Mu Zhuohua found evidence that Sun Yunyun had been secretly giving laxatives to someone. She told Sun Yunyun that she had been patient with her before, but if she continued like this, she shouldn't blame her for being rude. Mu Zhuohua warned her that if this affected the Ministry of Revenue, she wouldn't hesitate to take action. When Sun Yunyun saw the Empress Dowager approaching, she quickly pretended to be upset. As expected, the Empress Dowager thought she was bullying the newcomer, so Mu Zhuohua reluctantly confessed and was punished to kneel for an hour.

Zhi Jian reported this matter to Liu Yan, who instructed him to bring medicine to Mu Zhuohua promptly. Princess Rou Jia brought dinner to Shen Jinghong, knowing that he liked sweets. She brought many pastries.

Shen Jinghong was very happy that Princess Rou Jia brought him sweets. Princess Jing'an arrived and interrupted their conversation. She asked Shen Jinghong to teach her poetry from the Central Plains. Sun Yunyun watched Mu Zhuohua kneeling on the ground and told her that she and Liu Yan were a perfect match. Mu Zhuohua told her that who Liu Yan wanted to marry was his own business and had nothing to do with her. Liu Yan happened to overhear this conversation, and he angrily left with the medicine. He then had Lord Li deliver it to Mu Zhuohua. Lord Li comforted Mu Zhuohua and told her to use the medicine properly. Mu Zhuohua didn't know that it was from Liu Yan and told Lord Li that if she couldn't finish it, she would return it to him.

Liu Yan brought officials from the Ministry of Revenue and told them that in the future, someone else should deliver the documents instead of Mu Zhuohua. The next day, Lord Li handed the documents to Sun Yunyun to deliver, leaving Mu Zhuohua surprised. For several days in a row, Sun Yunyun continued to deliver the documents, and Mu Zhuohua wondered what was going on since she used to be the one doing it. Sun Yunyun was seen by Mu Zhuohua holding an umbrella for Liu Yan, and though she felt uncomfortable, she couldn't say anything. When she returned home, Guo Juli noticed that Mu Zhuohua was unhappy and gave her a spider as a gift for the Qixi Festival. Mu Zhuohua told Juli that she didn't want to celebrate the Qixi Festival at all.

Mu Zhuohua asked Juli if she would feel sad if the person who always brought her delicious food, Zhi Mo, suddenly gave it to someone else. Juli told her that if it were Zhi Jian himself, she wouldn't feel sad. Mu Zhuohua realized that she used to think Liu Yan was indifferent to anyone, but now she couldn't do the same. After teaching three royal princes, Mu Zhuohua overheard them discussing the Empress Dowager's proposal of marriage to Liu Yan and Sun Yunyun. This troubled her deeply.

Liu Chen thought that Shen Jinghong had a good relationship with Mu Zhuohua and asked him about her preferences. Shen Jinghong was curious why Liu Chen didn't ask Mu Zhuohua directly, but Liu Chen said he wanted to give her a surprise. Shen Jinghong told Liu Chen that Mu Zhuohua's favorite thing was money, but Liu Chen wanted to come up with something more than just money. Guo Juli took Mu Zhuohua to the street to celebrate the Qixi Festival, even though Mu Zhuohua initially didn't want to go. Mu Zhuohua saw Sun Yunyun and Liu Yan together, so she asked Juli to go ahead and do something on her own.

Juli gave a piece of sweets to Zhi Mo, who said it was delicious. Zhi Jian overheard the sarcasm and realized that he didn't actually like sweets but was lying to make the girl happy. Mu Zhuohua released a sky lantern, hoping it would represent her past affection for Liu Yan. Liu Yan happened to arrive behind her and heard what Mu Zhuohua said. She admitted to him that she had feelings for him. However, when Sun Yunyun appeared, Mu Zhuohua realized that her feelings for Liu Yan were insignificant, and Sun Yunyun could actually help him. They were the perfect match. Liu Yan told Mu Zhuohua that he didn't want to marry Sun Yunyun, and he had already refused the Empress Dowager's offer. Mu Zhuohua also realized that Liu Yan had done many things for her, but she felt that she was a selfish person. She had already made up her mind not to let love interfere with her life, and she couldn't respond to Liu Yan's feelings. Liu Yan and Mu Zhuohua made a pact: if he didn't marry, she wouldn't marry either, and they would stay by each other's side.
