Tang San, along with Titan and Tai Nuo, visited the Defense Clan in Longxing City. After exchanging secret codes, the gates opened, and they were greeted by Niu Gao, the leader of the Defense Clan. Niu Gao and Titan were delighted to see each other. Titan introduced Tang San and his companions as the ones who defeated Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation in the Soul Master Elite Tournament.

Tang San revealed his identity, stating that he was Tang San, the son of Tang Hao. Upon hearing this, Niu Gao’s expression changed, and he demanded Tang San leave. He blamed Tang Hao for offending Spirit Hall, which had led to years of oppression for his clan, and he refused to welcome anyone from the Clear Sky Clan. Tang San first apologized to Niu Gao for the hardship caused by his father’s actions.

However, he argued that the true culprit behind all the suffering was Spirit Hall, and it was Spirit Hall that deserved to be fought against. Niu Gao responded bitterly, saying they wished they could oppose Spirit Hall but found it impossible. Tang San expressed his hope that the Defense Clan would join the Tang Sect to stand against Spirit Hall together.

Niu Gao, having never heard of the Tang Sect, doubted Tang San’s abilities, suggesting that if Tang San couldn’t even defeat him, he stood no chance against Spirit Hall. Tang San requested a chance to prove himself, proposing that if he won, Niu Gao would allow him to stay for their gathering and consider persuading the other clans to join the Tang Sect. Titan, impressed by Tang San’s confidence despite his youth, encouraged Niu Gao to give him an opportunity.

In their duel, Tang San defeated Niu Gao, earning his respect. While Niu Gao allowed Tang San to stay for the gathering, he emphasized that his grudge against the Clear Sky Clan remained unresolved. Tang San acknowledged Niu Gao’s bitterness, understanding that it stemmed from the Clear Sky Clan’s abandonment of the four clans in the past. Tang San assured him that the Tang Sect would never repeat such actions.

Niu Gao, known for his stubbornness and distrust, had suffered years of harassment from Spirit Hall. Tang San believed that if Niu Gao witnessed someone willing to stand up to Spirit Hall, he would be more inclined to trust them. The Elephant Armored Clan had already allied with Spirit Hall. Its leader, Huyan Zhen, arrived at the Defense Clan’s gathering with Hu Liena and Yan from Spirit Hall.

They attempted to persuade the Defense Clan to join the Elephant Armored Clan, but Niu Gao refused, unwilling to become a pawn of Spirit Hall. When Spirit Hall threatened the Defense Clan, Tang San stepped forward. He proposed a duel with Hu Liena, stating that if he won, Spirit Hall would stop bothering the Defense Clan. Hu Liena confidently accepted, vowing not to lose to Tang San again.

During their fight, Hu Liena expressed her lingering bitterness over being deceived by Tang San in the City of Hell. Tang San reminded her that in the City of Hell, they had to rely on each other to survive. However, once they escaped, he had made it clear that they would be enemies if Spirit Hall continued its tyranny.

Realizing Hu Liena’s feelings for him were complicated, Tang San deliberately did not dodge one of her attacks, allowing himself to be injured. He wanted to repay her favor and settle their debt. Hu Liena declared that they were even now and left with Spirit Hall’s members, warning Tang San not to challenge Spirit Hall’s overwhelming power. Tang San, however, vowed to avenge Xiao Wu, whom Spirit Hall had killed.

Niu Gao was moved by Tang San’s willingness to risk offending Spirit Hall to protect the Defense Clan. Witnessing Tang San’s strength and courage, he finally agreed to join the Tang Sect. When he saw Tang San’s hundred-thousand-year spirit ring, he was astonished, remarking that Tang San’s talent had already surpassed Tang Hao’s. Niu Gao promised that since the Defense Clan had joined the Tang Sect, he would follow Tang San’s orders whenever needed.

Tang San noted that while the Strength Clan’s estate currently served as the Tang Sect’s headquarters, it was too small to accommodate all four clans. He requested the Defense Clan’s help in constructing a larger sect headquarters, and Niu Gao readily agreed. After Spirit Hall announced a re-election of the Seven Great Sects, the Elephant Armored Clan began capturing the leaders of smaller sects in Longxing City, forcing them to join. Tang San decided this could not be tolerated.

Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing took on the task of investigating the matter. Meanwhile, Ma Hongjun, Oscar, and Ning Rongrong went to the market to shop for local specialties. There, Ma Hongjun encountered the white-robed girl he had been longing for—Bai Chenxiang from the Speed Clan.
