rabbit Xiao Wu. Tang San, upon seeing Spirit Hall members scouring the forest for Xiao Wu, became extremely worried and tried to use his Blue Silver Grass to warn her.
However, Er Ming mistook him for an intruder and struck him, inflicting severe mental damage. Tang San coughed up blood and fell unconscious, only to be discovered by Spirit Hall. Hu Liena recognized him as Tang Yin, the man she had been searching for. When Tang San woke up, he claimed he had severed ties with the Clear Sky Clan and had been accidentally injured by a spirit beast. Both Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo were skeptical of his story.
Tang San, not wanting to expose Xiao Wu, decided to feign loyalty and stay with their group. Hu Liena revealed that Tang Yin had once saved her life in the City of Hell and pleaded with the others not to harm him. Chrysanthemum Douluo persuaded Hu Liena to convince Tang Yin to join Spirit Hall, hoping to extract information about the Clear Sky Clan through him.
Tang San later learned that Spirit Hall had locked onto Xiao Wu’s location, which deeply worried him. To mislead them, he fabricated a false direction, but Ghost Douluo saw through his ruse, pointing out that the mental attack he suffered could not have been caused by the Soft-Boned Rabbit. Spirit Hall decided to take action against Tang San. At the critical moment, Xiao Wu appeared and lured Spirit Hall’s people away. Tang San followed her.
After five years apart, Tang San finally saw Xiao Wu again. She was accompanied by two 100,000-year spirit beasts, Da Ming and Er Ming, who were too powerful for Spirit Hall’s group to handle. Xiao Wu accused Spirit Hall of causing beast tides in the Star Dou Forest in their search for her and vowed to avenge the fallen spirit beasts.
Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo, realizing they couldn’t defeat Da Ming and Er Ming, used a fusion skill to temporarily restrain them, directing the rest to capture Xiao Wu. Seeing Xiao Wu in danger, Tang San intervened, fighting Spirit Hall’s members. Hu Liena was shocked by his actions and questioned his motives. During the fight, Tang San’s mask was shattered, revealing his true identity as Tang San.
Hu Liena, stunned, was injured and knocked unconscious when Tang San struck her against a rock. Tang San and Xiao Wu worked together to evade Spirit Hall’s pursuit. Xiao Wu led Tang San to an abandoned snake den, where she was distressed to see his injuries and insisted on applying medicine for him. Tang San reassured her that they were minor wounds and explained that the spirit bone in his right leg, left by his mother, had self-healing properties.
Xiao Wu was amazed to learn that Tang San’s mother was the Blue Silver Emperor, a plant-type spirit beast. She lamented how difficult it was for plant-type spirit beasts to reach 100,000 years and take human form, and she felt sorrowful upon learning of his mother’s sacrifice. Tang San explained that his mother had chosen to sacrifice herself to protect him and his father.
Xiao Wu remarked that his mother must have deeply loved his father, to which Tang San replied that this love was the reason his father had fallen into despair. Xiao Wu was surprised to hear that Hu Liena had spared Tang San and even allowed him to stay with their group.
She warned Tang San to stay away from Hu Liena in the future, fearing that once Hu Liena discovered he had deceived her, she would lose control and harm him. Tang San was touched by Xiao Wu’s concern for him. Tang San then gave Xiao Wu a Soft-Boned Rabbit he had woven using his martial spirit. Transforming the Blue Silver Grass bracelet into a ring, he proposed to Xiao Wu, hoping they could stay together forever and never part ways.
Episode 20 Recap
Xiao Wu accepted Tang San's proposal, promising to be with him for all eternity, through every season and every cycle of life. Xiao Wu thanked Tang San for giving her a home, while Tang San expressed his gratitude for her willingness to become his family. He admitted that he had once resented life for its hardships, but meeting Xiao Wu made him realize she was his greatest blessing.
Tang San and Xiao Wu were attacked by spirit beasts and forced to flee the valley. Although Tang San managed to defeat the beasts, he sustained internal injuries. Unfortunately, their movements were detected by Spirit Hall. Spirit Hall demanded that Tang San hand over Xiao Wu.
Despite being low on spirit power and having to face Spirit Saints, Tang San resolved to fight to the death to protect Xiao Wu, hoping to buy enough time for Da Ming and Er Ming to escape and ensure Xiao Wu's safety. Tang San sealed Xiao Wu's spirit power and stepped forward to face the Spirit Hall spirit masters alone. He was severely beaten but refused to give up on protecting Xiao Wu.
In a desperate move, Tang San forcibly removed his own spirit bone, which had a flying ability, and handed it to Xiao Wu, urging her to escape. Xiao Wu, witnessing Tang San's willingness to sacrifice himself, could not bear to let him die. She made the painful decision to offer herself as a sacrifice. Xiao Wu sacrificed both her body and soul to Tang San, allowing him to absorb her spirit ring completely without any limitations.
However, this extreme method of sacrifice meant she would die and her soul would disperse, leaving nothing behind. When Da Ming and Er Ming arrived and saw Xiao Wu's self-sacrifice, they asked her if it was worth it. Without hesitation, Xiao Wu declared it was worth it, as she could not live without Tang San.
Hu Liena, witnessing Tang San’s willingness to give up his life for Xiao Wu and Xiao Wu’s decision to burn her own life for him, was deeply moved by the love between them. Realizing it was impossible to capture Xiao Wu, Spirit Hall abandoned their mission and left the Star Dou Forest. When Tang San woke up, he found Xiao Wu in her Soft-Boned Rabbit spirit beast form lying on the ground.
Overwhelmed with grief, he learned from Da Ming and Er Ming that Xiao Wu had completely sacrificed herself—both her body and soul—so that he could absorb her spirit bone and 100,000-year spirit ring. Even if Xiao Wu woke up, she would no longer have her consciousness. Remembering the legendary Yearning Heartbroken Red flower, which could revive the dead and restore flesh and bones, Tang San fed it to Xiao Wu.
Tang San refused to eat or drink as he kept vigil by Xiao Wu's side. Da Ming and Er Ming tried to persuade him to take care of himself, reminding him that Xiao Wu had exchanged her life for his and that he needed to live well for her sake. While Xiao Wu's physical body was revived, her consciousness remained absent.
Tang San asked Da Ming and Er Ming if they knew a way to bring her fully back to life.
Da Ming explained that three items were required: first, a 10,000-year-old Sacred Soul Herb to awaken her consciousness, which they could help find in the Star Dou Forest; second, a treasure that could reshape her human form—the 10,000-Year Nine-Rank Ginseng King, which could be sought in the northern forests; and third, an ancient spirit beast's inner core to merge her body and consciousness.
Tang San revealed that he already had the inner core of the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake, prompting Er Ming to marvel at his extraordinary luck. Tang San vowed to reach the Title Douluo level as soon as possible and find the Nine-Rank Ginseng King to save Xiao Wu.
Da Ming reminded him of one more critical step: Tang San would have to return Xiao Wu's sacrificed spirit bone and spirit ring, as well as give her all nine of his Title Douluo-level spirit rings. Only then could Xiao Wu regain her cultivation and be fully revived. However, this would leave Tang San as a cripple, possibly costing him his life.
Tang San declared that Xiao Wu had given everything for him, and he was willing to do the same for her. He swore to bring Xiao Wu back to life and never part from her again. Tang San sought revenge for Xiao Wu by killing the Man-Faced Demon Spider, absorbing its 30,000-year cultivation. To his surprise, his spirit power advanced to level 66.
Meanwhile, Yu Xiaogang continued training the Spirit Master Legion using his own methods, while General Ge Long watched from the sidelines, shaking his head in disapproval.
Episode 21 Recap
Liu Erlong was deeply worried about Yu Xiaogang, who had been tirelessly training the Spirit Master Legion and researching martial spirits without rest. She feared his health would deteriorate and felt heartbroken seeing him in this state. Seeking advice, she approached the principal of Shrek Academy, asking him to persuade Yu Xiaogang to take care of himself. However, the principal explained that Yu Xiaogang was still affected by the tragedy involving the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.
Many people had already tried to convince him to rest, but he refused to listen. Yu Xiaogang was determined to train the Spirit Master Legion quickly to fight Spirit Hall and meet Emperor Xue Ye's expectations. With the threat of an imminent enemy, the Crown Prince even assigned General Ge Long to assist with the training.
However, Ge Long's real intention was to oppose Yu Xiaogang, as the Crown Prince remained focused on political power struggles, which the principal considered a bad sign. He advised Liu Erlong to support Yu Xiaogang fully. Liu Erlong, determined, said that if Yu Xiaogang refused to eat, she would do the same. Emperor Xue Ye's condition had worsened significantly.
Fourth Prince Xue Beng, in a desperate move, dug through an old secret tunnel he had once created to sneak out of the palace. Using the tunnel, he managed to enter the palace and tried to administer an antidote to Emperor Xue Ye. However, he was caught by people disguised as Emperor Xue Ye’s guards, placed there by Crown Prince Xue Qinghe.
Xue Qinghe had deliberately set up this trap to capture Xue Beng, accusing him of poisoning Emperor Xue Ye and demanding his execution. Xue Qinghe revealed to Xue Beng that he had long known about the switch in medicine and accused Xue Beng of plotting against the emperor. He also remarked on how Xue Beng, despite skipping school, had always excelled in his studies, earning Emperor Xue Ye's favor.
To avoid accusations of favoritism, the emperor had ordered the sealing of the secret tunnel. Xue Qinghe declared that Xue Beng would never see Emperor Xue Ye again. Xue Beng demanded to know what Xue Qinghe had done to the emperor, but when he tried to attack, Xue Qinghe easily defeated him. At the critical moment, Poison Douluo Dugu Bo appeared to save Xue Beng.
While fleeing, Dugu Bo and Xue Beng were intercepted by Porcupinefish Douluo, a Title Douluo working in secret within the Heaven Dou royal court. Dugu Bo was shocked to discover the presence of another Title Douluo among the court's guest elders. During their escape from the palace, Tang San intervened. Recognizing Dugu Bo, Tang San let them go but secretly blocked Porcupinefish Douluo’s pursuit, ultimately causing him to lose track of Dugu Bo and Xue Beng.
Porcupinefish Douluo returned to Xue Qinghe and reported the situation. In response, Xue Qinghe issued an order for the entire city to hunt down the Fourth Prince. Dugu Bo later met with Tang San and informed him about the recent events in Heaven Dou City. It turned out that Xue Beng’s reputation as an unruly playboy was a facade he had carefully maintained to avoid being targeted by Xue Qinghe.
Heaven Dou's royal tradition valued merit over birthright when choosing the next ruler. Although Xue Qinghe was the eldest, he was not the most talented. The most gifted was the Second Prince, who had mysteriously died at the age of twelve, followed by the sudden death of the Third Prince the next year—both from the same poison. Xue Beng, who was still a child at the time, realized the danger and feigned incompetence to survive.
Although there was no direct evidence, Dugu Bo suspected Xue Qinghe of orchestrating these events, as he benefited most from their deaths. Additionally, Dugu Bo detected the scent of mixed toxins on Xue Qinghe, suggesting a possible connection to Spirit Hall. Tang San warned Dugu Bo to be cautious while assisting Xue Beng, as their suspicions of Xue Qinghe’s collusion with Spirit Hall lacked concrete evidence.
Upon learning that Spirit Hall had not only harmed Xiao Wu but also destroyed the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, Tang San was furious. Realizing he was still too weak to confront Spirit Hall directly, he resolved to continue building his strength. Tang San visited Shrek Academy to see Yu Xiaogang and discovered that General Ge Long was making things difficult for him.
To defend Yu Xiaogang’s training methods, Tang San offered to participate in the training to prove their validity, even promising to triple the training load. Ge Long asked what would happen if Tang San failed. Yu Xiaogang declared that if Tang San lost, he would relinquish command of the Spirit Master Legion and withdraw from training them altogether. Under Ge Long’s suppression of spirit power, Tang San was required to complete twenty laps without using any spirit power or abilities.
He managed to complete the first nineteen laps. For the final lap, Ge Long unleashed his full spirit power, stating that if Tang San finished, he would cease interfering in the training and leave Heaven Dou City. In the end, Tang San persevered and completed the challenge. Impressed by Tang San’s determination, Ge Long apologized to Yu Xiaogang, admitting that any teacher capable of nurturing a student like Tang San must possess extraordinary skills.
He promised to resign and take up a post defending the border. Tang San shared the details of Xiao Wu’s dual sacrifice with his friends and teachers at Shrek Academy. Saddened by the news, they each supported Tang San in their own ways. Meanwhile, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan had a growing number of patients in need of treatment. Tang San offered to accompany Ning Rongrong with some medicine to help. The other friends also volunteered to go along and provide assistance.
Episode 22 Recap
Tang San was deeply moved when he heard an injured soldier express despair, saying he had lost the will to live because he could no longer protect the person he loved most. Tang San empathized with him, reflecting on how he, too, had failed to protect Xiao Wu, making life feel meaningless. Suddenly, Xiao Wu appeared in his mind, encouraging him.
She told him she had never truly left his side and urged him to pull himself together because many important things still awaited him. Tang San conveyed Xiao Wu’s words to the injured man, assuring him that as long as he was alive, there was still hope. Tang San explained that, even though the man’s body was damaged, he could still use his hands to craft hidden weapons or his voice to share his experiences.
Tang San promised to find a way to help him live on. Tang San began recording the recent events in a journal so that when Xiao Wu revived, she could read everything that had happened. Meanwhile, everyone discussed the overwhelming power of Spirit Hall. They lamented how the former three great clans had been reduced to their current state and speculated that the newly chosen seven clans might only serve as Spirit Hall’s puppets.
Someone wondered if no clan could truly stand against Spirit Hall. Xiao Wu replied that just because none existed now didn’t mean there wouldn’t be one in the future. Tang San explained that relying solely on their group, even with a few Title Douluo, wouldn’t be enough to challenge Spirit Hall. Dai Mubai suggested they should unite all possible forces to oppose Spirit Hall.
Tang San reflected on something his father, Tang Hao, once asked him: what it meant to be a true stronghold. Initially, Tang San thought it meant enhancing one’s own strength. However, after helping the injured from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, he realized that true strength also required a sense of responsibility. Still, he admitted he hadn’t fully grasped its true meaning. Zhu Zhuqing commented that a true stronghold was defined by the responsibility to protect loved ones.
Ning Rongrong added that it also meant protecting one’s clan and the people of the world. Tang San and Xiao Wu agreed that to fight Spirit Hall, they needed their own power. Tang San decided to establish a new sect. Yu Xiaogang invited Tang San to train the Spirit Master Legion with him. However, Tang San expressed doubts about relying on the Heaven Dou Empire’s royal family, as their internal power struggles were fierce.
If Xue Qinghe was indeed colluding with Spirit Hall, as Dugu Bo suspected, it could lead to catastrophe. Yu Xiaogang acknowledged Tang San’s concerns and supported his decision to establish a new sect. Xiao Wu noticed Tang San was burdened with worries. She understood that he feared putting everyone at risk by founding the Tang Sect, knowing they would face Spirit Hall and that the endeavor could cost their lives.
Xiao Wu encouraged him to share his thoughts with everyone, assuring him they wouldn’t fear danger because it was their shared dream. Tang San confided in his friends about his plan to establish the Tang Sect, and they all supported him. Ma Hongjun even declared that if Tang San was the sect leader, he would be the vice leader. Tang San noticed that Oscar had returned.
Oscar had learned of the calamity that befell the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and felt ashamed for not being by Ning Rongrong’s side during such a critical moment. He hesitated to face her. Tang San advised Oscar to cherish the people around him, regardless of status or identity, and not to regret missed opportunities like he and Xiao Wu had. Motivated, Oscar finally decided to meet Ning Rongrong.
Tang San approached Ning Fengzhi, offering to craft a batch of hidden weapons for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. Ning Fengzhi, moved by the gesture, expressed his gratitude. Although the clan had been heavily damaged, they still had financial resources and would provide substantial funding to the Tang Sect. The two sects formed their first alliance.
Ning Fengzhi placed a large order for hidden weapons, and Tang San promised that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan would always have priority access to Tang Sect weapons. Oscar later requested to duel a Battle Spirit Master to prove his ability to protect Ning Rongrong. After a fierce battle, he earned Ning Fengzhi’s recognition. Ning Fengzhi invited Oscar to rejoin the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan but also presented him with an alternative: joining the newly established Tang Sect.
Ning Fengzhi assured Oscar that no matter his decision, it wouldn’t affect his relationship with Ning Rongrong. Oscar chose to join the Tang Sect but vowed never to abandon Ning Rongrong. Regardless of Ning Fengzhi’s approval, he would continue to care for and protect her. Oscar also pledged to assist the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan whenever needed. Satisfied with his determination, Ning Fengzhi finally gave his blessing to Oscar and Ning Rongrong’s relationship.
Xue Beng sought out Tang San to ask for help in detoxifying Emperor Xue Ye. After examining the emperor’s medication, Tang San determined it was a complex mixed poison, and creating an antidote would be extremely challenging and time-consuming. Xue Beng acknowledged this and requested that Tang San keep the detoxification efforts a secret from everyone else.
Episode 23 Recap
The Shrek Seven Devils reunited after five years, gathering to eat and chat. Tang San couldn’t help but feel sad when he saw the empty seat meant for Xiao Wu. Overwhelmed by emotion, he left the room to sit in the courtyard, imagining he was drinking with Xiao Wu. Xiao Wu appeared in his thoughts and urged him not to dwell too much on his sadness.
Tang San confessed that he couldn’t feel happy, as his mind was consumed with thoughts of how to strengthen the Tang Sect and bring Xiao Wu back to life. Xiao Wu reassured him that these goals could be pursued slowly and didn’t conflict with his ability to find joy. The principal of Shrek Academy suggested to Tang San that many talented junior students at the academy hadn’t joined any sects yet, and he could recruit them into the Tang Sect.
Tang San thanked the principal for his support and shared his plan to bring the four clans once affiliated with the Clear Sky Clan under his banner. However, he acknowledged that the four clans harbored deep resentment toward the Clear Sky Clan because of Spirit Hall, so winning them over wouldn’t be easy. Tang San sought out his aunt to tell her about his relationship with Xiao Wu.
She expressed her full support for his plan to establish a new sect but was skeptical about his efforts to recruit the four clans. She suggested that he focus on recruiting other capable individuals instead, offering her help in that regard. As for the four clans, she, being a member of the Clear Sky Clan and Tang Hao’s sister, believed they wouldn’t even let her in before chasing her away.
Tang San clarified that he wasn’t asking her to persuade the clans but simply wanted to understand more about them. His aunt explained that the four clans with single attributes consisted of the Strength Clan, Defense Clan, Speed Clan, and Breaking Clan. The Strength Clan specialized in forging and was known for their immense physical strength, making them formidable assault-type Soul Douluo. Their clan leader, Titan, was the vice president of the Blacksmiths’ Association.
Tang Hao admired his forging skills, and Titan deeply respected Tang Hao. If Tang San wanted to start with any clan, the Strength Clan would be the most likely to agree. The Defense Clan was skilled in construction, especially defensive structures. Their leader, Niu Gao, was a defense-type Soul Douluo with a strong sense of loyalty and animosity, harboring deep resentment toward Tang Hao because of Spirit Hall.
The Speed Clan specialized in reconnaissance and consisted of pure agility-type Soul Masters. Their current leader was Tang Hao’s uncle and thus Tang San’s great-uncle, but they had lost contact since the Clear Sky Clan chose to go into seclusion. The Speed Clan had also faced hardship over the years. The Breaking Clan was adept at making medicine. Their leader, Yang Wudi, was deeply obsessed with his craft and had suffered the most severe persecution from Spirit Hall.
After leaving the Clear Sky Clan, the Strength Clan had fallen into poverty. They could no longer make ends meet, and Titan used his life savings to help the clan members. He told them to take the money and go their separate ways, but the clan members refused to leave him. Tang San and his group visited the Strength Clan. From his aunt, Tang San had learned that Titan was a man of his word.
Years ago, he voluntarily left the Clear Sky Clan when Tang Hao was expelled, as he couldn’t accept the decision. Titan’s greatest weakness was his loyalty to Tang Hao. Tang San invited Titan to join the Tang Sect. Titan, recalling the Strength Clan’s old vow to serve Tang Hao, agreed but requested a promise from Tang San: if the Tang Sect ever merged with the Clear Sky Clan, he would be allowed to leave.
Tang San assured him that the Tang Sect would not merge with any sect, putting Titan at ease. Although the Strength Clan agreed to join the Tang Sect, they refused to forge hidden weapons, citing an old vow to never create weapons again. Tang San brought Titan to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan to craft prosthetics for the injured. One of the patients told Titan that he owed his life to the Tang Sect’s hidden weapons.
Titan realized that weapons were neutral tools; their morality depended on how they were used. With this understanding, Titan agreed to forge hidden weapons for the Tang Sect. Titan pointed out that creating such a large batch of hidden weapons would require additional materials, which they would need to purchase from Gengxin City. However, Tang San emphasized that the more pressing matter was to win over the other three clans, a task that would require Titan’s help. Together, Tang San, Titan, and the group set out for Longxing City, which was currently under the control of the Elephant Armored Clan.
Episode 24 Recap
Tang San, along with Titan and Tai Nuo, visited the Defense Clan in Longxing City. After exchanging secret codes, the gates opened, and they were greeted by Niu Gao, the leader of the Defense Clan. Niu Gao and Titan were delighted to see each other. Titan introduced Tang San and his companions as the ones who defeated Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation in the Soul Master Elite Tournament.
Tang San revealed his identity, stating that he was Tang San, the son of Tang Hao. Upon hearing this, Niu Gao’s expression changed, and he demanded Tang San leave. He blamed Tang Hao for offending Spirit Hall, which had led to years of oppression for his clan, and he refused to welcome anyone from the Clear Sky Clan. Tang San first apologized to Niu Gao for the hardship caused by his father’s actions.
However, he argued that the true culprit behind all the suffering was Spirit Hall, and it was Spirit Hall that deserved to be fought against. Niu Gao responded bitterly, saying they wished they could oppose Spirit Hall but found it impossible. Tang San expressed his hope that the Defense Clan would join the Tang Sect to stand against Spirit Hall together.
Niu Gao, having never heard of the Tang Sect, doubted Tang San’s abilities, suggesting that if Tang San couldn’t even defeat him, he stood no chance against Spirit Hall. Tang San requested a chance to prove himself, proposing that if he won, Niu Gao would allow him to stay for their gathering and consider persuading the other clans to join the Tang Sect. Titan, impressed by Tang San’s confidence despite his youth, encouraged Niu Gao to give him an opportunity.
In their duel, Tang San defeated Niu Gao, earning his respect. While Niu Gao allowed Tang San to stay for the gathering, he emphasized that his grudge against the Clear Sky Clan remained unresolved. Tang San acknowledged Niu Gao’s bitterness, understanding that it stemmed from the Clear Sky Clan’s abandonment of the four clans in the past. Tang San assured him that the Tang Sect would never repeat such actions.
Niu Gao, known for his stubbornness and distrust, had suffered years of harassment from Spirit Hall. Tang San believed that if Niu Gao witnessed someone willing to stand up to Spirit Hall, he would be more inclined to trust them. The Elephant Armored Clan had already allied with Spirit Hall. Its leader, Huyan Zhen, arrived at the Defense Clan’s gathering with Hu Liena and Yan from Spirit Hall.
They attempted to persuade the Defense Clan to join the Elephant Armored Clan, but Niu Gao refused, unwilling to become a pawn of Spirit Hall. When Spirit Hall threatened the Defense Clan, Tang San stepped forward. He proposed a duel with Hu Liena, stating that if he won, Spirit Hall would stop bothering the Defense Clan. Hu Liena confidently accepted, vowing not to lose to Tang San again.
During their fight, Hu Liena expressed her lingering bitterness over being deceived by Tang San in the City of Hell. Tang San reminded her that in the City of Hell, they had to rely on each other to survive. However, once they escaped, he had made it clear that they would be enemies if Spirit Hall continued its tyranny.
Realizing Hu Liena’s feelings for him were complicated, Tang San deliberately did not dodge one of her attacks, allowing himself to be injured. He wanted to repay her favor and settle their debt. Hu Liena declared that they were even now and left with Spirit Hall’s members, warning Tang San not to challenge Spirit Hall’s overwhelming power. Tang San, however, vowed to avenge Xiao Wu, whom Spirit Hall had killed.
Niu Gao was moved by Tang San’s willingness to risk offending Spirit Hall to protect the Defense Clan. Witnessing Tang San’s strength and courage, he finally agreed to join the Tang Sect. When he saw Tang San’s hundred-thousand-year spirit ring, he was astonished, remarking that Tang San’s talent had already surpassed Tang Hao’s. Niu Gao promised that since the Defense Clan had joined the Tang Sect, he would follow Tang San’s orders whenever needed.
Tang San noted that while the Strength Clan’s estate currently served as the Tang Sect’s headquarters, it was too small to accommodate all four clans. He requested the Defense Clan’s help in constructing a larger sect headquarters, and Niu Gao readily agreed. After Spirit Hall announced a re-election of the Seven Great Sects, the Elephant Armored Clan began capturing the leaders of smaller sects in Longxing City, forcing them to join. Tang San decided this could not be tolerated.
Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing took on the task of investigating the matter. Meanwhile, Ma Hongjun, Oscar, and Ning Rongrong went to the market to shop for local specialties. There, Ma Hongjun encountered the white-robed girl he had been longing for—Bai Chenxiang from the Speed Clan.
Episode 25 Recap
Ma Hongjun approached Bai Chenxiang to strike up a conversation, but she mistook him for a scoundrel and slapped him. He chased after her, asking if she remembered him and mentioning how they had once teamed up against the Three Perverted Swordsmen. Bai Chenxiang, however, told Ma Hongjun to stay away from her. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing visited the Elephant Armored Clan and questioned Huyan Zhen about the disappearance of many sect leaders in Longxing City.
Huyan Zhen explained that it was a turbulent time, and some sect leaders abandoning their sects was understandable. He added that the Elephant Armored Clan was willing to take in smaller sects, considering it a contribution to the soul master world. When asked if he knew the whereabouts of the missing sect leaders, Huyan Zhen denied any knowledge. Dai Mubai urged him to personally investigate and handle the matter.
Zhu Zhuqing, under the pretense of wanting to explore the Elephant Armored Clan, discovered a heavily guarded area from which horrifying screams could be heard. When she tried to investigate further, guards stopped her, and Huyan Zhen also stepped in to block her path. Dai Mubai attempted to force his way in using his royal status, but Huyan Zhen firmly denied him entry. At that moment, Zhu Zhuqing’s father appeared to mediate the situation.
He subtly warned Huyan Zhen to act cautiously, reminding him that if anyone violated the law to expand their sect, the Xingluo royal family would not let it slide. He then escorted Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing away from the Elephant Armored Clan. The Xingluo Emperor summoned Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing back to the royal family. It was revealed that the Elephant Armored Clan was under Spirit Hall’s influence.
Zhu Zhuqing’s father cautioned them that openly confronting Huyan Zhen and attempting to catch him in the act on his territory was equivalent to challenging Spirit Hall. He pointed out that they lacked the strength to fight against Spirit Hall’s numerous titled Douluo. The Xingluo Emperor advised them to return to the royal family and proceed with their wedding plans. Zhu Zhuqing, however, didn’t want to become the Crown Princess, feeling the role was too burdensome.
She wished to marry Dai Mubai but rejected the idea of being a princess. Dai Mubai felt frustrated, believing he had been working hard for their future together, while Zhu Zhuqing seemed to want to give up. This led to an argument, and the two parted on bad terms. Tang San persuaded the Speed Clan to join the Tang Sect, but the Speed Clan’s leader, Bai He, was adamant about not joining.
Bai He argued that with the Defense Clan and the Strength Clan already in the Tang Sect, there was no need for a four-clan gathering. He suggested the Speed Clan could maintain a mutual support relationship with the Breaking Clan instead. When Ma Hongjun and the others returned, Titan introduced Tang San’s friends to Bai He.
However, upon seeing Ma Hongjun, who had previously annoyed Bai Chenxiang, Bai He’s expression darkened, and he advised Tang San to choose his friends carefully. Ma Hongjun expressed his belief that he and Bai Chenxiang were destined to meet. Zhu Zhuqing, however, poured cold water on him, saying he was likely imagining things since Bai Chenxiang probably didn’t remember him. Dai Mubai suggested there must be a misunderstanding and that it could be resolved through a proper conversation.
This sparked another disagreement between Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, and their friends, noticing the tension, asked if they were arguing. Both denied it. Later, Dai Mubai approached Zhu Zhuqing and suggested they resolve their conflict with a fight. He reminded her that Xiao Wu had once taught her that when unhappy or in disagreement, fighting it out could help. Whoever won would have the final say.
During the fight, Dai Mubai deliberately lost, admitting that he had underestimated the difficulty of changing traditions. He promised to listen to Zhu Zhuqing in the future—except on the matter of separating, which he would never agree to. Zhu Zhuqing, in turn, agreed that she didn’t want to separate either, and the two reconciled.
Tang San recalled that his aunt had told him the Speed Clan was the fastest among the four clans, but their attack and defense capabilities were as weak as those of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. Over the years, the Speed Clan had only survived thanks to the protection of the other three clans. Tang San decided the Tang Sect could provide the Speed Clan with support and chose to gift them the Zhuge Divine Crossbows.
To demonstrate the Tang Sect’s value, Tang San proposed a speed competition with the Speed Clan. Bai He found the idea arrogant and appointed Bai Chenxiang, the most promising member of their clan, to represent them. Ma Hongjun volunteered to compete against Bai Chenxiang on Tang San’s behalf. During the competition, Ma Hongjun revealed his Phoenix martial spirit, which directly suppressed Bai Chenxiang’s Swift-Tailed Swallow martial spirit due to its superior bloodline.
Episode 26 Recap
Because Ma Hongjun’s Phoenix martial spirit naturally suppressed Bai Chenxiang’s, there was no doubt that Ma Hongjun won the match. However, Bai Chenxiang was dissatisfied with the result, feeling that she was unable to exert her strength. Tang San expressed interest in witnessing the speed of the Speed Clan himself and offered to compete against Elder Bai He in another match. During their match, Tang San pushed Bai He to reveal his martial spirit’s true form.
Tang San, in turn, was forced to activate his sixth spirit ability—Void. In this state, Tang San saw Xiao Wu and was able to feel her presence vividly. He asked her if this meant she was still alive. Tang San had always been reluctant to use his 100,000-year spirit ring. Sensing his danger, Xiao Wu took the initiative to use her spirit ability.
Tang San voluntarily conceded, but Bai He argued that he hadn’t landed a hit on Tang San and thus couldn’t be considered the winner. Tang San explained that his sixth spirit ability, Void, nullifies all physical damage, meaning Bai He wouldn’t have been able to touch him anyway. Furthermore, the match was no longer solely about speed. Bai He admitted that since he had used his martial spirit’s true form, the match had also surpassed its original scope.
If they continued, he believed he would undoubtedly lose. Titan and Niu Gao stepped in to mediate, declaring the match a draw and emphasizing that it was meant to foster friendship. Tang San acknowledged that the Speed Clan’s strength lay in their unparalleled speed, but their weakness was their lack of offensive and defensive capabilities. He commended Bai He’s efforts to establish the clan in the soul master world and sincerely offered the Zhuge Divine Crossbow as a gift.
Bai He reluctantly accepted, promising to place orders with the Tang Sect in the future. Curious, Bai He asked why Tang San, as a member of the Clear Sky Clan, had founded his own sect. Tang San explained that his father, Tang Hao, had been expelled from the Clear Sky Clan years ago. Hearing that Tang San was Tang Hao’s son, Bai He became emotional.
The other two elders took the opportunity to persuade Bai He, pointing out that with the Tang Sect’s hidden weapons as support, the Speed Clan could grow stronger. Bai He said he would consider joining the Tang Sect but had one condition: since the Defense Clan had done him a favor in the past, Tang San would need to convince them to join as well.
Bai He presented Tang San with a Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng as a gift, revealing that he was Tang San’s great-uncle. He also informed Tang San that the Defense Clan’s leader, Yang Wudi, was fond of rare herbs and suggested using the Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng to win him over when he arrived the next day. Unexpectedly, Xiao Wu’s true form accidentally consumed the ginseng.
Xiao Wu felt guilty, knowing it had been intended for Yang Wudi, but Tang San reassured her that he would explain the situation. However, he was concerned about whether Xiao Wu’s fragile true form could handle the ginseng’s potent effects. Xiao Wu, on the other hand, felt a surge of vitality within her, indicating that the herb was benefiting her. Tang San and his companions waited in the hall for the tardy Elder Yang.
A disciple from the Defense Clan explained that Yang Wudi had been delayed while harvesting a rare herb and asked them to wait. As time passed without any sign of him, they worried about his safety. Tang San went to find Yang Wudi and discovered him at a cliffside, waiting for the Rock White Crescent Lotus to bloom.
Tang San noticed the area had sparse spirit energy and the lotus bud was still tightly closed, requiring much more time to bloom. Offering his help, Tang San used his Blue Silver Domain to quickly nourish the lotus. Grateful, Yang Wudi offered to grant Tang San a request, and Tang San asked him to join the Tang Sect, explaining that it was a sect dedicated to opposing Spirit Hall.
Yang Wudi initially dismissed Tang San’s request as grandiose and decided to teach him a lesson. During their fight, Yang Wudi injured Tang San, prompting Xiao Wu to sense the danger and appear to protect him. Xiao Wu fiercely attacked Yang Wudi, only stopping when Tang San pleaded for her to show mercy. The others rushed to check on Tang San and were astonished to find his injuries had healed.
Tang San explained that his spirit bone granted him self-healing abilities. Meanwhile, Ma Hongjun and Bai Chenxiang went out to the streets together. Ma Hongjun showed great care and attentiveness toward Bai Chenxiang. Members of the Elephant Armored Clan, who were after Bai Chenxiang, hesitated to act because Ma Hongjun was always by her side. Disguising themselves as beggars, the members of the Elephant Armored Clan orchestrated a scene where Ma Hongjun intervened to help the “beggars” being attacked.
To his surprise, the “beggars” poisoned him, rendering him unable to use his spirit power. Feigning that he had an antidote, Ma Hongjun managed to deceive the members of the Elephant Armored Clan and used the opportunity to escape with Bai Chenxiang. However, his ruse was soon discovered. Realizing Ma Hongjun was poisoned, three members of the Elephant Armored Clan attacked him together. Bai Chenxiang, unable to bear seeing him hurt, tried to take him away, but the attackers knocked her unconscious.
Episode 27 Recap
Yang Wudi, who had been knocked unconscious by Xiao Wu, was carried back to rest. When he regained consciousness, the other three clan leaders explained to him that Tang San was just joking earlier. They clarified that Tang San established the Tang Sect to oppose Spirit Hall and that, although he was Tang Hao's son, the Tang Sect would not merge with the Clear Sky Clan.
As they continued to praise Tang San, Yang Wudi interrupted, asking if they had already made any major decisions behind his back. The others admitted that their clans were currently too weak and that joining the Tang Sect would be beneficial for them. They were worried that Yang Wudi might refuse due to Tang San offending him, but Yang Wudi expressed his admiration for Tang San.
He appreciated Tang San’s help in accelerating the growth of the herb and assured them that he was not someone who held grudges. He stated that he could distinguish between father and son as separate individuals. Bai He then informed Yang Wudi that Tang San had prepared the Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng as a gift for him, which delighted Yang Wudi.
After Xiao Wu’s physical body accidentally consumed the Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng, not only did her body recover, but part of her consciousness was restored as well. Tang San was overjoyed upon witnessing this but became anxious when Xiao Wu remained silent. At that moment, Xiao Wu called to him from within his mental sea.
When Tang San entered his mental sea, Xiao Wu explained that her external body currently had no consciousness and that she would reside in his mental sea from now on. This way, they could communicate anytime and anywhere. Tang San told Xiao Wu that he had reached Rank 90 soul power and planned to use his soul ring, soul bones, and soul power to fully resurrect her.
However, Xiao Wu insisted that their current situation was already good enough and did not want Tang San to sacrifice all his cultivation for her. Tang San, on the other hand, was adamant that reviving Xiao Wu, no matter the cost, was something he must do. Everyone was thrilled to see Xiao Wu’s restored body, although they were surprised to learn that her consciousness resided in Tang San’s mental sea, making them symbiotically connected.
Xiao Wu could express herself through Tang San. The group celebrated the fact that the Seven Shrek Devils were finally reunited, though they noted that Ma Hongjun and Bai Chenxiang, who had gone out together, had not yet returned. Meanwhile, Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun had been captured and imprisoned by members of the Elephant Armored Clan. During this time, Bai Chenxiang recognized Ma Hongjun as the person who had once fought alongside her against the lecherous Three Sword Masters.
When Yang Wudi and the others noticed that Xiao Wu’s body lacked consciousness, Tang San explained that Xiao Wu had sacrificed herself to save him, nearly perishing in the process. Although her body had been restored, her consciousness now resided in his mental sea. The group suggested that if Yang Wudi joined the Tang Sect, he could gradually help treat Xiao Wu.
They urged Tang San to present the Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng, only for Tang San to reveal that it had already been consumed by Xiao Wu. He offered to give Yang Wudi another herb instead. Regretful, Yang Wudi remarked that perhaps he was simply fated not to have the Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng. He admitted that he had been willing to join the Tang Sect because of the herb, but without it, he no longer intended to join.
Tang San then presented Yang Wudi with the Fragrant Qiluo Immortal Herb, an invaluable treasure for the Defense Clan. Upon seeing it, Yang Wudi immediately agreed to join the Tang Sect. The Elephant Armored Clan attempted to use Bai Chenxiang's kidnapping to force the four single-attribute clans to submit to Spirit Hall. They released Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun to pressure the clan leaders further.
However, members of Shrek Academy infiltrated the enemy’s rear courtyard, rescuing Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun. Once they succeeded, they sent a signal, prompting the four clan leaders to seize the opportunity to escape. After securing the allegiance of the four clans, Tang San returned to the newly rebuilt Tang Sect to organize the sect’s affairs and assign positions.
Oscar was appointed vice-sect leader in charge of general operations, Ning Rongrong was made vice-sect leader responsible for finances and trade, and Ma Hongjun was named vice-sect leader in charge of combat operations. Ma Hongjun would select suitable disciples to form the Battle Hall. The Strength Clan was tasked with running the Strength Hall, which focused on producing hidden weapons and would serve as the Tang Sect’s primary economic foundation. Elder Titan would serve as hall master.
The Defense Clan was placed in charge of the Defense Hall, responsible for construction and fortifications, with Niu Gao as hall master. The Speed Clan ran the Speed Hall, which handled surveillance and intelligence gathering, led by Bai He. Lastly, the Breaking Clan was assigned to the Medicine Hall, managing both healing and poisons, with Yang Wudi as hall master.
The Tang Sect’s Council Hall consisted of Tang San, the vice-sect leaders, and the four hall masters, tasked with deciding major sect matters. Tang San announced the Tang Sect’s first rule: disciples were forbidden from indiscriminately hunting soul beasts. This rule stemmed from Tang San’s reflections on his mother and Xiao Wu. Lastly, Tang San presented the pill given to him by the fourth prince to Yang Wudi, hoping he could study it and develop an antidote.
Episode 28 Recap
Yang Wudi, aware that the poisoned individual was in critical condition, expressed his desire to see the patient personally. He believed that, with the Yang family’s medical skills, there might still be a chance to save the person. However, Tang San told him that the individual was not someone they could meet freely and refrained from elaborating further.
Yang Wudi admitted he had only a sixty percent chance of developing an antidote, so he quickly set out to begin his research. The nobles of the Heaven Dou Empire gathered to meet Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, requesting that he bring the Fourth Prince, Xue Beng, back for a public trial. They argued that there was no concrete evidence proving Xue Beng had poisoned Emperor Xue Ye, aside from Xue Qinghe’s claims, which made it difficult to convince everyone.
The nobles appealed to the Crown Prince to consider their brotherly bond and refrain from ordering Xue Beng's execution. Reluctantly, Xue Qinghe agreed to capture Xue Beng and have him confess in person. Porcupine Douluo, who overheard the nobles' doubts, proposed killing those disobedient officials. However, Xue Qinghe rejected the idea, explaining that those officials were the pillars of Heaven Dou Empire and could not be removed yet.
He lamented that, despite appearing to hold power, military authority was beyond his grasp, and the nobles were not fully united under him. Only by having Xue Beng confess in person could Xue Qinghe truly solidify his rule. Bai He brought out the dowry he had prepared for his granddaughter, Bai Chenxiang. Given the Tang Sect's current difficulties, he decided to offer these resources to Tang San.
However, when Bai Chenxiang delivered the box to Tang San, he politely declined, expressing gratitude for his great-uncle's kindness and assuring them that he would ask for help if necessary. Left with no choice, Bai Chenxiang took the box back. Later, Tang San and his companions planned to visit Gengxin City for supplies. Ma Hongjun suggested taking Bai Chenxiang along.
Tang San told Bai Chenxiang that he was her cousin and asked her to prepare to join them on the trip to Gengxin City. Before their departure, Yu Xiaogang came to see Tang San. Learning about their plans, he handed Tang San an Elder Token from Spirit Hall. Yu Xiaogang explained that Tang Hao had entrusted him with the token when sending Tang San to Nuoding Academy, hoping it would help him care for Tang San.
Yu Xiaogang encouraged Tang San to pursue the person he truly wanted to become rather than striving to live up to his father’s expectations. In the Star Luo and Heaven Dou Empires, blacksmiths were not highly regarded. However, Gengxin City, known as the Steel City, was a hub for blacksmiths, where their status was relatively elevated. During a conversation, they noted that Tang Hao himself was a divine craftsman. This thought saddened Tang San as he remembered his father.
Sensing Tang San’s unhappiness, Xiao Wu tried to divert his attention, joking that if he didn’t help her train, her body would deteriorate from inactivity since all she did now was eat and sleep. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing returned to the Star Luo Palace, where the Star Luo Emperor warned them not to repeat the events involving the Elephant Armored Clan in Longxing City.
He stated that as long as the Elephant Armored Clan refrained from expanding recklessly, the Star Luo Empire would not interfere. Dai Mubai explained to the Emperor that Spirit Hall was behind these actions and urged for more rigorous training. After observing the royal soul masters' training methods, Zhu Zhuqing bluntly criticized them as outdated. She and Dai Mubai had seen Yu Xiaogang’s approach to training soul master troops and found it highly effective.
They proposed drafting a detailed training plan for the Emperor to review. Delighted by their initiative, the Star Luo Emperor decided to grant the command talisman for the soul master troops to the Crown Prince. In Gengxin City, Titan exposed a fraud who was impersonating one of Lou Gao’s disciples to deceive others. It turned out that the impostor was backed by Spirit Hall. Lou Gao’s real disciple, Si Long, arrived and recognized Titan.
Si Long informed the Spirit Hall members that Titan was one of the Four Divine Craftsmen and the Vice President of the Blacksmith Association, someone even Lou Gao would show respect to. However, the Spirit Hall members dismissed these credentials, declaring that anyone who offended Spirit Hall would face consequences. Titan used his soul power to drive them away. Si Long then introduced Tang San and Titan to Lou Gao, who was studying the Zhuge Crossbow.
Tang San revealed that he was the inventor of the Zhuge Crossbow but explained that the Tang Sect’s hidden weapons were not shared externally. If Lou Gao wished to learn how to make them, he would need to join the Tang Sect. Lou Gao, impressed, gave up his position as President of the Blacksmith Association and appointed Si Long as his successor. Lou Gao himself decided to join the Tang Sect.
Episode 29 Recap
Tang San explained to Lou Gao that the Zhuge Crossbow was only a basic hidden weapon of the Tang Sect, and the Sect's top-tier hidden weapons were capable of threatening the lives of Titled Douluo. If these could be successfully crafted, it would revolutionize the blacksmithing world. Tang San handed part of the blueprint for the Torrential Pear Blossom Needle to Lou Gao for study. Upon seeing the design, Lou Gao became utterly engrossed, completely captivated.
He instructed Si Long to ensure that Tang San and his companions were well taken care of. Si Long led Tang San to an inn but was told that the rooms previously reserved by the Blacksmith Association had been taken over by Spirit Hall. Miles arrived with his entourage and arrogantly told Si Long to inform Lou Gao that if he agreed to merge the Blacksmith Association into Spirit Hall, they might consider giving him a room.
Xiao Wu, furious at Miles’ arrogance, wanted to teach him a lesson, but Tang San stopped her, saying it wasn’t the right time to act. Tang San then pulled out the Elder Token of Spirit Hall. Upon seeing the token, Miles’ arrogance immediately vanished, and Tang San ordered him to leave with his people. After leaving, Miles immediately contacted Spirit Hall to verify the authenticity of Tang San’s token and whether he was truly an Elder of Spirit Hall.
Si Long suspected that the disappearance of blacksmiths was connected to Spirit Hall. He speculated that they were capturing blacksmiths to forge weapons for them. Tang San suggested they investigate the missing blacksmiths while asking Si Long to quickly gather the forging materials they needed. Meanwhile, Bi Bi Dong ordered the Saintess to assemble part of Spirit Hall's forces to assist Crown Prince Xue Qinghe.
Emperor Xue Ye’s poison had already spread to his bone marrow, and his time was running out. Xue Qinghe, running out of patience with Xue Beng, spread rumors of Emperor Xue Ye’s critical condition to lure Xue Beng out. Concerned about his father’s health, Xue Beng had been training tirelessly and wanted to send people to infiltrate the palace to gather information.
Tang San discovered that Spirit Hall was transporting a large amount of armor to Heaven Dou Empire, realizing that Spirit Hall intended to make a move against Heaven Dou. He knew they needed to resolve the situation here quickly and return to Heaven Dou. Ma Hongjun and Bai Chenxiang scouted Spirit Hall and found that many blacksmiths were imprisoned and forced to craft weapons. In the backyard, they discovered the bodies of numerous deceased blacksmiths.
They managed to rescue a child who was barely alive and brought him back. Bai Chenxiang drew a detailed map of Spirit Hall's layout, and Tang San and his group planned to rescue the imprisoned blacksmiths that night. While Ning Rongrong was selecting ores on the street, she picked five pieces, paid for them, and was about to leave when Miles blocked her way. He demanded protection money from the vendor and tried to take the ores Rongrong had chosen.
Rongrong challenged him to a wager and lost, prompting Miles to propose another bet. Each would select a piece of ore they deemed most valuable, and whoever’s choice was more precious would win. If Miles won, Rongrong would have to go with him. Rongrong countered that if she won, Miles would no longer be allowed to collect protection fees. Miles produced a multicolored Glazed Stone, known as the King of Ores.
Si Long suspected foul play, as nothing more valuable than the Glazed Stone should exist there. Rongrong, however, calmly pointed to an ordinary black ore from the vendor’s stall and asked the vendor to cut it open. It turned out to be Cold Iron Crystal, a material ten times more valuable than the Glazed Stone. Understanding the value of the Cold Iron Crystal, Miles tried to take both the ore and Rongrong with him.
Rongrong then exposed his long-standing corruption, including exploiting vendors and substituting inferior goods, threatening to report his actions to the Elders of Spirit Hall. Miles had no choice but to leave. Before departing, Rongrong warned him never to bully the vendors again. Lou Gao came to Tang San, asking for the complete blueprint of the Torrential Pear Blossom Needle. Tang San replied that he would provide the full blueprint once Lou Gao officially joined the Tang Sect.
Lou Gao explained that crafting the Torrential Pear Blossom Needle required extremely rare materials, and without them, the design would remain theoretical. It would be pointless if they could only look at the blueprint but not produce it. Just then, Rongrong returned with the ores she had obtained, including Deep Sea Silver Essence, the core material needed for crafting the Torrential Pear Blossom Needle.
Seeing this, Lou Gao agreed to join the Tang Sect, on the condition that the hidden weapons produced by the Tang Sect also bear his personal mark alongside the Tang Sect’s emblem. To gather the remaining materials needed for the Torrential Pear Blossom Needle, Tang San planned to visit the auction house. Additionally, he hoped to borrow Lou Gao’s forging platform for crafting.
Episode 30 Recap
Tang San and his companions went to an auction to purchase rare materials, but unexpectedly encountered Miles there. Miles deliberately competed with them during the auction. Tang San used Lou Gao's forging platform to create a type of escape mechanism as a training exercise. Whenever Ning Rongrong tried to bid on something, Miles would intentionally outbid her at a higher price, aiming to ensure Tang San's group left empty-handed. Everyone was frustrated by Miles' behavior.
Tang San reassured them, saying their goal today wasn’t to win items but to make Miles pay the highest possible price for the treasures. The final auction item was an Eight-Treasure Wishful Soft Armor created by Lou Gao, with a starting price of 200,000 gold coins. Rongrong raised the bid to 1,000,000 gold coins, prompting Miles to outbid with 3,000,000 gold coins. One of Miles' subordinates reminded him that their budget for forging weapons for Spirit Hall was already tight.
Miles arrogantly replied that no one dared to demand money from Spirit Hall and instructed the auction house to deliver the item to him, telling them to seek payment directly from Spirit Hall. Tang San, not wanting to clash with Spirit Hall at the auction, held back. When they returned, Lou Gao was furious upon hearing what had happened and wanted to confront Spirit Hall to reclaim his treasure. Tang San stopped him, saying they would handle it themselves.
Tang San and his companions infiltrated Spirit Hall and killed Miles, rescuing the blacksmiths who had been captured to forge weapons for Spirit Hall. When Tang San returned, he informed Lou Gao that the Spirit Hall branch in Gengxin City and Miles were gone for good. They also retrieved the wealth Miles had amassed over the years from exploiting the citizens of Gengxin City.
Oscar handed this fortune to Si Long, asking him to temporarily safeguard it and return it to the people when the opportunity arose. Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun entrusted the young boy they had rescued to Si Long’s care. With their task complete, the group prepared to rush back to Heaven Dou to counter Bi Bi Dong’s next move. In the Sea of Spirit, Xiao Wu noticed that Tang San was being affected by his killing intent.
She reminded him to maintain a calm mindset and asked how he used to control it. Tang San explained that he used to play the zither to dispel his killing intent. Xiao Wu encouraged him to play again and focus on happy memories. Thinking of their shared experiences, Tang San gradually calmed down. He promised Xiao Wu that he wouldn’t let his killing intent take over, nor would it harm her.
While resting at the inn, the group decided to examine the Eight-Treasure Wishful Soft Armor. Even Ma Hongjun’s Phoenix Flame couldn’t damage it. Tang San declared that the treasure would be most suitable for Ning Rongrong and Oscar. However, Rongrong insisted on giving it to Xiao Wu, saying she needed it the most. Xiao Wu declined, expressing concern that she didn’t want to hold everyone back.
Oscar supported Rongrong, saying that if she had it, it was as good as him having it. In the end, the armor was entrusted to Ning Rongrong. News of the destruction of Spirit Hall’s branch in Gengxin City reached Hu Liena. Yan immediately wanted to seek out and kill Tang San, but Hu Liena stopped him.
Yan accused her of showing mercy to Tang San, but Hu Liena retorted that before leaving for seclusion, her master had entrusted Spirit Hall’s affairs to her, giving her the authority to make decisions. Despite this, Yan secretly led a team to ambush Tang San and his group but was defeated. At a critical moment, Hu Liena arrived and rescued him.
She told Tang San that she would make him pay for what he had done when she had the chance. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing returned to reunite with Tang San, bringing joy to everyone. Lou Gao officially joined the Tang Sect, much to the group's excitement. Tang San assigned Lou Gao to oversee the crafting of the Tang Sect’s advanced hidden weapons, promising to provide various blueprints. Lou Gao, thrilled, immediately headed to the forging room.
Tang San inquired with Bai He and learned that Spirit Hall had been gathering many spirit masters in the outskirts of the city. There were also reports of spirit masters frequently appearing near Shrek Academy and the new headquarters of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. Realizing an intense battle was imminent, Tang San ordered the Tang Sect to be on high alert.
Episode 31 Recap
Tang San and his group arrived at Shrek Academy and discovered that the academy was being watched. They decided to sneak in to investigate. However, Dugu Bo, seriously injured, appeared and stopped Tang San, pleading with him to rescue the Fourth Prince, Xue Beng. Xue Beng, worried about Emperor Xue Ye’s safety, had ventured into the imperial palace and was captured by Xue Qinghe, who was waiting in ambush.
Xue Qinghe still faced doubts among the ministers regarding Xue Beng’s alleged assassination of Emperor Xue Ye. To secure his position, Xue Qinghe forced Xue Beng to confess his “crime” in front of the ministers. Xue Beng, however, swore to reveal Xue Qinghe’s true identity instead. Xue Qinghe mocked him, saying he was unworthy of competing with him.
He warned that if Xue Beng refused to cooperate, Emperor Xue Ye would continue to live a life worse than death, suffering unbearable torment. Unable to bear his father’s suffering, Xue Beng reluctantly agreed to publicly confess. Xue Qinghe then forced Xue Beng to swallow a poison. The poison inflicted excruciating pain but was not fatal. It could be temporarily alleviated by taking the antidote. If Xue Beng consumed the poison, Xue Qinghe would trust him.
Left with no choice, Xue Beng swallowed the poison. Yang Wudi treated Dugu Bo’s wounds, assuring the group that as long as he rested, he would recover. Seeing Dugu Bo in such a state, Ma Hongjun feared Xue Beng might have already been killed. Dai Mubai speculated that Xue Qinghe wouldn’t kill the prince but would use him to publicly admit to assassinating Emperor Xue Ye, thereby earning the trust and support of the ministers.
If anyone attempted to rescue Xue Beng, they would be labeled as traitors plotting to assassinate the emperor. Xue Qinghe would then appear as the hero who “suppressed the rebellion,” securing his throne with a clean reputation. Despite knowing it was a trap, the group decided they had no choice but to take the risk. Rescuing Xue Beng and Emperor Xue Ye was their only chance to turn the situation around.
Tang San and the others prepared to infiltrate the palace to rescue Xue Beng and Emperor Xue Ye. He instructed Dugu Bo to stay at the academy and recover. Yu Xiaogang advised Tang San to send a signal if they encountered danger, so he could bring reinforcements from the spirit master army. Tang San cautioned that Xue Qinghe had long coveted the Tiger Seal and might collude with Spirit Hall to seize it, urging Yu Xiaogang to remain vigilant.
Ning Rongrong promised to contact her father, Ning Fengzhi, to have members of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan protect the academy. Xue Beng finally saw Emperor Xue Ye, unconscious and lying in bed. He forced Imperial Physician Yang to drink a poison he had concocted, threatening him to produce the antidote. However, the physician, unconcerned with his own life, only cared about whether anyone could counteract his poison.
Xue Beng knocked him out and placed both Emperor Xue Ye and the physician into his Shunyi Qiankun Bag. However, since the bag could only hold living beings for an hour, Xue Beng knew he was racing against time. If the bag turned from green to red, the occupants would be in grave danger. As Xue Beng tried to sneak out of the palace, he was intercepted by Xue Qinghe.
Tang San’s group arrived at the palace to find it fully under Xue Qinghe’s control. Xue Qinghe had indeed colluded with Spirit Hall, using their forces to attack the spirit master army. Tang San rescued Xue Beng, who informed him that Emperor Xue Ye was in the Shunyi Qiankun Bag and could only survive for an hour.
Tang San launched a signal flare to call for reinforcements, but Xue Qinghe sneered, saying help would never arrive as Tang San’s allies were already overwhelmed. Tang San confronted Xue Qinghe and discovered that he was not a Soul King but a Soul Sage. His martial soul turned out to be the Angelic Spirit, unique to Spirit Hall. Xue Qinghe revealed his true identity as Qian Renxue, a descendant of the former Supreme Pontiff of Spirit Hall.
Qian Renxue informed Tang San that Spirit Hall had already sent forces to attack Shrek Academy. She claimed his companions were severely injured, and the reinforcements he was waiting for would never arrive. Tang San saw that his companions had exhausted themselves battling the Porcupinefish Titled Douluo and needed to recover their spirit power. To buy time, he suggested collaborating with Qian Renxue. Tang San proposed two conditions for cooperation.
First, Qian Renxue must kill all those who had participated in the attack on Xiao Wu, including the Titled Douluo. Qian Renxue replied that she might consider it, but only if Tang San first achieved the rank of Titled Douluo. For his second condition, Tang San demanded the destruction of Spirit Hall, declaring it his eternal enemy. Dai Mubai and the others regained their spirit power and assured Xue Beng they had a plan.
They would use a fusion technique to summon Dai Mubai’s true martial soul form, which could rival a Titled Douluo. They intended to hold off the Porcupinefish Douluo while Oscar escorted Xue Beng to safety. However, even with their combined efforts, they were ultimately defeated by the Porcupinefish Douluo. In a desperate bid, the group risked their lives to hold him back, giving Oscar and Xue Beng the chance to escape.
Within Qian Renxue’s Angelic Domain, Tang San found himself unable to use his spirit power. To stall for time, he praised Qian Renxue for her patience and perseverance, remarking on how she had endured twenty years in disguise for her grand ambition. Xiao Wu, sensing their companions could no longer hold on, urged Tang San to act. Under the crushing pressure of the Angelic Domain, Tang San was overwhelmed and unable to fight back. At this critical moment, Xiao Wu appeared.
Episode 32 Recap
Xiao Wu appeared and embraced Tang San, intercepting Qian Renxue's Sacred Sword. Xiao Wu was unharmed thanks to her Eight Treasures Wishful Soft Armor, which greatly surprised Qian Renxue. Xiao Wu realized that Qian Renxue's domain had already been broken by Tang San, leaving her nearly at her limit. Xiao Wu declared that if Qian Renxue wanted to deal with Tang San, she would have to defeat her first.
The rest of the Seven Devils stood up one after another, joining Tang San in preparing to face the enemy. At that moment, members of the Tang Sect arrived, having seen the sect's distress signal Tang San had sent. Bai He held back the guards, allowing Niu Gao and Titan to join the fight. Qian Renxue, now unable to use her spirit power, had no choice but to retreat with the Porcupinefish Douluo.
Tang San, overjoyed to see Xiao Wu in her physical form, was deeply moved. However, Xiao Wu had exhausted her spirit power and returned to rest within Tang San's spiritual sea. Tang San quickly urged everyone to return to Shrek Academy. Meanwhile, Hu Liena led members of the Spirit Hall to Shrek Academy, intending to capture Yu Xiaogang.
Knowing Yu Xiaogang was the soul of the Soul Master Corps, they believed capturing him would cause the Heavenly Soul Master's army to fall into chaos. However, Yu Xiaogang joined forces with Ning Fengzhi, Shrek Academy's headmaster, and Liu Erlong to defeat Hu Liena and her group. When Tang San and the others returned, they told Hu Liena they had already defeated Qian Renxue. Additionally, the Five Elders of the Tang Sect had surrounded the Spirit Hall's troops.
Unable to accept this failure, Hu Liena was persuaded by Chrysanthemum Douluo and others to retreat, recognizing their defeat. Qian Renxue, realizing she had lost both Xue Beng and Emperor Xue Ye, knew she could no longer return to the Heaven Dou royal family under the guise of the crown prince to vie for the throne. Reluctantly, she left with the Spirit Hall members.
Yang Wudi examined Emperor Xue Ye's condition and informed Xue Beng that the emperor had been severely poisoned. If an antidote could be developed within 12 hours, there was still a glimmer of hope. Yang Wudi assured him he would do his best. Xue Beng, suffering from the corrosive poison, was discovered by Yang Wudi, who asked who had poisoned him. Xue Beng revealed it was Imperial Physician Yang, who had also poisoned his father.
When Yang Wudi asked where the physician was, Xue Beng said he was being detained in the firewood room but refused to reveal the antidote's formula despite all threats and bribes. Yang Wudi went to the firewood room and found that Imperial Physician Yang was indeed his younger brother, Yang Wushuang. He asked Yang Wushuang why he had done this. Yang Wushuang explained that he wanted to destroy the Po Zhi Clan.
Years ago, when Spirit Hall sought the whereabouts of the Clear Sky Clan, Yang Wudi sacrificed him to protect the clan, leading to Yang Wushuang being captured by Spirit Hall. He endured endless suffering and humiliation, barely surviving, all for this moment. If Xue Qinghe (Qian Renxue) had succeeded, Yang Wudi would have been accused of being Xue Beng's accomplice, which would have resulted in the extermination of the Po Zhi Clan.
Yang Wushuang admitted he would not reveal the antidote for the Rainbow Poison but hinted that his blood, which he used to cultivate the poison within himself, was the key ingredient for the antidote. Yang Wudi told his brother that he intended to save not only Emperor Xue Ye but also him. Touched by Yang Wudi's words, Yang Wushuang asked if he could take him home.
Yang Wudi promised he would, but Yang Wushuang declared that he could not be saved and left his blood for the antidote before taking his own life. After Yang Wudi detoxified Emperor Xue Ye, the emperor woke up. Although the poison was neutralized, he only had three years left to live, during which he would be in frail health. Upon awakening, Emperor Xue Ye listened to Dugu Bo recount recent events.
He asked Yu Xiaogang about the Soul Master Corps' casualties and Qian Renxue's whereabouts. Upon learning that over half the corps had been lost and Qian Renxue had disappeared after killing all the Heaven Dou palace guards, the emperor was enraged. Yu Xiaogang advised him to prioritize his health. Emperor Xue Ye asked Ning Fengzhi to stay behind and requested him to use a secret technique to restore his body, even at the cost of his own life force.
The emperor felt immense guilt for allowing traitors to remain by his side, leading to the current chaos. He did not wish to leave this mess for Xue Beng to handle and thus decided to restore his strength to stabilize the situation. Ning Fengzhi warned him that the secret technique would be excruciatingly painful and that he would be lucky to live for half a year after using it. Emperor Xue Ye, laughing bitterly, still decided to proceed.
Afterward, Emperor Xue Ye formally declared war on Spirit Hall in his name. He expressed his hope that Xue Beng could complete this task in his stead if he did not survive. Upon returning to the Tang Sect, Tang San discovered that Qian Renxue had killed thirty members of the sect and left a message declaring war on him.
Episode 33 Recap
Qian Renxue returned to the Spirit Hall and met Bi Bi Dong. She admitted that she felt defeated by Bi Bi Dong because her impatience to eliminate the Heaven Dou Soul Master Corps and seize power had left her no time for proper planning. Bi Bi Dong coldly remarked that Qian Renxue was no longer a child crying for her mother but still refused to take responsibility.
Qian Renxue retorted, saying she had no mother because, in the past, when she cried and sought Bi Bi Dong’s comfort, she was pushed away. Instead, she was treated as a mere chess piece. Bi Bi Dong had implanted the Angelic God Spirit Bone into her body, disguising her martial soul and forcing her to impersonate Xue Qinghe to infiltrate the Heaven Dou royal family.
From that moment, Qian Renxue realized she had no mother, and the only family she had was her grandfather. She declared her intention to gain her grandfather’s approval to take over the Elder Hall’s management, aiming to split power with Bi Bi Dong. Hearing this, Bi Bi Dong became furious, wounded her, and warned her not to overestimate herself, stating that even her grandfather would not support her with her current strength.
Yu Xiaogang asked Tang San about his battle with Qian Renxue. Tang San admitted that Qian Renxue was extremely powerful and that their victory was largely due to luck. He had to exert all his strength to break through her Angelic Domain, and if Xiao Wu hadn’t appeared at the critical moment to confront Qian Renxue head-on, they would have been defeated.
Ning Fengzhi then recalled that Qian Xunji’s martial soul was the Six-Winged Angel, so Qian Renxue likely inherited his martial soul. However, he also remembered hearing about Qian Renxue’s earlier cultivation, during which her martial soul was clearly the Swan martial soul, which was exclusive to the Heaven Dou royal family. He speculated that Qian Renxue might possess twin martial souls. Yu Xiaogang then remembered that Bi Bi Dong had once explained to him about the Angelic God Spirit Bones.
These six spirit bones could only be absorbed by those with the Six-Winged Angel martial soul. Moreover, some of the spirit bones in the God Spirit Armors could enable dual disguises—not only could they change one’s appearance and voice, but they could also mask their martial soul. If all six pieces were gathered, the amplification to one’s strength would be unimaginable. He concluded that Qian Renxue likely possessed a spirit bone capable of dual disguise.
Everyone agreed that with Qian Renxue’s talent and strength, if she gained the amplification from the Angelic God Spirit Bones, her power might surpass Bi Bi Dong’s. However, Yu Xiaogang pointed out that obtaining the Angelic God Spirit Bones was no easy feat. It was said that to absorb the final spirit bone, one must first reach rank 100 in spirit power. In the history of soul masters, advancing from rank 90 onward was extremely challenging.
He recounted the story of a Douluo who reached rank 99 and took 30 years to break through to rank 100. That Douluo was none other than Qian Renxue’s grandfather, Qian Daoliu, the Grand Worshipper of the Spirit Hall. Qian Renxue approached her grandfather, Qian Daoliu, and expressed her bitterness about being used as a pawn by Bi Bi Dong to infiltrate the Heaven Dou royal family.
She claimed that this was enough to repay the debt of giving her life. She then proposed taking over Qian Daoliu’s position in managing the Elder Hall to show Bi Bi Dong that the Elder Hall was the true core of the Spirit Hall. However, Qian Daoliu told her that the Elder Hall was no longer as powerful as it once was, and Bi Bi Dong’s influence in the Spirit Hall had surpassed his.
Qian Renxue responded that the world was survival of the fittest, where strength dictated authority. She expressed her desire to quickly absorb a second spirit bone and asked for her grandfather’s assistance. Meanwhile, Emperor Xue Ye tasked Ning Fengzhi and Yu Xiaogang with entering the palace to train the Heaven Dou Soul Master Corps and take charge of all Heaven Dou soul masters. He officially named Xue Beng as crown prince.
Poison Douluo also joined Tang San in the Tang Sect, intending to spend his later years there. To quickly improve their strength and prepare to face the Spirit Hall, everyone decided to train at Sea God Island. Liu Erlong tried to stop them, thinking they were being reckless. Yu Xiaogang warned them that Sea God Island was incredibly dangerous, far beyond even the terror of the Capital of Death.
He explained that it was said a Limit Douluo with rank 99 spirit power resided on Sea God Island, wielding the power of the Sea God. Any soul masters entering the island would have to confront this power. During the confrontation, this power would rapidly enhance and amplify the soul master’s strength but could also exceed their limits and ultimately consume them. If this were true, going there would be a death sentence.
Despite this, the Shrek members were determined to take the risk. Tang San mentioned that he had some matters to attend to at the Clear Sky Clan and promised to rejoin the group for their journey to Sea God Island after finishing his tasks. When Xiao Wu awoke, Tang San was overjoyed and took her, along with Luo Gao, back to the Clear Sky Clan.
Episode 34 Recap
Tang San explained to the elders of the Clear Sky Clan that he understood their decision to remain in seclusion to avoid conflict with the Spirit Hall. To fight against the Spirit Hall, he had established his own sect, the Tang Sect, and gathered the four single-attribute clans to form the four halls of the Tang Sect. The elders, feeling guilt over their past treatment of the four clans, recognized that Tang San’s actions were a way of compensating them.
Initially, the elders were displeased with Tang San’s decision to form his own sect. However, upon seeing his rapid increase in spirit power and the acquisition of a 100,000-year spirit ring, they reconsidered. Tang San reassured them that he had not forgotten his promise to the Clear Sky Clan.
In turn, the elders expressed their understanding and support, affirming that Tang San would always be a disciple of the Clear Sky Clan, and the clan would always stand as his backing. Tang San sought out his uncle, Tang Xiao, and explained that crafting hidden weapons for the Tang Sect required the cooperation of a Title Douluo with the Clear Sky Hammer. He had no choice but to ask for Tang Xiao’s help.
Tang Xiao agreed to do his best to assist him. Tang San then inquired about Qian Daoliu, a rank 99 Title Douluo from the Spirit Hall. Tang Xiao revealed that Qian Daoliu was the reason the Spirit Hall had the power to nearly destroy the Clear Sky Clan, forcing them into seclusion. He shared that the Clear Sky Clan once had a rank 99 Title Douluo of its own: Tang Chen, Tang San’s great-grandfather.
Tang Chen and Qian Daoliu were known as the Twin Peaks of the soul master world. The two had once fought a legendary duel, with Tang Chen holding a slight advantage. Following the duel, Qian Daoliu retreated to the Spirit Hall, while Tang Chen left the Clear Sky Clan in pursuit of breaking through the Title Douluo barrier and reaching rank 100. He never returned, and his fate remained unknown—he might have achieved a new level or failed and perished.
Tang San asked what it meant to reach rank 100. Tang Xiao explained that breaking through to rank 100 was akin to attaining a god-like realm—it was, in essence, becoming a god. Tang San informed Tang Xiao that after leaving the Clear Sky Clan, he intended to go to Sea God Island to train. Tang Xiao warned him that both Tang Chen and Qian Daoliu had been defeated by the Hai Shen Dou Luo of Sea God Island.
Although Hai Shen Dou Luo was comparable in strength to Qian Daoliu, as long as she remained on Sea God Island, she could harness all the ocean’s power. Only those who reached rank 100 could challenge her. Tang Xiao also gave Tang San two critical pieces of advice: first, beware of the Sea God Beast, as it had a violent temperament. Second, never kill anyone on the island.
While the soul masters of Sea God Island were wary of outsiders, they usually opted to expel them rather than kill. However, if anyone attacked first, they would retaliate without mercy. With the help of Qian Daoliu, Qian Renxue successfully absorbed the second spirit bone of the Angelic God Spirit Bones. Qian Daoliu informed her that to gain the approval of the elders of the Spirit Hall, she first needed to undergo the Angel God’s trials.
Tang San took Xiao Wu to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well to meet his parents. He expressed his desire to set an engagement with Xiao Wu in their presence. After hearing about Tang San’s journey and the establishment of the Tang Sect, Tang Hao was deeply moved. He told Tang San that he now understood the true meaning of strength and was proud of his son.
However, Tang Hao also lamented that he could no longer help Tang San. Tang San reassured him, saying that Tang Hao had already done enough for him and that he would accomplish what his father could not. Tang San only wished for his parents to live peacefully at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Under the witness and blessings of Tang San’s parents, Tang San and Xiao Wu became engaged.
The two then returned to Shrek Academy to prepare for their journey to Sea God Island. Hearing that Tang San and his group were heading to Sea God Island for training, Emperor Xue Ye summoned Tang San to the palace. He had Xue Beng formally acknowledge Tang San as his teacher and bestowed upon Tang San the title of Blue-Haired King, a title granted to those outside the royal family.
As a token, Emperor Xue Ye gifted Tang San the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, which served as a symbol of his identity. This item was also a powerful soul tool with many uses. Tang San discovered that when he infused it with soul power, it emitted a mysterious force that caused him to feel dizzy. Even Xiao Wu, in his spiritual sea, sensed a surge of power flowing in. Unable to withstand it, Tang San fainted.
At that moment, a mysterious voice within the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud spoke, saying it had been a long time since it encountered someone capable of bearing the power of the Vast Sea. The voice added that whether Tang San could handle it moving forward would depend on him.
Episode 35 Recap
When Tang San woke up, he saw the concerned faces of the other members of the Shrek Seven Devils. He told them that Emperor Xue Ye had gifted him a treasure, the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud. Tang San explained that he could feel a vigorous and boundless energy emanating from it. After infusing it with soul power to test it, he discovered that it truly was a treasure. Its first skill, the Vast Sea Protection Shield, granted invisibility.
The second skill, the Vast Sea Immobilization Shield, could restrain opponents. The third and fourth skills were offensive, one being an area attack and the other a single-target attack. Tang San noted that the emperor had thoughtfully considered their journey to Sea God Island and felt grateful for his foresight. The group prepared to depart for Sea God Island.
At the gates of Shrek Academy, the teachers bid them farewell one by one, watching as the Shrek Seven Devils and Bai Chenxiang set off. Meanwhile, Qian Renxue knelt before the statue in the Elder Hall, waiting for the Angel God to descend and administer her trial. However, she waited in vain. In a dazed state, she recalled an event from her childhood: after her martial spirit awakened, she had gone to see her mother, Bi Bi Dong.
To her shock, Bi Bi Dong was deeply distressed upon seeing her martial spirit and ordered her to be sent away. Furious, Qian Renxue had demanded to know what she had done wrong to deserve such treatment. When Qian Renxue awoke, she muttered to herself, “I’ve done nothing wrong. The one in the wrong is Bi Bi Dong. ” This time, it was not Qian Renxue who was abandoned by Bi Bi Dong.
Bi Bi Dong, upon hearing that Qian Renxue had absorbed her second spirit bone and was still kneeling before the statue, sneered at her daughter’s futile hopes. She reflected bitterly on her past: years ago, Chihiro Ji had imprisoned and violated her, causing her to separate from Yu Xiaogang and give birth to Qian Renxue. Bi Bi Dong resented the Angel Clan for destroying her life and swore never to forgive them.
What Bi Bi Dong did not know was that the breakup letter she received from Yu Xiaogang had been fabricated. Disguised as her, Chihiro Ji had told Yu Xiaogang—who had come to the Spirit Hall searching for her—that Bi Bi Dong only used him to study the cultivation of twin martial spirits and had no intention of leaving the Spirit Hall to roam the continent with him.
Yu Xiaogang, heartbroken, agreed to write the letter, believing it would prove Bi Bi Dong’s loyalty to the Spirit Hall. Meanwhile, Tang San and his companions arrived at Vast Sea City. As soon as they entered the city, they encountered a man calling himself "Captain Sea," who eagerly promoted his services. After being rejected, the man continued to follow them, trying to squeeze some profit out of the group.
Tang San instructed everyone to split up to gather information: Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun went to investigate the city’s Great Spirit Arena, while Oscar and Ning Rongrong were tasked with purchasing supplies. The remaining members inquired about renting or chartering a ship. Captain Sea, noticing Oscar and Ning Rongrong’s generosity, took the opportunity to promote himself, boasting about his familiarity with Vast Sea City. He offered his services, claiming his prices were fair and honest.
Meanwhile, Bai Chenxiang discovered that the largest spirit arena in Vast Sea City was located in the east. This arena allowed both land-based and sea-based spirit masters to compete. The matches were highly combative, and anyone wishing to face a sea spirit master had to sign a life-and-death agreement. Upon hearing this, Captain Sea added that sea spirit masters had a distinct combat style. Even a Contra-level sea spirit master could defeat a land-based Title Douluo while at sea.
After discussing their options, the group decided that Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun would participate in the match while the others observed to analyze the sea spirit masters' techniques. Captain Sea charged Ning Rongrong fifty gold soul coins to lead them to the Great Spirit Arena and secured them VIP seats. The first match was between the "Sea Soul Brothers" and the "Phoenix Fragrance Duo" (Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun).
The Sea Soul Brothers were on a four-win streak, and if they won this match, they would achieve five consecutive victories. The brothers demonstrated exceptional teamwork, both possessing water attributes, which made it likely that they had a fusion skill. During the fight, the Sea Soul Brothers noticed that Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun refused to enter the water and instead remained airborne. In response, the brothers manipulated the water into a dome that enveloped Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun.
Under the water dome, the stronger Bai Chenxiang and Ma Hongjun fought, the more energy they lost. Before long, they began to falter. At one point, Ma Hongjun took a hit meant for Bai Chenxiang, leaving him injured.
Episode 36 Recap
Ma Hongjun, enraged after seeing Bai Chenxiang injured, unleashed the skill from his right arm spirit bone to attack the Sea Soul Brothers, poisoning them in the process. He then snapped his fingers, engulfing them in flames, which dissipated the water dome. With this, Ma Hongjun and Bai Chenxiang secured victory in the match. Overjoyed by their win, the two celebrated their prize money, and Bai Chenxiang suggested giving it to her cousin, Tang San.
After the match, Ma Hongjun took the initiative to detoxify the Sea Soul Brothers and sincerely admitted that he had used tricks to win, acknowledging that otherwise, he would have lost the match. Captain Sea, noticing their victory, tried to impress them by boasting about his familiarity with Vast Sea City and recommending exciting activities like boating and diving. Tang San, however, told Captain Sea that their destination was Sea God Island.
Hearing this, Captain Sea warned them about the island's dangers, including numerous sea spirit beasts and spirit masters. He noted that many spirit masters who ventured there never returned. Tang San and his companions insisted on going, questioning if Captain Sea was afraid to take the job. Captain Sea replied that as long as the payment was sufficient, he could handle it. However, he mentioned that additional fees would be required for advice on avoiding dangers and sea spirit beasts.
Tang San instructed Ning Rongrong to pay Captain Sea, but only a tenth of the agreed-upon amount as a deposit, promising the remainder upon their safe arrival at Sea God Island. Tang San also inquired if Captain Sea knew where they could purchase deep-sea stealth soul tools. Captain Sea introduced them to an old sailor.
After learning that their goal was to train at Sea God Island to grow stronger and oppose the Spirit Hall, the old sailor asked them a series of questions. Satisfied with their determination to protect themselves and their companions while respecting the ocean’s temperament, he admired their courage and sold them the Longyuan Boat. Captain Sea then set sail with Tang San and his companions. The crew included Captain Sea, his first mate, and four sailors.
The group initially struggled to adapt to life at sea, with many experiencing seasickness. Tang San asked Captain Sea how long it would take to reach Sea God Island. Captain Sea estimated eight days, but warned that they would reach an area teeming with active sea spirit beasts in just one day. He reassured Tang San that he would help them avoid danger. During the voyage, Captain Sea prepared a feast for Tang San and his companions.
After eating, he casually asked if they felt dizzy or unwell. When the group showed no adverse reactions, Captain Sea was puzzled. Oscar jokingly suggested that Captain Sea might have drugged the food, hoping to incapacitate them. Captain Sea’s son ominously remarked that this could be their last meal. At this, Captain Sea dropped his pretense and ordered his men to capture them alive, intending to hand them over to the Spirit Hall.
Tang San, using a compass and the sun's position, realized that the ship had been circling in the same area rather than heading toward Sea God Island. Knowing something was amiss, Tang San gathered the male members of the group that night and shared his suspicions. He instructed Bai Chenxiang to focus on observing their food for the next two days.
Bai Chenxiang discovered that Captain Sea had indeed laced their meals with drugs, so they pretended to eat the food while secretly feeding it to Captain Sea’s crew. Tang San confronted Captain Sea, asking if he was affiliated with the Spirit Hall. Captain Sea admitted that, given Tang San's enmity with the Spirit Hall, delivering him to them would earn him a position within their ranks.
Tang San coldly replied that if Captain Sea intended to use them as an offering to join the Spirit Hall, then they could not let him live. Captain Sea’s son lunged at Tang San but was knocked into the ocean. Captain Sea, terrified, knelt and begged for mercy, revealing that they were members of the Purple Pearl Pirate Group.
He explained that his role was to lure rich victims to sea for their leader, the 73rd-level Soul Sage, Purple Pearl, to rob. Realizing that killing Captain Sea would leave them stranded and unable to reach Sea God Island safely, Tang San spared him. However, he warned everyone to remain vigilant.
That night, Captain Sea secretly steered the ship to an area inhabited by the Deep Sea Demon Whale, a terrifying 100,000-year-old sea spirit beast blinded in one eye by the Sea God. Captain Sea dropped explosive charges into the ocean, enraging the beast. He then revealed to Tang San that he had thrown his only son into the sea and no longer wished to live, intending to drag everyone down with him.
Tang San and his companions fought desperately but could not withstand the Deep Sea Demon Whale's attacks. Tang San, seeing no other way, stayed behind to hold off the beast and urged the others to flee. Despite his efforts, his external spirit bone was shattered, leaving him unconscious. Xiao Wu, sensing that Tang San was in danger, wanted to save him, but Tang San telepathically told her not to risk herself.
At the critical moment, the Sea God appeared and subdued the 100,000-year-old spirit beast. Using the Vast Sea Protection Shield, the Sea God protected Tang San. When Tang San regained consciousness, he found himself rescued by a doctor on Purple Pearl Island.
Episode 37 Recap
Tang San wanted to ask the Purple Pearl Pirate Group for help in finding his lost companions. Dr. Ji Xiang told him that if he knew about the leader, Purple Pearl, he should also understand the kind of business she runs. Ji Xiang warned that the price Purple Pearl might demand could be beyond Tang San’s ability to pay. Tang San, however, assured him that his payment would satisfy her.
Since the leader had taken her crew out to sea, Ji Xiang suggested that Tang San wait until her return, at which point he could take him to meet her. While Tang San was resting, a patient in critical condition arrived at Ji Xiang’s clinic, bleeding profusely. The patient’s family caused a commotion, desperate for help. Tang San stepped in to stop the bleeding, while Ji Xiang treated and bandaged the wounds, ultimately saving the patient’s leg.
Grateful, the patient’s family thanked Ji Xiang and left. Ji Xiang’s martial soul was a silver needle, but he was born with zero innate spirit power, making him what many considered a “hopeless case. ” Seeing Ji Xiang’s plight reminded Tang San of his own experiences. He reassured Ji Xiang that being born with zero innate spirit power didn’t make him worthless, and that there were ways to change his fate if he was willing.
Ji Xiang replied that he had researched extensively and discovered that only the rare Ten-Thousand-Year Ginseng King could boost his spirit power, but such a treasure was far beyond his reach. Ji Xiang resigned himself to being an ordinary doctor who could heal those within his capabilities. Tang San then took out a Ten-Thousand-Year Ginseng King and offered it to Ji Xiang, saying he could truly help him.
Ji Xiang was astonished and initially refused, stating that it was far too precious and that he could only accept it if he bought it. Tang San insisted it was a gift, repaying Ji Xiang for saving his life, but explained that the ginseng alone was just an ingredient. To truly boost spirit power, it needed to be used alongside a specific cultivation method, which he happened to know.
Ji Xiang eagerly asked Tang San to teach him the cultivation method, but Tang San explained that it was a sect technique and couldn’t be shared freely. If he were to teach it, he would first need to penalize himself. Ji Xiang, not wanting to cause Tang San trouble, instead asked to become his disciple.
Seeing Ji Xiang’s kind heart and his determination to gain spirit power to become a healing spirit master, Tang San agreed to accept him as a disciple and passed on the cultivation method. When Purple Pearl returned to the island, Ji Xiang took Tang San to meet her. However, Tang San was shocked to find Dai Mubai and the others tied to posts, while Xiao Wu’s screams could be heard from inside.
Anxious, Tang San rushed in to find a woman seemingly bullying Xiao Wu. Without hesitation, he engaged her in combat. Tang San quickly subdued Purple Pearl, only for Ji Xiang, Dai Mubai, and the others to intervene and explain the misunderstanding. Purple Pearl had actually saved them. Xiao Wu was only screaming because she had eaten too much too quickly after starving for so long, and Purple Pearl had been trying to stop her from overeating.
Realizing his mistake, Tang San apologized to Purple Pearl for acting impulsively. Tang San explained to Purple Pearl how Captain Sea had tricked them into the territory of the Deep Sea Demon Whale in an attempt to rob and kill them, only to meet his own demise. He then thanked Purple Pearl for rescuing Dai Mubai and the others and prepared to leave with his companions.
However, Purple Pearl objected, saying that he couldn’t just leave after barging into her place and causing such a commotion, which would damage her reputation among her crew. She challenged Tang San to a competition, declaring that if he won, they could leave. Purple Pearl proposed a dart-throwing contest, with the winner being whoever could land closer to the bullseye. The loser would have to drink. Despite her confidence, Purple Pearl kept losing and had to drink repeatedly.
Eventually, she realized she had underestimated Tang San. When Tang San admitted he had never been honest about his dart-throwing skills, Purple Pearl declared the contest void and demanded a rematch, this time on her terms. She suggested they compete on the beach, and the loser would have to acknowledge the winner as their superior. In the end, Purple Pearl lost again and admitted defeat, agreeing to recognize Tang San as her boss.
Upon learning that they intended to train on Sea God Island to improve themselves and oppose the Spirit Hall, she pledged her full support for their efforts. Tang San and his companions set off on the Longyuan Boat toward Sea God Island but soon encountered an attack by the guardian beasts of the island—a school of Demon White Sharks.
Tang San used the Vast Sea Cosmic Shield to fend off their attacks and successfully protect the group as they landed on Sea God Island. As soon as they stepped ashore, a group of children led them to meet someone who questioned how they had managed to evade the guardian beasts and land on the island. He remarked that it had been years since anyone had successfully made it past the guardian beasts.
Tang San explained that they had come to accept the Sea God’s trials. Hearing this, the man led them further into the island and warned them that once the trials began, there would be no turning back.
Episode 38 (Ending) Recap
Tang San sensed the presence of a Title Douluo on the island. The person leading Tang San and his companions reported to Lord Seahorse that they had come to take the Sea God’s trials. Lord Seahorse instructed them that they must first cross the Sea Within the Sea and reach the Seahorse Sacred Pillar before qualifying for the trials.
Tang San used the Vast Sea Cosmic Shield to protect everyone as they crossed the Sea Within the Sea and arrived at the Seahorse Sacred Pillar. Feeling a familiar aura, Seahorse Douluo asked Tang San about the artifact. Tang San explained that the Vast Sea Cosmic Shield was a treasure of his. Seahorse Douluo informed them that since they had reached the sacred pillar, they had the opportunity to receive the Sea God’s trials.
The trials were divided into levels, ranked from lowest to highest: White, Yellow, Purple, Black, and Red—the highest level. Seahorse Douluo would serve as their examiner. The group entered a spiritual mirror where the level of their trials would be determined. Dai Mubai was the first to step forward for the Sea God’s evaluation. He was assigned the Black Rank Six Trials. The greater the number of trials, the harder they would be.
The Black Rank Six Trials were the most difficult within the Black Rank. Over the past century, Black Rank Trials had appeared only 31 times, and only seven people had ever succeeded, all of whom became Sacred Pillar Guardians. Seahorse Douluo himself was one of them. He warned that if they chose to take the trials, a land spirit master taking the Black Rank Six Trials would have to complete one trial each year.
If a trial wasn’t completed, the next one wouldn’t appear. If they exceeded the time limit or tried to evade their trials, the Sea God’s mark on their foreheads would cause them to die. In the Black Rank Trials, there was only success or death. Seahorse Douluo told them that when he took the Black Rank Four Trials, his final challenge had been to survive an hour under the attack of the Demon White Sharks.
He reminded them to consider carefully, as he could still send them away safely. Tang San and the others firmly replied that they had come to push their limits and would not regret their decision. Zhu Zhuqing was evaluated next. The Sea God commented that she carried too many desires on her path of cultivation. Zhu Zhuqing argued that the desire to grow stronger shouldn’t be seen as a flaw.
When asked why she wanted to become stronger, she replied that she longed for freedom. The Sea God warned her that she would one day understand that becoming stronger wouldn’t bring her true freedom and suggested she learn from Oscar’s sense of peace. Ultimately, Zhu Zhuqing was assigned the Black Rank Five Trials. Oscar, despite being a food-type spirit master, was also assigned the Black Rank Six Trials. Ma Hongjun received the same evaluation, Black Rank Six Trials.
Bai Chenxiang then stepped forward, asking for the chance to take a trial as well. The Sea God noted that she was different from the others and that the trials were not ordinary. He offered to send her away safely if she chose to withdraw. Bai Chenxiang admitted that she was far weaker than the others but still wished to give it a try. The Sea God acknowledged her determination and assigned her the Yellow Rank One Trial.
Hearing this, Bai Chenxiang felt disheartened, as it was a reflection of her limited strength. Ma Hongjun comforted her, saying that not even a god could define her; only she could define herself. Bai Chenxiang’s trial required her to endure Ma Hongjun’s attacks for the duration of one incense stick’s time. In the end, she successfully completed her trial and was grateful that Ma Hongjun treated her as an equal.
Ning Rongrong stepped forward and received the Top Rank Seven Trials, which shocked everyone. Seahorse Douluo explained that the last time the Top Rank Seven Trials appeared, they were for the Sea God’s Great Offering. If Ning Rongrong completed her trials, she would become the successor to the Great Offering. Tang San asked if the Top Rank Seven Trials were significantly harder than the Black Rank Six Trials.
Seahorse Douluo confirmed that the Top Rank Seven Trials were much more difficult, but whenever they appeared, they signified the rise of a powerful spirit master destined to become the Great Offering. No matter how challenging, the trials could definitely be completed. Xiao Wu received the Top Rank One Trial. Her task was to accompany Tang San in completing all his trials. Finally, Tang San was assigned the Sea God’s Nine Trials.
The Sea God’s Great Offering appeared and instructed Seahorse Douluo to arrange for the group to stay in the Sea God Island Lord’s residence during their trials. She told Tang San that he could not fail, as his trials were tied to the survival of Sea God Island. Meanwhile, Qian Renxue knelt in the Elder Hall, waiting for the Angel God to descend and assign her a trial. However, the trial did not appear.
Her grandfather, Qian Daoliu, told her that it didn’t matter if she didn’t receive the Angel God’s trial, as he would support her. Frustrated, Qian Renxue declared that if the Angel God didn’t acknowledge her, she would no longer revere the deity and would even destroy the Angel God’s statue. At that moment, the Angel God appeared, stating that only with such resolve was she worthy of receiving the trials. The Angel God assigned her the Angel’s Nine Trials.
Qian Daoliu explained that if she completed eight trials, she would become the next leader of the Spirit Hall. If she completed all nine, she would become unbeatable across the Douluo Continent. Tang San and his companions faced their first trial: ascending the Sea God’s Light. Only those ranked Purple or higher could climb the 1,001 steps leading to the Sea God Temple to pay respects.
Anyone attempting to ascend without the required rank would face attacks from the Sea God’s Light. Bai Chenxiang decided to join them, even if it meant continuing only until she couldn’t persist any longer. With their determination set, Tang San and the group embarked on their trials.
