The Land of Warriors Episode 36 Recap
> The Land of Warriors Recap
Ma Hongjun, enraged after seeing Bai Chenxiang injured, unleashed the skill from his right arm spirit bone to attack the Sea Soul Brothers, poisoning them in the process. He then snapped his fingers, engulfing them in flames, which dissipated the water dome. With this, Ma Hongjun and Bai Chenxiang secured victory in the match. Overjoyed by their win, the two celebrated their prize money, and Bai Chenxiang suggested giving it to her cousin, Tang San.
After the match, Ma Hongjun took the initiative to detoxify the Sea Soul Brothers and sincerely admitted that he had used tricks to win, acknowledging that otherwise, he would have lost the match. Captain Sea, noticing their victory, tried to impress them by boasting about his familiarity with Vast Sea City and recommending exciting activities like boating and diving. Tang San, however, told Captain Sea that their destination was Sea God Island.
Hearing this, Captain Sea warned them about the island's dangers, including numerous sea spirit beasts and spirit masters. He noted that many spirit masters who ventured there never returned. Tang San and his companions insisted on going, questioning if Captain Sea was afraid to take the job. Captain Sea replied that as long as the payment was sufficient, he could handle it. However, he mentioned that additional fees would be required for advice on avoiding dangers and sea spirit beasts.
Tang San instructed Ning Rongrong to pay Captain Sea, but only a tenth of the agreed-upon amount as a deposit, promising the remainder upon their safe arrival at Sea God Island. Tang San also inquired if Captain Sea knew where they could purchase deep-sea stealth soul tools. Captain Sea introduced them to an old sailor.
After learning that their goal was to train at Sea God Island to grow stronger and oppose the Spirit Hall, the old sailor asked them a series of questions. Satisfied with their determination to protect themselves and their companions while respecting the ocean’s temperament, he admired their courage and sold them the Longyuan Boat. Captain Sea then set sail with Tang San and his companions. The crew included Captain Sea, his first mate, and four sailors.
The group initially struggled to adapt to life at sea, with many experiencing seasickness. Tang San asked Captain Sea how long it would take to reach Sea God Island. Captain Sea estimated eight days, but warned that they would reach an area teeming with active sea spirit beasts in just one day. He reassured Tang San that he would help them avoid danger. During the voyage, Captain Sea prepared a feast for Tang San and his companions.
After eating, he casually asked if they felt dizzy or unwell. When the group showed no adverse reactions, Captain Sea was puzzled. Oscar jokingly suggested that Captain Sea might have drugged the food, hoping to incapacitate them. Captain Sea’s son ominously remarked that this could be their last meal. At this, Captain Sea dropped his pretense and ordered his men to capture them alive, intending to hand them over to the Spirit Hall.
Tang San, using a compass and the sun's position, realized that the ship had been circling in the same area rather than heading toward Sea God Island. Knowing something was amiss, Tang San gathered the male members of the group that night and shared his suspicions. He instructed Bai Chenxiang to focus on observing their food for the next two days.
Bai Chenxiang discovered that Captain Sea had indeed laced their meals with drugs, so they pretended to eat the food while secretly feeding it to Captain Sea’s crew. Tang San confronted Captain Sea, asking if he was affiliated with the Spirit Hall. Captain Sea admitted that, given Tang San's enmity with the Spirit Hall, delivering him to them would earn him a position within their ranks.
Tang San coldly replied that if Captain Sea intended to use them as an offering to join the Spirit Hall, then they could not let him live. Captain Sea’s son lunged at Tang San but was knocked into the ocean. Captain Sea, terrified, knelt and begged for mercy, revealing that they were members of the Purple Pearl Pirate Group.
He explained that his role was to lure rich victims to sea for their leader, the 73rd-level Soul Sage, Purple Pearl, to rob. Realizing that killing Captain Sea would leave them stranded and unable to reach Sea God Island safely, Tang San spared him. However, he warned everyone to remain vigilant.
That night, Captain Sea secretly steered the ship to an area inhabited by the Deep Sea Demon Whale, a terrifying 100,000-year-old sea spirit beast blinded in one eye by the Sea God. Captain Sea dropped explosive charges into the ocean, enraging the beast. He then revealed to Tang San that he had thrown his only son into the sea and no longer wished to live, intending to drag everyone down with him.
Tang San and his companions fought desperately but could not withstand the Deep Sea Demon Whale's attacks. Tang San, seeing no other way, stayed behind to hold off the beast and urged the others to flee. Despite his efforts, his external spirit bone was shattered, leaving him unconscious. Xiao Wu, sensing that Tang San was in danger, wanted to save him, but Tang San telepathically told her not to risk herself.
At the critical moment, the Sea God appeared and subdued the 100,000-year-old spirit beast. Using the Vast Sea Protection Shield, the Sea God protected Tang San. When Tang San regained consciousness, he found himself rescued by a doctor on Purple Pearl Island.
