The situation in Jiangnan has been alleviated. The common people have been giving gifts to Princess Rou Jia and Mu Zhuohua, recognizing their efforts during these days. Mu Zhuohua also understood why the princess established the Jishan Hall – to provide a way out for more people. She used to believe that holding an official position was for herself, but now she felt the need to do it for others as well. Zhuang Wenfeng's wife, who is also Mu Zhuohua's younger sister, learned that Mu Zhuohua had returned. Since Mu Zhuohua hadn't come home, she personally visited Mu Zhuohua and offered her tea as a substitute for wine. Unexpectedly, the tea was spiked with a sedative. Mu Zhuohua fainted after drinking it. This whole situation was orchestrated by Zhuang Wenfeng, who had threatened her.

When Mu Zhuohua woke up, she found herself in an unfamiliar place. Zhuang Wenfeng entered the room, startling her. She quickly learned about the current situation. She pretended that she also wanted to see Zhuang Wenfeng and assured him that she didn't intend to escape. She explained that she had been knocked out and sent there. Learning this, Zhuang Wenfeng was enraged and demanded to know who was responsible for it.

Mu Zhuohua speculated that her younger sister might have done it. She explained the details to Zhuang Wenfeng, who became angry and ordered his men to bring her sister before him. Her sister tried to explain, but Zhuang Wenfeng didn't listen. He had her confined, not allowing anyone near her. Mu Zhuohua made an excuse to freshen up and asked Zhuang Wenfeng to wait outside. She found evidence linking Zhuang Wenfeng to the disappearance of official grain. However, Zhuang Wenfeng suddenly appeared behind her. Fortunately, Zhi Jian arrived in time to save Mu Zhuohua. Zhuang Wenfeng and his men pursued them, but Zhi Jian signaled for help.

Liu Yan and Zhi Mo arrived promptly upon seeing the signal. When Mu Zhuohua saw Liu Yan rushing to her rescue, she was touched and overwhelmed. She ran to him and hugged him. Liu Yan inquired about her injuries, and Mu Zhuohua, curious, asked why he had come. Before Liu Yan could answer, he fainted. Zhi Mo arrived and took Liu Yan and Mu Zhuohua back in a carriage. Mu Zhuohua understood that Liu Yan's luck was unbalanced due to his injury and provided acupuncture to temporarily stabilize him. She sought her father, hoping he would give her the Qinghe branch. She intended to use it to save Liu Yan. Mr. Mu hesitated to part with the valuable item. Mu Zhuohua realized his concerns were related to Zhuang Wenfeng and assured him that she could handle it. He finally agreed to hand over the Qinghe branch.

Liu Chen interrogated Zhuang Wenfeng, who continued to maintain his innocence. He shifted blame onto Zhou, the steward, although Liu Chen knew Zhou was just an executor who couldn't make such decisions. Zhuang Wenfeng persisted in his evasions and tried to provoke Liu Chen. Just as Liu Chen was about to lose his temper, he remembered Mu Zhuohua's warning that Zhuang Wenfeng was cunning. Liu Chen told Zhuang Wenfeng that if he wouldn't confess, he could return to Dingjing, and justice would be served there. Mu Zhuohua recounted her childhood experiences with Guo Juli to Zhi Mo. She asked him to treat Juli well and not bully her. As Mu Zhuohua shared her mother's story, Liu Yan listened, pondering certain matters. He shared information about her mother with her, and in turn, Mu Zhuohua explained why she had been avoiding him.
