Zhi Jian came to inform Liu Yan that the Crown Prince and the Third Prince had started fighting. Liu Yan asked him who was teaching today, and Zhi Jian told him it was Mu Zhuohua. Liu Yan's face turned dark, and he hurriedly went there. The Empress Dowager blamed all the faults on Mu Zhuohua, and the three princes pleaded for her. However, the Empress Dowager didn't listen to their pleas. She had never liked Mu Zhuohua and now had a reason to take action against her. She was determined not to spare Mu Zhuohua. No matter how Mu Zhuohua tried to explain, the Empress Dowager refused to listen. She believed Mu Zhuohua had improper conduct, seducing the princes. She intended to dismiss her from her teaching position and give her twenty strokes of the cane. Just as Mu Zhuohua was about to explain, the Empress Dowager ordered them to take action.

The three princes tried to intercede, but the Empress Dowager didn't listen to them at all. Seeing the situation worsening, they took turns kneeling to plead with her. But the Empress Dowager remained stubborn and ordered the servants to punish them severely. Liu Yan rushed there in haste and asked the Empress Dowager what wrong Mu Zhuohua had done to make her so furious. The Empress Dowager told him that Mu Zhuohua had improper conduct, seducing the princes and sowing discord among them. Hearing this, Liu Yan decided to take a different approach. He suggested handing Mu Zhuohua over to the Three Departments for investigation and handling. Although this seemed like he wanted to punish her severely, it was actually a way to make the Empress Dowager fear that her private motivations would become known.

Indeed, the Empress Dowager realized that the matter that seemed insignificant was becoming known to all. Liu Yan continued by saying that since the Empress Dowager was a person of great stature, she needn't bother with someone like Mu Zhuohua. Pei Lan came to inform the Empress Dowager that Mu Zhuohua had been taken to Lord Ding's residence. The Empress Dowager realized that Liu Yan was genuinely concerned this time.

Liu Yan had brought Mu Zhuohua to Lord Ding's residence and had Doctor Zhao examine her injuries. Doctor Zhao reassured him that Mu Zhuohua had a strong foundation and just had a slight fever. Zhang, the steward, saw Liu Yan carrying a woman into the residence and was very pleased. The household hadn't seen a woman for a long time. Zhang was happy and hoped that Mu Zhuohua would stay there. He suggested to Liu Yan that since Mu Zhuohua had injuries and it wasn't convenient for her to stay alone, she should stay in the residence. Liu Yan agreed. Zhi Jian informed Liu Yan that his plan had worked; the people of Beiliang were starting to take action. Liu Yan prepared Zhi Jian and his team for the upcoming events.

Zhi Jian told Liu Yan that Zhang, the steward, must have a reason for having Mu Zhuohua stay in the residence and was likely trying to matchmake between them. Liu Yan finally understood Zhang's unusual behavior and sent Zhi Jian to fetch Guo Juli. Zhi Jian hesitated, as he believed Guo Juli was terrified of Liu Yan and would run away like a mouse seeing a cat. He suggested sending Zhi Mo instead. Upon hearing that her mistress was injured, Guo Juli hurriedly went to visit Mu Zhuohua with Zhi Mo. Mu Zhuohua and Liu Yan analyzed the situation's ins and outs. Mu Zhuohua felt she had given them a handle due to her actions and resolved to be more careful and not act recklessly.

Princess Rou Jia summoned Shen Jinghong and asked him to evaluate a string of pearls. Shen Jinghong found them elegant and luxurious. She then brought out various pieces of jewelry for him to assess. Shen Jinghong thought they would look stunning on the princess. However, Princess Rou Jia clarified that they weren't for her but for Mu Zhuohua. She couldn't personally deliver them, as it would upset the Empress Dowager even more. Upon hearing that Shen Jinghong had come to see Mu Zhuohua, Liu Yan hastily brought medicine, using it as an excuse to make Shen Jinghong leave. Mu Zhuohua found the medicine too bitter and asked Guo Juli to replace it with a new one. Unfortunately, Liu Yan caught her in the act.
